Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 1~9
To keep an enterprise's competitiveness on the condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously In not only in production and maintenance but also in related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for preventing industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique are studied by using of the knowledge-based system under the real-time computer-operating environment and using fuzzy linguistic variable. This computer system based knowledge-based diagnosis can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert system about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robots, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility all the time. Therefore, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety when we use this system.
A Study on Safety Inspection Model for Small Scale Construction Field
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 11~21
Domestic construction industry has considerable level of construction performance and technology thanks to the economic development and as the result of performing diverse oversea construction project. However, construction disasters have been steadily increasing, and do severe disasters at faster pace. Most of such disasters happen at small and small medium-sized construction fields, which contract size is less than 10 billion won. small and medium-sized construction fields are not obliged to designate a safety manager, and have limitations in engaging self-regulating disaster prevention activities due to reduced budget for safety facilities. For the small and medium-sized construction sites with less than 10 billion won, the Ministry of Labor has been carrying out mobile inspections of construction safety. However, the effect so far is insignificant and an improvement plan is required. Therefore, in the present thesis, we derive problems appearing in the current construction safety mobile inspection system, investigate and study systems in foreign countries, and suggest an efficient and effective plan to operate safety technology inspections. First of all, we establish a standard to select sites to be inspected that are high in construction risk and disaster occurrence probability In addition, we suggest a plan to take administrative and judiciary measures based on the total score for disaster factors considering the disaster occurrence probability and the illegal practices. Furthermore, a scheme to maximize the effect of disaster prevention is sought by building an organic cooperative system between the Ministry of Labor, Korea Occupational Safety ＆ Health Agency and other organizations specialized in instruction of construction disaster prevention. Finally, we induce a research conclusion that leads to self-regulating safety management through checking and instructing systematic management on mobile inspections.

A study on the Method to Determine Optimal Service Level of a Distribution Center in Supply Chain Management Environment
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 55~64
The main objective of this research is to develop a model to select the optimal input service level for a distribution center-multi branch inventory distribution system. With the continuous review policy, the distribution center places an order for specific order quantity to an outside supplier, and the order quantity is replenished after a certain lead time Also, each branch places an order for particular order quantity to the distribution center to satisfy the customer demands, and receives the replenishment after a lead time. When an out of stock condition occurs during an order cycle, a backorder is placed to the upper level to fill the unfilled demands. With these situation, variable demand and variable lead time are used for better industrial practice. Further, actual lead times with a generic lead time distribution are used in developing the control model. Under the actual lead time model, the customer service measures actually attained for the distribution center and each branch are explained as the effective customer service measures. Thus, throughout the optimal control (using computer search procedures), we can select the optimal input service levels for the distribution center and each branch to attain the effective service levels for each branch which is consistent with the goal level of service for each branch. At the same time, the entire distribution system keeps minimum inventories.
Analysis of Safety Stock and Service Level For an Distribution Center with Variable Demand Variable Lead Time Model
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 65~75
This research fundamentally deals with an analysis of service level for a multi-level inventory distribution system which is consisted of a central distribution center and several branches being supplied stocks from the distribution center, Under continuous review policy, the distribution center places an order for planned order quantity to an outside supplier, and the order quantity is received after a certain lead time. Also, each branch places an order for particular quantity to its distribution center, and receives the order quantity after a lead time. In most practical distribution environment, demands and lead times are generally not fixed or constant, but variable. And these variabilities make the analysis more complicated. Thus, the main objective of this research is to suggest a method to compute the service level at each depot, that is, the distribution center and each branch with variable demands and variable lead times. Further, the model will give an idea to keep the proper level of safety stocks that can attain effective or expected service level for each depot
A Study on the Operation of Physical Distribution System with the Allocation of Safety Stock
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 77~86
An operational strategy for inventory control on finished goods in the distribution system has been given attention to many enterprises and many studies regarding this field have been done and is also on-going currently. Many of these studies represented a large scale distribution network with a unified formulation by using defined symbols. These methods have provided the systematic approach of the distribution network but they are impossible to applying the reality system due to not considering the service rate of demand and treating the shortage of inventory. In order to overcome these unrealistic problems, the novel safety stock policy of responding to customers' inventory distribution network is suggested. this paper explores the transportation between Central Distribution Center(CDC) and Regional Distribution Center(RDC). Especially, the relation of transportation cost between CDC and RDC and cost of inventory control according to safety inventory with service level are emphasized. We could obtain the good results of this study by determining the optimal safety stock considering the various variables and constraints.

A Study on the Appraisal of Site - on focus I-Evaluation model-
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 151~164
Currently, there are little evaluated model for each industry and systematic analysis for each item about current business web sites. And the approach way to improve it all depends on individual. This research is about two different points of view on I-Evaluation development as an approach method to provide analysis, evaluation, and guideline on business web sites. The one is about developing a working step and a site evaluation model that are necessary to improve the quality of site. The other is about a framework development to apply a feedback on site most rapidly and site optimization. The former is from the methodological point of view for I-Evaluation, and the latter is from the point of view for I-Evaluation Framework. In terms of methodology, developing site evaluation model and defining a working step belong to it. Site evaluation model means customizing each customers web site, using each evaluated scoring model which can be a standard for each industry to analyze a similar business web site. Defining a working step means defining input and output parameters for composed elements, working processes, and results analysis on an evaluated model. And also it includes building a working environments to automatic steps mentioned the above by clarifying them.

Additional functions are making the goods category, related goods to be simultaneously ordered, price comparison with other sites within the Mall & Malls, best seller goods, store advertisement, substitutive goods, and mileage policy. As a result of that, we can respect SuperMall is better than other Mall & Mall as to diversity and flexibility of constructed Cyber Shopping Mall.
Evaluation of Non - Normal Process Capability by Johnson System
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 175~190
We propose, a new process capability index
(WV) applying the weighted variance control charting method for non-normally distributed. The main idea of the weighted variance method(WVM) is to divide a skewed or asymmetric distribution into two normal distributions from its mean to create two new distributions which have the same mean but different standard deviations. In this paper we propose an example, a distributions generated from the Johnson family of distributions, to demonstrate how the weighted variance-based process capability indices perform in comparison with another two non-normal methods, namely the Clements and the Wright methods. This example shows that the weighted valiance-based indices are more consistent than the other two methods in terms of sensitivity to departure to the process mean/median from the target value for non-normal processes. Second method show using the percentage nonconforming by the Pearson, Johnson and Burr systems. This example shows a little difference between the Pearson system and Burr system, but Johnson system underestimated than the two systems for process capability.
Distributed Genetic Algorithms for the TSP
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 191~200
Parallel Genetic Algorithms partition the whole population into several sub-populations and search the optimal solution by exchanging the information each others periodically. Distributed Genetic Algorithm, one of Parallel Genetic Algorithms, divides a large population into several sub-populations and executes the traditional Genetic Algorithm on each sub-population independently. And periodically promising individuals selected from sub-populations are migrated by following the migration interval and migration rate to different sub-populations. In this paper, for the Travelling Salesman Problems, we analyze and compare with Distributed Genetic Algorithms using different Genetic Algorithms and using same Genetic Algorithms on each separated sub-population The simulation result shows that using different Genetic Algorithms obtains better results than using same Genetic Algorithms in Distributed Genetic Algorithms. This results look like the property of rapidly searching the approximated optima and keeping the variety of solution make interaction in different Genetic Algorithms.

The results are summarized in a table, and can be used as a quick reference guide to the software quality engineering application such as quality evaluations for software products, selection of key engineering attributes for high-quality software production, and so forth.
Development of Simulation Model to Assembly Tolerance Design
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 221~230
The assembly tolerance design methods have applied linear or nonlinear programming methods and used simulation method and search algorithms to optimize the tolerance allocation of each part in an assembly. However, those methods are only considered to the relationship between tolerance and manufacturing cost, which do not consider a quality loss cost for each part tolerance. In this paper, the integrated simulation model used genetic algorithm and the Monte-Carlo simulation method was developed for the allocation of the optimal tolerance considering the manufacturing cost and quality loss cost.
A Study on Electric Properties of Epoxy Resin on Filler Shape
Journal of the Korea Safety Management and Science, volume 3, issue 3, 2001, Pages 231~241
The epoxy resin materials used in outdoor high voltage equipments are required to have the high electric performance because of the miniaturization. The frequence dependence of the permittivity and the loss tangent have important information. In this paper we describe the frequency dependence of the permittivity and the loss tangent for epoxy resin filled with silica and the influence of filler shapes on the dielectric properties. The increment of tan
in the low frequency region is caused by the increment of both the electrical conductivity and the polarization due to the shape of filler and the water absorbed in and near the interface between fillers and resins. The result of charge current and discharge measure, electric conduction is increased according to voltage.
