A Study on Efficient Market Hypothesis to Predict Exchange Rate Trends Using Sentiment Analysis of Twitter Data

Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH), states that at any point in time in a liquid market security prices fully reflect all available information. This paper presents a study of proving the hypothesis through daily Twitter sentiments using the hybrid approach of the lexicon-based approach and the naïve Bayes classifier. In this research we analyze the currency exchange rate movement of Indonesia Rupiah vs US dollar as a way of testing the Efficient Market Hypothesis. In order to find a correlation between the prediction sentiments from Twitter data and the actual currency exchange rate trends we collect Twitter data every day and compute the overall sentiment to label them as positive or negative. Experimental results have shown 69% correct prediction of sentiment analysis and 65.7% correlation with positive sentiments. This implies that EMH is semi-strong Efficient Market Hypothesis, and that public information provide by Twitter sentiment correlate with changes in the exchange market trends.
Efficient Image Segmentation Algorithm Based on Improved Saliency Map and Superpixel

Image segmentation is widely used in the pre-processing stage of image analysis and, therefore, the accuracy of image segmentation is important for performance of an image-based analysis system. An efficient image segmentation method is proposed, including a filtering process for super-pixels, improved saliency map information, and a merge process. The proposed algorithm removes areas that are not equal or of small size based on comparison of the area of smoothed superpixels in order to maintain generation of a similar size super pixel area. In addition, application of a bilateral filter to an existing saliency map that represents human visual attention allows improvement of separation between objects and background. Finally, a segmented result is obtained based on the suggested merging process without any prior knowledge or information. Performance of the proposed algorithm is verified experimentally.
Adaptive Noise Canceller for Speech Enhancement Using 2-D Binary Mask

Speech enhancement algorithm plays an important role in numerous speech signal processing applications. Over the last few decades, many algorithms have been studied for speech enhancement. The algorithms are based on spectral subtraction, Wiener filter, and subspace method etc. They have good performance of speech enhancement, but the performance can be deteriorated in specific noises or low SNR environment. In this paper, a new speech enhancement algorithms are proposed based on adaptive noise canceller. And the proposed algorithm improved performance of adaptive noise cancelling using 2-D binary mask. From objective experimental index, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithm is useful and has better performance than recently proposed speech enhancement algorithms.
Electrodermal Activity at Palms according to Pressure Stimuli applied to the Scapula

The system for measuring the electrodermal activity (EDA) signal occurring at the sweet glands in the human body was implemented in this study. The EDA measurement system (EDAMS) consisted of an algometer and the bio-potential measurement system (BPMS). Three experiments were performed using EDAMS. First, the linearity of the output voltage corresponding to the pressure being applied to an algometer was evaluated. The linearity of output voltage according to the pressure was 0.956. Second, the amplitude and the latency of the EDA signal at the left palm was obtained while applying the pressure stimuli to the left and right scapula. The latency of EDA signal was shorter whereas the amplitude of EDA signal was higher when the pressure applied was applied to the left scapula. Third, the amplitude and latency of the EDA was measured at left and right palm while increasing the pressure stimuli to the left scapula. The latency of EDA signal at left and right palm was decreased according to the intensity of pressure stimulus applied to the left scapula. However, the latency of the EDA signals did not show the linearity with respect to the pressure stimuli.
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis at Inner Forearms of the Human Body using Bioelectrical Impedance Measurement System

The bioelectrical impedance (BI) at the inner forearms was measured using bioelectrical impedance measurement system (BIMS), which employs the multi-frequency and the two-electrode method. Experiments were performed as follows. First, while applying a constant alternating current of 800A to the inner region of the forearms, BI (Z) was measured at nineteen frequencies ranging from 5 to 500 kHz. The prediction marker (PM) was calculated for right and left forearm. The resistance (R) and the reactance (X
) were simultaneously measured during impedance measurement. Second, a Cole-Cole plot (relationship between reactance and resistance) was obtained for left and right forearm, indicating the different characteristic frequencies (f
). Third, the phase angle was obtained, indicating strong dependence on the applied frequency.
Design and Implementation of Image-Pyramid

This paper presents a System-On-a-chip for embedded image processing applications that need Gaussian Pyramid structure. The system is fully implemented into Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based on the prototyping platform. The SoC consists of embedded processor core and a hardware accelerator for Gaussian Pyramid construction. The performance of the implementation is benchmarked against software implementations on different platforms.
Secure and Privacy Preserving Protocol for Traffic Violation Reporting in Vehicular Cloud Environment

Traffic violations such as moving while the traffic lights are red have come from a simple omission to a premeditated act. The traffic control center cannot timely monitor all the cameras installed on the roads to trace and pursue those traffic violators. Modern vehicles are equipped and controlled by several sensors in order to support monitoring and reporting those kind of behaviors which some time end up in severe causalities. However, such applications within the vehicle environment need to provide security guaranties. In this paper, we address the limitation of previous work and present a secure and privacy preserving protocol for traffic violation reporting system in vehicular cloud environment which enables the vehicles to report the traffic violators, thus the roadside clouds collect those information which can be used as evidence to pursue the traffic violators. Particularly, we provide the unlinkability security property within the proposed protocol which also offers lightweight computational overhead compared to previous protocol. We consider the concept of conditional privacy preserving authentication without pairing operations to provide security and privacy for the reporting vehicles.
A Context-based Adaptive Multimedia Streaming Scheme in IoT Environments

In Internet of Things (IoT) environments, billions of interconnected devices and multimedia sensors generate a huge amount of multimedia traffic. Since the environment are in general deployed as a server-centric architecture wireless sensor networks could be bottlenecks between IoT gateways and IoT devices. The bottleneck causes high power consumption of the device and triggers very heavy network overload by transmission of sensing data. The deterioration could decrease the quality of multimedia streaming service due to delay, loss, and waste of device power. Thus, in this paper, we propose a context-based adaptive multimedia streaming scheme to support enhanced QoS and low power consumption in IoT environments. The goal of the scheme is to increase quality score per voltage of the streaming service, given an adaptation algorithm with context that are classified network and hardware such as throughput, RTT, and CPU usage. From the both context, the quality score per voltage is used in the comparison of a only network context-based adaptive multimedia streaming scheme, a fixed multimedia streaming and our scheme. As a result, we achieves a high improvement that means the quality score per voltage is increased up to about 4, especially in case of resolution change.
Quantitative Analysis of Power Consumption for Low Power Embedded System by Types of Memory in Program Execution

Through the rapid development of latest hardware technology, high performance as well as miniaturized size is the essentials of embedded system to meet various requirements from the society. It raises possibilities of genuine realization of IoT environment whose size and battery must be considered. However, the limitation of battery persistency and capacity restricts the long battery life time for guaranteeing real-time system. To maximize battery life time, low power technology which lowers the power consumption should be highly required. Previous researches mostly highlighted improving one single type of memory to increase ones efficiency. In this paper, reversely, considering multiple memories to optimize whole memory system is the following step for the efficient low power embedded system. Regarding to that fact, this paper suggests the study of volatile memory, whose capacity is relatively smaller but much low-powered, and non-volatile memory, which do not consume any standby power to keep data, to maximize the efficiency of the system. By executing function in specific memories, non-volatile and volatile memory, the quantitative analysis of power consumption is progressed. In spite of the opportunity cost of all of theses extra works to locate function in volatile memory, higher efficiencies of both power and energy are clearly identified compared to operating single non-volatile memory.
Integration System Manageable by User on Heterogeneous Service Environment

Integration systems help users consume services more effectively. However, previous integration systems can only enable predefined service cooperation to satisfy users, which is difficult to achieve user-centric service composition in dynamic environments. Therefore, in this paper, a dynamic service integration system is proposed to automatically combine services based on usage history. With this system, services can be dynamically composed to meet users` needs and information can be flexibly transited among heterogeneous services.
Development of an Evidence-based Nursing Process System to Improve Clinical Decision Making with Colorectal Cancer Nursing Diagnosis

The purpose of this study was to develop an evidence-based Nursing Process System on Nursing Diagnosis, Nursing Outcomes, and Nursing Interventions Classification targeting nurse students. We use standard classification-focused research data on the basis of Nursing Diagnosis Classification established by NANDA (North American Nursing Diagnosis Association), NOC (Nursing Outcomes Classification) and NIC (Nursing Interventions Classification) mainly developed by Iowa Sate University. The existing research methods are difficult to be applied the consistent nursing process, since such methods need to repeatedly enter the same nursing process without systematic guidelines. But, this study was coded data of standardized nursing process in accordance with the 10 clinical condition in order to implement the nursing process macro, and developed a system that reflects the needs of nursing educators. Therefore, nurse students can improve clinical decision-making ability, and naturally learn the nursing process through a system developed.
An Efficient Study of Expression with 2D Game Tool -Focused on Production of a Game "Shooting Monster" with Spine Tool

This study suggests efficient production of game with spine tool that is 2D game tool. For this, the researcher studies process and efficiency of game development by focusing on production of a game "Shooting Monster" Version 1 in service of Google Store at present. Production tools in a contents field are sharply changed. In addition, these tools are automatized into new version and efficient product. These tools help manufacturers in increasing quality of contents and time efficiency. Therefore, the researcher examines understanding of development process of existing 2D game and problems in development stage of graphic character, and analyzes production stage of character animation using spine tool, so suggests effective process of production in terms of production. The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction about graphic efficiency of tool by accessing production process to train working-level talented people in 2D mobile game field.
Analysis of Montage Pattern of e-book as a Film Language

This study analyzed the montage pattern of e-book in a bid to include e-book in the film language system. To this end, this study targeted three pieces of e-books which reproduced the animation for theater use of Disney Company. This study did research on characteristics of montage in films, and kinds of film vectors, and defined it as `Montage of Experience` according to media characteristics of e-book. This study deducted the montage pattern of 3 sorts of classification, and 10 sorts of detailed classification by doing research on the analysis object. This study has a significance in that it pioneers a new perspective in e-book research which has been biased towards a functional perspective. Analysis of the point of contact where the existing visual media, and new media meet with each other could be a driving force promoting the growth of the relevant industry, and this study thinks that the analysis of the point of contact is the research which is helpful to working out qualitative improvement of e-book contents.
