A Kullback-Leiber Divergence-based Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio Systems

In the paper, an information divergence called Kullback-Leiber divergence, which measures the average of the logarithmic difference between two probability density functions, is utilized to derive a novel method for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio systems. In the proposed sensing method, we test whether the observed samples are drawn from the noise distribution by using Kullback-Leiber divergence. It is shown by numerical results that under the same conditions, the proposed Kullback-Leiber divergence-based spectrum sensing always outperforms the energy detection based spectrum sensing significantly, especially in low SNR regime and in fading circumstance.
Saturated Performance Analysis of IEEE 802.11 DCF with Imperfect Channel Sensing

In this paper, performance of IEEE 802.11 carrier-sense multiple access with collision-avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocols in saturated traffic conditions is presented taking into account the impact of imperfect channel sensing. The imperfect channel sensing includes both missed-detection and false alarm and their impact on the performance of IEEE 802.11 is analyzed and expressed as a closed form. To include the imperfect channel sensing at the physical layer, we modified the state transition probabilities of well-known two state Markov process model. Simulation results closely match the theoretical expressions confirming the effectiveness of the proposed model. Based on both theoretical and simulated results, the probability of detection is concluded as a dominant factor for the performance of IEEE 802.11.
Performance Analysis of Proxy-AAA Authentication Scheme in PMIPv6 Networks with Forwarding Mode Supporting

Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is a host-based protocol supporting global mobility while Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is a network-based protocol supporting localized mobility. This paper makes its focus on how to reduce the longer delay and extra cost arising from the combination of authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) and PMIPv6 further. Firstly, a novel authentication scheme (Proxy-AAA) is proposed, which supports fast handover mode and forwarding mode between different local mobility anchors (LMAs). Secondly, a cost analysis model is established based on Proxy-AAA. From the theoretical analysis, it could be noted that the cost is affected by average arrival rate and residence time.
A study on the effective regulation of user discrimination : focusing on the offering of promotional gifts and exemption of charges

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of regulation of promotional gifts and exemption of charges by analyzing the judgement criterion of illegality and the corrective action taken by regulatory agencies and suggests effective way of regulation. The results show that recently the differences of price-cut is getting bigger. In addition, Fair Trade Commission has considered discounts as unfair predatory price only if price is below the cost. But in the telecommunication business law enacted by Korea Communications Commission, 'expected profits per subscriber' has been applied as a key criterion. KCC's criterion is based not on the expected profit of individual service provider but on the averaged profit of services providers. It doesn't consider differences of service quality and the cost structure between dominant firm and late comers. Prohibition act of user discrimination result in the increase of subscriber and operating profits of late comers but this is not direct purpose of regulation. It can be desirable in the aspect of fair competition but since it may reduce consumer welfare, the criterion needs to be reconsidered.
A Design of Integrated Scientific Workflow Execution Environment for A Computational Scientific Application

Numerous scientists who are engaged in compute-intensive researches require more computing facilities than before, while the computing resource and techniques are increasingly becoming more advanced. For this reason, many works for e-Science environment have been actively invested and established around the world, but still the scientists look for an intuitive experimental environment, which is guaranteed the improved environmental facilities without additional configurations or installations. In this paper, we present an integrated scientific workflow execution environment for Scientific applications supporting workflow design with high performance computing infrastructure and accessibility for web browser. This portal supports automated consecutive execution of computation jobs in order of the form defined by workflow design tool and execution service concerning characteristics of each job to batch over distributed grid resources. Workflow editor of the portal presents a high-level frontend and easy-to-use interface with monitoring service, which shows the status of workflow execution in real time so that user can check the intermediate data during experiments. Therefore, the scientists can take advantages of the environment to improve the productivity of study based on HTC.
A Performance Evaluation Framework for e-Clinical Data Management

Electronic data management is getting important to reduce overall cost and run-time of clinical data management with the enhancement of data quality. It also critically needs to meet regulated guidelines for the overall quality and safety of electronic clinical trials. The purpose of this paper is to develop the performance evaluation framework in electronic clinical data management. Four key metrics in the area of infrastructure, intellectual preparation, study implementation and study completion covering major aspects of clinical trial processes are proposed. The performance measures evaluate the extent of regulation compliance, data quality, cost and efficiency of electronic data management process. They also provide measurement indicators for each evaluation items. Based on the key metrics, the performance evaluation framework is developed in three major areas involved in clinical data management - clinical site, monitoring and data coordinating center. As of the initial attempt how to evaluate the extent of electronic data management in clinical trials by Delphi survey, further empirical studies are planned and recommended.
Mobile Interactive Broadcasting Learning Solution Study on Development of Education

Recently, Development of high-speed internet networks can be a real-time video conference system. SD-quality still images using the software codec system exists, and two-way system with mobile systems, but in most video only send and receive video system. In this study, HD web-cam using the two-way live broadcasts simultaneously in the education system and the mobile system has developed an audible system. In the study using the H.264 standard video compression techniques were applied to high-bandwidth compression technology, smart phones, to develop a streaming server for broadcasting were applied. Video sharing, document, web-sharing was made possible in real time. In addition, the private IP for WiFi zone, available anytime, anywhere that can be converted to a public IP technology, IP tunneling technology applied.
Collaboration Framework based on Social Semantic Web for Cloud Systems

Cloud services are used for improving business. Moreover, customer relationship management(CRM) approaches use social networking as tools to enhance services to customers. However, most cloud systems do not support the semantic structures, and because of this, vital information from social network sites is still hard to process and use for business strategy. This paper proposes a collaboration framework based on social semantic web for cloud system. The proposed framework consists of components to support social semantic web to provide an efficient collaboration system for cloud consumers and service providers. The knowledge acquisition module extracts rules from data gathered by social agents and these rules are used for collaboration and business strategy. This paper showed the implementations of processing of social network site data in the proposed semantic model and pattern extraction which was used for the virtual grouping of cloud service providers for efficient collaboration.
A Policy-driven RFID Device Management Model

Previous RFID systems exclusively manage the tags and readers for each company in individual manner. Thus, RFID system manager should understand and design specifications such as tag events, data format, and etc, based on individual companies. But it is very difficult to know all statements. To resolve theses problems, there has been conceptual research about policy-based RFID service management model that is not restrained from standards of typical RFID systems, including EPCglobal standard, and ISO/IEC standard. However, previous proposed service management model only aimed event management without including device management. Therefore, in this paper, we propose extended device management policy model for giving shape to the proposed policy-based RFID service management model. If the proposing device management policy model is used for device management, we can integrate control management for heterogeneous middleware, diverse RFID devices, and applications for each company. Moreover, we show that the RFID device management policy is translated and processed as an example using the proposing policy model in real-time RFID system.
Conformity Assessment and Test Method for Implementation of Web Services Compositions based on Choreography

Recently Web services and SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) is widely used for an effective integration way of distributed applications. The service choreography is a way of service compositions to define workflows and the message exchange protocols among several partner ser-vices in the B2B business process environment. It defines the overall business process from a global perspective. However, it must be transformed into some kind of the executable form to implement service compositions, because it does not support an execution mechanism but is a de-clarative form. Therefore, the transformed executable model must be validated with the original choreography model to guarantee behavior equivalence. In this paper, we propose the conformity assessment with respect to service compositions method between the choreography model and the transformed executable model. And we suggest the test method to show behavior equivalence between them from a viewpoint of the dynamic execution.
Developing a Reactive System Model from a Scenario-Based Specification Model

It is an important and a difficult task to analyze external inputs and interactions between objects for designing and modeling a reactive system consisting of multiple object. Also the reactive system is required huge efforts on confirm it can satisfy requirements under all possible circumstances. In this paper, we build from requirements to a scenario-based specification model using LSC(Live Sequence Chart) extending MSC(Message Sequence Chart) with richer syntax and semantic. Then the reactive system model satisfying all requirements for each object in this system can be automatically created through LTL Synthesis. Finally, we propose a method of reactive system development by iterative process transforming a reactive system model to codes.
A Design of the Ontology for Enhanced Semantic Retrieval of Multimedia Contents

In recent Information Environment, various Multimedia contents are getting noticed. But, since these contents have various formats of representation and very wide range of information, it was difficult to retrieve contents that user wanted and to utilize it. To solve these problems, many studies presented draft standards for adding metadata to contents, and then, semantic search for contents had become available. Unfortunately, as the number of metadata standards and contents increased, the lack of interoperability between contents was begun and users are faced with difficulty of search contents again. To improve these problems, this paper supports interoperability between metadata standards and expands the semantic relationship between elements and proposes an ontology which is named TOFIC(The Ontology For Imagery Contents) for enhanced semantic search. In TOFIC, the semantic relationships between MPEG-7 and TV-Anytime are classified, and extended new semantics are defined. As a result, semantic search for multimedia contents is enhanced and it is possible to retrieve most of the multimedia contents that exist on the current information environment consistently. In addition, it supports enhanced content-based search for multimedia contents.
A Study on Service Enhancement using Information Demand Analysis of Green Technologies

Recently, the trend of open innovation and web 2.0 change the information portal services. The importance of using information demand analysis is emphasized in planning service strategy. The issues of the study are how we can figure out the demand and how we can use it in enhancing service level. This study aims at presenting the result of green technology information users' interests and the service enhancement directions. For the information types, additive functions, open innovation needs, the relation between users' organization, main job title, and the involved technological area are analysed. Among them, the involved technological area of the user is correlated to the needs, so we illustrate the meaning of planning service strategy according to the technological fields. The main contribution of the study can be the customized service strategy proposal using the users' demand which can be different from one technology field to another.
Development of Social Network Game Engine based on ActionScript

As the social networking service (SNS), Facebook, and Cyworld, is developing, the social network game and social business commerce based on this service is activated. Especially, the Social Network Game (SNG) is getting explosive interests and it becomes popular, because it is small scale and user can enjoy the game among close friends. The market for this game is getting larger every year, but still it has some limitations in developing the game. Especially, the current game engine is aiming for developing online or console game, and there is no exclusive game engine for developing SNG. Therefore, it takes lots of time for developing SNG with this game engine. In this paper, we described a design and development of the game engine optimized for developing SNG, which not only adapts the main characteristics of the previous game engine, but also considers the specific characteristics of the SNG. The engine also supports map for the simulation game that is the most popular game in SNG, and also provides modules and tools for developing character animation easily. The evaluation standard for the performance of the game engine is the output generation speed of image, text and character. And the results showed reasonable output speed for developing the SNG in generation of image, text, and character.
Design of ECG Measurement System based on the Android

As the recent advanced in BIO signal measurement technology, our computing platform is rapidly shifting from desktop PCs to Embedded System. Therefore, In this paper introduces an implementation of the same precision as a hospitan ECG system on the Android. The most important fact of the hospital system is connectivity among the PC such as separate means of communication, we can eliminate the separate means of communication through the Porting Embedded System on Android that can be receive ECG signal directly. We also implementation ECG App on Android that can analyze and show the data result directly.
