Semantic Segmentation of Indoor Scenes Using Depth Superpixel

In this paper, we propose a novel post-processing method of semantic segmentation from indoor scenes with RGBD inputs. For accurate segmentation, various post-processing methods such as superpixel from color edges or Conditional Random Field (CRF) method considering neighborhood connectivity have been used, but these methods are not efficient due to high complexity and computational cost. To solve this problem, we maximize the efficiency of post processing by using depth superpixel extracted from disparity image to handle object silhouette. Our experimental results show reasonable performances compared to previous methods in the post processing of semantic segmentation.
A Guideline Tracing Technique Based on a Virtual Tracing Wheel for Effective Navigation of Vision-based AGVs

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are widely used in industry. Several types of vision-based AGVs have been studied in order to reduce cost of infrastructure building at floor of workspace and to increase flexibility of changing the navigation path layout. A practical vision-based guideline tracing method is proposed in this paper. A virtual tracing wheel is introduced and adopted in this method, which enables a vision-based AGV to trace a guideline in diverse ways. This method is also useful for preventing damage of the guideline by enforcing the real steering wheel of the AGV not to move on the guideline. Usefulness of the virtual tracing wheel is analyzed through computer simulations. Several navigation tests with a commercial AGV were also performed on a usual guideline layout and we confirmed that the virtual tracing wheel based tracing method could work practically well.
Implementation of an Emulator for the Integrated Image Reconstruction according to Distance

Integral imaging is an auto-stereoscopic display method that can produce 3D image of a finite viewing window through an array of micro elemental lenses. Integral imaging requires the pickup part of each elemental images acquisition and display part of reconstruction of the images. The successful reconstructed image depends on various parameters such as distance between lens arrays and display device, focal length of lenses, and a number of the array. In this paper, we present reconstruction emulator for display of Integral imaging in order to adjust parameters for 3D contents reconstruction and to observe the result from different configuration. Especially, we provide the user interface for the emulator to control the distance easily. We have confirmed through various experiments that the emulator adjusted the distance and could check error in the process of creating elemental images.
Heart Murmur Detection Algorithm based on Spectral Flatness

Heart sounds generated by the beating heart and blood flow reflect the turbulence created when the heart valves snap shut. Cardiac diagnosis is typically started by an auscultation using a stethoscope, from which a medical doctor, depending on his hearing capabilities and training, listens and interprets the acoustic signal. This method of diagnostic is uncertain, mostly due to the fact that human ear loses the acoustic frequency sensitivity through the years. Even though an auscultation has some weaknesses like uncertainty, it is considered as a primary tool due to its simplicity. In this paper, heart murmur detection algorithm is proposed using time and frequency characteristics of heart sound. The propose heart murmur detection method adapted conventional primary heart sound detection method in time domain and modified spectral flatness method in frequency domain for detecting heart murmurs. From experimental results, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithm detect the heart murmurs efficiently.
Distributed Medium Access Control for N-Screen Multicast Services in Home Networks

N-screen is an emerging technology to support multimedia multicasting, content sharing and content mobility. N-screen service providers should obtain the technology that provides the highest quality content seamlessly. Distributed nature of WiMedia distributed-MAC protocol can provide full mobility support, and achieves seamless medium access method in contrast to IEEE 802.15.3. So, in this paper, WiMedia distributed-MAC protocol is adopted and an asynchronous multicast transmission (AMT) technology is proposed to enhance performance of seamless N-screen wireless service based on distributed-MAC. The ACK frame transmissions are not required for multicast transmissions. By using this property in AMT, if a device is a multicast receiver, its reserved time slots can be reserved by the other devices with 1-hop distance. Furthermore, each N-screen device broadcasts and shares the information including an order in asynchronous traffic reservations to reduce conflicts in determining the transmission order of asynchronous N-screen packets. Therefore, AMT scheme expands the number of time slots available and throughputs for multicast and asynchronous traffic reservations when comparing with the distributed-MAC standard system. N-screen communications based on distributed-MAC with the proposed AMT shows a new framework for realizing N-screen wireless service with the full content mobility.
Energy Efficient Clustering Scheme for Multi-sensor on Wireless Sensor Networks

Recent application range of sensor networks is becoming diverse. It means collected sensor data types are becoming diverse too. These sensor data have their own characteristics. Thus achieving energy efficiency, existing sensor network management policy consider their own characteristics. However, it is inefficient to apply the existing network management schemes for controlling such kind of data at the same time. Because, existing network management schemes considered one type of data only. Therefore, we propose a novel routing scheme that is able to efficient energy conservation through effective data controlling on multi-sensor application environment.

Recently because of development of remote network technology, users are able to access the network freely without constraints of time and space. As users are getting more frequent to access the remote server in a computing environment, they are increasingly being exposed to various risk factors such as forward secrecy and server impersonation attack. Therefore, researches for remote user authentication scheme have been studying actively. This paper overcomes the weaknesses of many authentication schemes proposed recently. This paper suggests an improved authentication scheme that protects user's anonymity with preserving variable more safe and also provides forward secrecy.
Development of Open H/W-Based IEEE 11073 Agent and Manager for Non-Standard Health Devices

With the evolution and development of many kinds of healthcare devices and techniques, u-health standards have emerged as a major issue. Yet, most legacy medical devices and systems are still being used without deployment of the standards. Therefore, it is required to support backward compatibility for u-health standard-compliant systems to communicate with legacy non-standard medical and healthcare devices. This paper proposes a new scheme to support backward compatibility of IEEE 11073 system by adding a codec module to IEEE 11073 agent. The codec converts data sent by non-standard health devices to IEEE 11073 MDER data. Plus, we implemented the proposed IEEE 11073 agent with an Intel Edison board which is one of popular open source H/W platforms. The IEEE 11073 manager of the proposed system can monitor and control legacy non-standard devices through the proposed agent system. In our experimental results, we examined the proposed system can support interoperability between u-health standard and non-standard devices and contribute to the growth and expansion of u-health services.
Vidyanusa Mathematic Learning Systems Based on Digital Game by Balanced Design Approach

Educational games offer an opportunity to engage and inspire students to take an interest in every subject material in school. The "fun" obtain when playing games become a trigger for the use of games in learning. However, there are doubts whether the players actually learn while they are having fun. Vidyanusa is an Online Mathematics Education Game being developed by Crayonpedia Education Ecosystem in Indonesia. The learning goal of Vidyanusa is to engage junior high school students in learning mathematics. In this paper, we design the Vidyanusa game material Functions and Relations by using Balanced Design Approach. This approach has three models in succession; the Content Model outlines the purpose of the game, the Task Model maps out the mission, and the Evidence Model outlines student measurement. This paper will then discusses the quality of games produced in term of Usability factor for effective results and objective. The measurement of the game was carried out based on International Standard ISO/IEC 9126-1 FDIS about Software Quality Product.
A Study on the Design of Automatic Billing Information Systems for Long-Term Home Care Services Business Using iBeacon

Applying evolved IT technology to increase the satisfaction of the consumer is a typical feature of the rapidly transformed service industry. Smart devices have taken a place as the mainstream of major media, moreover, IT service strategies utilizing smart devices have been constantly developed. Location recognition method of users has been proposed as one of the significant features to the IT service industry. The long-term care home services can be one example of user location recognition methods that real time computerization of service record utilize an attached tag to home of pensioners with RFID reader or an NFC function of mobile when a home carer provides service. And, the Homecare Electronics Management System (HEMS) and the various location recognition methods will be discussed to improve effectiveness of services. In this paper, we propose a home applicable electronic management system which insurer, home care service facilities, home cares, pensioners and guardians which enables to simultaneously check service records based on the improved system by use of iBeacon.
Secrecy Outage Probability of AF Relay Transmission with MRC/TAS in Presence of Eavesdropper

In this paper, we offer the secrecy outage probability of the amplify-and-forward (AF) transmission, which consists of one source, one destination, one relay, and one passive eavesdropper. Particularly, we consider that the relay is equipped with multiple antennas while other terminals is utilized with single antenna and apply diversity techniques (for both the reception and the transmission) at the relay to achieve gains in a secrecy outage performance. Additionally, we analyze the exact secrecy outage probability of the proposed systems in a one-integral form. Finally, some numerical examples are given to verify our provided analytical results for different system conditions.
Mura Defect Enhancement based on Saliency Map in TFT-LCD Image

In this paper, we propose the defect emphasis in TFT-LCD panel image. The defect emphasis image consist of S(Shape) map and B(Brightness) map. S map based on DoG(difference of gaussian) is made with the mura defect shape characteristic. And B map use defect intensity property that defect intensity is higher than background. The experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed defect emphasis method. The results of experiments show the validity of the defect emphasis using the proposed method.
Defect Detection algorithm of TFT-LCD Polarizing Film using the Probability Density Function based on Cluster Characteristic

Automatic defect inspection system is composed of the step in the pre-processing, defect candidate detection, and classification. Polarizing films containing various defects should be minimized over-detection for classifying defect blobs. In this paper, we propose a defect detection algorithm using a skewness of histogram for minimizing over-detection. In order to detect up defects with similar to background pixel, we are used the characteristics of the local region. And the real defect pixels are distinguished from the noise using the probability density function. Experimental results demonstrated the minimized over-detection by utilizing the artificial images and real polarizing film images.
Implementation of Muscular Sense into both Color and Sound Conversion System based on Wearable Device

This paper presents a method for conversion of muscular sense into both visual and auditory senses based on synesthetic perception. Muscular sense can be defined by rotation angles, direction changes and motion degrees of human body. Synesthetic interconversion can be made by learning, so that it can be possible to create intentional synesthetic phenomena. In this paper, the muscular sense was converted into both color and sound signals which comprise the great majority of synesthetic phenomena. The measurement of muscular sense was performed by using the AHRS(attitude heading reference system). Roll, yaw and pitch signals of the AHRS were converted into three basic elements of color as well as sound, respectively. The proposed method was finally applied to a wearable device, Samsung gear S, successfully.
Design and Implement of E-textbook Authoring System Supporting Open Resource based on Original Contents Tracing Model

This study proposes web-based authoring system for the lecturers who published textbooks by inserting external open resource. When lecturer publishes textbooks, the system makes it easier to utilize external resources by providing an open resource pool that the lecturer can search not only his own resources but external resources. In addition, we designed an open resource pool based on Original Contents Tracing Model to check whether the scrapped resource is changed or not in the future. Open Resource Pool allows inserting text, images and videos by searching multimedia, and stores metadata for the follow-up management. We made the system to determine the change of the resource using the metadata stored in the tracking system. Through this research, we confirmed that it is possible to publish textbooks by utilizing a variety of open resources on the web and revise the book by tracing the scrapped resources.
A Study on Non-Verbal Expressions for the Realization of Narrative Visualization －Focusing on a 3D Cat Character, "Puss"

In animated films, characters materialize narratives through acting. The narrative is an element to materialize accurate delivery of lines and emotions. The non-verbal actions should express lots of emotions and lines in scenes, and also they can be used as a way of empathy. This study analyzed the visualization factors of narrative focusing on a cat character frequently shown in animated films. For this, the visualization factors of non-verbal actions expressed in characters' personal space and dynamic space were extracted. Based on this, it aims to suggest the emotion expressing method of characters to realize effective narrative visualization. In the future, it aims to be used as reference data in case when producing non-verbal communication for 3D characters.

Study the movement was formed and developed through the history of the birth of film and animation. The techniques of the immaterial object movement of in the media art which accompany movement have different operational and symbolic aspects with a film or a traditional(existing) animation. Focused on the works of media artist and want to study the movement of media art production methods.
