Synthesis of Chemosensor Based on Pyrene and Study for Its Sensing Properties Toward Fluoride Ion

In this study, pyrene based chemosensor was synthesized by two step reaction. The chemosensor showed that high selectivity toward fluoride in DMSO. The fluorescence intensity was drastically increased by binding between chemosensor and fluoride ion. Absorption and fluorescence spectra were obtained by UV-Vis spectrometer and fluorescence spectrophotometer. The binding ratio between chemosensor and fluoride ion was also investigated by job's plot method and Benesi-Hildebrand plot. The HOMO/LUMO energy levels and electron distribution were calculated and simulated by Material studio 6.0 Package.
Electrochemical Study on Energy Potential Levels with Pyrene Molecule

Pyrene based molecule has been synthesized through the reaction of pyrene-1-carboxaldehyde and 4- phenylthiosemicarbazide in this research. The pyrene based molecule showed specific optical properties such as absorption and emission changes after mixing with fluoride in DMSO. The phenomenon is induced by the interaction of the molecule and fluoride. This interaction may affect to electron distributions and potential energy levels. In this regard, synthesized pyrene based molecule has been investigated for its electron distributions and HOMO/LUMO energy levels depending on interaction with fluoride. The absorption measurement, cyclicvoltammograms and computational method were investigated to calculate and compare energy potential levels.
Synthesis of a Super Hydrophobic Violet Dye for Pure Polyolefin(PP/UHMWPE) Fibers

A new monoazo violet dye optimized for polyolefin fibers such as polypropylene and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibers was synthesized and its dyeability was investigated. Two hexyl groups were introduced to coupler, 2,5-dimethoxyaniline, in order to increase hydrophobicity of the dye. The maximum absorption wavelength was appeared at 580nm, which meant that the dye showed violet color. From the dyeing results at various conditions, the optimum dyeing was determined as
for 1 hour with 5% owf of dyes. The good fastness ratings to washing, rubbing were obtained showing at least 4 for both fibers. Light fastness was acceptable for polypropylene fibers giving ratings 3~4. However, relatively poor light fastness was obtained in case of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibers showing ratings 2.
Improvement of Photo-stability for p-Aramid Fibers by SiO

Aramid fibers are being used increasingly in a wide range of application due to low density, high specific strength, high modulus, and high thermal resistance. But owing to its special physical and chemical structures, it is sensitive to absorb the ultraviolet light which will degrade the fiber's useful mechanical properties and structure. In this paper, the sol-gel technique was used to improve the photo-stability of p-aramid fibers.
sol were used as coating solutions. The influence of the such coatings on the photo-stability of p-aramid fiber was investigated by an accelerated photo-ageing method using xenon lamp. The photo-stability of p-aramid fiber showed obvious improvement after the modified silica binding coating. But the amorphous
sol coatings showed a negative effect. After 144h light exposure, the modified silane binder-coated fibers showed less degradation in mechanical properties with the retained tensile strength greater than about 70% of the original value.
Dyeing Properties and Functionality of Hot-water Extract from Juniperus chinensis Heartwood

The purpose of this study is to investigate dyeing properties and functionality of cotton and silk fabrics dyed with hot-water extract from Juniperus chinensis heartwood. Water-soluble dye of Juniperus chinensis heartwood extracted with distilled water was expressed YR color series. Dye uptake of cotton continued to increase according to the increase of the dye concentration. Its variation trends were shown to be similar to the isothermal absorption curve of the Freundlich. Dye uptake of silk was better than cotton, increased depending on increasing concentration of the dye, dyeing time and temperature. Its variation trends were shown to be similar to the isothermal absorption curve of the Langmuir. As the pH increased, the dye uptake of fabrics reduced and showed increased on red tinge. Colors of the dyed fabrics were various, depending on dye concentration and the mordant type and mordant concentration. Washing fastness, light fastness and perspiration fastness were not good. However, rubbing and dry cleaning fastness showed relatively good grade. Dyed fabrics of ultraviolet-cut ability and deodorant ability were improved. And dyed fabrics showed antimicrobial abilities of 99.9% against Staphylococcus aureus.
Dyeing Properties and Functionality of Methanol Extract from Juniperus chinensis Heartwood

In this study, we report dyeing properties and functionality of cotton and silk fabrics dyed with methanol extract from Juniperus chinensis heartwood. Non-aqueous dye of Juniperus chinensis heartwood extracted with methanol was expressed reddish color. It showed relatively good affinity to silk than cotton. Dye uptake of cotton and silk continued to increase according to the increase of the dye concentration. Cotton was not affected by the dyeing temperature and time, however, dye uptake of silk was increased as the dyeing time and temperature were increased. Dye uptake of cotton and silk were the highest at pH 8 and pH 6 respectively. Dyed fabrics showed various colors depending on mordant types and mordant concentration. Washing, light and perspiration fastness were not good. However, rubbing and dry cleaning fastness showed relatively good grade. Dyed fabrics of ultraviolet-cut ability and deodorant ability were improved. Also, dyed fabrics showed very good antimicrobial abilities of 99.9%.
Effect of Heat Treatment on the Physical Properties of LM PET Jacquard Fabrics

There has been an increasing demand for high performance and energy-saving of blind. In order to develop the eco-friendly blind textiles, heat treatment process has been utilized for LM(Low Melting) polyester fabrics and the changes of the physical properties of the treated fabrics were examined according to temperature of heat treatment. Morphology, surface reflectance, contact angle, luster, thermal property and mechanical property of heat treated LM polyester fabrics were investigated. As results, morphology analysis of thermal treated fabrics confirmed that degree of fusion of LM polyester yarns improved with increase of temperature. Surface reflectance of thermal treated fabrics decreased with increase of temperature. Luster and contact angle of a water droplet on thermal treated fabrics increased slightly with increase of temperature. The mechanical properties of the fabrics by KES-FB system were found to be temperature-dependent and especially, bending and shear properties among them were highly related to temperature.
Improving the Fading of Reusable Surgical Gown by Repeated Severe Laundering and Sterilization Condition

The purpose of this study is to minimize fading fabrics of surgical gown by repeated severe laundering and sterilization condition. The study showed that the best conditions were reduction cleaning using sulphinic acid derivatives or glucose organic chemicals at
alkaline solutions. In these conditions, color difference values(dE) were below 1.0 that means unrecognizable color change by repeated laundering and sterilization. If it treated with only laundering, reduction cleaning conditions may adjust over
alkaline solution. In conclusion, it is needed to select the high-washing fastness dye and reduction cleaning using sulphinic acid derivatives or glucose organic chemicals at
alkaline solutions for removal unfixed dyes.
The Mechanical Properties of Fluffy Spun-like Yarn by ATY Textured (1)

This research has a main focus on providing fundamental data for on-the-spot industrial fields by comparing and contrasting physical properties of fluffy spun-like material. The fluffy spun-like yarn is developed as fluffy yarn similar to natural spun-like yarn by treating polyester(FDY and + type shaped DTY) with ATY machine. In this experiment, using ATY machine for raw material texturing, we produced two fluffy yarns: (i) + type shaped(50d/36f, DTY) as core yarn and 100d/192f FDY as effect yarn[ATY(D)], (ii) FDY(75/36) as core yarn and 100d/192f FDY [ATY(F)] as effect yarn. After producing thous yarns, we twisted them with 500T/M, 700T/M, 1000T/M, respectively. produced yarns through this process were used as the samples for this experiment. Even though the shrinkage of fluffy yarn ATY(F) and ATY(D) becomes high as treated temperature rises and treated time lengthens, it is more affected by treated temperature then by treated time. In this experiment, produced fluffy yarn[ATY(D)] shows a little high values for temperature, but almost same values for higher temperatures. When we compare ATY(F) with ATY(D) fluffy yarn shows more natural fluffy yarn surface structure like natural cotton. The shrinkage of 700T/M twisted ATY(D) fluffy yarn show about 11% under treated temperature
and treated time 30min, and about 7% under
and 30min, respectively. But the shrinkage of 1000T/M fluffy yarn shoes about 9% and 6% under same conditions. Regarding treated time, tenacity and initial modulus of ATY(D) fluffy yarn rise high until 30min, but do not show much increase above 30min. Functional Finishing of Nonwoven Filter for Dust-proof/Medical Masks by Corona Discharging Treatment

In this study, 25gsm melt-blown polypropylene nonwoven for dust-proof/medical masks was finished by the corona discharging treatment. The influence of corona discharging parameters on the filtration efficiency was investigated. Several parameters such as discharging voltage, discharging speed, distance to discharging wire and configuration of discharging system had an effect on filtration efficiency, while the parameters had no effect on breathing resistance. Optimum corona discharging conditions are as follows: Wires were installed on the upper part of the nonwoven and paper pipe was installed on the lower part of the nonwoven having a distance of 5cm. The sequence of wire voltages was +60 kV, +60 kV, 0, -60 kV, and -60 kV. The discharging voltage and speed were 60 kV and 30m/min respectively. The nonwoven treated by corona discharging at the optimum condition showed a filtration efficiency of 80% or more, which is suitable for dust-proof/medical masks.
