Precision Analysis of NNSS Fix for the Assumed Error of Ship`s Speed and Course

A number of studies for the improvement of the accuracy of NNSS fix were carried out previously. But most studies were done when a ship was stationary at the fixed position. To investigate the accuracy of NNSS fix affected by the error of ship's speed and course when a ship was moving, the computer simulation was performed by each satellite, passing direction of satellite, and elevation angle. The obtained results are summarized as follows: 1. When elevation angle and passing direction of satellite were constant, there were little difference in the accuracy of NNSS fix from among those. 2. The accuracy of NNSS fox caused by the error of ship's speed was in proportion to the absolute value of it without regard to the magnitude of ship's speed, and it also became different according to the ship's course. 3. When the error of ship's speed was constant, the accuracy of the fixed position became different according to the passing direction of the satellite. 4. When the ship's course was south or north, the error of NNSS fix was greater than that of east or west, and the higher the elevation angle of the satellite, the greater the error of the NNSS fix.
Study on the Improvement of Stow Net Fishing Technigue and the Enlargement of Fishing Groung to the Distant Waters 2 . Model Experiment on the Newly Designed Gear

Some distinctive defects in the conventional stow net were examined and presented in the previous report of this series. To find out the more effective gear by correcting the defects, the authors carried out another experiment by using a newly designed gear. 1. Special features of the newly designed gear are: (1) stretched width of front end on top, bottom and side panel are decreased 20%, on the other hand, the frank of the panels are increased 10% compared with the conventional gear. Front end of top and bottom panels are bias cutten up to 20% of the length of panels. (2) Length of the head rope and ground rope are shortened 6% by changing of the shape of the top and bottom panels. (3) Lacing lines are attached to four longitudinal seaming lines with suitable hanging ratio. (4) Stretched height of the shearing device were shortened 17%, and the buoyancy on top of the device were increased 20%. (5) Length of the biforked pendants were arranged to be shorter on top-most and bottom-most ones, and loner on middle ones. 2. The observed result can be expressed as (1) Wrinkles in the front end of top panels are removed and fringe line of panels become smooth. (2) Opening height of mouth is observed 3% higher than that of the conventional gear. (3) Opening width is 1.5 to 1.6 times wider than that of the conventional gear. (4) Hydrodynamic resistance is decreased 10%-17%.
A Response of the Shoal of Chub Mackerel ( Scomber Japonics , HOVTTYUN ) to Underwater Sound

A field experiment was carried out of confirm the effect of underwater sound on the luring of fish school of chub mackerel in the coast of Idousyo Island. Underwater sound that was made use of luring of fish school was pure sound and interval pure sound which the frequencies of the sound were 150Hz and 200Hz, respectively. The results of the observation of hooking and recording paper of fish finder indicate that the effect of emitting sound at 20m in the depth of water was remarkable for the luring of fish school of chub mackerel. The vertical pure sound pressure level at 150Hz and 200Hz of the water layer that was lured the fish school of chub mackerel were 140.1dB and 146.dB at 30m, 121.0dB and 126.6dB at 70m and 141.9dB and 120.5dB at 120m in the depth of water, respectively.
Robustness Recovery of Observer Based Multivariable Control Systems

An approach for robustness recovery of the observer-based control system is presented. The approach is developed by adding a loop with appropriate constant matrix to the observer-based closed-loop system. It will be shown that if there exists an added-loop matrix M satisfying F=MC for a feedback gain F and output matrix C, then the observer-based control systems have the same loop transfer functions as full-state feedback implementations, in other words, the former has the same relative stability and robustness as the latter.
Development and Applications of Impact Vibration Absorbers (1st Report , Fundamental Experiments)

This paper describes a fundamental method to suppress vibration of a structure under excitation by attaching a impact absorber. The influence of the shape of impact absorber, such as weight of add mass, impact clearance, contacting area and the exciting frequency on suppressing vibrations of the structure is investigated. The effectiveness of the proposed vibration absorber is demonstrated experimentally.
Study on the Optimal Design of Linear Control System Using Microcomputer - Design of PI Control System -

Recently microcomputers have come into wide use in the field of the control. They are used not only as monitors and as controllers in the various plant control systems but also as the Computer Aided Design of control systems. As an example of the design and the realtime control of the control system using Microcomputer, the optimal design of the control system of which the numerator of the transfer function is constant have been reported by authors. In this paper, author proposes a method to design the optimal controller about the control system of which the numerator of the transfer function is not constant, and develops the program of the response simulation.
