A Physical Design Method of Storage Structures for MOLAP Systems of Data Warehouse

Aggregation is an operation that plays a key role in multidimensional OLAP (MOLAP) systems of data warehouse. Existing aggregation operations in MOLAP have been proposed for file structures such as multidimensional arrays. These tile structures do not work well with skewed distributions. This paper presents a physical design methodology for storage structures ni MOLAP that use the multidimensional tile organizations adapting to a skewed distribution. In uniform data distribution, we first show that the performance of multidimensional analytical processing is highly affected by the similarity of the shapes between query regions and page regions in the domain space of the multidimensional file organizations. And than, in skewed distributions, we reflect the effect of data distributions on the design by using the shapes of the normalized query regions that are weighted with data density of those query regions. Finally, we demonstrate that the physical design methodology theoretically derived is indeed correct in real environments. In the two-dimensional file organizations, the results of experiments indicate that the performance of the proposed method is enhanced by more than seven times over the conventional method. We expect that the performance will be more enhanced when the dimensionality is more than two. The result confirms that the proposed physical design methodology is useful in a practical way.
Edge Enhanced Error Diffusion Halftoning Method Using Local Activity Measure

Digital halftoning is a process to produce a binary image so that the original image and its binary counterpart appear similar when observed from a distance. Among digital halftoning methods, error diffusion is a procedure for generating high quality bilevel images from continuous-tone images but blurs the edge information in the bilevel images. To solve this problem, we propose the improved error diffusion using local spatial information of the original images. Based on the fact that the human vision perceives not a pixel but local mean of input image, we compute edge enhancement information(EEI) by appling the ratio of a pixel and its adjacent pixels to local mean. The weights applied to local means is computed using the ratio of local activity measure(LAM) to the difference between input pixels of 3
3 blocks and theirs mean. LAM is the measure of luminance changes in local regions and is obtained by adding the square of the difference between input pixels of 3
3 blocks and theirs mean. We add the value to a input pixel of quantizer to enhance edge. The performance of the proposed method is compared with conventional methods by measuring the edge correlation. The halftone images by using the proposed method show better quality due to the enhanced edge. And the detailed edge is preserved in the halftone images by using the proposed method. Also the proposed method improves the quality of halftone images because unpleasant patterns for human visual system are reduced.
Recognition of Human Body Using Fourier Descriptors and Laser Stripe Signals

In this paper we Propose a method that enables to recognize the laser stripe with 3dimensional information of body. Laser stripe has 3-dimensional information. We found out patterns of stripe have features of body. So we made database of it using Fourier Descriptor method and compared it with another stripe of body to recognize bodies. We could recognize standard style of body efficiently It is respected that deep research should be studied on the different style of bodies and then the other features of human will be recognized.
Frequency Domain Blind Source Seperation Using Cross-Correlation of Input Signals

This paper proposes a frequency domain independent component analysis (ICA) algorithm to separate the mixed speech signals using a multiple microphone array By estimating the delay timings using a input cross-correlation, even in the delayed mixture case, we propose a good initial value setting method which leads to optimal convergence. To reduce the calculation, separation process is performed at frequency domain. The results of simulations confirms the better performances of the proposed algorithm.
Improvement of Active Contour Model for Detection of Pulmonary Region in Medical Image

In this paper, we extracted the contour of lung parenchyma on EBT images with the improved active contour model. The objects boundary in conventional active contour model can be extracted by controlling internal energy and external energy as energy minimizing form. However, there are a number of problems such as initialization and the poor convergence about concave part. Expecially, contour can not enter the concave region by discouraging characteristic about stretching and bending in internal energy. We controlled internal energy by moving local perpendicular bisector point of each control point in the contour and implemented the object boundary by minimizing energy with external energy The convergence of concave part could be efficiently implemented toward lung parenchyma region by this internal energy and both lung images for initial contour could also be detected by multi-detection method. We were sure this method could be applied detection of lung parenchyma region in medical image.
The Design of Repeated Motion on Adaptive Block Matching Algorithm in Real-Time Image

Since motion estimation and motion compensation methods remove the redundant data to employ the temporal redundancy in images, it plays an important role in digital video compression. Because of its high computational complexity, however, it is difficult to apply to high-resolution applications in real time environments. If we have a priori knowledge about the motion of an image block before the motion estimation, the location of a better starting point for the search of an exact motion vector can be determined to expedite the searching process. In this paper presents the motion detection algorithm that can run robustly about recusive motion. The motion detection compares and analyzes two frames each other, motion of whether happened judge. Through experiments, we show significant improvements in the reduction of the computational time in terms of the number of search steps without much quality degradation in the predicted image.
Multi-Thread Based Image Retrieval Agent in Distributed Environment

This paper proposed a system collecting image information by agents in multi-threaded environment and then retrieving them with content based image retrieval. This system uses multi threads to retrieve web information effectively, then improves efficiency of CPU cycles to reduce latency time, which is the time requesting queries, executing communication processing 4hat the retrieval agents perform and filtering the retrieval results. Also, the agents for image retrieval use Java language, which is platform independent, to be suitable for distributed environment. Using JDBC to save the retrieved images, the agents are connected to database. The images themselves are stored in distributed agents' databases, and only the image indexes are stored in an index server so that the efficiency of storage and retrieval time can be improved.
Design and Implementation of DVB-T Receiver System Based on OFDM

This paper presents a digital video broadcasting - terrestrial (DVB-T) receiver system based on the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation method, which has exhibited a good reception performance even with obstacles and a mobile reception. As such, an improved OFDM receiver is developed for a DVB-T system that also considers function expansion for further development. After manufacturing the DVB-T receiver system, the performance of the proposed system is compared with three other hardware systems, all of which are end products. The experimental results confirm the performance using the measured minimum required carrier-to-noise ratio and threshold of visibility signal for each system. In addition, a graphic user interface (GUI) and electronic program guide (EPG) are developed for the digital television user.
A MAP Management Scheme for Fast Handover in HMIPv6 Networks

When a mobile node changes a sub network using Mobile IP, it must register its current location to the home agent. If a mobile node is far from its home network, the Binding Update (BU) time delay is longer and affects its connection state. To solve such a BU delay problem, a new component in HMIPv6, called MAP, supports the mobility of mobile node to reduce the signaling delay in handover However, in hierarchical MAP architecture, the register concentration to a specific MAP may be occurred, which affects the network management wholly. In this paper, we propose a MAP selection scheme based on ioad balancing by the mobility factor and the traffic property. By the mobility factor and the traffic property, a mobile node can select a adequate MAP on its mobility factor and traffic characteristic.
Applications of Image Steganography Using Secret Quantization Ranges

Image steganography Is a secret communication scheme to transmit a secret message, which is embedded into an image. The original image and the embedded image are called the cover image and the stego image, respectively. In other words, a sender embeds a secret message into a cover image and transmits a stego image to a receiver, while the receiver takes the stego image, extracts the message from it, and reads the message. General requirements for steganography are great capacity of secret messages, imperceptibility of stego images, and confidentiality between a sender and a receiver. In this paper, we propose a method for being satisfied with three requirements. In order to hide a secret message into a cover image safely, we use a difference value of two consecutive pixels and a secret quantization range. The former is used for the imperceptibility and the latter for the confidentiality. Furthermore, the number of insertion bits is changed according to the difference value for the imperceptibility. Through experiments, we have shown that our method is more good quality of stego images than many other related methods and increases the amount o( message insertion by performing dual insertion processing for some pixels.
A Study on Synchronization of Video and Virtual Reality Data for On-line Education

In this paper, we study the synchronization method of animated simulations and VRs for on-line virtual reality education system. To build the data of animated simulations and synchronization modules of VRML content, the media-synchronizing technology, HTML + TIME and scripts are used. The VRML control module ismade into Java applet using the Java EAI provided for the web and the interface for VRML contents. To control the animation of VRML contents, the node information is extracted, and an animation production template capable of controlling animation in inter-connection with VRML content is made. With evaluation of the animation control performance, processing speed, synchronization performance between media in the system built, more improved results are obtained. We would like to suggest a education system with easy system construction and various multi-medium applicability by realizing HTML + TIME media synchronization and VRML web 3D virtual reality creation techniques, and animated images and 3D animation controls according to time using Java through this study.
A Design Technique of Meta-Model for Reengineering from Legacy to CBD

There is an increasing interest in migration legacy systems to new hardware platforms and to new software development paradigms. The reason is that high maintenance costs and lack of documentation. In order to migrate or transform legacy system, various approaches such as screen scrapping, wrapping, semi-development, and re-development, tools, and methodologies are introduced until now. However, architecture or requirements level's transformation is not suggested because most of those approaches focus on code-level transformation or a few model-level transform. In this paper, we suggest a meta-model driven approach applying 3D space concept, which can be applied into architecture and requirement phase. Proposed integrated model drives seamless migration or co-evolution from code to architecture of reverse engineering and from architecture to code of forward engineering.
An Implementation of the Web Services that Convert WML Page Into .NET Mobile Web Page

In this paper, we describe a design and implementation of Web Services that convert WML(Wireless Markup Language) Page into .NET Mobile Web Page. The Web Services has an advantage that is available everybody without restriction oi platform and programming language. In this paper, we implement the Web Services Provider providing of converting system and the Web Services Consumer using this system. The Clients can get results of .NET Mobile Web Page without difficulty through Web Server because of implementation of Web Services Consumer using Web Services. Also the clients can develop new application using Web Services without respect of its implement process.
Implementation of Component System for Computing Parts Required in BOM System

Bill Of Materials(BOM) is the technique document on illuminating the product structure and used to demonstrate the relationship and structure between the final product, sub-products, parts and materials. This paper implemented BOM system for need parts production that is need in production of finished goods that is display stand that is made by steel. After implementation the BOM system, there are changing of the corporation, which applied this system: (1) contraction by 2 weeks to 2 days of the time to calculate parts required for products (2) accuracy improvement of calculation for amounts parts required (3) contraction of business organization.
A Study on the System for Lane Departure Detection Using Color Data Processing

In this paper, we developed lane departure warning system for lane departure situation of vehicle, accidentally. Color level of yellow lane of road side is changed to black and white level. And black and white level value of relevant pixel of original and yellow lane through added process of this are emphasized. In lane departure detection system, color image data processing method could improve the recognition of the yellow lane(central lane). We could get a system Performance of the high-speed image data Processing. Therefore, lane departure warning system will be utilized at the device for the safety going of the vehicle.
