Mobile NDT Inspection System Using Ultrasonic

In order to inspect the quality of spot welding, inefficient destructive test and NDT (non destructive testing) utilizing expensive foreign ultrasonic inspection are being conducted in the automobile production lines, but NDT will be difficult to be used in the domestic automobile production due to complexity of the waveform analysis and lack of mobility. In this paper, NDT system inspecting the quality of spot welding based on mobile network is proposed to complement drawbacks of the conventional inefficient destructive testing and NDT inspecting the quality of spot welding. Regardless of daily condition of NDT tester, the proposed NDT system can determine the quality of spot welding automatically and transmit the information of NDT quality to smart devices of field workers in real-time so that convenience of NDT and productivity of automobile production will be improved. Several specimens with a variety of welding quality was produced to evaluate the performance of the proposed mobile ultrasonic NDT system and the conventional foreign equipment, through this experiments, the proposed mobile ultrasonic NDT system indicate the superior properties compared to the conventional equipment in terms of convenience, productivity, and economic.
An Estimation Method for Location Coordinate of Object in Image Using Single Camera and GPS

ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and street furniture information collecting car like as MMS(Mobile Mapping System), they require object location estimation method for recognizing spatial information of object in road images. But, the case of conventional methods, these methods require additional hardware module for gathering spatial information of object and have high computational complexity. In this paper, for a coordinate of road sign in single camera image, a position estimation scheme of object in road images is proposed using the relationship between the pixel and object size in real world. In this scheme, coordinate value and direction are used to get coordinate value of a road sign in images after estimating the equation related on pixel and real size of road sign. By experiments with test video set, it is confirmed that proposed method has high accuracy for mapping estimated object coordinate into commercial map. Therefore, proposed method can be used for MMS in commercial region.
Efficient Implementation Method Of Depth Image Segmentation In SoC System

This paper propose implementation method of SoC system for efficient depth image segmentation. SoC systems are combined platform in the form of the Software and Hardware IP. In order to perform effectively, the user to determine the operation of the configuration of each part. In this paper, we implemented a segmentation of depth images taken by the infrared sensor at APU of SoC system. The proposed method efficiently implements high performance and low power in SoC system. Proposed method that using software parts of SoC system is capable to use at several depth image processing systems.
Noise Cancellation Algorithm of Bone Conduction Speech Signal using Feature of Noise in Separated Band

In mobile communication, air conduction(AC) speech signal had been commonly used, but it was easily affected by ambient noise environment such as emergency, military action and rescue. To overcome the weakness of the AC speech signal, bone conduction(BC) speech signal have been used. The BC speech signal is transmitted through bone vibration, so it is affected less by the background noise. In this paper, we proposed noise cancellation algorithm of the BC speech signal using noise feature of decomposed bands. The proposed algorithm consist of three steps. First, the BC speech signal is divided into 17 bands using perceptual wavelet packet decomposition. Second, threshold is calculated by noise feature during short time of separated-band and compared to absolute average of the signal frame. Therefore, the speech and noise parts are detected. Last, the detected noise parts are removed and then, noise eliminated bands are re-synthesised. In order to confirm the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, we compared the proposed algorithm with conventional algorithm. And the proposed algorithm has better performance than the conventional algorithm.
Performance Analysis of Brightness-Combined LLAH

LLAH(Locally Likely Arrangement Hashing) is a method which describes image features by exploiting the geometric relationship between their neighbors. Inherently, it is more robust to large view change and poor scene texture than conventional texture-based feature description methods. However, LLAH strongly requires that image features should be detected with high repeatability. The problem is that such requirement is difficult to satisfy in real applications. To alleviate the problem, this paper proposes a method that improves the matching rate of LLAH by exploiting together the brightness of features. Then, it is verified that the matching rate is increased by about 5% in experiments with synthetic images in the presence of Gaussian noise.
Topological Analysis of Spaces of Waveform Signals

This paper presents methods to analyze the topological structures of the spaces composed of patches extracted from waveform signals, which can be applied to the classification of signals. Commute time embedding is performed to transform the patch sets into the corresponding geometries, which has the properties that the embedding geometries of periodic or quasi-periodic waveforms are represented as closed curves on the low dimensional Euclidean space, while those of aperiodic signals have the shape of open curves. Persistent homology is employed to determine the topological invariants of the simplicial complexes constructed by randomly sampling the commute time embedding of the waveforms, which can be used to discriminate between the groups of waveforms topologically.
An Analysis of Effective Throughput in Distributed Wireless Scheduling

Several distributed scheduling policies have been proposed with the objective of attaining the maximum throughput region or a guaranteed fraction throughput region. These policies consider only the theoretical throughput and do not account the lost in throughput due to the time complexity of implementing an algorithm in practice. Therefore, we propose a novel concept called effective throughput to characterize the actual throughput by taking into account the time complexity. Effective throughput can be viewed as the actual transmitted data without including the control message overhead. Numerical results demonstrate that in practical scheduling, time complexity significantly affects throughput. The performance of throughput degrades when the time complexity is high.
Develop 3D Prostate Cancer Visualization Tool in Smart Care System

In Korea, prostate cancer accounted for generating growth rate second the following thyroid cancer, because of western dietary habits. Survival rate of prostate cancer after clinical behavior is changed depend on follow-up management. A telemedicine have been applied to replacement of medical specialist in rural area, and a quick reaction to emergency situation. Our study developed prostate 3-dimensional (3D) visualization program and designed prostate aftercare system architecture, called smart care, using a device that can access the Internet. Region of interest (ROI) in prostate was manually segmented by physicians and visualized to 3D objects and sent to PACS Server as DICOM images. So, medical personnel could confirm patients' data along with 3D images not only PACS system, but also portable device like a smart phone. As a result, we conducted the aftercare service to 98 patients and visualize 3D prostate images. 3D images had advantage to instinctively apprehend where lesion is and make patients to understand state of their disease easily. In the future, should conduct an aftercare service to more patients, and will obtain numerical index through follow-up study to an accurate analysis.
Design of OpenScenario Structure for Content Creation Service Based on User Defined Story

It is a story-based content creation service that provides any user with some proper contents based on a story written by the user in order to utilize a lot of contents accumulated on Internet. For this service, the story has to be described in computer-readable representation. In this paper, analyzing the structure of scenario, as known as screenplay or scripts, a structure of story representation, which is referred to as OpenScenario, is defined. We intend users to produce their own contents by using massive contents on Internet by the proposed method. The proposed method's OpenScenario consists two main parts, OSD (OpenScenario Descriptors) which is a set of descriptors to describe various objects of shots such as visual, aural and textual objects and OSS (OpenScenario Scripts) which is a set of scripts to add some effects such as image, caption, transition between shots, and background music. As an usecase of proposed method, we describe how to create new content using OpenScenario and discuss some required technologies to apply the proposed method effectively.
Fire Detection Algorithm Based On Motion Information and Color Information Analysis

In this paper, we propose a fire detection algorithm based on motion information and color information analysis. Conventional fire detection algorithms have as main problem the difficulty to detect fire due to external light, intensity, background image complexity, and little fire diffusion. So we propose a fire detection algorithm that accurate and fast. First, it analyzes the motion information in video data and then set the first candidate. Second, it determines this domain after analyzing the color and the domain. This algorithm assures a fast fire detection and a high accuracy compared with conventional fire detection algorithms. Our algorithm will be useful to real-time fire detection in real world.
An Adaptive Feedback Canceller for Fully Implantable Hearing Device Using Tympanic Membrane Installed Microphone

Many implantable hearing aids are being developed as alternatives to conventional hearing aids which has inconveniences for use and social stigma that make hearing-impaired people avoid to wear it. Particularly, the fully-implantable middle ear hearing devices (F-IMEHD) are being actively studied for mixed or sensorineural hearing impaired people. In development of F-IMEHD, the most difficult problem is improving the performance of implantable microphone. Recently, Cho et al. have studied the tympanic membrane installed microphone which has better sensitivity and is easier to operate on patient than the microphone implanted under the skin. But, it may cause howling problem due to the feedback signal via oval window and ossicle chain from the transducer on round window in the middle ear cavity, therefore, a feedback canceller is necessary. In this paper, we designed NLMS (normalized least mean square) adaptive feedback canceller for F-IMEHD with tympanic membrane installed microphone and a transducer implemented at round window, and computer simulation was performed to verify its operation. The designed adaptive feedback canceller has a delay filter, a 64 point FIR fixed filter and a 8-tap adaptive FIR filter. Computer simulation of the feedback path is modeled by using the data obtained through human cadaver experiment.
An Effective Fast Algorithm of BCS-SPL Decoding Mechanism for Smart Imaging Devices

Compressed sensing is a signal processing technique for efficiently acquiring and reconstructing in an under-sampled (i.e., under Nyquist rate) representation. A block compressed sensing with projected Landweber (BCS-SPL) framework is most widely known, but, it has high computational complexity at decoder side. In this paper, by introducing adaptive exit criteria instead of fixed exit criteria to SPL framework, an effective fast algorithm is designed in such a way that it can utilize efficiently the sparsity property in DCT coefficients during the iterative thresholding process. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm results in the significant reduction of the decoding time, while providing better visual qualities than conventional algorithm.
Performance Comparison of Algorithm through Classification of Parkinson's Disease According to the Speech Feature

The purpose of this study was to classify healty persons and Parkinson disease patients from the vocal characteristics of healty persons and the of Parkinson disease patients using Machine Learning algorithms. So, we compared the most widely used algorithms for Machine Learning such as J48 algorithm and REPTree algorithm. In order to evaluate the classification performance of the two algorithms, the results were compared with depending on vocal characteristics. The classification performance of depending on vocal characteristics show 88.72% and 84.62%. The test results showed that the J48 algorithms was superior to REPTree algorithms.
Real-Time Pig Segmentation for Individual Pig Monitoring in a Weaning Pig Room

To reduce huge losses in pig farms, weaning pigs with weak immune systems are required to be carefully supervised. Even if various researches have been performed for livestock monitoring environment, segmenting each pig from touching pigs is still entrenched as a difficult problem. In this paper, we propose a real-time segmentation method for moving pigs by using motion information in a 24-h video surveillance system. The experimental results with the videos obtained from a domestic pig farm illustrated the possibility for segmenting by using our proposed method in real-time.
3D Visualization System of Blood Flow Reconstructed using Curvature Estimation

The methodology to visualize the shape of blood vessel and its blood flow have been attracting as a very interesting problem to forecast and examinate a disease in thrombus precursor protein. May previous visualization researches have been appeared for designing the blood vessel and also modeling the blood flow using a doppler imaging technique which is one of nondestructive testing techniques. General visualization methods are to depict the blood flow obtained from doppler effects with fragmentary stream lines and also visualize the blood flow model using volume rendering. However, these visualizeation techniques have the disadvantage which a set of small line segments does not give the overall observation of blood flows. Therefore, we propose a visualization system which reconstruct the continuity of the blood flow obtained from doppler effects and also visualize the blood flow with the vector field of blood particles. This system will use doppler phase difference from medical equipments such as OCT with low penetration and reconstruct the blood flow by the curvature estimation from vector field of each blood particle.
Color Image Enhancement Using a Retinex Algorithm with Bilateral Filtering for Images with Poor Illumination

Color enhancement basically deals with color manipulation in digital images. Recently, the technique has become widely used as a result of the increasing use of digital cameras. Retinex-based colorenhancement algorithms are a popular technique. In this paper, retinex with bilateral filtering is proposed to improve the quality of poorly illuminated images. Generally, it consists of three main steps: first, a retinex-based algorithm with color restoration; second, transformation mapping using histogram matching; and finally, smoothing the image using a bilateral filter. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can successfully enhance image contrast while avoiding the halo effect and maintaining the color distribution in the image.
Indoor Location and Pose Estimation Algorithm using Artificial Attached Marker

This paper presents a real-time indoor location and pose estimation method that utilizes simple artificial markers and image analysis techniques for the purpose of warehouse automation. The conventional indoor localization methods cannot work robustly in warehouses where severe environmental changes usually occur due to the movement of stocked goods. To overcome this problem, the proposed framework places artificial markers having different interior pattern on the predefined position of the warehouse floor. The proposed algorithm obtains marker candidate regions from a captured image by a simple binarization and labeling procedure. Then it extracts maker interior pattern information from each candidate region in order to decide whether the candidate region is a true marker or not. The extracted interior pattern information and the outer boundary of the marker are used to estimate location and heading angle of the localization system. Experimental results show that the proposed localization method can provide high performance which is almost equivalent to that of the conventional method using an expensive LIDAR sensor and AMCL algorithm.
Road Sign Recognition and Geo-content Creation Schemes for Utilizing Road Sign Information

Road sign is an important street furniture that gives some information such as road conditions, driving direction and condition for a driver. Thus, road sign is a major target of image recognition for self-driving car, ADAS(autonomous vehicle and intelligent driver assistance systems), and ITS(intelligent transport systems). In this paper, an enhanced road sign recognition system is proposed for MMS(Mobile Mapping System) using the single camera and GPS. For the proposed system, first, a road sign recognition scheme is proposed. this scheme is composed of detection and classification step. In the detection step, object candidate regions are extracted in image frames using hybrid road sign detection scheme that is based on color and shape features of road signs. And, in the classification step, the area of candidate regions and road sign template are compared. Second, a Geo-marking scheme for geo-content that is consist of road sign image and coordinate value is proposed. If the serious situation such as car accident is happened, this scheme can protect geographical information of road sign against illegal users. By experiments with test video set, in the three parts that are road sign recognition, coordinate value estimation and geo-marking, it is confirmed that proposed schemes can be used for MMS in commercial area.
Video Based Pedestrian Height Estimation Using Winer Optimization

In this paper, we proposed a method which can detect pedestrians from CCTV video and estimate the height of the detected objects. We separate the foreground using Gaussian mixture model and the pedestrian is detected using the conditions such as the width-height ratio and the size of the candidate objects. In order to obtain the optimal model for estimating the height of pedestrian, we get many training data from the pedestrian whose height is known. Using these training data, we designed optimal Wiener height estimator and used to estimate the height of pedestrians. The height of the pedestrian at various distance is estimated and the accuracy is evaluated. In the experimental results, proposed method shows that it can estimate the height of pedestrian for various positions effectively.
A New 3D Depth Reconstruction Method Adaptive to Various Environments

The recent development of the HD (High Definition) and UHD (Ultra High Definition) technology allowed the growth of 3D contents market. Yet the majority of the 3D contents in the market are strictly for 6.5 cm inter-ocular distance, causing various visual discomforts for the viewers who have different inter-ocular distance. Moreover, because the 3D contents are created for a fixed viewing distance, the change of the viewing distances when watching 3D contents can also cause visual conflicts. To solve this problem, we devised techniques that consider the environmental information of the viewer watching 3D contents. By analyzing the relationship between viewing distance, inter-ocular distance, and perceived depth, we created an adaptive content viewing system that reflects the viewer's environment to minimize any conflicts in watching 3D contents. From our experiments, we found that the performance of our adaptive content viewing system was reasonable.
Layered Pattern Authentication Scheme on Smartphone Resistant to Social Engineering Attacks

In this paper, we propose a layered pattern authentication scheme resistant to social engineering attacks. Existing android pattern lock scheme has some weak points for social engineering attacks. Thus, the proposed scheme improves the existing pattern lock scheme. In our scheme, pattern is recorded by touch screen, however, it is different with existing schemes because of the layered pattern. During the pattern registration process, users register their own pattern with many layers. Thus, registered pattern is 3D shape. When the smudge attack is occurring, the attacker can see the shape of user pattern through the smudge on smartphone screen. However, it is described on 2D surface, so acquired pattern is not fully determine to users original 3D shape. Therefore, our scheme is resistant to social engineering attack, especially smudge attack.
A Data Caching Management Scheme for NDN

To enhance network efficiency, named-data networking (NDN) implements data caching functionality on intermediate network nodes, and then the nodes directly respond to request messages for cached data. Through the processing of request messages in intermediate node, NDN can efficiently reduce the amount of network traffic, also solve network congestion problems near data sources. Also, NDN provides a data authenticate mechanism so as to prevent various Internet accidents caused from the absence of an authentication mechanism. Hence, through applying NDN to various smart IT convergence services, it is expected to efficiently control the explosive growth of network traffic as well as to provide more secure services. Basically, it is important factors of NDN which data is cached and where nodes caching data is located in a network topology. This paper first analyzes previous works caching content based on the popularity of the content. Then ii investigates the hitting rate of caches in each node of a network topology, and then propose an improved caching scheme based on the result of the analyzation. Finally, it evaluates the performance of the proposal.
Design of Secure Log System in Cloud Computing Environment

Cloud computing that provide a elastic computing service is more complex compared to the existing computing systems. Accordingly, it has become increasingly important to maintain the stability and reliability of the computing system. And troubleshooting and real-time monitoring to address these challenges must be performed essentially. For these goals, the handling of the log data is needed, but this task in cloud computing environment may be more difficult compared to the traditional logging system. In addition, there are another challenges in order to have the admissibility of the collected log data in court. In this paper, we design secure logging service that provides the management and reliability of log data in a cloud computing environment and then analyze the proposed system.
A Secure Social Networking Site based on OAuth Implementation

With the advancement in the area of cloud storage services as well as a tremendous growth of social networking sites, permission for one web service to act on the behalf of another has become increasingly vital as social Internet services such as blogs, photo sharing, and social networks. With this increased cross-site media sharing, there is a upscale of security implications and hence the need to formulate security protocols and considerations. Recently, OAuth, a new protocol for establishing identity management standards across services, is provided as an alternative way to share the user names and passwords, and expose personal information to attacks against on-line data and identities. Moreover, OwnCloud provides an enterprise file synchronizing and sharing that is hosted on user's data center, on user's servers, using user's storage. We propose a secure Social Networking Site (SSN) access based on OAuth implementation by combining two novel concepts of OAuth and OwnCloud. Security analysis and performance evaluation are given to validate the proposed scheme.

This paper proposes a message transfer application using smartphone with NFC(Near Field Communication) and GCM(Goolge Cloud Messaging) technology for prevention of personal information leakage. In implementing for the proposed system, we design a NFC-based vehicle status alerts service which make it possible to communicate with smartpone message without phone-number between a car driver and an unspecified person. The application provides message communication mechanism without exposing the real phone number, using the NFC tag written with the driver's smartphone device ID and GCM push messages. Through the evaluation result of the actual implemented application, the proposed system can be efficient technology in protection for leakage of personal information such as personal phone- number in daily life.
A Study on the Segmentation for Adaptation of Web Contents in Smart Learning Environment

The development of smart technology has brought the conversion of closed traditional e-learning contents into open flexible smart learning contents consisting of learner-centered modules, without the constraints of time and space by use of smart devices from the uniformed and passive classroom between teachers and learners. It has been demanded an open, personalized and customized teaching and learning contents of smart education and training systems according to wide supply of various smart devices. In this paper, we discuss about the status of the smart teaching and learning systems and analyze the characteristics and structure of the web contents for smart education and training systems by use of smart devices. And we propose a method how to block web contents, to extract them, and adapt personalized segments of web contents by adaptive algorithm into smart learning devices. We extract blocks from the web contents based on the smart device information and the preference information of the learners from existing web contents without the hassle of learners environment. After specifying a block priority from the extracted web contents by the adaptive segment algorithm, it can be displayed directly to the screen to fit the individual learning progress of the learners.
Arduino-based Tangible User Interfaces Smart Puck Systems

In this paper, we developed a low cost smart puck system that can interact with the intuitive operation of natural finger touches. The tangible smart puck, designed for capacitive tabletop display, has Arduino embedded processor which communicates only with the MT server. The MT server communicates both to the smart puck and the display server. The display server displays the relevance information on the location of the smart pucks on the tabletop display and handles interactions with the users. The experiment results show that the accuracy of identifying the smart puck ID was very reliable enough to use in practice, and the information presentation processing time is confirmed excellent enough compared to traditional expensive commercial products.
Development of a English Vocabulary Context-Learning Agent based on Smartphone

Recently, mobile application for english vocabulary learning is being developed actively. However, most mobile English vocabulary learning applications did not effectively connected with the technical advantages of mobile learning. Also,the study of mobile english vocabulary learning app are still insufficient. Therefore, this paper development a english vocabulary context-learning Agent that can practice context learning more reasonably using a location-based service, a character recognition technology and augmented reality technology based on smart phones. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed agent, we have measured the precision and usability. As results of experiments, the precision of learning vocabulary is 89% and 'Match between system and the real world', 'User control and freedom', 'Recognition rather than recall', 'Aesthetic and minimalist design' appeared to be respectively 3.91, 3.80, 3.85, 4.01 in evaluation of usability. It were obtained significant results.
High Efficiency 5A Synchronous DC-DC Buck Converter

This paper presents high efficiency 5A synchronous DC-DC buck converter. The proposed DC-DC buck converter works from 4.5V to 18V input voltage range, and provides up to 5A of continuous output current and output voltage adjustable down to 0.8V. This chip is packaged MCP(multi-chip package) with control chip, top side P-CH switch, and bottom side N-CH switch. This chip is designed in a 25V high voltage CMOS 0.35um technology. It has a maximum power efficiency of up to 94% and internal 3msec soft start and fixed 500KHz PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) operations. It also includes cycle by cycle current limit function, short and thermal shutdown protection circuit at 150℃. This chip size is 2190um*1130um includes scribe lane 10um.
Data Compression Method for Reducing Sensor Data Loss and Error in Wireless Sensor Networks

Since WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks) applied to their application areas such as smart home, smart factory, environment monitoring, etc., depend on sensor data, the sensor data is the most important among WSN components. The resources of each node consisting of WSN are extremely limited in energy, hardware and so on. Due to these limitation, communication failure probabilities become much higher and the communication failure causes data loss to occur. For this reason, this paper proposes 2MC (Maximum/Minimum Compression) that is a method to compress sensor data by selecting circular queue-based maximum/minimum sensor data values. Our proposed method reduces sensor data losses and value errors when they are recovered. Experimental results of 2MC method show the maximum/minimum 35% reduction efficiency in average sensor data accumulation error rate after the 3 times compression, comparing with CQP (Circular Queue Compression based on Period) after the compressed data recovering.
Design of External Coil System for Reducing Artifact of MR Image due to Implantable Hearing Aid

Recently, several implantable hearing aids such as cochlear implant, middle ear implant, etc., which have a module receiving power and signal from outside the body, are frequently used to treat the hearing impaired patients. Most of implantable hearing aids are adopted permanent magnet pairs to couple between internal and external devices for the enhancement of power transmission. Generally, the internal device which containing the magnet in the center of receiving coil is implanted under the skin of human temporal bone. In case of MRI scanning of a patient with the implantable hearing aid, however, homogeneous magnetic fields of the MRI might be interfered by the implanted magnet. For the above reasons, the MR image is degraded by large area of artifact, so that diagnostics are almost impossible in deteriorated region. In this paper, we proposed an external coil system that can reduce the artifact of MR image due to the internal coupling magnet. By finite element analysis estimating area of MR artifact according to varying current and shape of the external coil, optimal coil parameters were extracted. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed external coil system was verified by confirming the artifact at real MRI scan.
A Big-Data Trajectory Combination Method for Navigations using Collected Trajectory Data

In trajectory-based navigation systems, a huge amount of trajectory data is needed for efficient route explorations. However, it would be very hard to collect trajectories from all the possible start and destination combinations. To provide a practical solution to this problem, we suggest a method combining collected GPS trajectories data into additional generated trajectories with new start and destination combinations without road information. We present a trajectory combination algorithm and its implementation with Scala programming language on Spark platform for big data processing. The experimental results proved that the proposed method can effectively populate the collected trajectories into valid trajectory paths more than three hundred times.

Elevator industry is a field that is mechanical, electrical and electronic technology and constantly requires inspection and maintenance considering various applications and various types. Recently, various elevator control and monitoring technologies with IT are developing for elevators on land. But technologies with IT have been hardly done in marine elevator that is consistently assured safety and reliability of life cycle for its parts in poor environment. In this paper, we implemented embedded main controller, floor controller and car controller that meet the requirements and use NMEA network protocol by analyzing home and abroad integrated elevator operation and management systems. Especially, we secured reliability of maintenance by real-time fault diagnosis and control that was implemented with limit switch, gyro sensor, temperature/humidity/barometric pressure sensor and fire detection sensor thinking over the environmental conditions of terrestrial and marine elevator.
A Case Study of the Base Technology for the Smart Grid Security: Focusing on a Performance Improvement of the Basic Algorithm for the DDoS Attacks Detection Using CUDA

Since the development of Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) in 1999, the development speed of GPUs has become much faster than that of CPUs and currently, the computational power of GPUs exceeds CPUs dozens and hundreds times in terms of decimal calculations and costs much less. Owing to recent technological development of hardwares, general-purpose computing and utilization using GPUs are on the rise. Thus, in this paper, we have identified the elements to be considered for the Smart Grid Security. Focusing on a Performance Improvement of the Basic Algorithm for the Stateful Inspection to Detect DDoS Attacks using CUDA. In the program, we compared the search speeds of GPU against CPU while they search for the suffix trees. For the computation, the system constraints and specifications were made identical during the experiment. We were able to understand from the results of the experiment that the problem-solving capability improves when GPU is used. The other finding was that performance of the system had been enhanced when shared memory was used explicitly instead of a global memory as the volume of data became larger.
Realtime Vehicle Tracking and Region Detection in Indoor Parking Lot for Intelligent Parking Control

A smart parking management requires to track a vehicle in a indoor parking lot and to detect the place where the vehicle is parked. An advanced parking system watches all space of the parking lot with CCTV cameras. We can use these cameras for vehicles tracking and detection. In order to cover a wide area with a camera, a fisheye lens is used. In this case the shape and size of an moving vehicle vary much with distance and angle to the camera. This makes vehicle detection and tracking difficult. In addition to the fisheye lens, the vehicle headlights also makes vehicle detection and tracking difficult. This paper describes a method of realtime vehicle detection and tracking robust to the harsh situation described above. In each image frame, we update the region of a vehicle and estimate the vehicle movement. First we approximate the shape of a car with a quadrangle and estimate the four sides of the car using multiple histograms of oriented gradient. Second we create a template by applying a distance transform to the car region and estimate the motion of the car with a template matching method.
Smart SNS Map: Location-based Social Network Service Data Mapping and Visualization System

Hundreds of millions of new posts and information are being uploaded and propagated everyday on Online Social Networks(OSN) like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. This paper proposes and implements a GPS-location based SNS data mapping, analysis, and visualization system, called Smart SNS Map, which collects SNS data from Twitter and Instagram using hundreds of PlanetLab nodes distributed across the globe. Like no other previous systems, our system uniquely supports a variety of functions, including GPS-location based mapping of collected tweets and Instagram photos, keyword-based tweet or photo searching, real-time heat-map visualization of tweets and instagram photos, sentiment analysis, word cloud visualization, etc. Overall, a system like this, admittedly still in a prototype phase though, is expected to serve a role as a sort of social weather station sooner or later, which will help people understand what are happening around the SNS users, systems, society, and how they feel about them, as well as how they change over time and/or space.

There are a lot of sports when you left the victory and the defeat of the match the referee subjective judgment. In particular, TaeKwonDo pumse How accurate a given action? Is important. Objectively evaluate the subjective opinion of victory and defeat in a sporting event and the technology to keep as evidence is required. This study was implemented a system for recognizing Taekwondo executed through the number of motion recognition device. Step Sensor also used to detect a user's location. This study evaluated the rate matching the standard gesture data and the motion data. Through multiple gesture recognition equipment was more accurate assessment of the Taekwondo action.
An Approximation Algorithm based on First-fit Strategy for Template Packing Problem

This paper deals with a kind of packing problem of which the goal is to compose one or more templates which will be used to produce the items of different types. Each template consists of a fixed number of slots which are assigned to the different types of items and the production of the items is accomplished by printing the template repeatedly. The objective is to minimize the total number of produced items. This problem is known to be NP-hard. We present a polynomial time approximation algorithm which has a constant approximation ratio. The proposed algorithm is based on the well-known first-fit strategy.
Design and Implementation of Farm Pest Animals Repelling System Based on Open Source

The damages on the crops by the wild animals such as wild boars and water deer are serious in rural areas these days. In this paper, a low-cost and adaptive system based on open source for sensing and repelling farm pest animals is proposed. The system contains the server which is Arduino Due connected with the wireless communication modules such as RF, Zigbee, and WiFi module, speaker, and so on. It also has the sensing modules and LED blinkers which communicates with the server by wireless modules. Once a detecting signal is transmitted to the server. The server is waked up from sleep mode and the repelling subsystems such as loud speaker and LED blinker(s) are activated to scare the unwanted animal away. The total system is managed by Android smartphone easily.
The Effect of Flipped Learning on the 3D Computer Graphics Class

The teaching method of colleges and universities is traditionally lectures then professors has described orally in class and students has listened to accompanying with papers, mid-terms, and final exams. Jon Bergmann and Aaron Sams have developed new way of teaching called flipped learning; Classwork at home and homework in class. By adapting the method, this paper researched how efficient it is and what factors tutors should consider for better results. Specifically this research examined the flipped learning applying to basic 3D graphics class of J University in Korea and students answered surveys and took a couple of tests. Since the most students of the class did not have any background of 3D graphics, it was the first time for them to work with 3 dimensional space coordinate system. As a result, the research showed positive side of flipped learning like increasing peers' interest to the class and positive attitude about video lectures watched before coming to class.
Speech Synthesis System for Detected Objects by Smart Phone

This paper designs an application for detecting various objects using a smart phone with camera sensor, then implements the application that detects the number of faces in front of a user by using the Face API provided by android and generates a speech to the user. For implementing the application, the GoF strategy pattern is applied to design the application. It provides some advantages; first, the algorithm development schedule can separate the whole application development schedule; next, it makes easier to add the algorithm. For example, another detecting algorithm for the other objects (character, motion detection) that may be developed in the future, or it may be replaced by a more high-performance algorithm. With the propose method, a general smart phone can make some advantages that can provide information of various objects (such as moving people and objects, and detected character from signboards) to the person who is visually impaired.
Study on the 3D Modeling Data Conversion Algorithm from 2D Images

In this paper, the algorithm which can convert a 2D image into a 3D Model will be discussed. The 2D picture drawn by a user is scanned for image processing. The Canny algorithm is employed to find the contour. The waterfront algorithm is proposed to find foreground image area. The foreground area is segmented to decompose the complex shapes into simple shapes. Then, simple segmented foreground image is converted into 3D model to become a complex 3D model. The 3D conversion formular used in this paper is also discussed. The generated 3D model data will be useful for 3D animation and other 3D contents creation.

This study aimed to visualize a pig character targeting the golden pig in Geuknakjeon of Bulguksa Temple. As for a pig, it is included in this list of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals and controls Haeshinjang. Today, the characters market is enjoying rapid growth due to diversification of platforms. However, we do not see many characters made out of Korean traditional cultures and customs. This study first looks into significance of pigs that are often observed in Korean traditional culture and then offers possibilities of their being transformed into contemporary characters. In order to achieve the research goals, the study shed new light on the golden pig in Bulguksa Temple. As making contemporary applications to
, the study proceeded with work of visualization. As for a face of a character, the study focused on that of the pig but regarding a body, the study applied a man's body. After all, the study came up with this SD character in a second-proportioned figure. This study discuses formative characteristics of existing Buddhist cultural assets and uses the character for improving understanding on Korean traditional culture. In the future, the study will propose ideas on animation contents development targeting infants and children.
A Study on the Effect of Education Method for Adolescent's Suicide Prevention Using HMD and Virtual Reality

The purpose of this study is to develop the education content that induce energetically the adolescent's participation and learning for the education of suicide prevention. In order to realize it, we suggested the novel education methods based on virtual reality and HMD (Head Mounted Display), and developed the prototype system. This study intends to evaluate the effect of the proposed prototype system as a new education method with experiment and survey. This approach can show us the different possibility of adolescent's suicide prevention education.
Implementation of an User Interface Developing Tool for 3D Simulator

3D simulation programs or games on a smart phone and a personal computer have often employed 3D graphic processing techniques and 3D graphical views. However, the user interfaces in those 3D programs have sticked to take a typical 2D style user interface and thus the combination of a 2D user interface view and a 3D simulation view give us a mismatched sense. Since a 2D user interface has been based on the windows controls, it causes sometime DC conflicts between a simulation view and an interface view. Therefore, we will implement the UI developing tool which can be inserted into the pipeline structure for the development of a 3D simulation software and also follows the view-handler design pattern in Microsoft windows system. It will provide various graphical effects such as the deformation of UI depending on the view direction of simulation view and the sitting pose of user. This developing tool gives the natural user interface which heightens the sense of unity with a given 3D simulation view.
A Study of User Experience from Parallax Scrolling Use on the Web Interface

In this paper, we compared the user experience according to utilize parallax scrolling technique in web site. For this purpose, we divided subjects into two groups. The subjects of Group1 were given to use web site interface with Parallax scrolling and the Group2 were given to use web site interface with non Parallax scrolling. Then, All Subjects answered the questionnaire of user experience. User experience were evaluated by four entries as Novelty, Esthetics, Usage of Satisfaction, Cheerfulness. Consequently. As a result, the web site interface with Parallax scrolling showed significantly higher score of Novelty, Esthetics, Cheerfulness than the web site interface with non-Parallax scrolling. In this study. we proved that using the parallax scrolling technique in web site interface improves the overall user experience, and suggested to apply as a way to advance the attention and persistency on creating a web site.
Comparison of User Experience from Parallax Scrolling and Video Use on the Web Contents

Recent use of digital video contents increases visual fatigue of users. As a result, it has been difficult that the existing video methods make users focus on the content with interest and deliver stories intended by contents producers. Parallax scrolling is getting the spotlight as a new way which are keeping the fluent visual advantages of video and help users maintaining their attention with simple maneuver. In this study, based on a survey, it would compare the user experience in an existing video in Web contents and parallax scrolling Web contents. As a result, it showed that using the parallax scrolling Web sites improve user sensibilities such as aesthetic, novelty and pleasure of user experiences. A remarkable thing is that users replied parallax scrolling is not much comfortable to use. According to the result, researchers suggest that using parallax scrolling in Web site needs thoughtful decision in making and managing of Web contents.
