Development of Storage Techniques for PDTnet XML Schema Data

With the development of industry, product data management system is becoming more and more important. An expanded view of product definition function that include a bill of material and routing database, current and historical engineering data and specifications and engineering changes order history. PDM (Product Data Management) systems hold and manage such material as product specifications, plans, geometric models, CAD drawings and images. Furthermore, PDM enables companies producing complex products to spread product data in to the entire launch process. Especially, PDTnet XML Schema is an international standard for exchanging of PDM data. But PDTnet XML Schema differs from existing XML Schema in the way that its property of IDREF/IDREFS is irregular. Therefore it is important factor that. what do we use storage devices and storage techniques. We developed storage techniques and application supporting various query types and preserving PDTnet XML Schema using a relational database that guaranteeing the performance nowadays. In this paper, we will show that our storage techniques minimize repeated data and optimize query processing by using application comparison with storage techniques of existing XML Schema data.
An Object-based Database Mapping Technology for 3D Graphic Data

Recently, there have been increased many 3 dimensional graphic applications in Internet. Thus, a growing number of methods have been proposed for retrieving 3-D graphic data using their 3D features such as color, texture, shape, and spacial relations. However, few researches focus on 3D graphic modeling and database storage techniques. In this paper, we introduce a system that can store 3D graphics data modeled by XML-based 3D graphics markup language, 3DGML, and support content-based retrievals on 3D data by using SQL. We also present a mapping technique of 3DGML to relational database. The mapping process includes the extraction of semantic information from 3DGML and translate it into relational format. Finally, we show examples of SQL queries which use the 3D information contained in a 3D scene such as objects, 3D features, descriptions and scene-object component hierarchy.
Implementation of Motion Picture Processor for Low-cost CSTN-LCD

In this paper, we proposed a motion picture processor for using low-cost color super twisted nematic liquid crystal display(CSTN-LCD). The proposed processor apply a new driving scheme using SFP(Subgroup Frame Pattern), so we extends gray scale and eliminates flicker phenomenon. In addition, we apply the BFI (Black Field Insertion) to the design compensated for response time of a LC (Liquid Crystal). We use an edge enhancement and interpolation method to improve image quality of motion picture. The hardware architecture of proposed processor has been implemented and verified on a prototype FPGA board. The proposed method can be used in the display devices such as PDA(Personal Digital Assistants), mobile phone, and PMP(Portable Multimedia Player).
High-quality Shear-warp Volume Rendering Using Efficient Supersampling and Pre-integration Technique

As shear-warp volume rendering is the fastest rendering method among the software based approaches, image quality is not good as that of other high-quality rendering methods. In this paper, we propose two methods to improve the image quality of shear-warp volume rendering without sacrificing computational efficiency. First, supersampling is performed in intermediate image space. We propose an efficient method to transform between volume and image coordinates at the arbitrary ratio. Second, we utilize pre-integrated rendering technique for shear-warp rendering. We propose new data structure called overlapped min-max map. Using this structure, empty space leaping can be performed so that we can maintain the rendering speed even though pre-integrated rendering is applied. Consequently, shear-warp rendering can generate high-qualify images comparable to those generated by the ray-casting without degrading speed.
Facial Phrenology Analysis and Automatic Face Avatar Drawing System Based on Internet Using Facial Feature Information

In this paper, we propose an automatic facial phrenology analysis and avatar drawing system based on internet using multi color information and face geometry. In the proposed system, we detect face using logical product of Cr and I which is a components of YCbCr and YIQ color model, respectively. And then, we extract facial feature using face geometry and analyze user's facial phrenology with the classification of each facial feature. And also, the proposed system can make avatar drawing automatically using extracted and classified facial features. Experimental result shows that proposed algorithm can analyze facial phrenology as well as detect and recognize user's face at real-time.
Sub-pixel Image Magnification Using Adaptive Linear Interpolation

We propose an adaptive linear interpolation locating sub-pixels. We utilize a pixel-based parameter in the conventional linear interpolation. To optimally obtain the parameter, we propose a generic interpolation structure including a low pass filter and minimum mean square error. We also propose a simple version of the generic interpolation method, which obtain a closed-form solution. Simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art methods such as warped distance linear interpolation and shifted linear interpolation, as well as the conventional method such as the linear interpolation and the cubic convolution interpolation in terms of the subjective and objective image quality.
Design of Platform Independent 3D Shoe CAD System

CAD system is a very important technology in designing the products which we are using today. This CAD technology has been enlarging its area into 3D CAD systems with the development of computer graphics technologies. In particular, such advances have been realized in special area such as the CAD system for designing shoes. However, because it is difficult to design a 3D CAD system, most CAD developments except for major CAD software companies usually have employed the AutoCAD which realizes 3D concepts. Also, many shoes' designers have been skilled with 2D shoe CAD systems and then they can make high achievements. Therefore, we design a new shoe CAD system with advantages of 2D CAD system and 3D CAD system. We also implement the scheme to transfer the data between 2D CAD system and 3D CAD system and also grading technologies to get patterns of various shoes size from a basic shoe's design.
Mini-Bin Based Implementation Complexity Improvement in Fair Packet Schedulers

Realization of high-capacity quality-of-service router needs fair packet schedulers with a lower complexity. Timestamp based fair packet schedulers have the ideal complexity of O(log V), where V is the maximum number of admitted flows, but it has been recently reduced to O(1) using bin concept. However, the latency property was deteriorated and the bandwidth utilization was also declined. In addition, traffic flows requiring strong delay bound may not be admitted. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a Mini-Bin based Start-Time (MBST) scheduler with variable complexity and evaluates its performance. The MBST scheduler uses the timestamp calculation scheme of start-time based schedulers to enhance the bandwidth utilization and also introduces mini-bin concept to improve the latency, The performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheduler can reduce the complexity of the legacy start-tine based schedulers by
times without deteriorating the bandwidth utilization property.
Design and Evaluation of a Rough Set Based Anomaly Detection Scheme Considering Weighted Feature Values

The rapid proliferation of wireless networks and mobile computing applications has changed the landscape of network security. Anomaly detection is a pattern recognition task whose goal is to report the occurrence of abnormal or unknown behavior in a given system being monitored. This paper presents an efficient rough set based anomaly detection method that can effectively identify a group of especially harmful internal masqueraders in cellular mobile networks. Our scheme uses the trace data of wireless application layer by a user as feature value. Based on the feature values, the use pattern of a mobile's user can be captured by rough sets, and the abnormal behavior of the mobile can be also detected effectively by applying a roughness membership function considering weighted feature values. The performance of our scheme is evaluated by a simulation. Simulation results demonstrate that the anomalies are well detected by the method that assigns different weighted values to feature attributes depending on importance.
Modeling and Implementation of Firewall and IPS for Security Simulation on Large-scale Network Using SSFNet

It's difficult to check cyber attacks and the performance of a security system in a real large-scale network. Generally, a new security system or the effect of a new security attack are checked by simulation. We use SSFNet to simulate our security system and cyber attack. SSFNet is an event-driven simulation tools based on process, which has a strength to be capable of expressing a large-scale network. But it doesn't offer any API's which can manipulate not only the related function of security but also the packet. In this paper, we developed a firewall and IPS class, used for a security system, and added to them components of SSFNet. The firewall is modelled a security system based on packet filtering. We checked the function of the firewall and the IPS with network modelled as using our SSFNet. The firewall blocks packets through rules of an address and port of packets. The result of this simulation shows that we can check a status of packets through a log screen of IPS installed in a router and confirm abnormal packet to be dropped.
MHN Filter-based Brush Stroke Generation for Painterly Rendering

We introduce a new method of painterly rendering. Instead of using the gradient direction of the source image to generate a brush stroke, we extract regions that can be drawn in one stroke using MHN filtering followed by identification of connected components, and make a brush stroke from each, based on an approximation to the medial axis. This method results in realistic-looking brush strokes of varying width that have an irregular directions where necessary.
Design and Implementation of a Nursing Records for the Nursing Process for Use Within the Health Level 7 Clinical Document Architecture

This study proposes a new paradigm hospital information system through the nursing classification system and design of the HL7 clinical document architecture (Health Level Seven CDA) for information-sharing among various healthcare institutions. Nursing information CDA are included coding systems of nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing activity and outcomes. And, we have developed CDA generator for active generation of XML document. This study aims to facilitate the optimum care by providing health information required for individuals to nursing specialists in real-time, to help improvements in health, to improve the quality of productive life. This study has the following significance. First, an expansion and redefining process conducted, founded on the HL7 clinical document architecture and reference information model, to apply international standards to Korean contexts. Second, we propose a next-generation web based hospital information system that is based on the clinical document architecture. In conclusion, the study of the clinical document architecture will include an electronic health record (EHR) and a clinical data repository (CDR), and also make possible healthcare information-sharing among various healthcare institutions.
Advanced Representation Method of Hand Motion by Cheremes Analysis in KSL

This paper proposes a advanced representation method of hand motion by cheremes analysis in korean sign language. The proposed method is the representation method which apply to the hand motion used in KSL(Korean Sign Language) to represent rich and united hand motion. Words or sentences in KSL are completed by combination of elements called as Cheremes, that is, a hand movement orientation, a finger shape, a hand position, etc. In this paper, Cheremes composing the KSL is divided and represented by 5 elements: the hand movement orientation(HMO), finger shape(FS), hand orientation(HO), hand position(HP) and number of using hand (HN). Each cheremes is expressed by more various characteristics. For example, The hand movement orientation means orientations which the hand move while the sign language is done and can be expressed by 17orientation components. The finger shape means various shapes which fingers can take and represented by 17 components. The Orientation of hand is expressed by 2 characteristics according to whether we use the palm of the hand or the back. The position of hand means specific regions in body which hand(s) is placed while the sign language is done and divided by 8 regions. Finally, the number of hand means whether use only one hand or both hands and is expressed by 2 characteristics. The proposed method has been tested with KSL words and sentences and the results have shown that they can be expressed completely by the proposed representation method.
A Variability Design and Customization Technique for Improving Generality

It is difficult to design a component to satisfy several domain requirements and almost impossible to support a specific business logic completely. To satisfy this requirement, there need white box components rather than black box components. So, in this paper, we propose the variability design technique and the customization technique that can support the various requirements of domains. The initial variability of the component is designed at the CD (component development) phase and the customization technique is used for further application of the variability. In the paper, the behavior variability design and customization techniques are used for altering component behavior. As the components that have been developed using the variability technique can easily be re designed during the development of the applications, the variability of the components can be generalized further.
A Study for CT Technology Valuation Methods

The CT is all relation knowledge and technology which are applied to make the culture contents. Recently demand regarding the CT is increasing rapidly with a great growth and high technology of culture contents industry. In this paper we suggest a CT technology valuation model for promoting R & D results and technical diffusion of the CT. Also, It is shown how to derive a value of the CT using simulation. For it, we study a classification and distinctive characteristics of the CT. And this paper reviews the methods of technology valuation that have been developed by valuation specialists.
