3D Multiple Objects Detection and Tracking on Accurate Depth Information for Pose Recognition

'Gesture' except for voice is the most intuitive means of communication. Thus, many researches on how to control computer using gesture are in progress. User detection and tracking in these studies is one of the most important processes. Conventional 2D object detection and tracking methods are sensitive to changes in the environment or lights, and a mix of 2D and 3D information methods has the disadvantage of a lot of computational complexity. In addition, using conventional 3D information methods can not segment similar depth object. In this paper, we propose object detection and tracking method using Depth Projection Map that is the cumulative value of the depth and motion information. Simulation results show that our method is robust to changes in lighting or environment, and has faster operation speed, and can work well for detection and tracking of similar depth objects.
Efficient Non-photorealistic Rendering Technique in Single Images and Video

The purpose of this study was to present a non-photorealistic rendering technique that is efficient in single images and moving images. In case of single images, they could be processed in a real-time base by realizing flow-based DoG filter and bilateral filter, which have been frequently used in the single image NPR technique recently, in the CUDA environment. In case of moving images, the investigator presented not the existing method of NPR moving images which generating images by applying the single image NPR technique to every frame, but the method of using the single image NPR technique in the first frame and stylizing it, and then of using the motion vector-based pixel mapping in the second frame on and copying the bright values of pixels that move on the frame into the location of next frame's motion vector, thus reducing unnecessary volume of calculation and maintaining the consistency between frames. In this study, the performance of this method was proved via an experiment.
A Histogram-based Object Tracking for Mobile Platform

In this paper we propose a real-time moving object tracking method on a smart phone camera. By considering the limit of non-learning approach on low-performance platforms, we use the sliding-window detection technique based on histogram features. We solve the problem of the time-consuming histogram computation on each sub-window by adapting the integral histogram. For additional speed and tracking performance, we propose a new adaptive bin method. From the experiments on our dataset, we achieved high speed performance demonstrating 34~63 frames per second.
Nearby Vehicle Detection in the Adjacent Lane using In-vehicle Front View Camera

We present a nearby vehicle detection method in the adjacent lane using in-vehicle front view camera. Nearby vehicles in adjacent lanes show various appearances according to their relative positions to the host vehicle. Therefore, most conventional methods use motion information for detecting nearby vehicles in adjacent lanes. However, these methods can only detect overtaking vehicles which have faster speed than the host vehicle. To solve this problem, we use the feature of regions where nearby vehicle can appear. Consequently, our method cannot only detect nearby overtaking vehicles but also stationary and same speed vehicles in adjacent lanes. In our experiment, we validated our method through various whether, road conditions and real-time implementation.
An Implementation of QR Code based On-line Mobile Augmented Reality System

This paper proposes a mobile augmented reality system to provide detail information of the products using QR code included in them. In the proposed system, we perform the estimation of the camera pose using both of marker-based and markerless-based methods. If the camera can see the QR code, we perform the estimation of the camera pose using the set of rectangles in the QR code. However, if the QR code is out of sight, we perform the estimation of the camera pose based homography between consecutive frames. Moreover, the content of the augmented reality in the proposed system is made by using meta-data. Therefore, the user can make contents of various scenario using only meta-data file without modification of our system. Especially, our system maintains the contents as newly updated state by the on-line server. Thus, it can reduce the unnecessary update of the program.
Active Video Watermarking Technique for Infectious Information Hiding System

Most watermarking schemes for video contents protection have been studied to increase watermark's robustness and invisibility against such compressions and many kinds of signal processing after embedding copyright information to the original contents. This paper proposes an active watermarking that infect watermark to contents in the video decoding process using embedded infectious watermark and control signals from a video encoder side. To achieve this algorithm, we design a kernel based watermarking in video encoder side that is possible to recover the original contents and watermark in watermark detection procedure perfectly. And then, by reversible de-watermarking in video decoder side, we design the active watermark infection method using detected watermark and control signal. This means that our system can provide secure re-distributions of video contents without any quality degration and watermark bit error against transcoding or re-encoding processing. By experimental results, we confirmed that the embedded watermark was infected by video contents and codec perfectly without any declines of compression ratio and video quality.
Analysis on Parameters for Cochannel Use of Heterogeneous Systems in TV White Space

In this paper, we propose the interference probability according to distance between mobile stations and the maximal power of interfering transmitter as parameters which are used for analysis to co-exist in co-channel of different systems. In order to analyze interfering between each systems, we consider two cases. First, WiBro is an interfering transmitter and WLAN is a victim receiver. Second, WLAN is an interfering transmitter and WiBro is a victim receiver. When the interfering transmitter is WiBro or WLAN, interference probability according to distance between systems is analyzed by setting transmit power of 25 and 23 dBm, respectively. Analyzed coexistence results under various co-use scenarios may be widely applied into the technique developed to get the coexisting condition for wireless devices using many communication protocols in same frequency.
The Overload Control Scheme Using a Delay Queue in the SIP Signalling Networks

The SIP(Session Initation Protocol) is an application layer protocol that is used to establish, release, and change the call session of the IP telephony. In the SIP signalling networks, when the number of the UA(User Agent) requested the call session increase, the number of messages to be processed by SIP proxy server increase. It often will be caused the overload of the SIP proxy server. In this paper, we proposed the overload control method with a normal queue and a delay queue in the SIP proxy server. When it is estimated the overload of the server by the excess of the high threshold in the normal queue, new INVITE messages will be put into the delay queue to reduce the load of the server. It results in some delay of the call session from the INVITE message. Subsequently when the number of messages in the normal queue is reduced below the low threshold, the INVITE messages in the delay queue is processed. The simulation results showed that the number of the retransmission messages by our proposed method was 45% less than the one by the method with single queue. The results also showed that the average call success rate by the proposed method was 2% higher than the one by the method with single queue.
A DDMPF(Distributed Data Management Protocol using FAT) Design of Self-organized Storage for Negotiation among a Client and Servers based on Clouding

This paper proposes the DDMPF(Distributed Data Management Protocol using FAT) which prevents data loss and keeps the security of self-organized storages by comprising a client, a storage server, and a verification server in clouding environment. The DDMPF builds a self-organized storage server, solves data loss by decentralizing the partitioned data in it in contrast to the centralized problem and the data loss caused by the storage server problems of existing clouding storages, and improves the efficiency of distributed data management with FAT(File Allocation Table). And, the DDMPF improves the reliability of data by a verification server's verifying the data integrity of a storage server, and strengthens the security in double encryption with a client's private key and the system's master key using EC-DH algorithm. Additionally, the DDMPF limits the number of verification servers and detects the flooding attack by setting the TS(Time Stamp) for a verification request message and the replay attack by using the nonce value generated newly, whenever the verification is requested.
Activity Data Modeling and Visualization Method for Human Life Activity Recognition

With the development of Smartphone, Smartphone contains diverse functions including many sensors that can describe users' state. So there has been increased studies rapidly about activity recognition and life pattern recognition with Smartphone sensors. This research suggest modeling of the activity data to classify extracted data in existing activity recognition study. Activity data is divided into two parts: Physical activity and Logical Activity. In this paper, activity data modeling is theoretical analysis. We classified the basic activity(walking, standing, sitting, lying) as physical activity and the other activities including object, target and place as logical activity. After that we suggested a method of visualizing modeling data for users. Our approach will contribute to generalize human's life by modeling activity data. Also it can contribute to visualize user's activity data for existing activity recognition study.
The Chinese Characters Learning Contents Based on Gesture Recognition Using HMM Algorithm

In this paper, we proposed a contents of Chinese characters learning based on gesture recognition using HMM(hidden markov model) algorithm. Input image of the system is obtained in 3-dimensional information from the TOF camera, and the method of gesture recognition is consisted of part of forecasting user's posture in two infrared images and part of recognizing gestures from continuous poses. In the communication between human and computer, this system provided convenience that user can manipulate it easily by not using any further equipment but action. Because this system raise immersion and interest by using two large display and various multimedia factor, it can maximize information transmission. The edutainment Chinese character contents proposed in this paper provide educational effect that use can master Chinese character naturally with interest, and it can be expected a synergy effect via content experience because it is based on gesture recognition.
