Journal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, volume 50, issue 5, 2008, Pages 3~15
DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.003
This study aims to simulate the 3 dimensional (3D) model of Keum-man connection canal using geographic information system (GIS) as well as considering design in viewpoint of engineering. The canal connects from Keumkang to Mangyungkang in order to supply fresh water into Saemankeum lake. This study used 3 dimensional spatial planning model (3DSPLAM) process to generate the 3D model, which has not only several planning layers in actual process, but also their corresponding layers in modeling process to simulate 3D space of rural villages. The discharge of the canal is
on slope of 1/28,400 in the canal length of 14.2km, which consists of pipe line and open channel. This study surveyed the route of the canal and its surrounding environment for facilities to make images in the 3D graphic model. Besides, the present study developed data set in GIS for geogrphical surface modeling as well as parameters in hydraulic analysis for water surface profile on the canal using HEC-RAS model. From the data set constructed, this study performed analysis of water surface profile with HEC-RAS, generation of digital elevation model (DEM) and 3D objects, design of the canal section and route on DEM in AutoCAD, and 3D canal model and its surrounding 3D space in 3DMAX with virtual reality. The study result showed that the process making 3D canal model tried in this study is very useful to generate computer graphic model with the designed canal on the surface of DEM. The generated 3D canal can be used to assist decision support for the canal policy.

Journal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, volume 50, issue 5, 2008, Pages 19~27
DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.019
This study was performed to evaluate the compressive strength and acid-resistant of polymer concrete using redispersible polymer powder(RPP) and blast furnace slag powder(BSP). Material used were ordinary portlant cement, recycled coarse aggregate, natural fine aggregate, redispersible polymer powder and blast furnace slag powder. The main experimental variables were the substitution ratio of redispersible polymer powder and blast furnace slag powder, when the substitution ratios of RPP were 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6%, and those of BSP were 10%. The compressive strength and acid-resistant of polymer concrete using RPP and BSP were compared with those of ordinary concrete(Basis). When the substitution ratio of RPP was 1%, at age of 28 days, the compressive strength were more higher than those of Basis by 24%, and it was decreased with increasing the RPP content, respectively. Also, the water absorption ratio was decreased with increasing the RPP content. But, the acid-resistant was improved with increasing the RPP content.

Journal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, volume 50, issue 5, 2008, Pages 29~37
DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.029
Stress-strain relation and stress block parameters of polymer concrete flexural compression members were experimentally investigated. For these purposes, a series of C-shaped polymer concrete specimens subjected to axial compressive load was tested. Based on the test results, we proposed an equation by which the stress-strain relation of polymer concrete can be predicted. In this model, we took account the slope of descending branch beyond the peak stress point of single curve. The proposed equation was numerically integrated to compute the rectangular stress block parameters. Computed
was greater than the values prescribed in ACI 318 Code for cement concrete, and
was about 0.85 that is similar to the value regulated in the ACI.

Park, Sung-Ki ; Won, Jong-Pil ; Park, Chan-Gi ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, volume 50, issue 5, 2008, Pages 39~50
DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.039
This study are decided the mix proportion method of latex modified concrete for agricultural concrete structures from the results of workability and strength test with mix proportion factor. For mix proportion factor, this study are selected the water-cement ratio, unit cement amount and latex content. Also, this study were performed the slump, compressive strength test and microstructure analysis using the scanning electron microscope(SEM). The strength and slump of LMC are dependent with unit cement amount, latex content, and water-cement ratio. Especially, the strength of LMC are not controlled by single mix proportion factor but effected by combined mix proportion factor. Microstructure investigation are showed the LMC are reduced the internal pore volume and enhanced the transition zone between cement paste and aggregate interface. This effect get by consist of latex films in the concrete. Also, this study were recommended the mix proportion method for LMC. These mix proportions method are estimated the mix design for satisfied the target performance which are applied the agricultural concrete structure.

Park, Chan-Gi ; Won, Jong-Pil ; Kim, Jong-Ok ;
Journal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, volume 50, issue 5, 2008, Pages 51~60
DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.051
This study is to relate the bond characteristics of CFRP rebar in high strength concrete incorporated with silica fume(SF) and metakaolin(MK). An direct bond test were performed to evaluate the effect of SF and MK on bond properties of high-strength concrete and CFRP rebar. The high strength concrete mix included four SF and MK mixes with 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%. Results of bond performance experiment in relation to pullout vs slip behavior of FRP rebar and high strength showed better performance of SF than MK. Also, the results showed the improved bond strength as replacement ratio of SF and MK increased. The relative bond strength in which
of estimated values were obtained.

Journal of The Korean Society of Agricultural Engineers, volume 50, issue 5, 2008, Pages 63~72
DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.063
This study was conducted to define a characteristics of Electrical Resistivity of weathered soil against volumetric water content and frequency. It is essential to analyze and understand a characteristics of the Electrical Resistivity for evaluation of soil as subsurface contaminant detection. Before the test, an effect of pore water and ion were checked using four liquids(distilled water, tap water, potassium chloride 1.8mM, and 3.7mM). As a result, the correlation between the volumetric water content and the Electrical Resistivity was estimated. The Electrical Resistivity decreases with increasing frequency and water content. Also, Electrical Resistivity could be described by an exponential function of volumetric water content with the constants.

DOI : 10.5389/KSAE.2008.50.5.073
This study evaluated the applicability of in-situ concrete pile as a stabilization materials of embankment slopes including agricultural reservoir and rural road etc. The experimental embankment slopes was constructed to investigate the strength properties of in-situ concrete pile with embankment materials and boring methods. The test variable were applied the boring method(driving and augering) and water-cement ratio. In order to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of embankment materials, permeability and water contents test were was performed. Also, the freshly and harden of in-situ concrete properties were measured by the slump and compressive strength tests. The results showed the water content and permeability of embankment materials and boring methods affected on compressive strength of in-situ concrete pile.
