Design and Fabrication of a Micro Gas Sensor Using Nano Sensing Materials on Multi-layer Type Micro Platform with Low Power Consumption

A novel multi-layer type micro gas sensor for
detection was designed and fabricated. Micro platform defined as type II-1 in this article for micro gas sensor was fabricated using the MEMS technology to meet the demanding needs of lower power consumption. Nano composite materials were fabricated with nanosized tin oxide powder and
ube (MWCNT) to improve sensitivity. We investigated characteristics of fabricated multi-layer type micro gas sensor with
concentration variations at constant 2.2 V. Sensitivity (S) of micro gas sensor were observed to increase from 2.9, to 7.4 and 11.2 as concentrations of
gases increased from 2.4 ppm, to 3.6 ppm and 4.9 ppm. When 2.4 ppm of
gas was applied, response time and recovery time of micro gas sensor were recorded as 101 seconds and 142 seconds, respectively.
Feasibility Study of IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN to the Real-time Voice Application

Wireless sensor networking technology is one of the basic infrastructures for ubiquitous environment. It enables us to gather various sensory data such as temperature, humidity, gas leakage, and speed from the remote sensor devices. To support these networking functions, IEEE WPAN working group makes standards for PHY and MAC, while ZigBee Alliance defines the standards for the network, security, and applications. The low-rate WPAN was emerged to have the characteristics of network resilience, low cost, and low power consumption. It has a broad range of applications including, but not limit to industrial control and monitoring, home automation, disaster forecast and monitoring, health care. In order to provide more intelligent and robust services, users want voice-based solutions to accommodate to low-rate WPAN. In this paper, we have evaluated voice quality of an IEEE 802.15.4 standard compliant voice node. Specifically, it includes the design of a voice node and experiments based on the prediction of voice quality using the E-model suggested by ITU-T G.107, and the network communication mechanisms considering beacon-enabled and nonbeacon-enabled networks for real-time voice communications.
Real-time Context Service Model Based on RFID for u-Conference

Recently ubiquitous application services are developed plentifully using RFID techniques in the field of distribution and security industries. However, except these field the applications using RFID are not mature yet. In this study, we proposed a real-time context service model of the u-conference based on the real-time contextual information acquired from conference and exposition. With collection of real-time contextual information for u-conference, the model can provide a lot of information services on the state of session attendee, doorway control, affairs, user certification, presentation progress etc. For the verification of proposed real-time context service model of u-conference, we design and implement the conference progress state service included the state of session attendee, user certification and presentation progress etc. This service provides the presentation state information included the current presenter, the paper list, the number of session attendee, the schedule and place of each session using the collecting RFID tag and the related information.
Development of a Monitoring System Authoring Tool for USN

Recently, according as USN application service models have been integrated each other and have become various, the need on the development of monitoring programs corresponding each service model has been risen steadily. However, if we stick to the traditional method developing independently each service model, we might pay unnecessary expenses. In this paper, we propose the monitoring program authoring tool for USN. Furthermore, we introduce an implementing example of the forest fire prevention monitoring system for verification of the proposed tool. The tool adopted the framework based programming and the S/W reusability techniques for minimizing waste of redeveloping cost.
Implementation of A Remote Fire Monitoring System Based on Bidirectional USN

In general, wireless sensor networks composed of many nodes which are located in ad. hoc environment and send the gathered data to sink node support only one way traffic. In those cases, it is not possible to send commands to nodes to react for exceptional events because the networks can not deliver downward data and the nodes run in pre-assigned fixed schedule. This paper expands the WSLP to bidirectional WSLP and implements a fire monitoring system on it, and shows the feasibility of bidirectional USN by demonstrating the usability of the process of reaction to a fire in the implemented fire monitoring system.
Study about implementation of the system management application system that used an ubiquitous sensor network

System management application system is one of the most interesting fields in Ubiquitous Sensor Networks. It conforms to the property of Ubiquitous Sensor Networks very well, and it is the closest application for commercial use. We have two kinds of system management technology, such as the one which is accessed by web browser at anytime, anywhere and another one which is for local accessed system. In this paper, our purpose is implementation of system management application system which provides Mesh Sensor Networks topology with IP based agent platform and system management server. Furthermore we introduce the functions used for our recent implementation and propose several future issues about system management application system.
The Current Status of USN And Prospect of Ubiquitous Convergence

Through USN field Test Projects launched in 2005, 9 USN application service models such as u-Ocean, u-Construction, u-Farm, u-Hospital has been deployed. We conducted technical, industrial, economical feasibility tests to verify those services. This thesis will cover briefly the current situation of USN industry domestically and internationally. It will show the future prospect of convergence service model based on USN in conjunction with research details and results from previous USN field Test Projects.
