Satellite Image Watermarking Perspective Distance Decision using Information Tagging of GPS

This paper presents a watermarking scheme based on the perspective distance for the secure mash-up service. The proposed scheme embeds the watermark of the location information of satellite image and the user information using edge color histogram, which is dissimilar to general digital image. Therefore, this scheme can trace the illegal distributor and can protect private information of user through the watermarking scheme that is adaptive to satellite image. Experimental results verified that our scheme has the invisibility and also the robustness against geometric attacks of rotation and translation.
Mobile Watermarking Based on the Distortion Analysis of Display-Capture Image in a Smart Phone

In this paper, we propose a mobile watermarking based on the distortion analysis of display-capture image in a smart phone. We compose a random sequence by utilizing the property of frequency band in the wavelet domain. Then we calculate the CCS (Coefficients Comparative Sum) using the block wavelet coefficients of selected subbands after the wavelet transformation and the random sequence and repeatedly embed a watermark using an insertion threshold for the watermark robustness. For correcting a distortion caused by the display-capture process, we adopt a frame at the outside of watermarked image, then we can equate a watermark synchronization by detecting the frame. And we can improve frame detection ratio by using an iteratively adaptive threshold. A proposed scheme embedded information of 206 bits into standard digital images and it shows an average about 41.42 dB in PSNR. In watermark extract experiments, a proposed scheme accurately recognizes the frame more than 97% in total captured images. Also in BER (Bit Error Ratio) of captured images, it shows about 3.73%, then it was improved more than 70%, compared with the Pramila's method.
A Fast Mode Decision of Non-anchor Pictures in Multi-view Video Coding for 3D Applications

The Multi-view Video Coding (MVC) which is exploiting disparities between views has been developed to improve the coding efficiency of multi-view video. But MVC has a problem of having high computing complexities because of disparity estimation. This paper propose a fast mode decision for non-anchor picture to reduce the computational time of MVC. The proposed method uses two phases. Anchor pictures in hierarchical B picture structure have a higher correlation with prediction mode selection of non-anchor pictures, so in the first phase, prediction mode of non-anchor pictures is selected by exploiting the macro-block regions in anchor picture. In the second phase, we select a reference direction of inter prediction mode exploiting a higher correlation among reference directions of inter prediction modes of 7 block sizes. Experimental results show that the proposed method could save average about 44% in the encoding time with negligible coding efficiency losses.
A Study on Smart Touch Projector System Technology Using Infrared (IR) Imaging Sensor

Recently, very rapid development of computer and sensor technologies induces various kinds of user interface (UI) technologies based on user experience (UX). In this study, we investigate and develop a smart touch projector system technology on the basis of IR sensor and image processing. In the proposed system, a user can control computer by understanding the control events based on gesture of IR pen as an input device. In the IR image, we extract the movement (or gesture) of the devised pen and track it for recognizing gesture pattern. Also, to correct the error between the coordinate of input image sensor and display device (projector), we propose a coordinate correction algorithm to improve the accuracy of operation. Through this system technology as the next generation human-computer interaction, we can control the events of the equipped computer on the projected image screen without manipulating the computer directly.
An Energy Efficient Time Synchronization Technique Based on WUSB over WBAN Protocol for Wearable Computer Systems

In this Paper, we propose an Energy Efficient Time Synchronization technique based on WUSB (Wireless USB) over WBAN (Wireless Body Area Networks) protocol required for Wearable Computer systems. For this purpose, the proposed Time Synchronization algorithm minimizes power consumption and estimates time information with accuracy. It is executed on the basis of WUSB over WBAN protocol at each sensor node comprising peripherals of a wearable computer system. It minimizes power consumption by exchanging time stamp packets and forming a hierarchical structure.

In this Paper, we propose a Real-Time Localization Platform Built on WUSB (Wireless USB) over WBAN (Wireless Body Area Networks) protocol required for Wearable Computer systems. Proposed Real-Time Localization Platform Technique is executed on the basis of WUSB over WBAN protocol at each sensor node comprising peripherals of a wearable computer system. In the Platform, a WUSB host calculates the location of a receiving sensor node by using the difference between the times at which the sensor node received different WBAN beacon frames sent from the WUSB host. And the WUSB host interprets motion of the virtual object.
A Robust Reversible Data Hiding Scheme with Large Embedding Capacity and High Visual Quality

Reversible data hiding scheme is a form of steganography in which the secret embedding data can be retrieved from a stego image for the purpose of identification, copyright protection and making a covert channel. The reversible data hiding should satisfy that not only are the distortions due to artifacts against the cover image invisible but also it has large embedding capacity as far as possible. In this paper, we propose a robust reversible data hiding scheme by exploiting the differences between a center pixel and its neighboring pixels in each sub-block of the image to embed secret data into extra space. Moreover, our scheme enhances the embedding capacity and can recover the embedded data from the stego image without causing any perceptible distortions to the cover image. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme has lower visible distortions in the stego image and provides robustness to geometrical image manipulations, such as rotation and cropping operations.
Performance Analysis on Sharing of an Adjacent Channel using Guardband and Maximum Allowable Transmitter Power in TV White Space

In this paper, we analyze the sharing performances for coexistence of different communication systems between adjacent channels in TV White space. We analyze the parameter performance result according to various density of interfering transmitter and transmitter output. Two cases are analyzed to consider an interference effect between each system. First, WiBro is an interfering transmitter and WLAN is a victim receiver. Second, WLAN is an interfering transmitter and WiBro is a victim receiver. Free space channel model, Extended Hata and IEEE 802.11 model are used for channel environment. Analyzed coexistence results under various co-use scenarios may be widely applied into the technique developed to get the coexisting condition for wireless devices using many communication protocols in adjacent frequency.
Analyzing the Credibility of the Location Information Provided by Twitter Users

We have observed huge success in social network services like Facebook and Twitter, and many researchers have done their analysis on these services. As massive data observed by users is produced on Twitter, many researchers have been conducting research to detect an event on Twitter. Some of them developed a system to detect the earthquakes or to find the local festivals. However, they did not consider the credibility of location information on Twitter although their systems were using the location information. In this paper, we analyze the credibility of the profile location and the correlation between the spatial attributes on Twitter as the preliminary research of the event detection system on Twitter. We analyzed 0.5 million Twitter users in Korea and 2.8 million users around the world. 49.73% of the users in Korea and 90.64% of the users in the world posted tweets in their profile locations. This paper will be helpful to understand the credibility of the spatial attributes on Twitter when the researchers develop an application using them.
A Wireless Temperature Control System based on FPGA

In this paper, we designed and built a wired temperature controller system which is based on ASIC for a wireless temperature controller system based on FPGA. FPGA devices and wireless controller systems are growing quickly especially for industrial systems for sensing temperature and humidity. FPGA can set up a desired system and a CPU, and directly set up or change a peripheral device based on an IP quickly for an affordable price. This wireless system is easy to install in the field where there are lots of changes and the system is complex. It also has advantages for maintenance. In this study, we are using a 32 bit RISC CPU based on MicroBlaze, with a touch interface, peripheral device, and porting the embedded Linux. Also, we added wireless communication using ZigBee. With this system we provide remote monitoring and control through the web by adding a web server. Compared to the original system, we say not only a performance improvement, but also more efficient development and cheaper costs. In this study, we focused especially on building a better development environment and a more effective user interface.

Social networking services which spreading rapidly is a system using interrelationship of people by internet or mobile. SNS is a network system of the human-centered. In this paper, in order to make robot become a member of social networks we studied the necessary elements and formation. For robot with communication function and sensing, autonomous, collision avoidance method and communication protocol is needed to let Robot share the present conditions dangerous or special situation. We realized this after investigating necessary sensor for SNS, studying robot's collision-avoidance method, and defining protocol of robot for SNS. Also, we suggested and implemented the wired and wireless integrated communications method.
A Virtual Fitting System Using The Top and Bottom Image of Garment

A virtual garment fitting system which fits the top and bottom of a garment on 3D body data is introduced. This system uses the laser scanned 3D body data and the digital images photographed the front and back of a garment. The digital images are modeled to reflect tensions among particles in the images and the friction and gravity effects are considered in the fitting process to the body data. When a bottom is fitted, a virtual belt to hold the bottom in the waist is introduced since gravity effects pull down it. Also the process for fitting the top and bottom on layers is proposed here. The system has the strengths that it uses only the front and back image of a garment instead of using complicated patterns of a garment, and provides a realistic fit result as a 3D figure. As on-line retailing shop in present displays front and back images of garments, this system also does. However this system provides a differentiated service to user than present retailing shop as showing a 3D fit image. It will make a new trend in online shop retailing of garment.
Implementation & Usability Evaluation of Math Expression Reader for Domestic Reading Disables

E-books produced in the country provide limited audio service for reading disables. The reason is that those books cannot translate the mathematical expressions and symbols in the context. In this paper, the 'Math Expression Reader' was implemented that can translate the expressions and symbols in the document into Korean speech for those who have reading disabilities. The math to speech generated by this program has been tested to both the public and reading disables and the results of this test has been compared whether they can exactly understand the speech and evaluated the reading rules.
