The radiation-induced graft polymerization of methacrlic acid and methyl methacrylate onto a polyester fabric was investigated with
-ray as the radiation source, and the rate of grafting was examined. When acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and methyl methacrylate were grafted onto a polyester fabric, grafting efficiency was depened upon the dielectric constant of the solvent in the monomer mixture. The yield of the graft polymerization was related to the total dose, the concentration of the monomer, and the concentration of the swelling agent. The melting point and the glass transition temperature of MA and MMA grafted copolymers were analysed by means of DTA. Physical properties, such as the moisture regain, the antistatic property, and the wicking time were measured.

A combination of computer codes such as LATREP, HWR, AXAV and CITATION is utilized in an attempt to analyze the nuclear design characteristics of the CANDU-PHWR of the Wolsung Unit 1. The major nuclear properties to be computed are tile lattice properties of CANDU fuel channel and the core channel power distribution. The computed results are compared with the PSR documentation for the Wolsung reactor. The observed discrepancies between our computation and the PSB values are discussed in terms of incomplete information on the description of the core configuration in the PSR and the different calculation methods.

Using tracer technique of
, a field experiment has been carried out to evaluate the efficiency of zinc fertilizer by rice plant grown under flooded conditions. The treatments include zinc slufate mixed throughout the soil with and without organic matter, combined urea-zinc fertilizer (N: 37.7%, Zn: 3.1%), and surface application at transplaning and two weeks after transplanting at the rate of 5kg Zn/ha respectively. Other treatments were zinc sulfate mixed throughout the soil at the rate of 10 kg and 20 kg Zn/ha respectively. Root dipping in 2 % ZnO suspension, only organic matter added, and control were also included. There was not much difference in rough grain yield between zinc levels and different application methods, but the highest yield was obtained from the treatment of the root dipping in 2% ZnO suspension. Among the 5kg Zn/ha treatments, the highest total zinc yield was observed from the zinc mixed throughout the soil. The organic matter treatment seemed to reduce the zinc fertilizer efficiency. In case of the zinc fertilizer levels, 5kg Zn/ha mixed throughout the soil showed the highest zinc fertilizer efficiency as compared with 10kg and 20kg Zn/ha treatments.
Studies on the Quality Control of Insulin Radioimnunoassay Kit (I) -Pitfalls in Radioimmunoassay of Insulin-

A typical abnormal standard dose response curve of nearly convex form. often encountered in insulin radioimmunoassay (IRIA) has been analyzed by varying incubation conditions. The cause of such abnormality has been turned out to be the results of an incomplete equilibrium between the two reactants. By careful control of the temperature of serum sample an immediate cause of sharp deviation of B/F value of tile sample tube from the measurable range in the standard curve has also been investigated. The two main troubles have been proven to be stemed from incubation conditions. Incubation at 4
for 48 hrs is emphasized for IRIA.
