TPM(Total Productive Management) that is enforcing introducing more than
in domestic manufacturing industry is using total plant efficiency by the evaluation index, and as a result, can see a lot of examples that plant productivity is increased. This study's purpose centers total productive management activities that is management system for total plant efficiency's maximization, plant information system that total productive management activities factor that is enforcing in manufacturing industry can develop evaluation model that can evaluate qualitative activities by quantitative activities in process that maximize total plant efficiency wishes to do design.
A Study on Analysis and DMAIC Preventive Operations for Cargo Handling Accidents In Inchon Port

Many countries of the world is driving forward development of large-scale hub port. They are now pushing ahead with setting up of effective marketing strategies to survive in keen competitions of the 21st century port industry. The port is of ever increasing importance for the bridge connecting sea and road transportation in handling international cargoes. The port, differently from general working places, is a closed area required for security, customs, and quarantine procedures. The loading and unloading is being done differently by ports, cargoes, and ships. To do loading and unloading, a lot of equipment and different types of labor are required, which flow is complicated and safe management is essential. As above mentioned the port is very unique and very deteriorated working place in its working environment. The purpose of this study is to propose ways to reduce and prevent from port accidents. As first step to do this, we have collected 923 accidents happened at Incheon Port during the period of 1994 to 2003. We have thoroughly analyzed characteristics, harmfulness, and risk of the loading/unloading they have done, as well as the accident frequency and relationship between the accidents. As second step to further analyze, We have employed DMAIC technology, an advanced process of 6 sigma presently in spotlight as the best program for management innovation. This analysis results in recognition of important accident characteristics, causes and effects analysis, critical causes of accident, and suggestions to decrease accidents.

A study is for the approach that we could reduce the logistics costs through uprising the efficiency, complying to the demand in time, stock management based on the general production plan in the point of SCM. We will take following steps to get the goal. First, we will overview the physical distribution expenses annually. Second, will find the main cause of optimal load loss by improper container and lack of delivery flexibility to the demand. Third, the goal will be inferred through the fast information share based on organic relationship, the establishment of general production plan, the improvement of stock management plan. By way of this process, it can be accomplished expense reduction as well as flexible establishment of the reduction of worker's load.
A simulation program practical use to forecast the improvement effectiveness of the work place noise

Prescribed according to the occupational safety and health low noise measurement method was changed to personal sampling in the method to measure an area noise. Such method had the limit which did not evaluated characteristic of sound of occurrence and the place of origin. This study was peformed to establish an engineering remedy of the work-place noise. Study on Developing a Monitoring System for Safe Fire Testing

On this research, we show some concrete examples as software design, 2D/3D display, graph display, and gage display to develop a data monitoring system for real time safe fire testing. Developed software which is simulation software for live fire testing, has been designed to display informations about whole test status in a live fire testing, and with this, user can control a live fire testing under the safe environment. Beside, we increase a security by using a authority of user to access on this software. and we develop it based on module designed to apply a requirement of user later on.
Tolerance Intervals for Expected Time at the Given Reliability and Confidence Level

This paper is to propose tolerance intervals for expected time at the given reliability and confidence level for continuous and discrete reliability model. We consider guaranteed - coverage tolerance intervals, that is, reliability - confidence level tolerance intervals. These proposed methodologies can be applied to any industrial application where the customer's operating specification require a high level of reliability.
Productivity Enhancement of Automotive Glass Manufacturing Company by the Improvement of Working Environment

The purpose of this study is to execute the investigation of injurious factors causing muscle-skeletal diseases at an automotive glass manufacturing company and, on the basis of the results, to enhance productivity by the improvement of working environment. By using an survey and an ergonomic evaluation method, symptoms of muscle-skeletal diseases of workers and working postures at each process were analyzed, and quantitative evaluation of muscle-skeletal disease risk against each process was performed. Based on the result of the evaluation, to enhance the working environment, improvement of worktable, working space, tools, and outfit was suggested, and induction of mechanical system was also suggested. Suggested improvement plan was applied to the workplace step by step and it is confirmed that improvement plan not only removes the injurious factors of muscle-skeletal diseases but also is effective to enhance productivity.
A study on the logistics cost reduction in textile industries by introducing Pad Pool System

Many Korean companies are challenged to reduce logistics cost and meet environmental-friendly logistics. The textile companies in harsh competition are requested to make improvement on their logistics environment to cut down the total cost. However, they have reached the limit on improving the manufacturing process. We believe that the logistics department is the most improvable part at present. Improving logistics will be highly effective to cut down the total cost. In this study, we present Pad Pool System(PPS) as the solution to save their logistics cost. PPS, which means the shared use of Styrofoam pads, will enable the textile companies to cut down their cost and strengthen enterprise competitiveness. Also, PPS will be helpful reducing environmental disruption because the system reuses retrieved Styrofoam pads many times.

A review of the natural development trend of ISO authentication service in Korea

In these days, there is doubt about the effectiveness of ISO-9000 and ISO-14000 which are generally introduced in korean corporation by the consensus and even by corporations themselves. In order to find out the reason about the doubt, we should unterstand the present situation, and concider what countermeasure shall we take. It's obvious that if there is no doubt about the effectiveness and availability for quality system authenticated and verified by the international, then all the authentication can be made from that excellent system. In that case, it is necessary to find out wheather it only exists in Korea or it genally exists internationally. This thesis considers the problems and try to search for a system management project and measure which is suitable for Korea.
An Integrated System of EWMA and EPC Using Second-order Autoregressed Model in the Process with Trend

EPC seeks to minimize variability by transferring the output variable to a related process input(controllable) variable, while SPC seeks to reduce variability by detecting and eliminating assignable causes of variation. In the case of product control, a very reasonable objective is to try to minimize the variance of the output deviations from the target or set point. We consider an alternative EPC model with second-order autoregressive disturbance. We compare three control systems; EPC, EPC combined with EWMA. This paper shows through simulation that tlhe performance of the integrated model of EPC and EWMA is more preferable than that of EPC.
Construction of Integrated Sustainable Management System Considering Safety and Environment

This paper is to construct the integrated sustainable management (ISM) system. This research focuses on the intergration of two concepts - balanced scorecard management system and the three pillars of sustainability. The system certification, product certification, innovation and participation tools are considered in constitutional elements for ISM system. Finally, this paper proposes the causal analysis, the third assessment, reporting for ISM system.
