Automatic Analysis of Bone Formation in a Mouse Model of Frontal Bone Defect

In this paper, we propose a method for automatically analyzing the bone formation in a mouse model of frontal bone defect. We perforate two holes of 0.8mm diameter in the frontal bone and observe the bone formation process using a micro CT. Because the conventional analysis software of the micro CT does not support automatic analysis of the bone formation status, we have to use a manual analysis method. However the manual analysis is very cumbersome and requires a lot of time, we propose an automatic analysis method. It rotates the image around three axes directions so that the mouse's skull come into regular position. It calculates the cumulative image of the voxel values for the perforated bone surface. It estimates the hole location by finding the darkest point in the cumulative image. The proposed method was applied to 24 CT images of saline administration group and PTH administration group and hole location was estimated. BV/TV index was calculated for the estimated hole to evaluate the bone formation status. Experimental results showed that bone formation process is more active in PTH administration group. The method proposed in this paper could replace successfully the cumbersome and time consuming manual job.
Extraction of an Effective Saliency Map for Stereoscopic Images using Texture Information and Color Contrast

In this paper, we propose a method that constructs a saliency map in which important regions are accurately specified and the colors of the regions are less influenced by the similar surrounding colors. Our method utilizes LBP(Local Binary Pattern) histogram information to compare and analyze texture information of surrounding regions in order to reduce the effect of color information. We extract the saliency of stereoscopic images by integrating a 2D saliency map with depth information of stereoscopic images. We then measure the distance between two different sizes of the LBP histograms that are generated from pixels. The distance we measure is texture difference between the surrounding regions. We then assign a saliency value according to the distance in LBP histogram. To evaluate our experimental results, we measure the F-measure compared to ground-truth by thresholding a saliency map at 0.8. The average F-Measure is 0.65 and our experimental results show improved performance in comparison with existing other saliency map extraction methods.
Region-based Face Makeup using two example face images

In this paper, we propose a new method of eye, face, and lip makeup techniques on the target face image from several makeup examples without losing detail features such as eyelids, eyebrows, hair. After detection of the feature layer for the skin, we applied our makeup techniques to the target face by using a blending technique. We used a cartoon rendering using bilateral filter. In order to smoothly makeup the target face, we created two Gaussian Weight maps for natural skin makeup effects. Our method did not need to perform complex operations, so the makeup results are so natural. Our experimental results show good performances in various makeups.
A Color Correction Method for High-Dynamic-Range Images Based on Human Visual Perception

For last several decades, the color correction methods have been proposed for HDR(high dynamic range) images. However, color distortion problems take place after correcting the colors such as halos, dominant color as well known. Accordingly, this article presents a novel approach in which the method consists of tone-mapping method and cone response function. In the proposed method, the tone mapping method is used to improve the contrast in the given HDR image based on chromatic and achromatic based on the CIEXYZ tristimulus value, expressed in c/m
. The cone response function is used to deal with mismatch between corrected image and displayed image as well as to estimate various human visual effects based on the CMCAT2000 color appearance model. The experimental results show that the proposed method yields better performance of color correction over the conventional method in subjective and quantitative quality, and color reproduction.
Feature Generation Method for Low-Resolution Face Recognition

We propose a feature generation method for low-resolution face recognition. For this, we first generate new features from the input features (pixels) of a low-resolution face image by adding the higher-order terms. Then, we evaluate the separability of both of the original input features and new features by computing the discriminant distance of each feature. Finally, new data sample used for recognition consists of the features with high separability. The experimental results for the FERET, CMU-PIE and Yale B databases show that the proposed method gives good recognition performance for low-resolution face images compared with other method.
A Study on Real-Time Position Analysis and Wireless Transmission Technology for Effective Acquisition of Video Recording Information in UAV Video Surveillance

In this paper, we propose an effective wireless transmission technology, under poor wireless transmission channel surroundings caused by speedy flying, that are able to transmit high quality video recording information and surveillance data via accessing to various wireless networking services architecture such as One-on-One, Many-on-One, One-on-Many, Over the Horizon. The Real-Time Position Analysis(RAPA) method is also suggested to provide more meaningful video information of shooting area. The suggested wireless transmission technology and RAPA can make remote control of UAV's flight route to get valuable topography information. Because of the benefit to get both of video information and GPS data of shooting area simultaneously, the result of study can be applied to various application sphere including UAV that requires high speed wireless transmission.
A Basic Study on the Development of a BIM-based Realtime Performance Evaluation Technology for the User Life Safety in the Buildings

Dweller's safety is one of the most important factors for the evaluation of building performance. The process of conventional safety design which is normally performed by the codes and designer's experiences is not enough to check the whole possibilities of unexpected accidents in the built environment. It means that the dwellers might be always exposed by the dangerous situation which should have been removed in the architectural design process. In order to solve this problem, this study intends to introduce a rule-based performance evaluation technology based on BIM(Building Information Modeling). The proposed technology focuses on the real time evaluation of dweller's safety in the ordinary life in the designed building alternatives and uses a commercial BIM tool as a design and evaluation platform.
A Movie Recommendation Method based on Emotion Ontology

Due to the rapid advancement of the mobile technology, smart phones have been widely used in the current society. This lead to an easier way to retrieve video contents using web and mobile services. However, it is not a trivial problem to retrieve particular video contents based on users' specific preferences. The current movie recommendation system is based on the users' preference information. However, this system does not consider any emotional means or perspectives in each movie, which results in the dissatisfaction of user's emotional requirements. In order to address users' preferences and emotional requirements, this research proposes a movie recommendation technology to represent a movie's emotion and its associations. The proposed approach contains the development of emotion ontology by representing the relationship between the emotion and the concepts which cause emotional effects. Based on the current movie metadata ontology, this research also developed movie-emotion ontology based on the representation of the metadata related to the emotion. The proposed movie recommendation method recommends the movie by using movie-emotion ontology based on the emotion knowledge. Using this proposed approach, the user will be able to get the list of movies based on their preferences and emotional requirements.

A Service Composition using Hierarchical Model in Multiple Service Environment

Internet-of-Things (IoT) becomes one of the most promising future paradigms, which foresees enormous amounts of interoperable things and heterogeneous services. The goal of IoT is to enable all things connected and brings all kinds information and services to people. However, such a great deal of information may lead to cognitive overload or restrain in productivity of people. Thus, it is a necessity to build intelligent mechanisms to assist people in accessing the information or services they needed in a proactive manner. Most of previous related mechanisms are built on well-defined web services and lack of consideration of constrained resources. This paper suggests a services composition method by adapting a hierarchical model, which is a graph-based model composed of four layers: Context Layer, Event Layer, Service Layer and Device Layer. With a such multi-layer graph, service composition can be achieved by the iteration of layer by layer. Then, to evaluate the effectiveness of this proposed hierarchical model, a real-life emergency response dataset is applied and the experimental results are composed with the general probabilistic method and indicate that the proposed method is help for compositing multiple services while considering given context and constrained resources.
A Study on the Improving Performance of Massively Small File Using the Reuse JVM in MapReduce

With the widespread use of smartphones and IoT (Internet of Things), data are being generated on a large scale, and there is increased for the analysis of such data. Hence, distributed processing systems have gained much attention. Hadoop, which is a distributed processing system, saves the metadata of stored files in name nodes; in this case, the main problems are as follows: the memory becomes insufficient; load occurs because of massive small files; scheduling and file processing time increases because of the increased number of small files. In this paper, we propose a solution to address the increase in processing time because of massive small files, and thus improve the processing performance, using the Reuse JVM method provided by Hadoop. Through environment setting, the Reuse JVM method modifies the JVM produced conventionally for every task, so that multiple tasks are reused sequentially in one JVM. As a final outcome, the Reuse JVM method showed the best processing performance when used together with CombineFileInputFormat.

During the last decade, the business infrastructure has become digital with increased interconnections among products, processes, and services. Across many firms spanning different industries and sectors, digital technologies are fundanmentally transforming business stratiges, business processes, firm capabilities, productes and services, and key interfirm relationships in extended business networks. With the emergence of smartphones, the paradigm of the ICT industry is rapidly changing as the line between global and local markets are being blurred. In the changing global environment, although some game companies are accelerating the improvement of their global competitiveness and cases of successes of venture enterprises by developing biosimilar technology are being discovered, majority of ICT companies are focusing on limited marketing activities to get subcontracts or projects from large companies. Thus the aim of this study is to find out how digital ecosystems evolve and how business models and strategies have changed of individual companies according to the evolution of the digital ecosystems.
The Influence of Players' Self-Esteem, Game-Efficacy, and Social Capital on Life Satisfaction Focused on Hedonic and Eudaimonic Happiness

The current study explores a possible mechanism through which game users' integrated sociopsychological factors lead to a higher level of life satisfaction, based on desire-fulfillment theory as well as hedonic and eudaimonic approaches to happiness. Using data from a survey of 789 game users in South Korea, we tested the relationships of psychological variables (self-esteem and game and life-efficacy), social variables (bonding and bridging social capital), and demographic variables (age and gender) with life satisfaction. Results show that self-esteem and game efficacy were an important antecedent to the degree of users' life satisfaction. Both bonding and bridging social capital increased life satisfaction. The importance of perspectives as well as their implications for game users and further associated research is explored.
Developing the Core Modules of for Viz-Platform for Supporting Public Service in the City

The purpose of this research is creating the visualization platform of the user interface to make able to be provide the demanded service while users communication with surrounding space in a smart city environment. This comes from the latest enhanced interface technology and social media, and it uses the shares information to support the proper interface environment according to a life style and spatial properties. "EzCity" which is the user interface platform suggested in this research, can control the enormous amount of public data for the smart city. The core module of user platform is made up with Public data module, Interface module, Visualization module and Service module. The role of this platform is to be provide "Geo-Intelligent Interface Service" for space users to access the data in easier and more practical interface environment. This reinforces the visualization process for data collecting, systematization, visualization and providing service. Also this will be expected to be the base to solve the problem which complexity and rapidly increasing amount of data.
Effects of Tourism Storytelling on Satisfaction and Behavioral Intention of Chinese Tourists in Jeju

The purpose of this research is to analyze the factor of tourism storytelling through literature review, to figure out the relations of tourism storytelling-tourism satisfaction and tourism satisfaction -behavior intention. The total number of the questionnaire copies handed out was 440, and the 384 copies of them (the 184copies from Chinese tourists, and 200copies from Korean tourists) were used for the analysis. The results were as follows. First, it was found that the factor of tourism storytelling has influence on tourism satisfaction. Second, it was also found that the tourism satisfaction has influence on behavioral intention as well. And based on the above results, the research has figured out what factors of tourism storytelling mostly affect tourism satisfaction. By comparing Chinese and Korean tourist, and ultimately, suggested the best way to utilize this storytelling idea in a tourist area.
