We have surveyed on microcalorimetry which we can treat with energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) as wavelength dispersive spectrometer(WDS), to be developed in order to make higher energy resolution as to detect X-ray peak as high as wavelength dispersive spectrometer(WDS). When we take into consideration about energy resolution, Wavelength dispersive spectrometer is 2~20eV and energy dispersive spectrometer is 140~180eV.
The feasibility analysis for energy utilization of forest biomass

The optimal woodchip production system was developed and the production cost of a forest woodchip fuel was calculated for utilizing the pitch pine, which covers around 480,000ha nationwide. the marginal price of the woodchip fuel considering the factor of supply price, electricity and heat selling price as well as capacity factor were suggested and the economic sensitivity analysis was conducted for various scenario. The most important variable which determine economic feasibility was a fuel cost for the power generation facility. If the electricity price is higher than the current SMP(System Marginal Price) or the capacity factor is higher than 80%, there fully is a benefit to consume the woodchip fuels produced in the suggested production system in this study. In addition, the additional benefit becomes more obvious when considering REC(Renewable Energy Certificate) and CDM(Clean Development Mechanism). Therefore, it is strongly suggested for domestic power generation sector to utilize the forest biomass fuel to achieve the obligatory target of RPS.
A Study on The Virtuous Cycle of The Value Chain and Value System in Korean Photovoltaic Industry

This study has analyzed whether the virtuous cycle of value-added between the processes within the company has formed and whether the virtuous ecosystem between the processes within the industry has been built through the analysis of value chain(VC) and value system(VS) targeting the Korean photovoltaic companies. For a study method, after conducting a survey on the companies, a regression analysis was performed on the causal relationship between the process within the VC and VS. Based on the results of the analysis, for the VC of the Korean photovoltaic industry, an increase in the R&D support from the government has led to the increase in the investment of R&D for the related industry, and the increase in the investment of R&D has contributed to the increase in the growth of its productivity, and the growth in the productivity of R&D has influenced the increase in the production of solar products. In addition, the reduction of photovoltaic production cost for the company has influenced the increase of recurring profit margin compared to the sales. However it was shown that the increase in the company's production volume does not contribute to the reduction of production cost. Meanwhile, the increase in recurring profit margin compared to the sales were influencing the increase in the production volume but it was shown that the increase in the company's investment of R&D was not a contributing factor thus it was not included in the virtuous cycle. It was analyzed that the VS was shown not to influence all other processes within the industry except for the module companies where the increase in the recurring profit margin compared to the sales was influenced by the increase in the recurring profit margin compared to the sales of solar cell companies. This shows that the virtuous industrial ecosystem which should be made under the mutual cooperation by the ingot, wafer, solar cell, module and system companies are yet incomplete.
Evaluation of Anaerobic Fermentation and Nitrate Removal Efficiency of Sewage Sludge Pre-treated with Electrolysis

This study was performed with electrolysis treatment method for improving anaerobic digestion gas production efficiency in a sewage sludge, thereby confirmed in anaerobic digestion production and denitrification effect. As a result, solubilization was increased by increasing treatment time of electrolysis and current density, also showed to be 9.02% with 10 mA/cm2 of current density in 4 mm electrode distance. Based on the results of BMP test used the above experiment, methane production was 0.49 L CH4/g VS, and increased by 88.4% compared with control groups. As for the results of denitrification using the sewage sludge treated with the same conditions, denitrification rate appeared
, and through the sewage sludge treated with electrolysis, it can be applied to anaerobic digestion and denitrification process by increasing biodegradation.
Analysis on Energy Demand Resulting From the Change in Window Area & Installation of Interior Exterior Blinds

The ventilation frequency of 0.5 times in residential facilities is applied mandatorily to the housing facilities containing more than 100 house units to improve the indoor air quality and create comfortable interior conditions and pleasantness for residents. The Building Energy Efficiency Rating system requires the implementation of leakage test based on ventilation frequency with the test results being reflected in the efficiency ratings, thereby stimulating the precise construction of the fittings in the periphery of windows and savings of energy that can be lost due to the infiltration air. The inspection results of the Building Energy Efficiency Rating at the site showed that the ventilation frequency was in the range between 0.63 and 0.71 and that the difference was found to have a significant effect on the amount of energy reduction. It is urgent to conduct the study on highly leakage-proof buildings and construction methods, along with the expansion of mandatory leakage-proof diagnosis of non-residential buildings, considering the mandatory ventilation frequency below 0.6 for passive houses under the European standards and the target set by Korea to introduce the passive house, the rigorous standard for energy efficiency in buildings and mitigating their ecological footprint, by 2017 and achieve the zero house by 2025.
An Analysis on the Value Chain and the Value System of the Korean Wind Power Industry

This study analyzes whether the value-added structure of Korean wind power industry exhibits a virtuous cycle through the value chain(VC) within wind power firms and the value system(VS) among the wind power industries, using a regression analysis based on a survey about Korean wind power companies. According to the VC, the government's R&D support is analyzed to have contributed to an increase in the R&D investments of the wind power companies. An increase in corporates' R&D investments has led to an increase in corporates' R&D outputs, and in turn, induced a remarkable increase in the amounts of production. But an increase in production has not led to a decrease in the costs of production, not resulting in an increase in profit rates per sales amount. In addition, while an increase in profit rates is analyzed to have contributed to an increase in production, this did not induce further investments in corporate's R&D. The virtuous cycle of the value chain in Korean wind power firms is, therefore, analyzed to be weak. Next, the VS is analyzed by dividing the whole chain into the system group including rotor blades, gear boxes, and power generators, and the structure group, such as towers. Two groups are analyzed to have mutually positive effects in the processes of the government's support for corporates' R&D, corporates' investment in R&D, R&D outputs, and profit rates per sales amount. Such mutual positive effects are, however, not found in the processes of the amounts of production and the costs of production. These results demonstrates that the value system of Korean wind power industry is not completed. This study has a policy implication to need further efforts to create the virtuous cycle in the VC and VS of Korean wind power industry.

Study on the Measure to Encourage ESCO Business for Companies with Core Technology

The measure to encourage participation of ESCO business for companies with core technology may vary on the conditions of preference policy considerations. Accordingly, the three measures are can be suggested, evaluation points for incentives, loan allocated to a separate, and participation with consortium. This study recommends that the evaluation points for incentives is preferred in the ways. If the assumption that the allocation of large amounts of money, the amount of the loan allocated to a separate may be considered as suboptimal.
A Study on the Combustion Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engine by the Thermodynamic Properties Model

The past several years have seen a substantial growth in mathematical modeling activities whose interests are to describe the performance, efficiency and emissions characteristics of various types of internal combustion engines. The key element in these simulations of various aspects of engine operation is the model of the engine combustion process. Combustion models are then classified into three categories: zero-dimensional, quasi-dimensional and multidimensional models. zero-dimensional models are built around the first law of thermodynamics, and time is the only independent variable. This paper presents a introduction to the combustion characteristics of a spark ignition combustion modeling by zero-dimensional model.
An Experimental Study on Performance Characteristics of a Hydrogen Fuelled Spark Ignition Engine

The purpose of this study is to obtain low-emission and high-efficiency in LPG engine with hydrogen enrichment. The objective of this paper is to clarify the effects of hydrogen enrichment in LPG fuelled engine on exhaust emission, thermal efficiency and performance. The compression ratio of 8 was selected to avoid abnormal combustion. To maintain equal heating value of fuel blend, the amount of LPG was decreased as hydrogen was gradually added. The relative air-fuel ratio was increased from 0.76 to 1.5, and the ignition timing was controlled to be at minimum spark advance for best torque (MBT).
Analysis of Loss of HVAC for Nuclear Power Plant

Environmental qualification (EQ) for safety-related equipment is required to ensure that those equipment will perform their required function even under the harsh environment conditions arising from design basis accident in the nuclear power plant. As a part of EQ program, the room temperature analysis in case of a loss of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning(HVAC) system was carried out to ensure the operability of the safety-related equipment of a nuclear power plant randomly chosen among the Korean nuclear power plants. In this paper, this analysis was performed in the conservative perspective using GOTHIC code. The room temperature analysis includes selecting the rooms in which the safety related equipment are located but not supported by safety related HVAC and determining the temperature of the selected rooms. Target rooms for the analysis consist of W229/W237 (Aux. feedwater pump room), W232 (Aux. feedwater tank room) and W230 (Equipment passageway). The results showed the temperature range from
, in 72 hours after a loss of HVAC. Those values are far below of generic EQ temperature(
). Therefore, it is satisfied with EQ requirement of temperature limits on safety related equipment.
