Formative Characteristics of Necklace in Fashion Collection

Jewelry has recognized as a part of independent formative arts of fashion with the change modern man`s cognition for the fashion. It is a great important section to express fashion image. So, many corporations design and develop the jewelry by themselves to maxmize their fashion image. Among the so many kinds of jewelry, especially the necklace is located beneath the face and linked as a part of fashion, so it frequently has showed in Fashion Collection. Like this Fashion and jewelry enact each other and share their esthetic features but, it is insufficient the study of fashion linked with the jewelry. In this study, we defined the words which is using confusedly according to jewelry forms what researched by others. In addition, we tend to study the effect of that the form, hue and character of materials of necklace that is expressed in fashion collection influence fashion image. The method of this study is comprised with precedent studies and analysis of necklace photos in fashion collection. For the analysis of data, we implement content analysis and statistical analysis using SPAW Statistics 18(frequency analysis, percentage, cross-tabulations,
-test). Because the hue and the form of necklace take a great role to make fashion image with the sense of its eyesight, its effective coordination go up the delicate feelings with the form, hue and quality of the fashion. Especially, the hue is the essential element of formative characteristics to express visual image. The necklace had coordinated more frequently in S/S than F/W, it means that more light and simple fashion let ornamental beauty could express by the necklace. So, it is very effective things that we predict the trend of fashion, then, coordinate with well-matched necklace.
Development of Culture Goods with Traditional Lady`s Art Craft Work

In the tide of globalization, culture products play pivotal role in effectively introducing our tradition and culture to the world. This research is about developing culture products using our traditional lady`s art craft work to attain the purpose of modern application through recreation of tradition along with modern technology. First, the types of traditional lady`s art craft work include pouches, wrapping clothes and other accessories made by sewing except costumes. The materials used were cotton, silk, ramie, hemp and decorating techniques involved were embroidery, patchwork, quilting, knot. Second, the purpose of this study is developing culture products with traditional images which also satisfy modern sense. Therefore, items that could be used readily in daily life were selected. Such items include bags, mufflers, name card cases, brooches. In addition, the Korean traditional Patchwork images which have both western-style and modern sense were selected out of the many kinds of traditional lady`s art craft works. Third, cultural products (bags, mufflers, name card cases, brooches) were created by DTP in silk with sacdong and free-styled division Korean traditional Patchwork images and quilting technique. The significance of this study lies in examining the possibility of developing modern culture products using traditional lady`s art craft work. A way to further develop this study would be to shed new light on traditional crafts and local cultural resources and actively carry on the study of cultural product development to provide the foundation for developing cultural products with modern applications.
The Study of Symbolic Images in Modern Fashion Design adopting the Dualistic Meanings of Uniform

This study is to analyze the symbolic images appeared in modern fashion design adopted dualistic meanings in uniforms. Uniforms signify order, conformity and discipline in public life. The dualistic meanings in uniforms appeared modern times are as follows: public authority vs individual non-authority, heterosexual identity vs homosexual identity, time-space uniformity vs mixed diversity. The symbolic images appeared in modern fashion design adopted dualistic meanings in uniforms such as military uniforms, school uniforms, nurses` uniforms, sports uniforms and etc. are erotic image, hybrid image, and kitsch image.
Clothing Values and Casual Wear Purchase Behaviors according to 20`s and 30`s Male Lifestyles

The purpose of this study was to classify the lifestyles of 20`s and 30`s male consumers, identify the differences among the lifestyle groups, and analyze clothing values and buying behaviors according to the lifestyle types. The results of the study were as follows. First, as a result of cluster analysis to classify the lifestyles of 20`s and 30`s male consumers, 4 groups were identified as "adventurous and self-accomplishing type", "positive and socially active type", "active and trend seeking type", and "practical and information-oriented type". Second, 4 factors of Utilitarian Value were classified as "symbolism", "diversity of wearing purpose", "convenience of management", and "physical activeness". Third, 4 factors of Hedonic Value were extracted as "pursuit for confidence", "pursuit for sexual sensitivity", "pursuit for trend", and "pursuit for personality". Fourth, upon analyzing the differences of clothing values based on lifestyles, 4 groups considered the most important value as the pursuit of sexual sensibility. Fifth, the male consumers in 20`s and 30`s purchased to express individuality and made their own decision on buying the casual wear. Based on these results, adventurous and self-actualizing type and active and trend seeking type were 518 of 684 and represented male consumer in 20`s and 30`s.
Response of the Adolescents to the School Uniform Regulations according to Personal Character and Clothing Needs

The response of the adolescents toward school uniform regulations according to personal character and clothing needs was studied. To carry out this experiment, questionnaires were administered to 514 students in middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The collected data were analyzed with Factor analysis(Varimax rotation), Cronbach`s
, Frequencies Statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS WIN 15.0. By surveying on actual condition of uniform regulation in school, it was found that the existing uniform regulation was unnecessarily strict and caused stress leading a negative educational effect. Based on the relationship among the degree of regulation, stress, and student attitude toward school uniform regulation, stress and negative attitude to uniform regulation increased as the degree of regulation increased, resulting in an decrease in observance behavior of students. Since the stress from the school uniform regulation can be reduced by establishing rational law, which induced voluntary conduct of student to obey, it is important for student to participate in establishment of adoptable and reasonable school uniform regulation law.
The Effects of Internet Fashion Consumer`s Impulse Buying Tendency on Positive and Negative Purchasing Behaviors

This study analyzed the effects of internet fashion consumer`s impulse buying tendency on positive and negative purchasing behaviors. A survey was conducted from October 1 to December 15 in 2010, and 407 responses from internet fashion consumers who made impulse purchases on the internet at least once for the last 6 months were used in the data analysis. As a result, the impulse buying tendency of internet fashion consumers was classified into pure impulse buying, reminder impulse buying, suggestion impulse buying, and stimulus impulse buying. The positive purchasing behaviors such as repurchase intention and purchase satisfaction were influenced by the impulse buying tendency. The all factors of impulse buying tendency had an effect on repurchase intention, while purchase satisfaction was influenced by the reminder impulse buying, suggestion impulse buying, and stimulus impulse buying. The negative purchasing behaviors were classified into delay in decision making and switching intention of purchase. The delay in decision making was influenced by the stimulus impulse buying, suggestion impulse buying, and reminder impulse buying. Also, the reminder impulse buying, suggestion impulse buying and pure impulse buying had an effect on switching intention of purchase. In addition, there were significant differences in the impulse buying tendency and delay in decision making between male and female internet fashion consumers.
A Study on the Variables Influencing Female College Students` Body Shame and Appearance Change Intention: Comparison of Korea, China and Germany

This study aims to make a comparison between variables influencing female college students` body shame and appearance change intention in individualist culture(Germany) and collectivist culture(Korea, China), that which variable among individual`s physical character(BMI), psychological character(public self-image), and sociocultural pressure has the biggest influence in each culture. The findings of the research are as follows. 1. The German group of female college students had the highest BMI, and there were no difference between Korean and Chinese group. Public self-consciousness, sociocultural pressure, ideal appearance attitude, body shame, and appearance change intention were highest in Korea and lowest in Germany. 2. The variables that affected body shame were powerful in the order of sociocultural pressure, appearance internalization, BMI, and appearance awareness in the Korean group of female college students. In the Chinese group, the order was sociocultural pressure, appearance internalization, and public self-consciousness. On the contrary, in the German group the order was appearance internalization, appearance awareness, sociocultural pressure, and public self-consciousness. 3. The variables that affected appearance change intention were powerful in the order of sociocultural pressure, body shame, and appearance awareness in the Korean group of female college students. In the Chinese group, the order was sociocultural pressure, body shame, and appearance awareness, and in the German group, the order was appearance internalization, body shame, and BMI.
The Effect of Customer Satisfaction and Customer Orientation on Service Delivery Level

Employees of sales departments of apparel makers play an important role in the success of a fashion-related business because they provide service through the direct contact with customers. This research tests several hypothesized relationships between its determinants, such as job satisfaction and customer orientation, along with service delivery level. The subjects in this study were salespeople who worked at fashion stores in Yeosu and Sunchon. To measure the hypotheses, 200 questionnaires were handed out and 185 were collected. 163 questionnaires were used for the analysis, as 22 were found to be invalid. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression techniques were used after coding and cleaning the data with the software SPSS 18.0. The result of this study are as follow. First, job satisfaction have a positive influence on employee`s customer orientation. Second, job satisfaction have an effect on procedural and hospitable service delivery level. Third, it was found that the customer orientation have a significant impact on their procedural and hospitable service delivery level.
Evaluations and Attitudes of Workers in Low Temperature Storages of Discount Stores Toward their Uniforms

The purpose of this study was to examine the evaluations and attitudes of workers in low temperature storages of discount stores toward their uniforms by carrying out a field study and a survey. The effects of evaluation attributes on their attitudes were also investigated. In this study, the reference of the evaluation of uniforms was based on the concepts of serviceability, which implies the fitness for purpose of products and consists of durability, care, comfort and aesthetic appearance. Of 400 questionnaires, 253 of them were used for data analysis. The data were analyzed by descriptives, t-test, factor analysis, reliability test and regression analysis with SPSS 12.0. As a result, it showed that workers have set low values on easy care, physiological comfort, aesthetic appearance and durability among the evaluation attributes. In attitudes toward the uniforms, emotional attitude was negative whereas behavioral attitude positive. It appeared that the evaluation attributes had influence on the attitude toward the uniforms and esthetic appearance among the attributes had the biggest effects on the workers` attitude. In conclusion, it was found that the discount store uniforms should be improved in the aspects of easy care and physiological comfort, and focused on the esthetic appearance for workers` positive attitudes to their uniforms.
The Effect of Interface Characteristics of Mobile Commerce on the Extended Technology Acceptance Intention of the Fashion Consumer

The purpose of this study is to find out the important factors and efficient strategies concerning fashion mobile marketing. This study contributes to the effect on shopping behavior of m-commerce consumer applying technology acceptance model(TAM) in the mobile fashion merchandise shopping environment. The areas of study interest are mobile commerce interface characteristics, flow, perceived usefulness, ease of use, attitude, purchase intention. To fulfill the study objectives, a total of 406 questionnaires were conducted to the customers with first-hand experience with merchandise in mobile commerce. The judgement sampling method was employed on sample population ages from 20s to 30s over two month period. Based on the results of the above-mentioned path analysis, The result showed that different factors affect acceptance intention of the fashion M-commerce. The result which extended TAM relationship, excepted affects in perceived ease of use by navigation and Flow, perceived usefulness by perceived ease of use and purchase intention by perceived ease of use considers from all relationships the effect put out. On this wise, mobile commerce interface characteristics needs provider of basic contents to fashion mobile commerce technology acceptance and suggested the ability which diffuses a fashion mobile transactions.
A Qualitative Study on Design Copying of Fashion Industry

Copying of designs has been condoned in the fashion industry. However, the industry argues that whether fashion design should be protected by law and what constitute design copying in fashion. This study has been performed by in-dept interviews with employees in the fashion industry. The study finds that respondents perceived copying of design to be some extent beneficial to the industry. While, they also observed that it has a negative effect on the industry due to indiscriminate copying. In regards to standard of drawing the line between copying and inspiration or modification, designers have subjective and discrepant standards. Fashion industry itself, consumer`s biased preference, inefficient education and lack of legislation are significantly engaged in design copying.
The Effect of Duty Free Shop Consumers` Store Benefits Sought and Fashion Merchandise Shopping Orientation on Store Satisfaction

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of duty free shop consumers` store benefits sought and fashion merchandise shopping orientation on store satisfaction. Survey data were collected from questionnaires filled out by 194 domestic consumers who had purchase experience of fashion goods in duty free shops located in Korea. The data were analyzed by reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, the store benefits sought was categorized into five factors such as pursuit of convenience, salesperson/atmosphere, promotion, product quality, and product fashionability/variety. The fashion merchandise shopping orientation was categorized into six factors such as pleasure orientation, pursuit of fashion, pursuit of brand, planned orientation, pursuit of confidence, and convenience orientation. The store satisfaction was categorized into six factors such as atmosphere/reputation of store, promotion, product fashionability/variety, convenience, price, and salesperson. Second, the store benefits sought, composed of pursuit of convenience, salesperson/atmosphere, promotion, product quality, and product fashionability/variety, had an effect on the store satisfaction. Third, the shopping orientation such as pleasure orientation, pursuit of fashion, pursuit of brand, and planned orientation, with the exception of pursuit of confidence and convenience orientation, had an effect on the store satisfaction.
A Study on the Actual Wearing Conditions of Korean Military Tank Driver`s Clothing

The purpose of this study was to investigate problems of design, fitness, suitability for movement, and comfort in current Korean military tank driver`s clothing through analysis of actual wearing condition by questionnaire and field evaluation and. to provide basic data for developing a improved design of Korean military tank driver`s clothing. The survey was done for 477 military tank driver and the field evaluation was also done for evaluation. The overall satisfaction for design of military tank driver`s clothing(3.25) was higher than that for the easiness in wearing and taking off(2.76). The military tank drivers evaluated that current coverall type of clothing is more suitable than two-piece type of clothing. The overall satisfaction for fitness of clothing was as a whole low(2.82~3.09), Especially, the satisfaction for fitness of from front and back rise length was the lowest one. In the satisfaction for clothing materials, the satisfaction for the breathability of material was the lowest, followed by clothing insulation and air permeability. The satisfaction for movement was low in bending waist and raising forward and aside. The part which surveyors think most dissatisfactory was also front and back rise length. The frequency in use of pocket was the highest in chest pocket, followed by waist and pants pockets. The satisfaction for opening easiness of hips opening part was very low(2.64).
Development of a Representative Model for Different Body Shapes of 18-24 Aged Women - An Application of a 3D Morphing Technique -

The purpose of this study is to classify body types into different groups based on 3D scanned data, and identify the representative body shapes that most frequently appear in the groups. A high frequency range was defined based on body measurement data, and representative shapes were identified based on body scan data of women aged 18-24. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, the three typical types of height, bust and drop mixes among Korean women aged 18-24 are as follows:) 155-88-N,) 160-82-A, and 165-85-A. Regarding the body type, the A and N types frequently appeared, while the H type was rare. Second, among the subjects of the high-frequency groups, upright bodies were selected as sample models and were used for morphing. An adjustment was made to the morphing results to reflect the body characteristics of the sample models evenly. Third, to verify the morphing results, the body sizes of the sample models and the created models were compared. The result showed that, the sizes were close to the average size of the sample models. Fourth, to verify whether the morphing processes adequately reflected the features of the body shapes, cross-section models of key body parts were made and the degree of representativeness was determined.
Torso Pattern Design for Korean Middle-Aged Women using 3D Human Body Scan Data

The purpose of this study is to provide Torso pattern for Korean middle-aged women using 3D human body scan data. 155 women in their 40`s or 50`s were measured by Martin`s anthropometry. Merging the data of 914 middle aged women provided by Korean agency for technology and standards, total of 1,069 subjects` data were analyzed. For data analysis, ANOVA, factor analysis and cluster analysis were done using SPSS PC+. And representative subject of each cluster was selected and they participated in 3D scanning and Torso pattern suggested for middle-aged women Torso pattern which investing the amount of ease according to each group for diffuse front interscye 30%, armscye circumference 30%, back interscye 40% using 3D human body scan data. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, as a result of the factor analysis, the first factor was `obesity index of body`, The second factor was `verticality size of body`, The third factor was `verticality length of upper bodice`, The fourth factor was `drop value to represent silhouette`, and the fifth factor was `physique of upper bodice`. And, middle-aged women type were classified 3 types according to the cluster analysis. Type 1(Y-type) was the long upper Torso with wide shoulder. Type 2(H-type) was flat-body type with comparatively thin upper bodice and thin lower bodice. And type 3(A-type) was the obese type with comparatively thin upper bodice and fat lower bodice. Secondly, using CAD program, point filtering was performed and approximated surface model was made. It used that generated surface smoothing corrected for abnormally extruded points and scattered points based on the curvature information. And 3D surfaces were flatted onto the plane by the internal tools of CAD program. Difference ratios of outline length and area between 3D curves and 2D plane were 0.42% and 0.54%, respectively. Third, wearing test by the sensory evaluation showed that distinct difference almost every category. The movement functionality test shows that, in all the tests which reveal significant differences, especially, `comparison pattern A` experienced inconvenience to neck width and neck depth.
The Development of Torso ＆ Sleeve Basic Pattern for Wedding Dress

The purpose of this study is to develop a wedding dress basic torso pattern and sleeve pattern considering good fit and aesthetic for figures of Korean brides in their 20s. For the research method, 3 women in their 20s who has the body size of
S.D range of average figure and dress form suggested by `the 5th human body measurement` of Size Korea were selected as the test group. The evaluators are 8 clothing construction majors, and the evaluation items included total 22 questions related to torso and total 10 questions related to sleeves. The evaluation was made using 5 Likert point scale. 4 prototypes for basic dress pattern were selected through the literature search. After compare analyzing design methods of prototypes, the real wedding dresses were made in the average size of women in their 20s and the dresses were tried on for the assessment. The data was analyzed using SPSS 18.0 Program to examine average, standard deviation and significant differences between basic patterns. Based on the results of the first and the second try-on assessments, a new wedding dress basic pattern with maximized strengths of compared prototypes was completed. The details of result follows. As for dress torso basic pattern, A pattern, which had the highest overall silhouette satisfaction and scores in basic pattern analysis and try-on assessments, was selected as the prototype, and a research basic pattern reflecting strengths of each basic pattern was developed. As for dress sleeve basic pattern, B pattern, which had the highest overall silhouette satisfaction and scores in basic pattern analysis and try-on assessments, was selected as the prototype, and a research basic pattern reflecting strengths of each basic pattern was developed. In this study, a wedding dress basic pattern considering good fit and aesthetic for figures of Korean brides in their 20s was suggested. It is expected that the basic pattern will be used by continuously developing dress market and ready-made wedding dress manufacturers as well as in educational institutes.
A Study on the Pattern Development for Forest Fire Safety Clothing

The purpose of this study is to develop the pattern of safety clothes used at flat or mountainous areas and to identify the pattern of safety clothes by conducting experimental evaluation of virtual wear. Three subjects were selected, based on fire fighters` physical constitution. A prototype design for safety clothing was determined after in-depth interviewing of professionals and surveying of Forest service staff and related agency. Wearing test should be carried out in the order of pattern making, virtual and real wearing evaluation. For data analysis, technical statistical values should be obtained by using body measurements of subject, frequency analysis and T-test. The jacket is designed to have a front extension and the entire length of clothing enough for wearer to put on it over ordinary shirts or sweater. The collar of jacket is of round type. Cyber reality enables to identify the movement and activity of virtual fitting model and to find out errors or problems in safety clothing prior to on-the-spot wear test, thus raising the precision level of pattern. There was significant difference between real and virtual fit preference. The results show that the virtual try-on system need the development of a specific style.
Physiological Responses of Quick Absorbing/Drying T-shirts Designed with Sweating and Skin Temperature Distribution

This study was investigated to evaluate the physiological responses on T-shirts manufactured with selected functional materials by body parts which were selectioned on the distribution of sweating and temperature change. Seven healthy men in twenties were participated in a climate chamber of
. Three kinds of T-shirts named `D1`, `D2` and `Poly` were used as experimental clothings. Four kinds of functional materials of quick absorbing/drying were used in all section in `D1`, but two kinds of functional materials used partially in `D2`. `Poly` T-shirts used only polyester. In an experimental schedule of 90 minutes, which were consisted of `Rest`, twice of `Exercise` and twice of `Recovery` periods, the subjects walked on a treadmill with 60% of
. As a physiological responses, the microclimate temperature, surface temperature(skin, clothing) and sweat rate were measured. Temperature regulation was kept well in `D1` rather than other T-shirts. The quick absorbing/drying T-shirts showed its performance well as the exercise goes on the second half. With these results in mind, `D1` will be more effective for long hours exercise such as climbing rather than short hours exercise.
