A Study on Correlation Between Subjective Assessment and EEG for Essential Odors

In the present study, the correlation between subjective assessment and EEG for essential odors were investigated quantitatively. EEG signals were measured from 19 electrodes according to the International 10-20 system (Fp1, Fp2, F3/4, F7/8, Fz, C3/4, Cz, P3/4, Pz, T3/4, T5/6, O1/2) from 8 healthy males subjects for four odor(Rose oil bulgarian, Lemon oil misitano, jasmin abs, Laverder oil france (KIMEX co. Ltd) conditions. The result of the subjective assessment shows the most pleasant odor for each subject. and the power spectrum of
of EEG signals from the most pleasant odor was compared with those from the control condition, which has no odor at all. Power spectrum of
of EEG from the most pleasant odor was increased significantly at T4, T6 compared to the control condition. This result implies that the parameter, power spectrum of
, could be an important index for signifying the levels of pleasantness for odors.
Correlation analysis of finger movements in dynamic hand grasping

AS human movements have the inherent property of anticipating target and can be coordinated to realize a given schedule, finger movements have stereotyped patterns during hand grasping. Finger movements have been studied in the past to find out the coordination pattern of hand joint angular movement. These studies analyzed only a few finger joints for a limited number of hand postures. This study investigated fourteen joint angles during eight hand-grasping motions to analyze the angular correlations between finger joints and to suggest motion factors which represent hand grasping. Hand grasping motions including forward arm motion were examined in ten healthy volunteers. Eight objects were used to represent real hand grasping tasks.

Comparative Study for the Measurement of Fermoral Anteversion by Manual Method and Image Viewer

The measurement of the fermoral anteversion is an important factor in the practice of orthopedic surgery. The anteversion is measured by means of the axis of head and neck of the femur. In this study. widely used computed tomography method of measuring anteversion was tested on femoral necks of patients. Measurement by the manual method and image viewer of computed tomography to determine the anteversion of femoral head were carried out on both femurs. In January and February 2001, 30 patients 3 to 6 years of age were randomly selected from Seoul National University Hospital. the purpose of this paper was to introduce a new method to measure femoral anteversion angle utilizing image viewer program. This new method was more accurate and convenient than the conventional manual method. No significant difference was observed between the manual method and the image viewer measurement of femoral anteversion. In conclusion, image viewer program was statistically more reliable in determining the angle of the fermoral anteversion.
A Study on Physical Work Capacity and Rest Allowance for Korean

The objective of this study was to investigate the physical work capacity and rest allowance for Korean males and females. Eleven males and 13 females participated in the study as subjects. An ergometer exercise test and a treadmill exercise test were conducted to measure oxygen consumption rates. The PWC values of Korean males and females were 2605.62ml/min and 1853.01ml/min in the cycle ergometer test, respectively, and 2872.10ml/min and 2057.91ml/min in the treadmill test. The PWC values of Korean females were about 70% of Korean males. The PWC values of Korean females were74.36%-78.79% of western males in the treadmill test. and 88.66%-89.32% of western males in the ergometer test. The PWC values of Korean females were 81.34%-82.98% of western females in the treadmill test, and 87.11% of western femaleles in the ergometer test. And, the results of this study showed that the rest allowance should be determined separately for male and female because of the difference in physical work capacity.
A Study on Causal Relations between Website User Satisfaction and Performance Measures

The purpose of this paper is propose an analytical method for evaluating user satisfaction of Internet website and identifying casual relationships between user satisfaction of Internet website and performance measures as like revisit intention and complaints using the structural equation model (SEM). This paper is intended to identify critical evaluation factors of user satisfaction for Internet website to determine criteria for evaluating the website. and use the criteria to develop a SEM model for quantitatively evaluation of each factors effects of user preference. The SEM model used 5 latent variables for the evaluation factors of website user satisfaction and 2 latent variables for performance evaluation. 2 portal sites were evaluated to construct the SEM model. and 74 subjects participated the website evaluation using the walk-through and face-to face survey method. Analysis results showed that the SEM model was statistically significant for all the 2 websites evaluated.
An Analysis of Blasting Accidents by Fault Tree Analysis

This study is for analyzing the explosion accidents in the tunnels, roads, subways, streets and various kinds of building construction area with the use of Fault Tree Analysis(FTA). based on the police Department and Guns & Explosives Safety Technology Association's researching materials. the explosion accidents have been investigated and analyzed between 1988 and 1977. As the result, we can find out that the majority of the explosion accidents in Korea is the accidents by flown stones(45.7%), like in Japan. So we make the research chart which is needed for analyzing the explosion accident, and then analyze these accidents systematically. using the investigation codes of the industrial accidents. After that, the FTA was performed on the accidents by flown stones. They result fromm non-observance of the safety rules, and lees knowledge of the safety and so on. Moreover several causes are combined and then the accidents are apt to happen. So according to the results of this study, for the protection of the explosion accidents, the specialized safety education is badly needed and the enough investigation of the places before the work along with the management for safety in working must be planned.
Development of Three Dimensional Scanner for Anthropometric Measurement

A three dimensional body scanner for anthropomentric measurement has been developed. In this study, the slit laser beam projection method followed by digital image processing was used to provide accurate spatial data with the typical optical triangulation method to overcome the many difficulties in traditional in accurate and time-consuming tactic measurement method using rulers and gauges. Compared with other commercialized scanners. this system can obtain a relatively wide range of data at a much lower cost by the specially designed scanning process such as the simultaneous acquisition of vertical and horizontal body cross-section profiles.
