Contextual Classifier with the Context Probability as a Weighting Function

The current methods of estimating contest distribution function in contextual clarifier are to "classify and count", GTGM (ground-truth-guided-method) and unbiased estimator. In this paper we propose a new contextual classifier echoes context distribution is replaced by context probability that is estimated from transition probability. The classification accuracy increases considerably compared with the classical one.
Vegetation Classification in Natural Swamp Area Using LANDSAT MSS

The study was emphasized on the applicability of Landsat data for vegetation classification of touch as small natural swamp areas Yujeon natural swamp in Haman-gun through image processing system. The image processing technique which was applied is maximum likelihood method. The classified types on the Landsat image are water, nelumbo, grass, agricultural field and conifer. The computer processed classification was compared the existed data for evaluating the result, but there are some difficulties on the exact comparison between them because of discordance of the temporal resolution. The result, anyhow, is quite remarkable that Landsat MSS data can be used for the quantitative estimates of vegetation type classification in such small area.
A Geographic Information System(GIS) Approach for Modeling a Soil Erosion Map from Available Data

The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) has been applied to the microcomputer based Geographic Information System (GIS) data planes to model a soil erosion map for a county. The conventional method applied by US Soil conservation Service (SCS) has been tedious and time consuming process on a mainframe computer which yields a multisectioned, hard to interprete, line printer map of the each county's soil loss. The new approach proved to be an economical and efficient tool for the natural resource managers in their decision malting in land conservation practice. They can simulate the variety of conservation practices and assess the cost and benefit without physically implementing the conservation measures.7he new approach also can produce all the other graphical and statistical reports.
Future Trends in Microcomputer Image Processing Technology

The progress in computer technology has significantly improved the capabilities of the microcomputer image processing systems and brought down their hardware costs. This on-going trend of technological development seems to bring further substantive improvements in microcomputer image processing and decreasing hardware costs. The technical development in microcomputer image processing system including VLSI technology, semiconductor memory, disk and tape storage, and image display subsystems have been reviewed and their future trend have been projected. The impact of this technology to the development of image processing has been assessed in the time period of immediate future (2-3 years) and near future (5 years).
Study on Optimum Meteorological Information System of Korea

This study has been intended to design an optimum meteorological information system appropriate for Korea as a part of 5 year development plan. The 5 year plan was that to set up new direction in order to modernize meteorological data acquisition, processing and information distribution. The detailed research has been led to presentation of optimum meteorological information system of Korea eventually, selecting the computerization of communication as the primary object of modernization. In the study, research concerning effective equipment configuration, data communications internal as wall as external, and the related implementations has been carried out with the approach of system component consideration under system application design. As tile results of the study, integrated network of meterorological data communication was presented including earth quakes, radar, aerologic, marine weather observations and so on.
