Selective Encryption Algorithm Based on DCT for GIS Vector Map

With the rapid interest in Geographic Information System (GIS) contents, a large volume of valuable GIS dataset has been distributed illegally by pirates, hackers, or unauthorized users. Therefore the problem focus on how to protect the copyright of GIS vector map data for storage and transmission. At this point, GIS security techniques focusing on secure network and data encryption have been studied and developed to solve the copyright protection and illegal copy prevention for GIS digital map. But GIS vector map data is very large and current data encryption techniques often encrypt all components of data. That means we have encrypted large amount of data lead to the long encrypting time and high complexity computation. This paper presents a novel selective encryption scheme for GIS vector map data protection to store, transmit or distribute to authorized users using K-means algorithm. The proposed algorithm only encrypts a small part of data based on properties of polylines and polygons in GIS vector map but it can change whole data of GIS vector map. Experimental results verified the proposed algorithm effectively and error in decryption is approximately zero.
A Direction-Adaptive Watermarking Technique Based on 2DCT in the Buyer-Seller Watermarking Protocol

Buyer-seller watermarking protocol is one of the copyright protection techniques which combine a cryptographic protocol used in electronic commerce with a digital wetermarking scheme aiming at proving the ownership of multimedia contents and preventing the illegal reproduction and redistribution of digital contents. In this paper, it is proposed a new watermarking scheme in an encrypted domain in an image that is based on the block-DCT framework. In order to implement watermarking scheme in a public-key cryptosystem, it is divided that frequency coefficients exist as real number into integer and decimal layer. And the decimal layer is modified integer type through integral-processing. Also, for robustness and invisibility required in watermarking scheme, it is designed a direction-adaptive watermarking scheme based on locally edge-properties of each block in an image through analyzing distribution property of the frequency coefficients in a block using JND threshold.
A vision based people tracking and following for mobile robots using CAMSHIFT and KLT feature tracker

Many mobile robot navigation methods utilize laser scanners, ultrasonic sensors, vision camera, and so on for detecting obstacles and path following. However, human utilizes only vision(e.g. eye) information for navigation. In this paper, we study a mobile robot control method based on only the camera vision. The Gaussian Mixture Model and a shadow removal technology are used to divide the foreground and the background from the camera image. The mobile robot uses a combined CAMSHIFT and KLT feature tracker algorithms based on the information of the foreground to follow a person. The algorithm is verified by experiments where a person is tracked and followed by a robot in a hallway.
Frame rate up conversion method using bilateral motion estimation based on texture activity and neighboring motion information

In this paper we propose a new frame rate up conversion scheme which is used to overcome the motion blur problem of liquid crystal display caused by its slow response. The conventional bilateral motion estimation method which is mainly used in the frame rate up conversion scheme has a drawback that it cannot find true motion vector if there are blocks with simple texture in the search range. To solve this problem, a texture adaptive bilateral motion estimation method that increases cost value of block with simple texture is proposed. Also a motion estimation scheme that utilizes neighboring motion vector effectively is proposed to reduce computation time required to estimate motion. Since the proposed scheme does not apply all available motion vectors within the search range, the execution time of frame rate up conversion can be reduced dramatically. Experimental results show that the interpolated frame image quality of the proposed method is improved in subjective as well as objective view point compared with that of the conventional method.
Extraction of Lip Region using Chromaticity Transformation and Fuzzy Clustering

The extraction of lip region is essential to Lip Reading, which is a field of image processing to get some meaningful information by the analysis of lip movement from human face image. Many conventional methods to extract lip region are proposed. One is getting the position of lip by using geometric face structure. The other discriminates lip and skin regions by using color information only. The former is more complex than the latter, however it can analyze black and white image also. The latter is very simple compared to the former, however it is very difficult to discriminate lip and skin regions because of close similarity between these two regions. And also, the accuracy is relatively low compared to the former. Conventional analysis of color coordinate systems are mostly based on specific extraction scheme for lip regions rather than coordinate system itself. In this paper, the method for selection of effective color coordinate system and chromaticity transformation to discriminate these two lip and skin region are proposed.
Volume measurement of limb edema using three dimensional registration method of depth images based on plane detection

After emerging of Microsoft Kinect, the interest in three-dimensional (3D) depth image was significantly increased. Depth image data of an object can be converted to 3D coordinates by simple arithmetic calculation and then can be reconstructed as a 3D model on computer. However, because the surface coordinates can be acquired only from the front area facing Kinect, total solid which has a closed surface cannot be reconstructed. In this paper, 3D registration method for multiple Kinects was suggested, in which surface information from each Kinect was simultaneously collected and registered in real time to build 3D total solid. To unify relative coordinate system used by each Kinect, 3D perspective transform was adopted. Also, to detect control points which are necessary to generate transformation matrix, 3D randomized Hough transform was used. Once transform matrices were generated, real time 3D reconstruction of various objects was possible. To verify the usefulness of suggested method, human arms were 3D reconstructed and the volumes of them were measured by using four Kinects. This volume measuring system was developed to monitor the level of lymphedema of patients after cancer treatment and the measurement difference with medical CT was lower than 5%, expected CT reconstruction error.
Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC)-based Automatic (game of) Go Recording System

This paper develops an automatic go recording system based on image processing. We use Random Sample Consensus to detect the circular shape of stone and propose a set of methods to improve the computational overhead of RANSAC. The proposed scheme is not affected by the changes of stone location, illumination, and camera distance, which is different from existing methods. We implemented the proposed scheme into a working system and confirmed that the recording is feasible and the problems have been improved.
Cause Analysis and Removal of Boundary Artifacts in Image Deconvolution

In this paper, we conducted a cause analysis on boundary artifacts in image deconvolution. Results of the cause analysis show that boundary artifacts are caused not only by a misuse of boundary conditions but also by no use of the normalized backprojection. Results also showed that the correct use of boundary conditions does not necessarily remove boundary artifacts. Based on these observations, we suggest not to use any specific boundary conditions and to use the normalized backprojector for boundary artifact-free image deconvolution.
Reversible Secret Image Sharing Scheme Using Histogram Shifting and Difference Expansion

In this paper, we propose a (2,2)-reversible secret image sharing scheme using histogram shifting and difference expansion. Two techniques are widely used in information hiding. Advantages of them are the low distortion between cover and stego images, and high embedding capacity. In secret image sharing procedure, unlike Shamir's secret sharing, a histogram generate that the difference value between the original image and copy image is computed by difference expansion. And then, the secret image is embedded into original and copy images by using histogram shifting. Lastly, two generated shadow images are distributed to each participant by the dealer. In the experimental results, we measure a capacity of a secret image and a distortion ratio between original image and shadow image. The results show that the embedding capacity and image distortion ratio of the proposed scheme are superior to the previous schemes.
Analyzing Operation Deviation in the Deasphalting Process Using Multivariate Statistics Analysis Method

In the case of system like MES, various sensors collect the data in real time and save it as a big data to monitor the process. However, if there is big data mining in distributed computing system, whole processing process can be improved. In this paper, system to analyze the cause of operation deviation was built using the big data which has been collected from deasphalting process at the two different plants. By applying multivariate statistical analysis to the big data which has been collected through MES(Manufacturing Execution System), main cause of operation deviation was analyzed. We present the example of analyzing the operation deviation of deasphalting process using the big data which collected from MES by using multivariate statistics analysis method. As a result of regression analysis of the forward stepwise method, regression equation has been found which can explain 52% increase of performance compare to existing model. Through this suggested method, the existing petrochemical process can be replaced which is manual analysis method and has the risk of being subjective according to the tester. The new method can provide the objective analysis method based on numbers and statistic.
An Exploratory Study on Usage of Korean Consonants and Vowels for Delivering Emotion

On Korean websites, people often use several Korean vowels or consonants solely, which is the way to express emotion. This way of expression has scarcely been examined seriously, though it is one of the most popular online slangs. This is an exploratory study that reveals how and how much these expressions are used on social media. Data crawling technique was used as a way to examine the usage of vowels and consonants in ordinary situations. 6 'Facebook pages' popular among Korean users are selected, and about 2.5 million comments are collected from posts in those pages. 10 expressions, including 'ㅋ(K)', 'ㅎ(H)', 'ㅜ(U)', are counted and analyzed from the collected texts of comments. As a result, several patterns of using vowels and consonants are found. Especially, 'ㅋ(K)' is used much more frequently than other vowels or consonants, and used more continually. It is also found that the patterns of using vowels or consonants in writing comments changes as the mood of posts or the characteristics of Facebook pages.
A Study of Standby Power Control Based on Zigbee in Smart Home

This paper designs and implements the 2 plug type standby power control outlet based on IEEE 802.15.4 using Zigbee and IPv6 network in order to reduce the standby power to the user. The standby power control system is consisted of direct power and standby power plug. Also this system can communicate bidirectionally in wireless because built-in wireless communication modules. One gateway is linked with many standby power control outlet in wireless. Each standby power control outlet executes the operation needed in power control independently. Also each standby power control outlet has its own power can be detected in real time independently of the power can be controlled.
Development of Sensor Node for Temperature Monitoring of Livestock Based on IEEE 802.15.4

Recently, domestic animal disease caused tremendous damage to farmhouses and the damage stretched in nationwide with the spread of epidemic disease. To prevent animal diseases from happening again, the system development to easily measure the temperature of sick animals and identify of them is needed, thereby quickly treat them, reducing losses of farmhouses. However, a lack of related equipment and human resource hampered its effort to minimize its losses. This study tries to develop diagnosis system as part of measures to curb these domestic animal diseases. This paper present the 센서 node based on IEEE 802.15.4 which can be attached to the animal body for real-time temperature measurement. We design and implement tiny chip-type that can be attached to the body of animals. Then, we use available power only when measuring temperatures in a long term-basis. An Analysis of Exhibition Video Contents in International Trade Show-Focused on the ISE 2013

Recently the trade show is a massive marketing effort of a particular industry and introduces new products to potential customers, as well as the ability to elevate the brand's image and corporate identity. It is increasing its importance as a venue of communication. In these changes, the exhibition is required to have the emotional approach to enhance the dynamic and creative image of companies. Therefore, the product itself as well as the importance of various visual contents of the exhibition is increasing positive effect of the image and marketing on their products. In this sense, this study analyzes video contents of the exhibition that was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Europe's largest display show 'ISE (Integrated Systems Europe)' in 2013, focusing on the domestic company, Samsung, LG Electronics and other four foreign companies. The analysis is based on the Herbert Zettl's applied media aesthetics related to the video contents, through which we can find the way to the development of exhibition video contents making for Trade show.
Paint Simulation System Representing the Paint Characteristics Reflecting Opinions of Audiences

There are many studies to create realistic paint effects and the research area still has attracted attention in these days. However, the consideration for the characteristics of the real paint effects from the point of viewers is not enough. In this paper, we extract the important paint features and survey the importance values. Based on the survey results, we suggest a new paint system. The paint system utilizes the paint simulation that reflects viscoelasticity and mixing suggested by You et al. (2013) and proposes the paint rendering method that represents the details of a paint, a solvent, and pigments. We survey the quality of our results and prove that our paint system is superior to the previous studies.
