A Study of the Effects of Wearing Gloves on Grip Strength and Safety

Grip strength provides a quick and objective index of the functional integrity of the upper extremities. It is widely used as an assessment measure in physical and rehabilitation medicine. In this study, maximum voluntary grip strength of 20 college students wearing 5 different gloves were measured using Jamar hand dynamometer. The results show that maximum voluntary grip strength was generally reduced when wearing gloves as compared to bare-handed. More specifically, the grip strength was highest when wearing PVC coated glove or bare-handed and getting lowered as wrist band, rubber, leather, and cotton glove in these order. Depending on the measuring posture of grip strength, shoulder height with arm extended forward was higher than the elbow was flexed 90 degree. Moreover, subjects' demographic factors and hand dimensions were not closely related to the grip strength. It is thus recommended that the proper glove should be provided to reduce the negative consequences including dropping a tool, poorer control of a tool. lower quality work, and increased muscle fatigue and in turn to increase the user safety and satisfaction.
Study on Developing Simulator for Activating Company Risk Management System

Critical incident can be happened at any time, any places without any pre-notification. For minimizing the loss of the life safety, financial and so on caused by the risk, most of company needs a system what can activate the critical incident management plan to prevent, plan for and respond to events that become critical incident. But a lot of company still don't have such a detailed system in our country and almost company has no effective training way for to boot. This paper shows the way to activate the risk management system to work efficiently the plan. The training way, proposed by this paper, is a incident command simulator based on virtual reality and scenario generation software.
A Study on Engineering Design IT Installation of Thermal Relief Valve in a Chemical Plant

Based on the practical process engineering design and commissioning and startup operation experiences focused on chemical process safety, the comprehensive review of engineering design and installation of the thermal relief valve with its surrounding facility in a chemical plant piping system is provided to enhance the better understanding of the piping system of characteristics of thermal relief valve which is comprised of the theoretical approach, correlation in terms of temperature and pressure increase caused by external heat supply in a piping system, consideration of thermal relief valve engineering design, pressure relieving system of serial thermal relief valves and exception of their installation. It is earnestly suggested that following topic should be implemented during thermal relief valve engineering design, installation and normal operation as well.

The purpose of this study is to explore the correspondence level to product Liability in the enterprises. The results of this study are to offer basic information for a planned manufacturing system for safety products. Especially important things are build up the foundation of system and abide by it for safety products. The producer and supplier(distributors) of the products should satisfy the increasing consumer safety needs. This survey show us that manufacturing the safety products is important factors for korean enterprise management. But, in the reverse, neglect to take appropriate measures promptly.
The Technology Valuation Model for Technology of Management

Recently, the technology is getting to be the most important factor for companies, as the industry is changing fast. The uncertainty and complexity of technology valuation arc higher so that the technology concentrated companies need more developed and high performance technology. This paper reviews the methods of technology valuation for five categories that have been developed by valuation researchers, (1) research of technology diffusion and acceptance model, (2) research of technology valuation, (3) research of technology import and export factor, (4) research of technology valuation model, (5) research of technology transfer and market. And we propose a new technology valuation model using need(market), seed(technology) and deeds(management) factor by cross impact matrix. This model gives us the reference negotiation range for deciding the amount of royalty. I hope this paper induces more research on this field of technology valuation.

This middleware system supports the real time data gathering, filtering, and collaborative operations within SCM. We expect to decrease the data processing cost and to upgrade the status of RTE(Real Time Enterprise) and competitive power of company.

One of The standard issue in riding on the wave of the information system(IS) is records of performance, grow unprecedently fast, and has highly uncertain future. Within the framework of IS Evaluation, The main purpose of this study is to suggest performance quality evaluation system as follows, The Integrated Quality Evaluation Model Design(IQEMD) of Information System helps corporations to improve productivity, customer service and corporate competitive power. To respond flexibly this trend, we have to realize that the information system has to keep the most effective optimal information network at the proper time. The existing evaluation method has been concentrated on the evaluation of a degree of the information system maturity focused on static viewpoints. The evaluation of potential factors to affect the future-oriented performance, that can analyze both unit business being able to apply an information system base was used efficiently well and what performance evaluation item was obtained actually, was insufficient relatively. In this paper, An integrated quality evaluation method will analyze a degree of information system maturity in dynamic evaluation viewpoints rather than in static evaluation viewpoints. finally we estimated the relative degree of importance of each determinant using the AHP methodology The validity of the proposed model was also partially proved using two different methods, holistic and historical approach.
A study on the degree of influence of technology by AHP and ANP

The ANP(Analytic Network Process), though based on the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), is a system for the analysis, synthesis, and justification of complex decisions with the capability to model non-linear relations between the elements. ANP allows the decision makers to leap beyond the traditional hierarchy to the interdependent environment of network modeling. The ANP is designed for problems characterized by the added complexity of interdependencies such as feedback and dependencies among problem elements. Using a network approach makes it possible to represent and analyze interactions, incorporate non-linear relations between the elements, and synthesize mutual effects by a single logical procedure. This study intends to evaluate the contribution of technology in intangible assets by the AHP and ANP.
Design of Vender Selecting System Application to Expert System

The purpose of this thesis addresses a development of an expert system to support a decision making of the vender selection. The researches related to the vender selection problems have been studied and they provide 23 criteria to select proper venders. In this thesis, 8 criteria have been used to construct a knowledge base of the expert system. The system in this thesis consists of 6 steps in its procedure. Step 1 decides a specification that satisfies customer's needs and Step 2 chooses a part supplied by a vender. The type of an outside order is decided in Step 3 and some venders satisfying the customer's needs are selected in Step 4. Some of the venders chosen from step 4 which do not satisfy the fatal cirteria(that is Quality, Delivery, Price) can be deleted in Step 5. In the last step, 8 cirteria is used to select 3 venders according to their ranking. Consequently, this program provides for a man, who does not have the experiances, an efficient way to select appropriate venders in the vender selection problems.
A Batch Processing Problem for Jobs with Variable Processing Sneed

This paper deals with a batch processor model in which the batch processing speed depends on the jobs assigned to the batch. Each job is completed by accomplishing its required job processing quantity which is calculated as job speed product processing time. Its speed is given as not the exact value but the range. Thus the batch sets are constructed by the jobs which hold the speed in common. And the batch sets are processed as soon as possible. We developed the model to described the problem situation and adopt the total tardiness as the decision criterion.
On the Optimal Decision Making in the Compensatory Models

Multi-criteria decision making is deducing the relative importance in the criterion of decision making and each alternative which is able to making a variety of choices measures the preferred degree in the series of town ranking criterions. Moreover, this is possible by synthesizing them systematically. In general, a fundamental problem decision maker solve for multi-criteria decision making is evaluating a set of activities which an considered as the target logically, and this kind of work is evaluated and synthesized by various criterions of the value which a chain of activities usually hold in common. In this paper, we use the compensatory models for the optimal decision making. For the purpose of optimal decision making, the data of five different car models are used in Europe.

Many corporations are accepting various kinds of business reform techniques to be adapted and overcome in this e-Business period. Among these techniques, team-organization is selected most in person/organization field. The introduction of team-organization is more needed and spread, so many corporations actually constructed team-organization formation form. But the result has not been active. Therefore after team-organization is introduced to improve the performance evaluation of team management, the result of team management performance should be correctly measured to find out and settle the problems of team-organization. The purpose of this research presents the development of the model of team-management performance evaluation and the method of the proper measurement based on BSC.
Classification of Six Sigma Innovation Process

This paper is to propose new features and models for process innovation after classifying in three categories ; conventional six sigma, lean six sigma and 3rd generation six sigma. First considering two project types which are bottom-up and tod-down, DMAIC process is linked up with QC story 15 steps. Secondly, I present Koreanized lean six sigma model using Japanese production technology and principles. Lastly, this paper also depicts a new 3rd generation six sigma model utilizing MBNQA management quality system.
A Comparative Study on the LCA Cases for Power Generation Technologies

A life cycle assessment(LCA) is increasing its applicability as a powerful tool for an environmental burdens analysis. In this study, some cases are compared in terms of analysis procedures and results obtained with LCAs for evaluating power generation technologies in Korea. For the comparison, 3 power generation technologies are selected because they produces almost 90% of 2003 total electricity generation in Korea. It is shown that the range of evaluation values amounts to maximally the order of about 105, which is rather large discrepancy than the level of 101 in comparison with foreign studies. The difference seems to be due to the simplicity of modeling used in each case study. It is proposed that this large discrepancy should be obviously clarified to improve their reliability in that electricity is a essentialness for all industries and the capacity of LCA of national-level electricity affects the results of LCA for the other sectors.
