A Feature Vector Generation Technique through Gradient Correction of an Outline in the Mouth Region

Recently, various methods to effectively eliminate the noise are researched in image processing techniques. However, the conventional noise filtering techniques, which remove most of the noise, are less efficient for remained noise detection after filtering due to exploiting no face feature information. In this paper, we proposed a feature vector generation technique in the mouth region by distinguishing and revising the remained noise through gradient correction, when the outline is extracted after performing noise filtering.
Area Measurement of Organism Image using Super Sampling and Interpolation

This paper proposes a method for extracting tissue cells from an organism image by an electron microscope and getting the whole cell number and the area from the cell. In general, the difference between the cell color and the background is used to extract tissue cell. However, there may be a problem when overlapped cells are seen as a single cell. To solve the problem, we split them by using cell size and curvature. This method has a 99% accuracy rate. To measure the cell area, we compute two areas, the inside and boundary of the cell. The inside is simply calculated by the number of pixels. The cell boundary is obtained by applying super sampling, linear interpolation, and cubic spline interpolation. It improves the error rate, 18%, 19%, and 120% respectively, in comparison to the counting method that counts a pixel area as 1.
K-means based Clustering Method with a Fixed Number of Cluster Members

Clustering methods are very useful in many fields such as data mining, classification, and object recognition. Both the supervised and unsupervised grouping approaches can classify a series of sample data with a predefined or automatically assigned cluster number. However, there is no constraint on the number of elements for each cluster. Numbers of cluster members for each cluster obtained from clustering schemes are usually random. Thus, some clusters possess a large number of elements whereas others only have a few members. In some areas such as logistics management, a fixed number of members are preferred for each cluster or logistic center. Consequently, it is necessary to design a clustering method that can automatically adjust the number of group elements. In this paper, a k-means based clustering method with a fixed number of cluster members is proposed. In the proposed method, first, the data samples are clustered using the k-means algorithm. Then, the number of group elements is adjusted by employing a greedy strategy. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed clustering scheme can classify data samples efficiently for a fixed number of cluster members.
Improved Tooth Detection Method for using Morphological Characteristic

In this paper, we propose improved methods which are image conversion and extraction method of watershed seed using morphological characteristic of teeth on complement image. Conventional tooth segmentation methods are occurred low detection ratio at molar region and over, overlap segmentation owing to specular reflection and morphological feature of molars. Therefore, in order to solve the problems of the conventional methods, we propose the image conversion method and improved extraction method of watershed seed. First, the image conversion method is performed using RGB, HSI space of tooth image for to extract boundary and seed of watershed efficiently. Second, watershed seed is reconstructed using morphological characteristic of teeth. Last, individual tooth segmentation is performed using proposed seed of watershed by watershed algorithm. Therefore, as a result of comparison with marker controlled watershed algorithm and the proposed method, we confirmed higher detection ratio and accuracy than marker controlled watershed algorithm.
Hilbert-curve based Multi-dimensional Indexing Key Generation Scheme and Query Processing Algorithm for Encrypted Databases

Recently, the research on database outsourcing has been actively done with the popularity of cloud computing. However, because users' data may contain sensitive personal information, such as health, financial and location information, the data encryption methods have attracted much interest. Existing data encryption schemes process a query without decrypting the encrypted databases in order to support user privacy protection. On the other hand, to efficiently handle the large amount of data in cloud computing, it is necessary to study the distributed index structure. However, existing index structure and query processing algorithms have a limitation that they only consider single-column query processing. In this paper, we propose a grid-based multi column indexing scheme and an encrypted query processing algorithm. In order to support multi-column query processing, the multi-dimensional index keys are generated by using a space decomposition method, i.e. grid index. To support encrypted query processing over encrypted data, we adopt the Hilbert curve when generating a index key. Finally, we prove that the proposed scheme is more efficient than existing scheme for processing the exact and range query.
A GPU scheduling framework for applications based on dataflow specification

Recently, general purpose graphic processing units(GPUs) are being widely used in mobile embedded systems such as smart phone and tablet PCs. Because of architectural limitations of mobile GPGPUs, only a single program is allowed to occupy a GPU at a time in a non-preemptive way. As a result, it is difficult to meet performance requirements of applications such as frame rate or response time if applications running on a GPU are not scheduled properly. To tackle this difficulty, we propose to specify applications using synchronous data flow model of computation such that applications are formed with edges and nodes. Then nodes of applications are scheduled onto a GPU unlike conventional scheduling an application as a whole. This approach allows applications to share a GPU at a finer granularity, node (or task)-level, providing several benefits such as eliminating need for manually partitioning applications and better GPU utilization. Furthermore, any scheduling policy can be applied in response to the characteristics of applications.
A Design and Implementation of a Solution for Real Detection of Information Leakage by Keylogging Attack

Most of vaccine type security solutions detect intrusion of computer virus or malicious code. However, they almost don't have functionalities of the information leakage detection. In particular, information leakage through keylogging attact cannot be detected. In this paper, we design and implement a solution to detect the leakage of information through keylogging attact. Proposed solution detects the user-specified information in real time. To detect the leakage of user-specified information, the solution extracts the payload field from each outbound packet and compares with user-specified information. We design the solution to reduce the effect on the packet transmission delay time due to packet monitoring operation. And we design a simple user interface. By proposed solution, user can response to intrusion or information leakage immediately because he or she can perceives a leakage of information in real time.
High-quality Stitching Method of 3D Multiple Dental CT Images

In this paper, we propose a high-quality stitching method of 3D multiple dental CT images. First, a weighted function is generated using the difference of two distance functions that calculate a distance from the nearest edge of an overlapped region to each position. And a blending ratio propagation function for two gradient vectors is parameterized by the difference and magnitude of gradient vectors that is also applied by the weighted function. When the blending ratio is propagated, an improved region growing scheme is proposed to decide the next position and calculate the blending intensity. The proposed method produces a high-quality stitching image. Our method removes the seam artifact caused by the mean intensity difference between images and vignetting effect. And it removes double edges caused by local misalignment. Experimental results showed that the proposed method produced high-quality stitching images for ten patients. Our stitching method could be usefully applied into the stitching of 3D or 2D multiple images.
Keypad Method Using Touch-based Drag

Keypad used in the portable terminal based on the touch screen such as current smart phones is complex on the input method because of placement for use a small screen on a character or number button and is inconvenient. In this paper, we propose a combination method for the Hangul through touch and drag. First, only keypad for consonants is displayed, if a single consonant is selected by touch, then the keypad for vowels will be displayed around the consonant. Dragging in the keypad is combined into a vowel by depending on the drag path. This method can input Hangul by rapid and intuitive process compared to conventional methods. Simulation results show that the proposed method is very efficient in terms of speed and convenience compared to the conventional methods.
A performance Enhancement of VANET Warning Message Propagation on Electric Wave Blind Area Problem in the Urban Environment

Emergency Warning Service will be the most important service of VANET. Transmission delay is the most important performance criteria of the warning service. Most legacy research takes a way to minimize the packet collision. However those approach has a critical weak point on urban environment where there is a blind area of electric wave. So another issue is required in order to provide enhanced warning message propagation technique to overcome the urban environment problem. In this paper, I proposed an enhanced warning message propagation scheme in the poor electric wave environment as the intersection area. Proposed scheme forwards the warning message to the blind area by enhanced forwarding node selection technique. For efficiency of warning message propagation, I suggest forwarding priority for decision of forwarding node. And the node has a direct mode or redirect mode depending on neighbor nodes. The simulation was carried out to evaluate the performance. The simulation results show that proposed scheme has the superior performance compared to legacy warning message technique.
Image deformation using freeform deformation axis

Various 2D Shape deformation techniques has been presented recently. Concerning intuitive control of deformation, gradient domain 2D deformation techniques have an advantage over FFD(Free-form deformation) approaches, since they can deform objects with less control points. However, semantic shape properties such as thickness or length are difficult to handle in these approaches due to they treat the whole shape as a simple flat shape without structural meaning. In this paper, we propose a 2D shape deformation algorithm that deforms shapes using thin, deformable skeletal structure called freeform deformation axis (FDA). This concept separates the target shape and the deformable structure and thus enables user to manipulate shapes more intuitively.
Animation OST Musical Element Analysis based on A Narrative Process Classification Model

The OST (Original Sound Track) in the film plays a vital role in increasing consensus and concentration to the storyline. The selected 4 animations are classified into 17 Narrative Processes (NP) by using NP Classification Model . For the NPs each having OSTs, the authors have investigated 6 kinds of objective musical elements of the OST such as sound (speech, music, effect), tonality, tempo, range, intensity, and instrumentation. It is found that there are 33.3% common musical elements among all of them for the NPs with OSTs commonly. Among them, it is also found that there are 71.9% of common properties of the musical element. This research is meaningful by firstly showing that there are common properties of objective musical elements in each NP and the corresponding OST.
The Relationship of Taxonomy of Social Capital and Firm's Performance in the Game Industry

Social capital is a sociological concept, which refers to connections within and between social networks. Social capital explains the importance of using social connections and social relations in achieving goals. Social capital such connections and relations, is critical along with environmental dynamism and organizational characteristics in achieving goals for firm's performance. This paper draw the taxonomy of social capital and then analyzed the relationship of firm's performance, environmental dynamism and organizational characteristics such as innovative culture. The empirical results using 134 game corporations in Korea showed that the configuration between taxonomy of social capital was significantly related to organizational structure and innovative culture. And second, the taxonomy of social capital is significantly related to firm's performance.
