A Experimental Study on the Arson Fire Characteristics

This Study is to analyze the characteristics of arson fire under fire dynamics to protect people and property from arson fire which has been radically increased with the development of the Korean economy. Assembly and merchandise purposes such as theater, retail, and exhibition has been performed as the arson fire study. The experiment for this study is based on the analysis of the characteristic for its own combustion process and smoke spread when arson fire occurs. This study presents the analysis through comparing the condition of setting fire using liquid fuel such as thinner on purpose to the condition of setting fire naturally depending on each occupancy.
The Relationship of VDT Work Condition and Fatigue Severity in the Financial Office Workers

This study was to investigate the relationship of VDT(visual display terminal) work condition and fatigue severity in the financial office workers. Questionnaires were completed by 662 persons in VDT workers of Post Office from January to May 2006. Multidimensional Fatigue Scale(MFS) that was developed in Korea Occupational Safety &Health Agency to estimate the degree of fatigue was used for study. In results, 149 persons(22.5%) in VDT workers were felt low fatigue severity, 351 workers(53.0%) were middle, and 162 workers (24.5%) were high. So it was appeared that one in four VDT workers felt the high fatigue severity. And woman VDT workers felt more fatigue severity than man. Also, fatigue severity was increased with increasing work time. Our findings suggest that VDT workers in financial office need proper health program to prevent occupational fatigue and disease.
The relationship between job characteristics and job stress, and the moderating effect of social support on the relationship

The purpose of this paper is to review the relationship between job characteristics and job stress responses(physiological response, psychological response, behavioral response), and the moderating effect of social support. Based on the responses from 187 employees in small & medium manufacturing industry, hierarchical regressional analysis showed that job characteristics factors have partly negative relationships with job stress response. However, job variety has positive relationship. Social support has partly moderating effect on the relationship between job characteristics and job stress.
A Study on the Influence of Internet Game Addiction using the AHP and Statistical Analysis

Rapid spread of the internet has made our everyday life more convenient, however it has brought some problems along with it. Especially, undergraduate student are losing their social ability as they become absorbed in the internet game, act selfishly in the cyber space and lose interest in studying. As a result, they become isolated from their friends and experience difficulty in the relationship with their parents. In this paper, the influence factors of internet game addiction is investigated using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and statistics techniques. This study is to define the influence an important factors of internet game addiction using a questionnaire to internet game player and expert group. It is believed that this study will be more receptive to results that include the priority weights of internet game addiction among the addiction group, non-addiction group and expert group.
A Study on Driving characteristics of the older drivers and younger drivers using a Driving Simulator

It's declining the number of deaths in total traffic accidents, but the death of elder drivers has increasing than younger drivers. So this paper wish to prevent the traffic accident of the elder drivers using driving simulator. It can help to make better policies and planning for elder drivers.
A Study on the Automotive Structural Change of High Intensity Discharge Head lamp

A test was conducted using two high density discharge lamps, the H2D and the structurally new H4D. They were tested for luminous illumination and luminous temperature in the day and night time. The test was conducted without crippling the performance of the H2D by adding a magnetic actuator, enabling it to move left to right, and up and down. By making these modifications we constructed a sample of the H4D. We compared the H2D and the H4D sample's luminous illumination and luminous temperature by using a photometer and a digital thermometer in the day and night time. We discovered that the H2D and H4D performed similarly from the data we gathered. Now we know the H4D has potential use and extensive research needs to be made to gather more detailed data.
An Exploratory Study on the Performance Indicators for Management that Reveals Creativity

The CEOs of global companies have been realized the imagination and creativity that can be obtained from the corporate culture is the crucial competitive power for sustainable growth. Thus, most domestic companies take an increasing interest in how to make creativity efficiently. This paper, however, argues that the proper application of performance indicators can engender creativity and innovation in organizations without costly investing on creativity. Assuming that creativity is actually dominated by the emotion of human resources rather than the rationality, this paper suggests the performance indicators developed based on the viewpoint of the characteristics of human needs and the relationship between the human needs and the attribute of works. The performance system which consists of activity, sociality and creativity is presented and the performance indicators for each category are also suggested to improve the spontaneity and creativity of human resources.
Developing Medium-size Corporate Credit Rating Systems by the Integration of Financial Model and Non-financial Model

Most researches on the corporate credit rating are generally classified into the area of bankruptcy prediction and bond rating. The studies on bankruptcy prediction have focused on improving the performance in binary classification problem, since the criterion variable is categorical, bankrupt or non-bankrupt. The other studies on bond rating have predicted the credit ratings, which was already evaluated by bond rating experts. The financial institute, however, should perform effective loan evaluation and risk management by employing the corporate credit rating model, which is able to determine the credit of corporations. Therefore, in this study we present a medium sized corporate credit rating system by using Artificial Neural Network(ANN) and Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP). Also, we developed AHP model for credit rating using non-financial information. For the purpose of completed credit rating model, we integrated the ANN and AHP model using both financial information and non-financial information. Finally, the credit ratings of each firm are assigned by the proposed method.
The Compression Ratio Change Characteristics of Engine Horse Power Characteristics

The object of this study is to investigate the penetration characteristics according to the change of stacking sequences and curvature radius in the composite laminated shell. They are staked to [02/902]S and [0/902/0]s, their interlaminar number are two and four. We are manufactured to composite laminated shells with various curvature radius. Curvature radius of composite shell is 100, 150, 200mm and
(it's meaning flat-plate). In general, kinetic energy after impact-kinetic energy before impact increased linearly in all specimens. Absorbed energy increased linearly as the curvature increased, and absorbed energy of [02/902]S specimen, which is small interlaminar number, was higher than [0/902/0]s specimen.
The package loading equipment development cutting both ends in the process of packaging lumber for improving the working environments

The package loading process of the lumbering industry is an operation that after a pair of workers bind three or six lumbers into one unit and cut both ends of the lumbers, transports the weight cargo of 30-50kg by one meter, pack and load at a height of 1.2 meters. This package loading process causes lots of noise and wood dust when workers carry out the heavy work as the above. Therefore we developed the monolithic both ends cutting package loading equipment in order to prevent from getting musculoskeletal disease. An loading bar working system of this equipment is improved from pneumatic pressure system to oil pressure system, furnished the newly designed flow dividers, and developed the new system that a both end array is loaded identically. Also we developed the safety equipment of loading bar in order to prevent workers mistake and overload from malfunction during the package loading process. The main cause of job evasion on working place could be solved by preventing the musculoskeletal disease and improving the working environments.
A Study on Defining Improvement Opportunities for Value Creating Six Sigma

Six sigma has been evolved into three generations. The first generation focused on eliminating or reducing defects as Motorola originally developed and applied. The second generation focused on reducing costs and improving process efficiency as GE extended the first generation. The next generation of six sigma such as D2MAIC(Discovery, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and ICRA(Innovate, Configure, Realize, Attenuate) has been discussed since the beginning of the 21st century. Although the third generation of six sigma emphasizes value creation, but there are few specific tools for its implementation. In this thesis, some tools for finding opportunities for value creation are suggested. It is explained and discussed with examples how the tools can be applied.
The Advancement of Conformity Assessment Scheme in Korea

Recently Conformity Assessment Scheme has greatly played a role in development of domestic industry. But it has limits in responding to change of environment surrounding standard. Therefore management environment has been changed, standard has been more important, and new treaties as like WTO/TBT have been appeared. In these respects this research tries to analyze the policy trends of developed countries and problems of domestic institutions. And it tries to propose seven plans to progress Conformity Assessment Scheme including improvement of domestic standard system on the basis of analytical implications.

Implementation of Customized EPM for Collaborative Resource Procurement in Small and Medium Size Plant Construction Enterprises

The need for total enterprise management that covers from accepting orders, design, cost, procurement, manufacture, and delivery has been recently raised in order for efficient project management of small and medium size plant construction enterprises. This trend is reflected in the introduction of EPM(Enterprise Project Management) solutions by some shipbuilding enterprises and large construction corporations. In step with the trend, small and medium size plant construction enterprises are enabled to provide knowledge base in terms of reducing cost and production period and managing portfolio for accepting orders and attaining contract by inducing customized EPM This study presents a design of customized EPM based on a case study of a company. It exhibits a collaborative/collaboration resource-supply model which can be universally applied to small and medium size job-order production enterprises. The research discusses that under the assumption that information is shared internally between departments on planning, supply, manufacture, and quality control in order to create collaborative environment and close participation is created externally between suppliers and orderers, productivity can be improved in cost reduction through planning efficient collaborative supply model.
Classification of Major Barriers to the Application of RFID Systems and a Guideline for Successful Application

With the recent rapid growth of RFID technologies, the Application of RFID systems into the medical or the military industries as well as into the distribution and logistics industry are now attempted continuously. The government and private sectors plan to carry out various small and large scale projects related to RFID systems. However, many companies attempting to apply RFID systems applications into their organizations are encountering many several difficulties because of the lack of installation experience and the absence of an useful guideline. This paper focuses on identification and classification of typical barriers to the successful application of RFID systems according to the five-step method of system application process. Moreover a "barrier map" is produced by conducting a survey and interviews by specialists. In addition, a practical guideline to overcome such barriers is presented and discussed.
A Study on Multi-Reader Management module Based On Gen2

The ubiquitous, which is developed for human's convenience, uses the concept of situation awareness that communicates with computer and performs a certain work without user's recognition. In order to collect the information of situation, many devices are required. Also, in the condition of ubiquitous middleware, priority is given to effective controls of various devices. There are many devices for collecting the information of situation awareness such as sensor, RFID, etc. Among them, in the use of RFID, the researcher performed the experiment, in which multiple readers were used depending on the necessity of awareness information, and found the problem of intervention between readers occurring when multiple readers are used. The paper handles the problem of intervention causing from using multiple readers and suggests middleware design module using session manager to solve the problem.

These days, international air-logistics demand is getting bigger and bigger by increasing in trading volumes of export and import of Asia. It makes the air logistics of stakeholder to invest in air logistics facilities and information systems for meeting the growth of air transportation. However there are some problems that the efficiency of investment is not good by duplicately investing in information systems and moreover not compatible with each other because the stakeholder is investing in individual information system and air logistics facilities instead of constructing the integrated infrastructure. In this paper, we investigated the export, import, and transshipment process of air logistics to simplify air logistics process through the RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) application and the 4PL system.
A Study on Development of Multi-Channel Voice Guidance System based on Active 2.45GHz RFID

In this study we develop core technology of Multi-Charmel Voice Guidance System based on active 2.45GHz RFID that can be used in the field of advertising. Through this, we can service more familiar with voice information to foreigners by own language in large scale international event. As an alternative to the current high-expensive voice guidance system in exhibition hall and provide more value added services to user. As the result, we present the configuration of integrated software platform which include media server, media client and receiver. It can be as a basis infra equipment for a signtseeing in RFID/USN environment. Additionally through tag information analysis about exposure of advertisement that is collected late, supposed system may achieve role as a new marketing tool.

Design of Distribution Facility for Cross Docking Systems

Cross docking is a warehouse management concept in which items delivered to a distribution facility by inbound trucks are immediately sorted out and reorganized based on customer demands and are routed and loaded into outbound trucks for delivery to customers without actually being held in inventory in the distribution facility. In this research, the design of distribution facility for cross docking systems was studied. The objective of this research is to find the minimum number of receiving docks and shipping docks, respectively, in order to meet the daily demand of the distribution center. Two solution approaches are employed in modeling and solving the problem The first approach is mathematical modeling and the second approach is a simulation. The logic developed in the simulation model is expected to apply to the real world situation.
A Study of Statistical Tools Application - Evaluation of Process Capability -

The purpose of this study is to develop a guideline of process capability evaluation and to apply this guideline improving the quality of products, especially in the small and medium enterprises. In this study we deal in the concept of process capability evaluation, the calculation of process capability index, and the application of a case study. Man must compare the state of process with the standards in evaluating of the process capability. Control chart can be used as a yardstick for judgement for the long term period and the distribution shape of histogram for the short term period. Man should regard to the significant figure by the calculation of process capability index.
Interpretation of Quality Statistics Using Sampling Error

The research interprets the principles of sampling error design for quality statistics models such as hypothesis test, interval estimation, control charts and acceptance sampling. Introducing the proper discussions of the design of significance level according to the use of hypothesis test, then it presents two methods to interpret significance by Neyman-Pearson and Fisher. Second point of the study proposes the design of confidence level for interval estimation by Bayesian confidence set, frequentist confidential set and fiducial interval. Third, the content also indicates the design of type I error and type II error considering both productivity and customer claim for control chart. Finally, the study reflects the design of producer's risk with operating charistictics curve, screening and switch rules for the purpose of purchasing and subcontraction.
A Study on Multi Criteria Product Positioning Analysis Using SN ratio

Using this model, SN ratio of taguchi method for each of subjective factors as well as values of weights are used in this comprehensive positioning method for product. A example is presented to illustrate the model and to show a rank reversal when compared to a model that eliminates the highest and lowest customers' values allocating the weights and the subjective factors.
A Study on Management for Measuring Instrument of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises - Focusing on the Inspection Gig -

Measurement is used for evaluation of product or process exactly. If it couldn't measured correctly, Quality-cost must be raised and it would be hard to improve product quality. So, this study suggests improvement guide line for the multilateral problems of measuring instrument operation based on the investigation of 157 small and medium-sized enterprises in February, 2008. To use inspection gig correctly, man who treat it must be accustomed with the structure, the performance, the method. The inspection gig is selected properly for the measurement goal. If not, results couldn't be correctly or wasted time, efforts, and costs. When selecting a inspection gig, the locating, the clamping, and the efficiency must be considered.
A Study on The Utility Estimation about Employment of The Disabled

It is expected that the change of industrial structure of Knowledge based economy, and service based economy would affect on economic life of physically-challenged person with no exceptions. There have been some former studies which have been misunderstood the employment of disabled due to the declining employment of the disabled and prejudice to the disabled based on biased perspective and public opinion. This study have analyzed the employment conditions of the ordinary workers and disabled workers out of those prejudices and biased opinions. Wage, economic activity ratio, age, educational background and industry those 5 parameters are brought for analyzing the two comparison group. Each parameter have compared based on the statistical data of ordinary workers and disabled workers for past 7 years. Weight between each parameter have been drawn by collecting the experts' opinion using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), and utility of employment of two comparison groups have been estimated through progress inclination of each parameter. Through the estimated outcome, present condition and controversial issues and way of improvement of domestic employment of ordinary workers and the disabled is mentioned.
