Pipeline Structured-Degree Computationless Modified Euclidean Algorithm for RS(23,17) Decoder

In this paper, A pipeline structured-degree computationless modified Euclidean (PS-DCME) algorithm is proposed, which can be used for a RS(23,17) decoder for MB-OFDM system. PS-DCME algorithm requires a state machine instead of the degree computation and comparison circuits, so that the hardware complexity of the decoder can be reduced and high-speed decoder can be implemented. We have implemented a RS(23,17) decoder with PS-DCME using Verilog HDL and synthesized with Samsung 65nm library. From synthesis results, it can operate at clock frequency of 250MHz, and gate count is 19,827.
A New Criterion of Information Theoretic Optimization and Application to Blind Channel Equalization

Blind equalization techniques have been used in multipoint communication on which the research on the internet has focused. In this paper, a criterion of minimizing Euclidian Distance between two PDFs for adaptive blind equalizers has been presented. In order for ED expressed with Parzen PDFs to be minimized, we propose to use a set of randomly generated desired symbols at the receiver so that the PDF of the generated symbols matches that of the transmitted symbols. From the simulation results, the proposed method has shown superior error performance even in severe channel environments in which CMA has shown severe performance degradation. This indicates that the proposed algorithm can be considered relatively insensitive to ESR variations compared to CMA. As a field of ITL, ED minimization using Parzen PDFs has shown possibilities of being successfully applied to blind equalization.
Active Network Management System with Automatic Generation of Network Management Program using Triggers

Network management involves configuring and operating various network elements in a suitable manner. Generally, a network management system can perform basic functionalities such as configuration management, performance management, and fault management. Due to the open structure of the Internet, the volume of network traffic and the network equipment used have increased in size and complexity. Therefore, it is expensive and time consuming to develop a network management program for heterogeneous network equipment in an SNMP.based network. In order to facilitate the management of network environments and the control of heterogeneous devices in an efficient manner, we propose an Active Network Management System (ANMS) comprising an automatic generator that uses triggers to generate a network management program. The concept of triggers can be represented through event condition action rules performed in response to a change in the status of a network environment. The proposed ANMS comprises basic components for real time network management and also includes an automatic generator (AG). When the ANMS is monitoring network elements that are newly added or changed, a trigger rule is activated and these components are then able to collaborate and automatically generate a new network management program by using the information provided along with the SNMP libraries. Our method is useful for expanding the network structure and replacing network equipment. Through experiments, we have proved that our ANMS is useful when new network objects are added or changed in the network environment to expand the network structure. Further, we have verified that our ANMS system reduces the time and cost required to develop a network management program as compared to the manual method used in existing network management systems.
A Scheme of Avoiding Occupied Channel in Overlapped Wireless LANs

Signals transmitted from access point (AP) or stations in different wireless LANs (WLAN) interfere each other when the WLANs are closely installed. When they are configured to use the same channel, signals from an WLAN get collided with signals from other WLANs so that the delay increases to user stations and the throughput decreases. In this paper, we propose a method in which an AP in a basic service set (BSS) detects other BSSs using the same channel and switches to a different channel not being occupied by any other BSS. We can avoid using the same channel with other BSS in spacially overlapped BSS environment. The proposed scheme is simulated and its characteristics are described with the analysis of the result. The results measured in terms of throughput show that the problems in overlapped wireless LANs can be resolved with the proposed method.
WSN Data Dissemination Protocol by N-hop Access Guarantee Backbone

Flooding and SPIN, which are well-known WSN(Wireless Sensor Network) proactive protocols, spontaneously disseminate the sensed data without a request from an arbitrary sink node. However, these methods disseminate the data even to some nodes that do not need it, which is energy inefficient. In this paper, we introduce a semi-proactive protocol to disseminate only to pertinent nodes instead of all nodes in order to overcome this weakness. Thus some nodes, such as arbitrary sink nodes that need the sensed data, could easily obtain the data within some hops. The simulation result shows that the proposed protocol has higher average node energy efficiency than that of well-known earlier work, SPIN. If a proactive protocol, such as SPIN, is changed to semi-proactive and has only a 1-hop burden, then the energy efficiency enhancement is up to about 83% compared with SPIN.
Throughput analysis of packet applied to the transmission probability for CSMA/CA protocol in wireless LAN

This paper analyzes the throughput of DCF protocol at the MAC layer in the 802.11a wireless LAN. The throughput of DCF protocol is related on probability of backoff, depends on retransmission of each terminal. This paper applied to nonmarcov discrete model for each terminal BER in the base station versus the packet throughput is progressing with the data rate of 6,12,24,54 Mbps, We find the fact that the less the data rate be the higher the throughput. We also find from the throughput calculation by means of traffic intensity in OFDM wireless LAN.
An Empirical Study on the Effect of Technical and Social Anonymity on the Self-control Behavior

There have been many previous studies about an effect of anonymity on self control behavior. However the previous studies are on the aspect of results such as the usefulness, the problems of cyber crime or a lack of trust by anonymity. This study identifies the accurate definition of the objective technical anonymity and subjective social anonymity. And it reveals the relationship among technical anonymity, social anonymity, community tie, and self control as an effect of anonymity. The result of survey shows that technical anonymity affects self control through social anonymity and the relationship between technical and social anonymity is affected by community tie. This study presents how the anonymity affects individual behaviors. So it can be used as a reference to the policy on anonymity of the internet.
A Robust Sequential Preprocessing Scheme for Efficient Lossless Image Compression

In this paper, we propose a robust preprocessing scheme for entropy coding in gray-level image. The issue of this paper is to reduce additional information needed when bit stream is transmitted. The proposed scheme uses the preprocessing method of co-occurrence count about gray-levels in neighboring pixels. That is, gray-levels are substituted by their ranked numbers without additional information. From the results of computer simulation, it is verified that the proposed scheme could be reduced the compression bit rate by up to 44.1%, 37.5% comparing to the entropy coding and conventional preprocessing scheme respectively. So our scheme can be successfully applied to the application areas that require of losslessness and data compaction.
A Design of Advertisement Contents System Considering Preference of the User

The advertisement system on TV is categorized into full duplex TV and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV). For the full duplex TV or the IPTV, channel providers need a number of advertisements and pay enormous expenses for them. Therefore, this study proposes how to reduce unnecessary expenses based on users' preferences. The advertisement system based on users' preferences is designed to decrease unnecessary advertisements with less expense. To identify preferences in usual advertisements and animation advertisements is to reduce expenses due to the necessity of a number of advertisements. The proposed system was designed to provide full duplex advertisements for profits of advertisement industry and considered users' disposition based on preferences of broadcasting advertisements, through which users can have advertisement desired and providers can expect less advertisement expenses and more profits.
Artificial Engine Development through Reinforcement Learning on Jul-Gonu Game

Game program manufacture had been classed by 3D or on-line game etc. simply. But, atomized game programmer's kind now. So, Artificial Intelligence game programmer's role is important. This paper used reinforcement learning algorithm for Jul_Gonu board characters to learn, and so they can move intelligently. To compare a learned character to an random one, a board game was created, and then they fought against each other. As a result, learned character‘s ability was far more improved.
Intelligent Multi-Agent Distributed Platform based on Dynamic Object Group Management using Fk-means

Multi-agent systems are mostly used to integrate the intelligent and distributed approaches to various systems for effective sharing of resources and dynamic system reconfigurations. Object replication is usually used to implement fault tolerance and solve the problem of unexpected failures to the system. This paper presents the intelligent multi-agent distributed platform based on the dynamic object group management and proposes an object search technique based on the proposed filtered k-means (Fk-means). We propose Fk-means for the search mechanism to find alternative objects in the event of object failures and transparently reconnect client to the object. The filtering range of Fk-means value is set only to include relevant objects within the group to perform the search method efficiently. The simulation result shows that the proposed mechanism provides fast and accurate search for the distributed object groups.
A Multimedia Recommender System Using User Playback Time

In this paper, we propose a multimedia recommender system using user's playback time. Proposed system collects multimedia content which is requested by user and its user‘s playback time, as web log data. The system predicts playback time.based preference level and related contents from collected transaction database by fuzzy association rule mining. Proposed method has a merit which sorts recommendation list according to preference without user’s custom preference data, and prevents a false preference. As an experimental result, we confirm that proposed system discovers useful rules and applies them to recommender system from a transaction which doesn‘t include custom preferences.
Design and Implementation of Channel Server Model for Large-scale Channel Integration

The CRM(Customer Relationship Management) is a business strategy model which can reap higher profits and can provide a competitive edge to an enterprise in today's new business environments. Early next year (2009), the Capital Market Consolidation Act will be in effect in South Korea. This is required for a qualitative growth to provide QoS (Quality of Service) and ensure growth in finance, IT industry & service. Accordingly, the securities and insurance companies, banks and other financial institutions make efforts to improve their derivative financial product and also enhance their services. In this paper we design and implement a Channel Server model for a Scalable Service Channel Server to efficiently manage the high volumes of inbound customer interactions based on the requirements of a CRM center. The proposed Scalable Service Channel Server supports integration with other third party service and standardization of multiple inbound service channels. The proposed model can be efficiently used in an inbound CRM center of any banking, finance, securities and insurance establishments.
A Study on the Structural Equation Model for Students' Satisfaction in the Blended Leaning Environment

The purpose of this study was to explore factors that affected the satisfaction of students' experiences in an education course, with the educational method and educational technology designed with a blended learning strategy. Blended learning is currently recognized as a good solution for the problems posed by both online and face-to-face learning, because it has features like flexibility and accessibility by using tools supporting both individualization and socialization. This study is one case that illustrates how blended learning can be applied at the university level. Subjects were 56 students who had participated in the class and responded to the survey questions. The gathered data were analyzed by using Factor Analysis and the Structural Equation Model. Based on the results of Factor Analysis, data revealed 5 factors: learning motivation, previous experience, ability to use information & technology, capability of self-regulated learning, and learning satisfaction. The results of the Structural Equation Model revealed causal relationships among the aforementioned factors as follows: (a) there was a statistically meaningful causal relationship between "learning motivation" and "capability of self-regulated learning", (b) there was a statistically meaningful casual relationship between "previous experience" and "capability of self-regulated learning", and (c) "capability of self-regulated learning" directly affected "learning satisfaction".

No other change in Kora has offered gredter chalenges and opportunities than the emergence of the Internet and its related Information Technology. In the technology for accessing the ever growing wave of information. The quality of the silver generation is increasingly difficult to achieve because of the complexities of life in today's ICT(Information & Comunication Technology) dependent society, Life is more interesting when one knows what is going on, what opportunities exist, and when alternatives to current practices can be discovered and utilized with ease. The purpose of this study is to identify the determinants of attitude and planned behavior toward using internent for the quality of life. This study employ the intention to use internet, perceived ease of use, perceived usefuiness, self-efficacy, stress factor, generation gap, and income as major research variables, and collected 288 survey responses from senior citizen over 55. The results indicate that the perceived usefuiness and ease of use influence the intention to use internet, and that the self-efficacy, the ease of use and generation gap has some impact on the attitude, but the stree factor and the income level do not appear significant to the attitude. It was also found that the self-efficacy and the income level determine the level of ease of use. In addition, some useful suggestions concerning the continuing education program for silver generations are presented
Efficient Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks

Locations of positioned nodes as well as gathered data from nodes are very important because generally multiple nodes are deployed randomly and data are gathered in wireless sensor network. Since the nodes composing wireless sensor network are low cost and low performance devices, it is very difficult to add specially designed devices for positioning into the nodes. Therefore in wireless sensor network, technology positioning nodes precisely using low cost is very important and valuable. This research proposes Cooperative Positioning System, which raises accuracy of location positioning and also can find positions on multiple sensors within limited times. And this research verifies this technology is excellent in terms of performance, accuracy, and scalability through simulation.
UML-based Quality Requirement Specifications and Design Traceability

Less efforts has been made in developing specifications and verification techniques for quality requirements. This paper suggests specification and traceability methods supporting quality issues such as usability, performance, and understandability when developing information systems with UML notation. With traceability checking methods that augment quality extension to the use cases and sequence diagrams, developers can confirm the level of implementation for both functional and nonfunctional requirements beforehand.
