Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 391~400
This purpose of this study is to announce the research for the formative characteristics and the constructive characteristics for the 23 pair of pants excavated from the tomb of Yeosan Song's family at Mokdal Dong in Daejeon. Men and women wore the open-type over the close-type pants. Song Hyo-sang and Chungjoo Park wore the 1 or 2 pairs of the open-type pants over the 3 pairs of close-type pants. Song Hee-jong and his wife Sonhung An wore a pair of the open-style pants over the 1 or 2 pairs of pants. It was due to the shortage of goods by the war that Song Heejong had less shrouds than Song Hyosang. The pants were almost made of the cotton and the silk. The open-type pants worn inside was made of the cotton but outside was made of the silk. That time the cotton was used for the unlined underwears for the health and the protection against the cold and the hot. The silk was used for the outwear. In the construction type, 12 pairs of pants were unlined, 6 pairs of pants were quilted, 4 pairs of pants were padded, and 1 pair of pants was lined. All unlined were the close-type and the quilted and padded pants were the open-type, which were worn inside. Lined type was just one. In the wearing order of shrouds, type, textile, and constructive type, Song Hyosang and Chungjo Park were similar, Song Heejong and Sonhung An were similar.
An Analysis of Environmentally Conscious Consumers' Features and Their Awareness of Green Fashion Products - Focusing on female residents of Seoul(Comparison between 1999 and 2007) -
Lee, Jong-Sook ; Yang, Lee-Na ; Choi, Na-Young ;
Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 401~408
The study aims to examine consumer awareness of green fashion products and demographic characteristics by subdividing environmentally conscious consumers of such products in the current domestic fashion market. It then compares the result with the characteristics of environmentally conscious consumers studied by 1999 in order to understand the trend of the consumer group in the fashion market and to promote the use of green fashion products. Marketing strategies for green fashion products suggested by the study are as follows: First, fashion firms are required to develop and publicize shops selling recycled or second-hand clothing that environmentally conscious consumers show constant interest. For instance, clothing patterns may be developed to enable consumers to make their kids' clothing easily at home, and various garments made from recycled materials may stimulate environmentally conscious consumers' desire to buy. Particularly, advanced technologies should be developed and publicized to manufacture garments that can excel existing ones made of normal materials in their features in order to satisfy consumers' interest in clothing made from recycled PET bottles. In addition, various natural dyes should be developed to decrease water pollution. Second, it seems imperative to develop clothing made of recycled knitted apparel that attracts consumers' interest more than ever, fashionable multi-purpose clothing, and environmentally friendly materials. As the use of natural fur or leather can cause the endangerment of wild animals and the destruction of the ecosystem, synthetic fur or leather may be used to develop sophisticated products with the same texture as real ones to attract environmentally conscious consumers' interest.

Lee, Ok-Hee ; Kim, Ji-Soo ;
Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 409~417
The goal of this study was to investigate the impacts of customer satisfaction, store image, and switching barrier on store loyalty of the clothes shops at a large-scale discount store. The subjects were 357 female adults living in Suncheon City, Jeollanam Province. The questionnaires were conveniently sampled from June 1 to 30, 2006. The collected data were factor and reliability analyzed using the SPS program. And LISREL was used to test and evaluate the relationships between the constructs through confirmatory factor analysis and covariance structure analysis. Among the six hypotheses set in the research model, total four were selected through empirical analysis and the rest two were rejected. The analysis results were useful in making a conceptual model that could keep the simplicity about store loyalty and had increased explanatory power. Thus it turned out the deciding factors of store loyalty for the clothes shop at a discount store were customer satisfaction and switching barrier rather than store image. Customer satisfaction had the biggest influences on store loyalty among the expected variables. Considering the direct impacts of switching barrier on store loyalty, it's important to work on switching barrier along with customer satisfaction in order to maintain the customers' store loyalty. The efforts to identify the various factors of store loyalty in addition to switching barrier, customer satisfaction, and store image will lead to such marketing strategies as can vitalize the clothes shops at a large discount store.

Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 418~424
The purpose of this study is to propose a standard of converting 3D shape of men in twenties to 2D patterns. This can be a basis for scientific and automatic pattern making for high quality custom clothes. Firstly, representative 3D body shape of men was modeled. Then the 3D model was divided into 3 shells, front, side and back. Among them, the front shell was divided into 4 blocks by bust line and princess line. Secondly, curves are generated on each block according to matrix combination by grid method. Then triangles were developed into 2D pieces by reflecting the 3D curve length. The grid was arranged to maintain outer curve length. Next, the area of developed pieces and block were calculated and difference ratio between the block area and the developed pieces' area is calculated. Also, area difference ratio by the number of triangles is calculated. The difference ratio was represented as graphs and optimal section is selected by the shape of graphs. The optimal matrix was set considering connection with other blocks. Curves of torso upper front shell were regenerated by the optimal matrix and developed into pieces. We validated it's suitability by comparing difference ratio between the block area and the developed pieces' area of optimal section. The results showed that there was no significant difference between block area and the pieces' area developed by optimal matrix. The optimal matrix for 2D developing could be characterized as two types according to block's shape characteristics, one is affected by triangle number, the other is affected by number of raws more than columns. Through this study, both the 2D pattern developing from 3D body shape and 3D modeling from 2D pattern is possible, so it's standardization also possible.

The Effect of Awareness of DM in Beauty art on Satisfaction and Intention of Word-of-Mouth - On Women in Their Twenties to Forties -
Park, Eun-Jun ; Kim, Sung-Nam ;
Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 431~440
The study of the awareness on DM, the degree of satisfaction, and intention of word-of-mouth has found that when the confidence factor is stressed, intention of word-of-mouth is seen to rise, and when the perception factor is placed emphasis on, intention of word-of-mouth is also seen to be on the rise. The 790 questionnaires collected were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, confidence degree, and regression analysis. This means that the higher the degree of satisfaction by means of the recognition, attention, trust of DM advertisement, the relationship reenforcement of DM advertisement and transmission of information is, the higher intention of word-of-mouth is. Beauty art business is characteristic of visits being connected with sales. The awareness has an effect on the degree satisfaction, and it affects intention of word-of-mouth. Therefore, it is thought that Beauty art business requires systematic, analytic and unique DM advertisement.

Bai, Sang-Kyoung ;
Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 441~444
For the purpose of application to new natural dyestuff, the dyeability of Purple onion shell extract was analyzed. It was dyed in cotton fabric according to various dye weight, dyeing temperature, dyeing time. And the effects of mordanting conditions were examined as color differences and color fastnesses. The dyeaffinities were increased as were increased dye weight, especially 100% owf. The optimum dyeing condition of Purple onion shell extract was 40minutes at
. The dyeaffinity was increased at pre-mordanted condition, and color difference was increased distinctly at post mordanted condition. The hue of all mordanted cotton fabrics changed into Yellow where as non mordanted cotton fabric was Red. The color fastnesses of mordanted cotton fabrics were generally not so god, but light fastness was improved in post-Cu mordanted fabric.
The Physical Properties and Warmth retaining of Bedspread Jacquard Fabrics Using Filling Batt Yarn
Park, Myung-Soo ;
Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 445~449
The results of warmth retaining, heat transfer and compressive elastic recovery of the five kinds of bedspread fabrics, which were produced from packing weft of 2700 denier and 3600 denier batt yarn treated with raw material of Polyester
/48 DTY, are as follows: 1) 3600 denier packing weft showed lover count in compressive elastic recovery than 2700d packing weft, so it took longer time to recover. 2) When packing weft of the same count is used, a sample of packing weft with higher density showed lower recovery. 3) It took 2700d packing weft 30min to get approximately 98% recovery in temperature
. But, 3600d packing weft stayed under 98% recovery in the same temperature. Considering only the result of compressive elastic recovery, we should use 2700d packing weft. 4) The higher the density of packing weft is, the higher warmth retaining becomes. Although sharp increase appeared until 5min, equilibrium was kept without any increase after that time. 5) When 2700d packing weft was used, the maximum warmth retaining was approximately 60% and 64% in the conditions of density 12(thread/in) and 22(thread/in) respectively.

Yoo, Young-June ;
Fashion & Textile Research Journal, volume 9, issue 4, 2007, Pages 450~454
The purpose of this study was to offer objective information about standard of selecting and training fashion models by verifying anthropometric characteristics and comparing with general women. Total forty eight fashion models (M=20.08yr ; SD=1.7) were recruited by convenience sampling. Thirty eight items of participants were measured by manual of International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometric (ISAK). Mean and standard deviation of 38 items and also factor of somatotype (endomorph, mesomorph, ectomorph) were calculated. In the result, somatotype of fashion model was endomorphic ectomorphy, less muscle and taller height. Conclusionally, this study indicated that there is less mesomorphy rating related to muscle quantity, bone mass in somatoplot. However, it is necessary to provide the program enhancing the physical activity with model department.
