Posture Symmetry based Motion Capture System for Analysis of Lower -limbs Rehabilitation Training

This paper presents a motion capture based rehabilitation training system for a lower-limb paretic patient. The system evaluates the rehabilitation status of the patient by using the bend posture of the knees and the weight balance of the body. The posture of both legs is captured with a single camera using the planar mirror. The weight distribution is obtained by the Wii Balance Board. Self-occlusion problem in the tracking of the legs is resolved by using k-nearest neighbor based clustering with body symmetry and local-linearity of the posture data. To do this, we present data normalization and its symmetric property in the normalized vector space.
Fog Rendering Using Distance-Altitude Scattering Model on 2D Images

We present a fog generation algorithm in 2D images. The proposed algorithm provides a scattering model for the approximated calculation of fog density. The scattering model needs parameters of distance and altitude information. However, 2D images do not include that information, so that we calculate them from the depth information generated in an interactive manner, and estimate the scattering factor by using the scattering model. Then we generate fog effect on an input image using the scattering factor by distance-oriented selection blur and color blending. With the algorithm, we can easily create the fog-effected images and fog generated animation from 2D images.

Video stabilization is a very important step for vision based applications in the vehicular technology because the accuracy of these applications such as obstacle distance estimation, lane detection and tracking can be affected by bumpy roads and oscillation of vehicle. Conventional methods suffer from either the zooming effect which caused by a camera movement or some motion of surrounding vehicles. In order to overcome this problem, we propose a novel video stabilization method using FOE(Focus of Expansion). When a vehicle moves, optical flow diffuses from the FOE and the FOE is equal to an epipole. If a vehicle moves with vibration, the position of the epipole in the two consecutive frames is changed by oscillation of the vehicle. Therefore, we carry out video stabilization using motion vector estimated from the amount of change of the epipoles. Experiment results show that the proposed method is more efficient than conventional methods.
Comparison of Feature Selection Processes for Image Retrieval Applications

A process of choosing a subset of original features, so called feature selection, is considered as a crucial preprocessing step to image processing applications. There are already large pools of techniques developed for machine learning and data mining fields. In this paper, basically two methods, non-feature selection and feature selection, are investigated to compare their predictive effectiveness of classification. Color co-occurrence feature is used for defining image features. Standard Sequential Forward Selection algorithm are used for feature selection to identify relevant features and redundancy among relevant features. Four color spaces, RGB, YCbCr, HSV, and Gaussian space are considered for computing color co-occurrence features. Gray-level image feature is also considered for the performance comparison reasons. The experimental results are presented.
An Integrated Game Theoretical Approach for Primary and Secondary Users Spectrum Sharing in Cognitive Radio Networks

In this paper, we address the problem of bandwidth sharing among multiple primary users and multiple secondary users in a cognitive radio network. In cognitive radio networks, effective spectrum assignment for primary and secondary users is a challenge due to the available broad range of radio frequency spectrum as well as the requisition of harmonious coexistence of both users. To handle this problem, firstly, Bertrand game model is used to analyze a spectrum pricing in which multiple primary users emulate with each other to acquire maximal profit. After that, we employ Cournot game to model the spectrum sharing of secondary users to obtain optimal profit for each user also. Simulation results show that our scheme obtains optimal solution at Nash equilibrium.
Cooperation Models and Cooperative Routing for Exploiting Hop-by-Hop Cooperative Diver sity in Ad Hoc Networks

In wireless ad hoc networks, nodes communicate with each other using multihop routed transmission in which hop-by-hop cooperative diversity can be effectively employed. This paper proposes (i) two cooperation models for per-link cooperation (PLC) and per-node cooperation (PNC) for exploiting cooperative diversity in wireless ad hoc networks and (ii) a cooperative routing algorithm for the above models in which best relays are selected for cooperative transmission. First, two cooperation models for PLC and PNC are introduced and represented as an edge-weighted graph with effective link quality. Then, the proposed models are transformed into a simplified graph and a cooperative routing algorithm with O(n2) time is developed, where n is the number of nodes in the network. The effectiveness of the algorithm is confirmed for the two cooperation models using simulation.
Software Design of Packet Analyzer based on Byte-Filtered Packet Inspection Mechanism for UW-ASN

The rapid growth of UnderWater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UW-ASNs) has led researchers to enhance underwater MAC protocols against limitations existing in underwater environment. We propose the customized robust real-time packet inspection mechanism with addressing the problem of the search for the data packet loss and network performance quality analysis in UW-ASNs, and describe our experiences using this approach. The goal of this work is to provide a framework to assess the network real-time performance quality. We propose a customized and adaptive mechanism to detect, monitor and analyze the data packets according to the MAC protocol standards in UW-ASNs. The packet analyzing method and software we propose is easy to implement, maintain, update and enhance. We take input stream as real data packets from sniffer node in capture mode and perform fully analysis. We were interested in developing software and hardware designed tool with the same capabilities which almost all terrestrial network packet sniffers have. Experimental results confirm that the best way to achieve maximum performance requires the most adaptive algorithm. In this paper, we present and offer the proposed packet analyzer, which can be effectively used for implementing underwater MAC protocols.
Certificate Revocation Scheme using MOT Protocol over T-DMB Infrastructure

A Certificate Revocation List(CRL) should be distributed quickly to all the vehicles for vehicular communications to protect them from malicious users and malfunctioning equipment as well as to increase the overall security and safety of vehicular networks. Thus, a major challenge in vehicular networks is how to efficiently distribute CRLs. This paper proposes a Multimedia Object Transfer(MOT) protocol based on CRL distribution scheme over T-DMB infrastructure. To complete the proposed scheme, a handoff method, CRL encoding rules based on the MOT protocol, and relative comparison are presented. The scheme can broaden breadth of network coverage and can get real-time delivery with enhanced transmission reliability. Even if road side units are sparsely deployed or, even not deployed, vehicles can obtain recent CRLs from T-DMB infrastructure effectively.
A Filter Lining Scheme for Efficient Skyline Computation

The skyline of a multidimensional data set is the maximal subset whose elements are not dominated by other elements of the set. Skyline computation is considered to be very useful for a decision making system that deals with multidimensional data analyses. Recently, a great deal of interests has been shown to improve the performance of skyline computation algorithms. In order to speedup, the number of comparisons between data elements should be reduced. In this paper, we propose a filter lining scheme to accomplish such objectives. The scheme divides the multidimensional data space into angle-based partitions, and places a filter for each partition, and then connects them together in order to establish the final filter line. The filter line can be used to eliminate data, that are not part of the skyline, from the original data set in the preprocessing stage. The filter line is adaptively improved during the data scanning stage. In addition, skylines are computed for each remaining data partition, and are then merged to form the final skyline. Our scheme is an improvement of the previously reported simple preprocessing scheme using simple filters. The performance of the scheme is shown by experiments.
Process Analysis of Digital Right Management for Web-Based Multicast Contents

In recent years, advanced in digital technologies have created significant changes in the way we reproduce, distribute and market Intellectual Property (IP). DRM for multicast contents is complicated risk, the further technology development and human demand, this approaching is still being researched by the scientist and all by the company which is conducting in piracy management reduced, and every country has national policy to make this consortium to limit piracy properties, based on this paper research development, just only two approaching to reduce piracy in DRM they are Industrial Property (IP) and Copyright. In this paper, we are not only figuring and analyzing about the processes to reduce and limit the piracy and unprotected copy law but also describing about the encryption process, watermarking and digital signature process algorithms. The basic concepts of this encryption process for web-based multicast content in DRM are implemented in Java. We conduct this method is a computerized through web based application system approaching to reduce unprotected copy and piracy. Which is used in DRM for multicast content in every section, by providing a fundamental in information technology development, we believe this research is reliable to prove that is unprotected copy, and piracy can be reduced by protecting with this paradigm.
Understanding of the Sung-Rye-Moon Roof Structure and implementation of the traditional Bracket-set Design Modules for BIM tools

Roof structure of the traditional buildings in the Northeast Asia region including Korea contains the most complicated and crucial components of the building and therefore the issues such as cost down, productivity and the attempt to combine the traditional building methodology with contemporary building technology turn out to be vital to the survival of the old yet disconnected traditional building industry. One of the distinctive modern building technologies is handling life-cycle building information by constructing virtual buildings using BIM, building information modeling tools. In this paper we follow a procedure to implement some of the design modules to be applied in BIM tools which are platforms for constructing virtual building models. We focus on Gong-po components namely the bracket-sets which are the essential part that connects the middle parts to the top parts (the roof structure) which are considered to be the most elaborate parts of the traditional buildings. The target building to work with in this paper is the Sung-Rye-Moon which has special cultural and social meanings nowadays and we tested our understanding and the design modules such as the bracket-sets by constructing a virtual building model of Sung-Rye-Moon.
