A Comparative Study on Classification Methods of Sleep Stages by Using EEG

Electrophysiological recordings are considered a reliable method of assessing a person's alertness. Sleep medicine is asked to offer objective methods to measure daytime alertness, tiredness and sleepiness. As EEG signals are non-stationary, the conventional method of frequency analysis is not highly successful in recognition of alertness level. In this paper, EEG signals have been analyzed using wavelet transform as well as discrete wavelet transform and classification using statistical classifiers such as euclidean and mahalanobis distance classifiers and a promising method SVM (Support Vector Machine). As a result of simulation, the average values of accuracies for the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA)-Quadratic, k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN)-Euclidean, and Linear SVM were 48%, 34.2%, and 86%, respectively. The experimental results show that SVM classification method offer the better performance for reliable classification of the EEG signal in comparison with the other classification methods.
Non-Contact Gesture Recognition Algorithm for Smart TV Using Electric Field Disturbance

In this paper, we propose the non-contact gesture recognition algorithm using 4- channel electrometer sensor array. ELF(Extremely Low Frequency) EMI and PLN are minimized because ambient electromagnetic noise around sensors has a significant impact on entire data in indoor environments. In this study, we transform AC-type data into DC-type data by applying a 10Hz LPF as well as a maximum buffer value extracting algorithm considering H/W sampling rate. In addition, we minimize the noise with the Kalman filter and extract 2-dimensional movement information by taking difference value between two cross-diagonal deployed sensors. We implemented the DTW gesture recognition algorithm using extracted data and the time delayed information of peak values. Our experiment results show that average correct classification rate is over 95% on five-gesture scenario.
Belief propagation stereo matching technique using 2D laser range finder

Stereo camera is drawing attention as an essential sensor for future intelligence robot system since it has the advantage of acquiring not only distance but also other additive information for an object. However, it cannot match correlated point on target image for low textured region or periodic patterned region such as wall of building or room. In this paper, we propose a stereo matching technique that increase the matching performance by fusing belief propagation stereo matching algorithm and local distance measurements of 2D-laser range finder in order to overcome this kind of limitation. The proposed technique adds laser measurements by referring quad-tree based segment information on to the local-evidence of belief propagation stereo matching algorithm, and calculates compatibility function by reflecting over-segmented information. Experimental results of the proposed method using simulation and real test images show that the distance information for some low textured region can be acquired and the discontinuity of depth information is preserved by using segmentation information.
Real Time Enhancement of Images Degraded by Bad Weather

In images degraded by bad weather, edges representing object boundaries become weak and faint. In this paper we present an image enhancement method, which increases image visibility by making edges as clear as possible. First, we choose edge candidate regions by finding local maxima and minima in an image intensity field, and then build a histogram using image intensities of pixels located at the two sides of candidate edges. Second, we decompose this histogram into multiple modes, which are determined by local minima in the histogram. Once modes are computed, we find modes connected by edges in the image intensity field and build link chains of connected modes. Finally we choose the longest link chain of modes and make the distances between every connected modes as large as possible. The darkest mode and the brightest mode should be within the image intensity range. This stretch makes edges clear and increases image visibility. Experiments show that the proposed method real-time enhances images degraded by bad weather as good as well known time-consuming methods.
A Display System of Realtime 3D Bathymetry Using Remote Sensing Exploration and Cloud Computing Technologies

Recently. utilization of remote sensing exploration and cloud computing has been extended to efficient measurement, store, and update of bathymetry map data according to cloud computing technology. In the field of real ocean, water depth measurements and measurement data management, distribution, and display equipment for the development and dissemination have generated a lot of time and cost. To improve these problems, through real-time three-dimensional display system at this location, we can determine the importance of measurement activities, and reduce the time and cost of measurement activities. Data measured from marine probe vessels and remote sensing exploration equipments and other various channels can be handled and managed. In this paper, we propose a realtime three-dimensional display system through the depth measurements from remote sensing exploration. The proposed real-time three-dimensional display system can be effectively applied in the field of measurement of the topographical survey of the land as well as bathymetry of the sea.
A Wifi Smart Power Outlet for Remote Monitoring and Control of Power Consumption

Along the era of "Internet of Things (IoT)" in which the physical objects can be connected to the Internet, a smart power management system is proposed in this paper. This system consists of two modules, an electrical outlet device embedding the Wi-Fi capabilities and a web server supporting the management as well as monitoring of power consumptions. Also, with the proposed system, a customer can easily check the status of power consumption and turn on/off the sockets through the developed mobile website. The proposed system is designed to avoid firewall or PC setting problems involving a user's inconvenience.
A Study on the Methods of Fault Analysis to Improve Safety in U-Healthcare System for Managing Emergency Rescue for Seniors

Recently the U-Healthcare system has been rapidly advanced to manage emergence rescue for seniors. We can access emergency rescue systems with high quality services anytime, anywhere under ubiquitous healthcare systems. The more the various systems develop, the more software security systems become important. Therefore, the safety-critical system has been widely spread to the world by advancement of the information and communication technologies. There are a lot kind of fault analysis methods to evaluate software security systems. However due to characteristics of software that is not applied by human error, it can be prevented the enormous damages and losses from improving the safety of safety-critical system. So this paper proposes an integration method of FTA and Forward and Backward FMECA. This method has each strength of FTA and FMECA which is visual and numeric in normalization. First, by use of FTA, we can redraw FTA with Forward FMECA and Backward FMECA in consideration of occurrence, severity, detection, correctness, robustness, and security. Also according to value of NRVP at each event, we can modify FTA diagrams as shown critical paths given by severity and occurrence. Also, we propose the improved emergency rescue service platform of ubiquitous healthcare systems through identifying priorities of the criticality according to normalized risk priority values (NRPV).
Impact of Social Networking Service on the Team Cooperation, Quality of Decision Making and Job Performance

Social network services are increasingly being used in organizational settings to improve relationships among employees and enhance prospects for information exchange and cooperative work. Social Networking Service(SNS) has deeply penetrated organizational job settings, influencing multiple aspects of employee's life. This study is designed to explore the impact of SNS engagement on the job performance mediated as team cooperation and decision making quality effects. Data were collected from 146 employees who use organizational SNS in there company. Factor analysis and structural equation method are employed. Results from a survey accompanied by the substantial impacts of organizational employee's social networking engagement on social learning processes and outcomes. SNS engagement not only directly influences organizational employee's job performance, but also helps their team cooperation and decision making quality from others and adapt to organizational culture, both of which play prominent roles in improving their job performance.
An Enhanced Rerouting Function using the Failure Information in a VANET Unicasting Routing

The unicasting routing technology of VANET is very important for user convenience. Unicasting packets must be forwarded to the appropriate path in order to arrive to the destination. However, there are so many problems because the vehicle nodes have limited information related to the routing decision. In particular, packet delivery failure will be occurred by selecting the path already failed again. We call this problem as 'Failed Path Re-Selection Problem'. In this paper, we propose an enhanced rerouting function of VANET Routing. The proposed rerouting function uses the failed path information when rerouting function executed. For this rerouting function, failed path information will be stored in the packet whenever the routing fail occurred. By the comparison with the performance of legacy VANET routing function, the superiority of the proposed method can be seen.
On Employing Nonparametric Bootstrap Technique in Oscillometric Blood Pressure Measurement for Confidence Interval Estimation

Blood pressure (BP) is an important vital signal for determining the health of an individual subject. Although estimation of mean arterial blood pressure is possible using oscillometric blood pressure techniques, there are no established techniques in the literature for obtaining confidence interval (CI) for systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) estimates obtained from such BP measurements. This paper proposes a nonparametric bootstrap technique to obtain CI with a small number of the BP measurements. The proposed algorithm uses pseudo measurements employing nonparametric bootstrap technique to derive the pseudo maximum amplitudes (PMA) and the pseudo envelopes (PE). The SBP and DBP are then derived using the new relationships between PMA and PE and the CIs for such estimates. Application of the proposed method on an experimental dataset of 85 patients with five sets of measurements for each patient has yielded a smaller Cl than the conventional student t-method.
An Adaptive Control of Symmetry Contribution Based Generalized Symmetry Transform

This paper propose an adaptive control of symmetry contribution based generalized symmetry transform. which can be controlled symmetry contribution according to the intensity orientation of two pixels. In the proposed method, we define the C-D(convergent and divergent)plane which represents convergence and divergence region of gradient pairs. and used the gaussian phase wight function, with respect to the distance from the gradient pair to an extreme point, in calculating the symmetry contribution. The proposed method can be detect the object more efficiently by adaptive controlling the cut-off frequency of the gaussian phase wight function. To evaluate a performance of the proposed method, we compare the proposed method and conventional GST method in various images including IR image. we prove that the proposed method have better performance in object detection.
SNS Marketing System by Using Video Play Button

The marketing which uses SNS, which has the most biggest growth since appearance of Facebook, is proved to be effective, then many companies make variable attempts of marketing by using Facebook. This paper presents the method of marketing using videos, that has a major part in Facebook, and the method to raise their ratings. By using the video play button it registers information of the videos in Facebook then shares them to other people in real-time through inner News Feed. Therefore, we can maximize effect of marketing through viral marketing to use other users responses.
A Multimedia Replicated Architecture for Transportation Safety Service

Because of development of information communication and multimedia technology, the focus of M2M(Machine to Machine) intelligent network, multimedia collaboration environment, and transportation safety service is increased. This paper describes a multimedia replicated architecture based on Shepherd environment for transportation safety service. The relationship of information collection and utility is relationship of man to man, but is developed object to object by information communication and control system. This paper suggests a design of multimedia cyber collaboration environment based on M2M. This structure can make multimedia collaboration environment and fault tolerance, so on easily. Because M2M system does not affected to all system in spite of occurring to fault to a node or resource, it has a good condition for design of transportation safety service running on M2M.
An Empirical Comparison of Machine Learning Models for Classifying Emotions in Korean Twitter

As online texts have been rapidly growing, their automatic classification gains more interest with machine learning methods. Nevertheless, comparatively few research could be found, aiming for Korean texts. Evaluating them with statistical methods are also rare. This study took a sample of tweets and used machine learning methods to classify emotions with features of morphemes and n-grams. As a result, about 76% of emotions contained in tweets was correctly classified. Of the two methods compared in this study, Support Vector Machines were found more accurate than Na
ve Bayes. The linear model of SVM was not inferior to the non-linear one. Morphological features did not contribute to accuracy more than did the n-grams.
Effective Indexing for Evolving Data Collection by Using Ontology

Data which is created and shared on the Web is characterized by the massive amount of user generated content on various applications and dynamically evolving content on the basis of user interests. Thus, in order to benefit from Web data, it is essential to provide (a) the mechanisms which enable scalable processing of large data collections and (b) the organization schemes which reduce the navigational overhead within complex and dynamically growing content. Between these two impending needs, in this paper, we are interested in developing an indexing scheme which aims to reduce the time and effort needed to access the relevant piece of information by leveraging ontologies. In particular, considering evolving nature of Web contents, the proposed technique in this paper computes the sub-ontology, which best matches a given data collection, from the existing large size of ontology. Case studies show that the proposed indexing scheme in this paper indeed helps organize dynamically evolving content.
A Serious Game Design and Prototype Development for Rehabilitation using KINECT Tools

This paper designs a serious game for rehabilitation of patients with body pains because they sit down for a long time in the same position, or less physical movement. Activity-based game induces to player improvements in physical exercise with fun elements of the game through entertainment to help the body function and substantially increases the player's commitment during challenging goal. This research is a game design that combines the treatment of color and movement of body to the rhythm of the music. We constructed with XNA Game Studio and KINECT interface with gesture recognition technology. We need to research of evaluation system and test for the actual effect of the treatment and advanced functions of game playes like adding various musics and variety of motion.
A Study on Shooting Techniques of 3 Dimensional Stereoscopic Rider Movie

3 dimensional stereoscopic is attracting new attention as it simulates human eye and related hardware advances. However, 3 dimensional stereoscopic requires more time and effort than 2D movie because it uses 2 cameras or 2 lenses. This study analyzed the merits and demerits of the system producing rider movie using 3 dimensional stereoscopic shooting techniques and searched a way to produce better 3 dimensional stereoscopic rider movie which meets the producing intention by applying elements required to create effective 3 dimensional stereoscopic effect. According to the study result, a light-weight integrated system was effective to create 3 dimensional stereoscopic rider movie because of its genre characteristic. In the post-production of the work, location shooting considered of time re-mapping, color correction and graphic element addition was required.

As contemporary men's clothing is becoming slimmer, people consider it important not only the existing simple design, but also intricate design and its fitness that can complement one's body. Therefore, in this study, we reproduced Men's wear fabrication process with 3D process. As a result, it was well received, as it can check the fitness, and allows modifying the design and mixing different texture easily.
