A Correlation Analysis between the Social Signals of Cold Symptoms Extracted from Twitter and the Influence Factors

With the huge success of Social Network Services, studies on social network analysis to extract the current issues or to track the symptoms of epidemic disease are being carried out actively. On Twitter, tweets reflect people's reaction to an event and users' individual status well, so it is possible to detect an event regarding a tweet as a sensory value. Recently, social signals are used to detect the spread of illness like the flu as well as the occurrence of disaster event like an earthquake in early stages. In this paper, we set up a cold as a target event and regarded tweets as Cold Signals. To evaluate the reliability of Cold Signals, we analyzed correlations between weather factors and the cold index provided by Korea Meteorological Administration.
Implementation Of DDoS Botnet Detection System On Local Area Network

Different Different from a single attack, in DDoS Attacks, the botnets that are distributed on network initiate attacks against the target server simultaneously. In such cases, it is difficult to take an action while denying the access of packets that are regarded as DDoS since normal user's convenience should also be considered at the target server. Taking these considerations into account, the DDoS botnet detection system that can reduce the strain on the target server by detecting DDoS attacks on each user network basis, and then lets the network administrator to take actions that reduce overall scale of botnets, has been implemented in this study. The DDoS botnet detection system proposed by this study implemented the program which detects attacks based on the database composed of faults and abnormalities collected through analyzation of hourly attack traffics. The presence of attack was then determined using the threshold of current traffic calculated with the standard deviation and the mean number of packets. By converting botnet-based detection method centering around the servers that become the targets of attacks to the network based detection, it was possible to contemplate aggressive defense concept against DDoS attacks. With such measure, the network administrator can cut large scale traffics of which could be referred as the differences between DDoS and DoS attacks, in advance mitigating the scale of botnets. Furthermore, we expect to have an effect that can considerably reduce the strain imposed on the target servers and the network loads of routers in WAN communications if the traffic attacks can be blocked beforehand in the network communications under the router equipment level.
Development of Multi Haptic Control Environments for Tele-operating Robot System

There are four methods such as 1:1, 1:N, N:1, and N:N in the tele-operating system for control the remote side robot. The operator must know the information of surroundings of the robot, collision possibility of the mobil equipment, and force feedback of the manipulator. The time delay problem occurs in the tele-operating and it causes vibration and expressive power of the manipulator owing to bidirectional force feedback. N:N control technique having been developed lately has a switching algorithm for the operator to select the target robot or it's partial equipment. When multi-operators work together to accomplish a task with multi-robots, the switching facility must be offered. And the automatic tuning skill to generalize the operator's tendency is needed also. We describes the methodologies and skills for developing a haptic-based tele-operating environments to makes it possible to control the remote multi-robots with multi-operators in this paper.
Non-rigid Registration Method of Lung Parenchyma in Temporal Chest CT Scans using Region Binarization Modeling and Locally Deformable Model

In this paper, we propose a non-rigid registration method of lung parenchyma in temporal chest CT scans using region binarization modeling and locally deformable model. To cope with intensity differences between CT scans, we segment the lung vessel and parenchyma in each scan and perform binarization modeling. Then, we match them without referring any intensity information. We globally align two lung surfaces. Then, locally deformable transformation model is developed for the subsequent non-rigid registration. Subtracted quantification results after non-rigid registration are visualized by pre-defined color map. Experimental results showed that proposed registration method correctly aligned lung parenchyma in the full inspiration and expiration CT images for ten patients. Our non-rigid lung registration method may be useful for the assessment of various lung diseases by providing intuitive color-coded information of quantification results about lung parenchyma.
A Study on Production of iPhone-Based Augmented Reality 3D Fashion Fitting Contents

Purchase of clothes has recently picked up pace at mobile fashion shopping malls. One of the biggest weak points is that consumers can't coordinate clothes. Since individuals increasingly want to make coordination, a fashion coordination system to satisfy the demand should be developed. As the technology of digital clothing which is about reproducing dresses using computer graphic has been activated in the fashion industry, many changes in consumers' life patterns and interests in fashion shopping malls are taking place. Some consumers are increasingly more keenly interested in shopping on the Internet and Smart phones than in offline stores. This study was conducted to understand production of iPhone-based augmented reality fashion fitting contents which is suitable for Koreans' body shape. This system is about designing and materializing UI(User Interface), an augmented reality fitting system, so that users can confirm if they look nice with those fashion items using Smart phones. A new fashion shopping method satisfying user convenience was suggested using the materialized system.
Augmented Reality Authoring Tool with Marker & Gesture Interactive Features

In this paper, we suggest an augmented reality authoring tool system that users can easily make augmented reality contents using hand gesture and marker-based interaction methods. The previous augmented reality authoring tools are focused on augmenting a virtual object and to interact with this kind of augmented reality contents, user used the method utilizing marker or sensor. We want to solve this limited interaction method problem by applying marker based interaction method and gesture interaction method using depth sensing camera, Kinect. In this suggested system, user can easily develop simple form of marker based augmented reality contents through interface. Also, not just providing fragmentary contents, this system provides methods that user can actively interact with augmented reality contents. This research provides two interaction methods, one is marker based method using two markers and the other is utilizing marker occlusion. In addition, by recognizing and tracking user's bare hand, this system provides gesture interaction method which can zoom-in, zoom-out, move and rotate object. From heuristic evaluation about authoring tool and compared usability about marker and gesture interaction, this study confirmed a positive result.
Scaling Reuse Detection in the Web through Two-way Boosting with Signatures and LSH

The emergence of Web 2.0 technologies, such as blogs and wiki, enable even naive users to easily create and share content on the Web using freely available content sharing tools. Wide availability of almost free data and promiscuous sharing of content through social networking platforms created a content borrowing phenomenon, where the same content appears (in many cases in the form of extensive quotations) in different outlets. An immediate side effect of this phenomenon is that identifying which content is re-used by whom is becoming a critical tool in social network analysis, including expert identification and analysis of information flow. Internet-scale reuse detection, however, poses extremely challenging scalability issues: considering the large size of user created data on the web, it is essential that the techniques developed for content-reuse detection should be fast and scalable. Thus, in this paper, we propose a
algorithm, a mechanism for identifying multi-sentence content reuse among documents by efficiently combining sentence-level evidences. The experiment results show that
significantly improves the reuse detection speed and provides high recall.
Small Target Detection Using 3-dimensional Bilateral Filter

This paper presents a three dimensional bilateral filter detecting target trajectory, extracting spatial target information using two dimensional bilateral filter and temporal target information using one dimensional bilateral filter. In order to discriminate edge pixel with flat background and target region spatially and temporally, spatial and temporal variance are used for an image and temporal profile. With this procedure, background and background profile are predicted without original target through two dimensional and one dimensional bilateral filter. Finally, using spatially predicted background and temporally predicted background profile, small target can be detected. For comparison of existing target detection methods and the proposed method, the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) is used in experimental results. Experimental results show that the proposed method has superior target detection rate and lower false alarm rate.
Small Target Detection Method Using Bilateral Filter Based on Surrounding Statistical Feature

Bilateral filter (BF), functioning by two Gaussian filters, domain and range filter is a nonlinear filter for sharpness enhancement and noise removal. In infrared (IR) small target detection field, the BF is designed by background predictor for predicting background not including small target. For this, the standard deviations of the two Gaussian filters need to be changed adaptively in background and target region of an infrared image. In this paper, the proposed bilateral filter make the standard deviations changed adaptively, using variance feature of mean values of surrounding block neighboring local filter window. And, in case the variance of mean values for surrounding blocks is low for any processed pixel, the pixel is classified to flat background and target region for enhancing background prediction. On the other hand, any pixel with high variance for surrounding blocks is classified to edge region. Small target can be detected by subtracting predicted background from original image. In experimental results, we confirmed that the proposed bilateral filter has superior target detection rate, compared with existing methods.
Vehicle Detection and Tracking using Billboard Sweep Stereo Matching Algorithm

In this paper, we propose a highly precise vehicle detection method with low false alarm using billboard sweep stereo matching and multi-stage hypothesis generation. First, we capture stereo images from cameras established in front of the vehicle and obtain the disparity map in which the regions of ground plane or background are removed using billboard sweep stereo matching algorithm. And then, we perform the vehicle detection and tracking on the labeled disparity map. The vehicle detection and tracking consists of three steps. In the learning step, the SVM(support vector machine) classifier is obtained using the features extracted from the gabor filter. The second step is the vehicle detection which performs the sobel edge detection in the image of the left camera and extracts candidates of the vehicle using edge image and billboard sweep stereo disparity map. The final step is the vehicle tracking using template matching in the next frame. Removal process of the tracking regions improves the system performance in the candidate region of the vehicle on the succeeding frames.
Wafer Position Recognition Based on Generalized Symmetry Transform

This paper proposes the wafer position recognition algorithm using camera. First, for eliminating the image distortions caused by the illumination and the irregular camera position, the wafer image is restored as a circle through projective transformation. Next, we use edge detection algorithm to extract the wafer's edge and then apply Generalized Symmetry Transform(GST) to extract a circle. The GST evaluates symmetry between two points by combining a distance weight function, a phase weight function, and a logarithmic mapping of the points' intensities and detecting interest regions. Trough several experiments, we found out the proposed method is able to prevent the cleaning system and the wafer from damaging.
