A Micro-Webpage Stored in NFC Tag

A Smartphone has an ability accessing Internet by URL stored in NFC(Near Field Communication) Tag for storing the information of items, blogs and web pages. Because the system works through the Internet with URL, however, it needs to pay some costs like communication fee and time. If we can store the web page on the tags, we can save the communication overhead. But they have too small memory to store it. In this paper, we introduce the Micro-Webpage technology which can be stored in NFC tag or QR(Quick Response) code. To make a Micro-Webpage, we remove control tags from the web page to leave a user original content. The removed control tags are stored in our smartphone application as a template. The user content is also compressed to a smaller one by an lossless compression algorithm. When a tag is read, the stored content is decompressed and, it is combined with the template to make the original web page. We have implemented a prototype of Micro-Webpage system on Android platform and confirmed that the prototype has reasonable performance improvements in saving memory and loading web page time.
Design and Implementation of the 4D-Media Broadcasting Service System in a Smart TV Environment

Recently, as the development of 3D contents service, production of 4D media that user can feel physical effects by the scene of movie has been increased. This 4D media uses the SMMD (Single Media Multiple Devices) method to give users enhanced effects with multiple devices playing rather than the SMSD (Single Media Single Device) method with single device playing in a smart TV environment. To give more sensible effects to users, from the beginning of making one media, we produced 4D media that consists of 3D contents and the SEM (Sensory Effect Metadata) to define effects of the scene. 4D media is transmitted to a HS (Home Server) to represent 3D contents in 3DTV and multiple devices with synchronized way. In this paper, we suggested the concept and overall 4D media broadcasting service system architecture, aggregator time acquisition, media time scheduling, real-sense device scheduling, evaluation results, user interfaces and implemented devices.
Testing System for Automotive Software Using a General Purpose Development Board

Recently automotive software has been more complex and needs to be reduced its development time. Software testing of its functionalities and performance should be conducted in an early development phase to reduce time to market and the development cost. Software functional testing can be performed through simulating the hardware, but it is not guaranteed that evaluation of real-time performance using simulation has enough accuracy. Real-time performance can be precisely evaluated with hardware-in-the-loop simulation, but it costs time and effort to set up hardware for testing. In this paper, we suggest a testing system that can evaluate functional requirements and real time properties with a general-purpose development board in the early development phase. In addition, we improve reusability of the testing system through modularized and layered architecture. With the proposed testing system we can contribute to building reliable testing system at low cost without difficulty.
An Indoor User-Tracking Mobile Robot Based on Infrared Signal Detection

We propose a method for an indoor mobile robot to track user with infrared transmitter. Several infrared receivers attached around by the mobile robot enable the robot to determine the moving direction by comparing the received signal patterns. The cost of the proposed system is not only cheaper than ultrasonic system, image signal processing, RFID, and RSSI method, but also robust against environment change because any complex algorithm is not necessary. In the mobile robot, ultrasonic sensors are equipped to avoid obstacles located in the moving direction, and a simple algorithm is embedded to avoid the case of poor signal reception.
Robot Control Interface Using Gaze Recognition

In this paper, we propose robot control interface using gaze recognition which is not limited by head motion. Most of the existing gaze recognition methods are working well only if the head is fixed. Furthermore the methods require a correction process per each person. The interface in this paper uses a camera with built-in infrared filter and 2 LED light sources to see what direction the pupils turn to and can send command codes to control the system, thus it doesn't need any correction process per each person. The experimental results showed that the proposed interface can control the system exactly by recognizing user's gaze direction.
Study on Automatic Generation of Platform Configuration Register in FlexRay Protocol

Recently, FlexRay was developed to replace controller area network (CAN) protocol in chassis networking systems, to remedy the shortage of transmission capacity and unsatisfactory real-time transmission delay of conventional CAN. FlexRay network systems require correct synchronization and complex scheduling parameters. However, because platform configuration register (PCR) setting and message scheduling is complex and bothersome task, FlexRay is more difficult to implement in applications than CAN protocol. To assist a network designer for implementing FlexRay cluster, this paper presents an analysis of FlexRay platform configuration register and automatic generation program of PCR. To demonstrate the feasibility of the automatic generation program, we evaluated its performance using experimental testbed.
Ticket-Based Authentication Protocol Using Attribute Information over Home Network

Recently, LEE et al. proposed an attribute-based authenticated key agreement protocol over home network, which aimed to support authentication and key agreement between user and home server. However, if the home server is attacked in the protocol, the effects are influenced to the overall home network components severly. Thereby, this paper proposes a new ticket-based authentication protocol using user attributes between user and home devices to solve the problem. The proposed protocol supports the various levels of security to user by diversifying the network accessibility depending on user attribute. Thereby, the protocol could support more secure home network services.
