A Study on Safety Engineering & System Optimization in the Closed Piping System

To improve the practical application of the thermal expansion of closed long pipeline exposing to external heating sources such as solar energy, safety engineering and system optimization for relief valve in the closed piping system are suggested through theoretical approach, correlation in view of temperature and pressure increase caused by external solar energy in the closed piping system. The profile for thermal relief valve including relieving capacity, influx heat energy, sizing criteria, set pressure, selection against back pressure is also presented. It is noted that following topic on solar relief valve should be applied to engineering, installation and commissioning.
A Study on Safety Personality of Railway Personnel

There may be several factors influencing the safety performance of railway safety personnel. These include human psychological and physiological states, physical conditions about working environment, and workers' stress and fatigue etc. Some researches indicate that human personality is close connection with human error. This study focuses on the workers' personality which is one of psychological traits of railway safety personnel. Thus, we survey and analyze it for railway safety personnel-locomotive engineers, station employees, and train commanders-in Korean railway company. Through the survey that is designed to investigate eight safety personality factors from the questionnaires composed of seventy eight questions, we study the workers' personality factors related to railway safety according to affiliated offices, operations, age, and working years. Finally, after categorizing survey results into sixty six patterns, we explain an example to show a corresponding worker to the pattern result.

Present time there are many risk analysis method in the world. A hazard is an exposure that has the potential to induce and adverse event. Risk is the probability of an adverse event given exposure to hazard. The evaluation of scientific information on the hazardous properties of environmental agents and the extent of exposure to these agents. But operation risk analysis method is not enough for manufacturing industry even if it is existence, it will be separated to improve Safety. In this paper, I will develop the AHP Weighted operation risk analysis method to improve Safety.
A Study on the Safety Inspection System Model of The Tower Crane a Construction Site in Korea

The tower cranes are widely used in very useful construction machine the sites of constructing high-structure and have a structural sensitiveness. Therefore, the accidents have often happened due to the deficiency of laborer's understanding and lack of safety of structure. Till now, as we have research and studied above, we can properly protect accidents by construction equipments particularly crane as well as most disasters which occur frequently in construction site. The goal of this study is the safety inspection model of the tower crane a construction site, which preventible the collapse accident of tower crane which is constructed by using the correcting frame. In order to accomplish the goal of this study, the field survey, the reference investigation and the structure analysis were performed for the collapse accident of tower crane using the correcting data. This study will be proposed a build-up solutions about operating and release of safety constructions and researched about software safety estimation. Also, preventing safety problems of Tower Crane Construction site as applying safety estimation program and laws and regulations. As a result, The real time control of tower crane inspection system is implemented by to illustrate the application of the adopted optimal design model.
A Study on Reasonable Improvement of Legal Requirement for Fire Proofing for Steel Structures in a Chemical Plant

It is noted that the disaster such as fire, explosion, collapse has been rapidly increased caused by strength deterioration of steel structures at petrochemical plant during fire. In this regard, it is stressed out that the legal requirement for fire proofing for steel structures at petrochemical plant should be carefully reviewed since the current legal requirement such as Industrial Safety & Health Law, Architectural Law has a conflict and different way of approach. In addition, it is our point of view that the present law should be revised to consolidate into single law including engineering design criteria to reflect unreasonable legal requirement. It is further our point of view that the performance certificate for fire proofing like UL-1709, basis of maintenance should be appropriately and reasonably provided in line with global practice.
Analysis of Likelihood of Failure for the Stress Corrosion Cracking by Caustic Cracking through the Quantitative Risk Based-Inspection using API-581 BRD

The likelihood of failure for the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of caustic cracking, which affect to a risk of facilities, was analyzed through the risk based-inspection using API-581 BRD. We found that SCC of the caustic cracking was occurred above 5 % NaOH concentration, and the technical module subfactor (TMSF) was maximized for above 50 % concentration. The heat traced and monitoring were not sensitive to the TMSF with NaOH concentration and temperature. But the steam out was more of less affect minimum value of the TMSF. Also, the inspection number, the inspection effectiveness, and the year since inspection were very sensitive to the TMSF with NaOH concentration and temperature. Therefore, the plan of next inspection will be established with compositively considering those at once.
Determining factor about the regulation compliance of inspection on harmful machine, instrument and equipment

This study was planned to investigate what the main factor of the regulation compliance of inspection on harmful machine, instrument and equipment by industrial safety and health act is. This study subject was composed of three groups as employers, employees of manufacturing and using the harmful machine and safety inspectors. Manufacturing workplace were 236 places, using workplace were 201 places and the safety inspectors were 100 people. The study subject was sampled by stratified random sampling considering the type of harmful Machine. Data for analysis is collected from each sample using interview with structured questionnaires. Compliance is measured by 2, 3, and 4 point scale composed by 8 sub items such as general perception, understanding, clearness, necessity, relevancy, implementation, penalty, and general compliance of the regulation. The level of 8 items of employer's compliance are not differentiated among three groups. The determining factors for inspection observance of the workplace using the harmful Machine were understanding, penalty and cognized compliance. The determining factors for inspection observance of the workplace manufacturing the harmful Machine were understanding and object conformity. These results show that the strategy to adapt the regulated group to inspection regulation will be the elevation of understanding for regulation first of all.
A Study on Location Based Service System of Commercial Vehicle with RFID & Mobile Technology

Recently, RFID technology is being widely embraced in the supply chain, by manufacturers, retailers, and logistics firms. This study shows the RFID system to provide location based service for commercial vehicle by integrating tracking function of GPS with Mobile service. For this, we configured PC-based terminal for vehicle and developed application consisted of RFID and GPS manager program. In web service module which uses mobile service, commodity information acquired from each vehicle at real-time is added at database and it is analyzed in various aspects to support management decision through the Legacy system.

The development of information technology, which has brought the fusion of broadcasting and telecommunication, wire and wireless communication and voice and data, is developing new fusions like home network which is composed of IT, construction, and home appliances. This trend is considered to continue and to make other new fusions based on previous ones. In this study, we investigate the roles of RFID middleware by identifying the relationships between the new expected fusions and RFID.
A Study on Optimal Performance Evaluation Analysis of Work Manager

It calls for positive consideration of RFID technologies applying to the operation of the optimum VMI system for decreasing safety inventory. Based on the above-said considerations, the present author judges that the introduction of RFID into the consumer goods distribution industry is one of the important issues to be settled in the future. Conclusively, this study proposes that, for the sake of the operation of VMI system, the aforesaid problems should be positively examined and efficient methods promptly developed, so as to reinforce the competitiveness of enterprises.
Interpretation of Statistical Quality Techniques in the Perspective of Accuracy and Precision

Engineer and quality statistician use different terms and techniques but they have same meaning and concept. The terms accuracy and precision are frequently used by engineer and scientist in the department of R&D and production technology. This paper makes a contribution to the interpretation of statistical quality techniques by the use of accuracy and precision. Engineer and scientist who have six sigma black belt and statistical background can use efficiently and effectively accuracy and precision in a manner consistent with statistical usage according to this study.
A Study on Quality Innovation Movements of the Small & Medium-sized Company within the Framework of the cooperation with the Large-sized Company - Focused on the Single PPM Movement -

Quality management has been applied to the industry for strengthening the competitiveness regardless of the size of company. However, it has been argued that the operational models for quality management used in the large-sized enterprise could not be applied to the small & medium-sized enterprise (SME) directly. This paper analyzes the states and outcomes of movements for quality innovation in the SME and tries to give some suggestions for improving and spreading the movements within the framework of the cooperation with the large sized company. Survey results show that the preferable quality movements depends on the size of company. Especially, the Single PPM movement is most preferable in the SME. It contributes th decreasing the fraction defective and to vitalizing the communication and cooperation between large-sized company and SME.
Model Classification and Evaluation of Measurement Uncertainty

This paper is to propose model classification and evaluation of measurement uncertainty. In order to obtain type A and B uncertainty, variety of measurement mathematical models are illustrated by example. The four steps to evaluate expanded uncertainty are indicated as following; First, to get type A standard uncertainty, measurement mathematical models of single, double, multiple, design of experiment and serial autocorrelation are shown. Second, to solve type B standard uncertainty measurement mathematical models of empirical probability distributions and multivariate are presented. Third, type A and B combined uncertainty, considering sensitivity coefficient, linearity and correlation are discussed. Lastly, expanded uncertainty, considering degree of freedom for type A, B uncertainty and coverage factor are presented with uncertainty budget. SPC control chart to control expanded uncertainty is shown.

Corporation had been made by important action rule of business ethics that observes legal standard that is prescribed in each class of administration activity. But it does not keep ethicality of corporation action that conforms law. Law can not include all parts of business ethics because it is forcing essential class for public order preservation and public welfare in right. Moreover, partial corporations are doing to justify unethical action of other evasion of taxes, consultation, manufacturing etc. with legal basis meaning abusing legal standard. For these reason, Insistence that is in point of legal standard and ethical standard is not different each other that is in equal viewpoint is brought.
A Study on Efficient Work Force Supply-Demand According to the Employment Permit System for Foreigners

The employment permit system for foreigners, which stresses introduction of foreign work force in a legal manner rather than in the position of being trainees, is anticipated to efficiently improve introduction and the overall management system of foreign work force and related difficulties such as illegal alien problems, absurdity on sending laborers overseas. In this paper, a prospective model of supply and demand of work force has been developed basing on various categories of industries and patterns about nationally practical foreign employees to look over efficient supply and demand of work force suiting employment of foreigner among foreign work force policies. To propose the prospective model, we have derived industry- and pattern-related matrixes of foreign laborers basing on Inter-Industry Analysis Method put forth by Professor Leontiyef in 1930, and through the derived matrix assessed repercussions concerning overall domestic industries and foreigner types and decided yearly weight; the capacity of supply and demand of foreign laborers can be compared through proposed statistical estimation and government estimation by combining the determined weight with yearly incomes of foreign laborers. This paper has thoroughly considered the particularity of our employment permit system for foreigners and applied the Weibull distribution and incorporated the dependence of foreign laborers during the limited period of 3 years to the industry relation analysis, ultimately proposing an efficient supply and demand method about domestic foreign work force.

So many personnels under CEO are trying to change themselves to fit those kinds of management renovation methods. Now, all kinds of books for supervisors have published, but it is not easy for those supervisors to understand those books as those books do not fit for their own companies situation. The best management methods in the best companies in U.S.A. actually can not be well introduced in Korea. So, the management methods should be changed with the environment's changing. Therefore, the company management is the process to suit the continue changing environment.
A Study on Fire Hazard Analysis and Smoke Flowing for the Semiconductor Manufacturing Process

The power of semiconductor, Korea is continuously constructing semiconductor production line for keeping a front-runner status. however, studies and data about potential risks in semiconductor factory are still short. If fire does not initially suppressed, the fire causes a great damage. To decrease fire risk factors, in addition to fire fighting safety equipment, more important thing is how to design and construct fire protection system. The current fire protection codes about semiconductor factory come under functional law, and this law is short of consideration about particularity of factory. The existing prescriptive fire codes depending on experience compose without evident engineering verifications, thus equipments which is created by the current prescriptive fire code may bring about a variety of problems. For example, the design under the current regulation can not cope with the excessive investments, low efficiencies, and the diversifying construction designs and be applied to the quick changes of new technologies. Ergo, an optimal design for fire protection is to equip fire protection arrangements with condition and environment of production field. Manufacturing factory of semiconductors is a windowless airtight space. And for cleanliness, there exists strong flow of cooperation. Therefore, there is a need for fire safety design that meets the characteristic of a clean room. Accordingly, we are to derive smoke flow according to cooperation process within a clean room and construction plan of an optimal sensor system. In this study, in order to confirm the performance of proposed smoke-exhaust equipment and suggest efficient smoke exhaust device when there is a fire of 1MW of methane in the clean room of company H, we have implemented fire simulation using fluid dynamics computation.
A Study on the Selection of the Telecommunication Company Using an Analytical Hierarchy Process

This paper proposes the selection model of the telecommunication company using an analytical hierarchy process. When selecting a telecommunication company, consumers conflict the difficulty In decision-making because there are many competitive and complementary factors of telecommunication companies. To select an optimal telecommunication company, consumers need to consider a number of different quantitative and qualitative factors such as fare, various services, additional function and so on. In this study, we use the analytic hierarchy process based method for selecting the telecommunication company considering various factors to help consumers' decision-making for their benefits.
