Performance Analysis of Maximum Zero-Error Probability Algorithm for Blind Equalization in Impulsive Noise Channels

This paper presentsthe performance study of blind equalizer algorithms for impulsive-noise environments based on Gaussian kernel and constant modulus error(CME). Constant modulus algorithm(CMA) based on CME and mean squared error(MSE) criterion fails in impulsive noise environment. Correntropy blind method recently introduced for impulsive-noise resistance has shown in PAM system not very satisfying results. It is revealed in theoretical and simulation analysis that the maximization of zero-error probability based on CME(MZEP-CME) originally proposed for Gaussian noise environments produces superior performance in impulsive noise channels as well. Gaussian kernel of MZEP-CME has a strong effect of becoming insensitive to the large differences between the power of impulse-infected outputs and the constant modulus value.
A VoD Load Balancing Algorithm Based on User's Behaviors

During the last decade, Internet protocol television(IPTV), broadcasting of multimedia services using well understood Internet technologies, is a fast spreading technology for distributing multimedia content to consumers. As IPTV services advance, an increasing user demand and tremendous content volume of multimedia content cause some difficulties in network resource management. In this paper, we propose an improved load balancing algorithm for video-on-demand(VoD) service. Unlike existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm considers user's behaviors for VoD service, and determines the most efficient allocation of VoD requests by estimating expected server load and expected user waiting time.
Complex-Channel Blind Equalization Using Cross-Correntropy

The criterionmaximizing cross-correntropy (MCC) of two different random variables has yielded superior performance comparing to mean squared error criterion. In this paper we present a complex-valued blind equalizer algorithm for QAM and complex channel environments based on cross-correntropy criterion which uses, as two variables, equalizer output PDF and Parzen PDF estimate of a self-generated symbol set. Simulation results show significantly enhanced performance of symbol-point concentration with no phase rotation in complex-channel communication.
Geometric Distortion Compensation of Projector Image based on Equation of Straight Line

In this paper, we propose a method that can compensate the geometric distortions of image caused from an arbitrary nonflat display surface(or wall) under the environment of portable overhead projector without a flat screen. In the proposed method, we first project a grid pattern to an arbitrary nonflat display surface and then derive an equation of straight line that represents the geometry relationship between the distorted grid pattern and the original grid pattern. Next, after determining the proper size of the original grid pattern according to the form of the display surface, we generate a compensation pattern from the derived equation of straight line, which can symmetrically compensate for the distorted image. Finally, we compensate for the geometric distortions of the projected image by segmenting the real image to be projected from portable overhead projector and prewarping it according to the compensation pattern. To evaluate the proposed method, we performed experiments of image compensation on inclined surface, bent surface and curved surface that are frequently occurred in the environment of portable overhead projector without a flat screen. From the experimental results, we found that the proposed method could be very effective in compensating for the general types of the geometric distortions of the projected images.
Analyzing Government Policy Frameworks for Promoting Adoption and Diffusion of IPTV Services

This study analyzes appropriate government policy frameworks for promoting IPTV industry by studying the way of adoption and diffusion of IPTV services. Until recently, most researches on government policies for technology adoption have focused on the personal context. This research adopts two theories, i.e., innovation characteristics theory for personal context and implementation process theory for organizational context. It also hypothesizes that the innovation characteristics more influence on the behavioral intention for usage new media in the level of personal innovativeness is high. Moreover, in the level of expectancy for diffusion policy is high, the implementation of IPTV services more influences on the behavioral intention. The results by statistical analysis, it is found that the higher the level of personal innovativeness is, and the higher the level of expectancy for diffusion policy is, the more behavioral intention will be influenced by the characteristics of innovation and implementation of IPTV service. Thus it is important for government agencies to find the way to facilitate personal innovativeness as well as expectancy for diffusion policy.
A Implementation of Oriental Medicine U-Healthcare Service Model Using CDSS

The Ubiquitous Healthcare business are growing recently by medical service development. According to this environment, many healthcare service model have been studying and suggested. At the same time, medical world market has been reorganized into a traditional medical science out of the west medical science. But in spite of this trend, domestic U-Healthcare market in traditional medical science is for lack of profit service model. So it is true that the presentation is demanded from oriental medicine U-Healthcare service model these days in oriental field. Thus, in this paper we propose the healthcare service model that can be applied to the oriental field efficiently. Our method is based on fuzzy rule method that analyze the patient data by CDSS processing. In experiment, proposed method is more profitable and efficient than west service model. For future works, we will research about the standardization and security of processed data.
Stimulus Tester : Educational Learning Improvement System for IPTV Education and Entertainment Contents

The purpose of this research is to help IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) commercialization using newly produced educational contents in the area of entertainment and education which currently popular in the market. It is called, Stimulus
, endow reaction time from the feedback of learning system, using a non-direct method, for example, a remote controller. Reaction time is the learning efficiency promotion mechanism that learner ascertain the learning condition of oneself by the time with solved questions from the solving the question in given time. Reaction time also play a key role that the learner may go through course which distribute the point to PC from Server. If this system is ready, we expect that the educational industry will gradually spread out. To verify the learning efficiency of this system, we concluded that the learning improvements, by an Internet-based and a paper-based test, of the increase by 51%, from 2.47min to 1.27min, during reaction of 7 days.
A Study on the Standardized Teaching-Learning Model for the Education of the Information Ethics in the Interdisciplinary Curricula

The purpose of the study is to suggest a standardized teaching-learning model as a method for strengthening the practical effect of the information ethic education for the adolescent, which is practiced in schools as the inter-disciplinary way. A survey was put to teachers and their needs are analyzed. At the same time, in order to draw the practical teaching-learning model, the teaching examples were collected for contesting. Through this process, a bottom-up approach which tries to analyze the actual class examples and generalizes them, the teaching-learning model has been suggested. As a result, another survey was conducted for the investigation of the efficacy of the model between beneficiary group and comparison group. The results are as followings; the experiment group showed a higher index in regard with such items as Information Culture Index, Lesson Satisfaction Degree, and Practice Will than Comparison Group, and the differences are statistically significant. According to the results of the analysis.
Online Collaborative Learning according to Learning Task Types

As the computer and the communication technology are an unity, the collaborative learning based on constructivism is emphasized more than learning by forming external representation. Especially, online has characteristics not only to facilitate collaborative activities but to make students collaborators. In online collaborative learning, learning task is an integrated element in course design and an important portion deciding learning design, learning environment and learning process. Thus this study explored collaborative learning model according to the learning task type.
Game Based Cooperative Negotiation among Cloud Providers in a Dynamic Collaborative Cloud Services Platform

In recent years, dynamic collaboration (DC) among cloud providers (CPs) is becoming an inevitable approach for the widely use of cloud computing and to realize the greatest value of it. In our previous paper, we proposed a combinatorial auction (CA) based cloud market model called CACM that enables a DC platform among different CPs. The CACM model allows any CP to dynamically collaborate with suitable partner CPs to form a group before joining an auction and thus addresses the issue of conflicts minimization that may occur when negotiating among providers. But how to determine optimal group bidding prices, how to obtain the stability condition of the group and how to distribute the winning prices/profits among the group members in the CACM model have not been studied thoroughly. In this paper, we propose to formulate the above problems of cooperative negotiation in the CACM model as a bankruptcy game which is a special type of N-person cooperative game. The stability of the group is analyzed by using the concept of the core and the amount of allocationsto each member of the group is obtained by using Shapley value. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the behaviors of the proposed approaches.
Robustness Analysis and Improvement on Transformed-key Asymmetric Watermarking System

In this paper, we analyze the robustness of transformed-key asymmetric watermarking system and show its improvement by proposing a new detection method. Based on the assumption that the transformed-key asymmetric watermarking system is under the threat of subtraction attack, we first propose the criterion for the detection performance of the watermarking system and analyze the optimum condition on the system. Next, a new detection method is proposed to improve the detection performance of the system based on the criterion. The proposed improvement makes the system robust to not only subtraction attack but also Wu's attack.
