A Robust Spectrum Sensing Method Based on Localization in Cognitive Radios

The spectrum sensing is one of the fundamental functions to realize the cognitive radios. One of problems in the spectrum sensing is that the performance of spectrum sensing can be degraded due to fading and shadowing. In order to overcome the problem, cooperative spectrum sensing method is proposed, which uses a distributed detection model and can increase sensing performance. However, the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing can be still affected by the interference factors such as obstacle and malicious user. Especially, most of cooperative spectrum sensing methods only considered the stationary primary user. In the ubiquitous environment, however the mobile primary users should be considered. In order to overcome the aforementioned problem, in this paper we propose a robust spectrum detection method based on localization where we estimate the location of the mobile primary user, and then based on the location and transmission range of primary user we detect interference users if there are, and then the local sensing reporting from detected interference users are excluded in the decision fusion process. Through simulation, it is shown that the sensing performance of the proposed scheme is more accurate than that of conventional other schemes
Design and Implementation of the Interoperability method for the Remote OSGi services

In ubiquitous computing environment, OSGi has applied to many areas such as digital mobile phones, vehicles, telematics, embedded appliances, residential gateways, industrial computers, desktop PCs, and high-end servers including mainframes. Therefore, interoperability is required for remote OSGi services which are built on various devices. In this paper, we proposed a method which was able to interoperate remote OSGi services using RMI paradigm. RMI is a representative middleware technology in distributed computing environment. The suggested method is based on the standard OSGi technology. It is possible to provide remote OSGi service registration, finding, and binding methods which were suitable for the OSGi service-oriented architecture. We also provided reliability of the dynamic remote OSGi services by maintaining consistent properties of them, and we could provide location transparency of the remote OSGi services by generating proxy bundles and proxy services dynamically.
Multiple Access Scheme Using Modified Hermite Polynomial Pulse and Ternary code for Out-Body WBAN

In this paper, we propose a multiple access scheme using MHP(Modified Hermite Polynomial) pulse and ternary code for high-data and low-data rate for Out-body WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network). To satisfy the requirement of WBAN system, UWB-IR has been considered as a promising candidate for Out-body WBAN. The proposed multiple access scheme, using orthogonal MHP pulse and ternary code sets, reduces multi-user interference and distinguishes user signal from multi-user signals. We propose two algorithms for synchronous and asynchronous WBAN system. The symbol is constructed by MHP pulses and time hopping duration to reduce multi-user interference in the synchronous WBAN system. The symbol also is constructed by ternary code to avoid collision between pulse trains in the asynchronous WBAN system. The results of the proposed multiple access scheme show a clear improvement of BER.
Analyzing Korean Media Industry Trends and Competitive Strategies by Introducing Comprehensive Programming Channels

Recently, a new media reform bill has passed through the National Assembly in Korea. The introduction of comprehensive programming channels that combine news and entertainment programs is expected to have a direct and indirect effect on the media related industry. And it affects not only existing traditional media operators, but also companies that consider entering the comprehensive programming business. This study analyzes the changes caused by the emergence of new businesses and identifies competitive strategies. Using Scenario Network Mapping (SNM) that is a scenario planning methodology for developing an industry network map in a complex environment. As a result of this study, the following competitive factors were identified: new business competitiveness, government policy and support, and content differentiation. This study has significance as an initial study on comprehensive programming channels strategies. It also provides implications to the government and the entrepreneur who is considering starting a comprehensive programming business.
A Policy-driven RFID Data Management Event Definition Language

In this paper, we propose a policy-driven RFID data management event definition language, which is possibly applicable as a partial standard for SSI (Software System Infrastructure) Part 4 (Application Interface, 24791-4) defined by ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 31/WG 4 (RFID for Item Management). The SSI's RFID application interface part is originally defined for providing a unified interface of the RFID middleware functionality―data management, device management, device interface and security functions. However, the current specifications are too circumstantial to be understood by the application developers who used to lack the professional and technological backgrounds of the RFID middleware functionality. As an impeccable solution, we use the concept of event-constraint policy that is not only representing semantic contents of RFID domains but also providing transparencies with higher level abstractions to RFID applications, and that is able to provide a means of specifying event-constraints for filtering a huge number of raw data caught from the associated RF readers. Conclusively, we try to embody the proposed concept by newly defining an XML-based RFID event policy definition language, which is abbreviated to rXPDL. Additionally, we expect that the specification of rXPDL proposed in the paper becomes a technological basis for the domestic as well as the international standards that are able to be extensively applied to RFID and ubiquitous sensor networks.
A Study on the Operating Status of National University Financial and Accounting System

According to action of 'National University Finance And Accounting Act' enactment, national universities plan to introduce a new university accounting system reflecting the accrual basis and bookkeeping by double entry. For stable execution of the system, it is necessary to construct a national university financial and accounting system to be treated in a lump according to a new university accounting system. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to survey operating status of the existing national university financial and accounting system to prepare for that 'National University Financial And Accounting Act' would pass National Assembly, to draw its problems and to suggest a plan to construct national university financial and accounting system on the basis of the above. It is expected that the proposals suggested by the results of the study will give the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and national universities a help in raising transparency of university finance and be utilized as basic data to construct national university financial and accounting system offering quick management information. to action 'National University Finance And Accounting Act' enactment, national universities plan to introduce a new university accounting system reflecting the accrual basis and accrual basis and bookkeeping by double entry.
Deriving Strategic Priorities of Green ICT Policy using AHP and ANP

Recently, the world faces a global environmental crisis by the increase of energy consumption and global warming. Since the crisis directly affects political, economic, social, and environmental areas, many countries prepare Green ICT policy to overcome it. However, although Green IT policy provides many benefits by solving environmental pollution and increasing energy efficiency, Korean government did not prepare measures by the policy. The purpose of this study is to suggest priorities of political goals for maximizing the efficiency after introducing Green ICT policy in Korea. Major variables are drawn for the analysis, and they are eco-friendliness, technology evolution, economic efficiency, energy efficiency, and stable supply of energy. The variables are suggested based on 'Low Carbon, Green Growth Act', then the survey was conducted to policy expert using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and ANP(Analytic Network Process) for prioritizing variables. As a result of the AHP, it is derived in the order of eco-friendliness, technology evolution, economic efficiency, energy efficiency, and stable supply of energy. The ANP result shows in the order of technology evolution, energy efficiency, economic efficiency, eco-friendliness, and stable supply of energy. The research is conducted to analyze the priorities of goals for Green IT policy, and the analysis results are possible to use as a practical guideline for establishing associated policies in the future.
Designing mobile personal assistant agent based on users' experience and their position information

Mobile environments rapidly changing and digital convergence widely employed, mobile devices including smart phones have been playing a critical role that changes users' lifestyle in the areas of entertainments, businesses and information services. The various services using mobile devices are developing to meet the personal needs of users in the mobile environments. Especially, an LBS (Location-Based Service) is combined with other services and contents such as augmented reality, mobile SNS (Social Network Service), games, and searching, which can provide convenient and useful services to mobile users. In this paper, we design and implement the prototype of mobile personal assistant (PA) agents. Our personal assistant agent helps users do some tasks by hiding the complexity of difficult tasks, performing tasks on behalf of the users, and reflecting the preferences of users. To identify user's preferences and provide personalized services, clustering and classification algorithms of data mining are applied. The clusters of the log data using clustering algorithms are made by measuring the dissimilarity between two objects based on usage patterns. The classification algorithms produce user profiles within each cluster, which make it possible for PA agents to provide users with personalized services and contents. In the experiment, we measured the classification accuracy of user model clustered using clustering algorithms. It turned out that the classification accuracy using our method was increased by 17.42%, compared with that using other clustering algorithms.
The Comparison of Indicators for Selecting Familiar Labels of Information Items in Web Pages

While sharing information through Internet by Web page or XML, familiar labels of information items will reduce the confusion among users. The advises of the language experts for choosing familiar terms may cost money and time, but an automated Indicator can help a user select right terms without any cost. This paper collects Indicators that can be easily found over Internet and compares the efficiency of them for selecting familiar terms. The collected indicators are the number of words in a term, the frequency used in a related Web sites, and the number of search results in portal sites. The results conclude that the found terms by the frequency matches 76% for women's and 71% for men's, which tells that the frequency can be a reference for selecting familiar terms.
Effect of Layout and Complexity of Class Diagram on Model Comprehension

As a de facto standard for system modeling, UML diagrams have been widely used in the industry. Of these, the class diagram is useful to visualize the classes and their relationships and thus directly influences the forward and reverse processes of system modeling and development. Many earlier studies have attempted to examine as to what impact the layout and complexity of the class diagram would have on the comprehension of system modeling. However, their findings have been equivocal and it is not easy to understand the effects of diagram layout. Accordingly this research relied on the guidelines of diagram layout suggested in the earlier studies and designed a 2 (layout) x 2 (complexity) factorial design to examine their impact on diagram comprehension. 47 subjects were participated in the experiment where class diagrams were provided differently in their layout and complexity. We found that a good layout was significantly more effective than the bad. Furthermore the results were significantly persistent in the complex group than the simple. However, there was no interaction effect between layout and complexity of the diagram.
Development and Evaluation of the Web-based Evidence-based Practice Guideline for the Operation Patients

The purpose of this research is to evaluate patient's satisfaction and clinician' knowledge level about pain, nausea, vomiting, and temperature management of patients after operation by develop an web-based evidence-based practice guideline about pain, nausea, vomiting, and temperature control after operation in order to apply the guideline operation patients. The collected data was analyzed through real number, average, standard deviation, t-test and repeated ANOVA by using SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. The study subjects showed a significant difference in the level of knowledge about pain, nausea/vomiting, and temperature control after operation and patient's satisfaction, before and after applying the web-based evidence-based practice guideline.
