Although rural areas account for more than 80% of the total land area of South Korea, most of them are deteriorated and living environment is inconvenient. In addition, the migration of young generation to urban areas and ageing have reduced the population and caused not only cavitation phenomena of villages but also stagnant communities. As for one of the rural areas, the seat of Myeon Office located in Oesan-myeon, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, this study presented not a plan only for strengthening hub functions but the methodology of the complex development plan in consideration of the regional characteristics in the comprehensive improvement project in seat of Myeon Office. From the perspective of enhancing the function of the seat of Myeon Office, it is inevitable to establish plans based on hardware. However, empowerment of the residents in the targeted areas also works as an important factor. In other words, each project promoted by the plan will be mainly operated by the local residents. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a management system of this. The success or failure of the established plan is based on the accurate survey of the issues of the targeted areas and demand, and this depends on participation and positive response of the residents of the targeted areas. That is, the method as a 'local community network' is required in order to increase the effect of resident participation in the planning area.

Population is prepared and analyzed in spatially microscopic level using dasymetric mapping method. According to the analysis on the accessibility to public facilities which is conducted using shortest distance, Gun areas and Eup/Myeon areas are 1,845m and 1,777m from residential areas respectively. Areas in Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do have relatively low accessibility while Eup areas tend to have higher accessibility. The present study is meaningful in that it shows the status quo of and regional differences of potential accessibility of rural public facilities in Korea. Furthermore, the findings are also meaningful as they can be utilized as fundamental data to locate the facilities and improve the service delivery of medical facilities.

For personal factors, we included couple's age difference, reason for entry, religion, marital duration, employment status, economical status, acculturation to Korean culture, acquisition of Korean language, and ego-resiliency. For domestic factors we included marriage process, reason for marriage, husbands' understanding of wife's native language, husbands' understanding of wife's culture, marital satisfaction, existence of children, head of the household, and parenting efficacy. Finally for social factors, awareness of welfare services and systems, use of public institutions and civil organizations, and participation in social groups were included. We recruited 256 immigrant wives who live in Asan City, Chungnam Province and the data were analyzed by multiple linear regression. The factors that statistically significant were: ego-resiliency, marital duration, acculturation to Korean culture and economic status among personal factors; parenting efficacy, marital satisfaction and marriage process (married without a matchmaker) among domestic factors; participation in self-help group of women from the same mother country, awareness of welfare services and systems, participation in hobby club, and participation in fraternal/religious society among social factors. It is hoped that this paper will yield general insights into subjective well-being of immigrant wives and may help them to develop inner talent and strength.

Journal of Agricultural Extension & Community Development, volume 20, issue 2, 2013, Pages 511~533
DOI : 10.12653/jecd.2013.20.2.0511
The study used a seasonal ARIMA model to forecast the number of tourists to Kyeongju foreign in a uni-variable time series. Time series monthly data for the investigation were collected ranging from 1995 to 2010. A total of 192 observations were used for data analysis. The date showed that a big difference existed between on-season and off-season of the number of foreign tourists in Kyeongju. In the forecast multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(1,1,0)
model was found the most appropriate model. Results show that the number of tourists was 694 thousands in 2011, 715 thousands in 2012, 725 thousands in 2013, 738 thousands in 2014, and 884 thousands in 2015. It was suggested that the grasping of the Kyeongju forecast model was very important in respect of how experts in tourism development, policy makers or planners would establish marketing strategies to allocate services in Kyeongju as a tourist destination and provide tourism facilities efficiently.

This study was to investigate the characteristics and management condition of the Singeum village's Dangsan forest, and to seek the revitalization of rural village by improving management scheme. The Dangsan forest in Singeum-ri, Goheung-gun was composed of a Dangsan forest and a Bibo forest. The Dangsan forest was designated as natural monument # 362, and named 'Evergreen forest of Bongnae-myeon, Goheung'. The Dangsan forest area has been disturbed by the building of student training center. Even the local resident couldn't enter the forest due to the fence at the forest boundary except for Dangsan ritual which used to be serviced once a year. The Bibo forest was included in a beach area, and disturbed by lack of management. The Dangsan forest did not stay in good condition with various problems, such as wrong naming as a natural monument and misuse. The driving force of the Dangsan forest maintaining the beauty for several hundred years originated from the conservation of the forest with Dangsan ritual by local residents. Today, the Dangsan forest is in danger of being vanished and not regarded any more as a holy place due to inaccessibility for Dangsan ritual. The Dangsan forest in Singeum village needs to enhance its value as a traditional and cultural landscape, and improving the management scheme will contribute to revitalization of the village.
