A Case Study on Inside Noise Reduction of Agricultural Tractor Cab(I) -Analysis of Sound and Sound Intensity Levels-

High level of tractor noise may reduce operator's work performance and cause a hearing problem. This study was carried out to investigate the cab noise of a selected agricultural tractor. The noise was measured and analyzed in terms of sound and sound intensity levels. Form the results it was known that a structure-born noise was induced from the feet-rest and rear floor panel of the cab. The air-borne noise caused mainly by the engine was transmitted into the operator's position through the small openings of cab structures in the operator's lower front area.
A Case Study on Inside Noise Reduction of Agricultural Tractor Cab(II) -Noise Reduction-

In the first part of this paper, an analysis of the cab noise of a selected agricultural tractor was presented. In this study, using the results of the previous analysis, two passive noise control measures of the sound insulation and absorption were conducted to reduce the noise level inside the cab. These measures of noise control reduced the total noise level by 6.2㏈(A) at the operator position inside the cab. In order to further reduce the cab noise, particularly, of lower frequencies than 630Hz, stiffness and damping of the floor panel should be enforced. It was also suggested that a proper suspension for the cab mounting is necessary to reduce the level of structure-born noises.
Poisson's Ratio and Corrected Creep Compliance of Fruits

The model of Poisson's ratio of the fruits was developed on the basis that the cylindrical fruits specimen became the barrel shape when it was being compressed. The model of the corrected creep compliance of the fruits was developed under considering the developed model of Poisson's ratio. Both of the Poisson's ratio and the corrected creep compliance of the samples showed the nonlinear viscoelastic behavior. Those models were a similar form, but their coefficients of the model were different, and these behaviors of the samples were well described by the nonlinear model as a function of the initial stress and time. Effects of storage condition and period on the Poisson's ratio of the samples were investigated, and comparisons between the corrected and the uncorrected creep compliance of the samples were made.

Development of a Grain Drying and Storage System for Bulk Facilities of Grain Custody Warehouse -Square Silo System-

A basic proposal on the design of a grain drying and storage system was suggested for the bulk facilities of grain custody warehouses. A model square silo system was designed and developed on the basis of the proposal. A square silo system made of steel plate was developed with a stirring device, an automatic moisture meter and an auto-control system of PLC. Then, the developed square silo system was evaluated through drying experiments with rough rice. The square silo system could dry grains uniformly with a stirring device and an auto-control system regardless of grain depth. The developed square silo system can be well adapted for the bulk facilities of grain custody warehouses.
A Fundamental Study for the Automatic Control System in Greenhouse Using Microcomputer(III) -A variation of temperature and humidity by the window opening ways of the even-Span type house-

The ventilation in greenhouse have been important for such as adjustment of temperature, supplying of the oxygen, prevention of the overhumidity, density adjustment of
, discharge of harmfulness gas, etc. However, the general ventilation which had been used the quantitative control method in discharge of a property of air mechanism in greenhouse, and caused mainly in waste of the heating energy and growth obstacle of the vegetable. Therefore, this study was peformed to obtain more scientific ventilation method using by analysis and measurement of the isothermal lines according to opening of window ventilation in greenhouse, and the results are summarized as follows. 1. The ventilating amount was more influenced by rather opening amount of window than the ventilating time. 2. In window ventilation, the temperature in greenhouse was mostly changed within 5 minutes after ventilating not regard to the spot of opening, after about 10 minutes temperature became to equilibrium state under the respective ventilating conditions. 3. In opening of the skylight only, isothermal lines were complicated, therefore, a tall vegetable may be possible to damage by a cold-weather from the lower central port in greenhouse. 4. Isothermal lines were a tendency to simply in opening of a side window that may be more effective ventilation in kinds of the short vegetable. 5. In conditions of internal temperature>setting temperature>external temperature, a skylight can be suitable to open 10~20cm in order to the optimum ventilation in greenhouse. 6. In conditions of internal temperature>external temperature>setting temperature, opening of all the windows or both the side windows that can be suitable in order to obtain the optimum ventilation in greenhouse. 7. An effect of ventilation was the most excellent to open of all the windows or both the side windows, and it were also found orderly excellent to open of the side window and the skylight or the skylight only, to open of the side window only. 8. Temperature was varied as the equation of T=Tc+ (To-Tc)e-at, and the ranges of (a) values were limited within 0.34~0.68. 9. A variations of humidity were similar to that of temperature, s.
Development of Modeling Technique for Land Rearrangement Using GIS

A modeling technique of land rearrangement was proposed using Geographical Information System(GIS) based on PC ARC/INFO. Three regions with different slopes were chosen. At first, slope angle and direction were calculated, and lands were rearranged using various parameters. The required parameters are obtained from PC ARC/INFO and the design factors for land rearrangement. The shape of land before rearrangement could be compared with the shape of land after rearrangement. Besides the shape comparison, drain site could be determined and the information for cost of land rearrangement could be obtained. The system was integrated on a menu driven style with SML files and subprograms. GIS was proved to be useful for land rearrangement design.
