Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 13~22
This paper aims to develop a system for converting web contents to mobile contents that can be used on mobile devices. Since web contents generally consist of pop-up ad windows, a bunch of unnecessary images and useless links, it is difficult to efficiently display them on common mobile devices that have lower bandwidth and memory, as well as much smaller screen, than the online environment. It is also troublesome for mobile device users to directly access contents. Thus, there has been a great demand for a new method for extracting useful and adequate contents from web documents, and optimizing them for use on mobile phones, In the paper, a system based on WAP 2,0 and XHTML Basic, which is a content creation language adopted for WAP 2,0, has been suggested. The system is designed to convert web contents by using the conversion rules of the existing filtering method after making the size of web documents smaller. The adopted conversion rules use the XHTML Basic's module units so that modification and deletion can be carried out with ease. In addition, it has been defined in a XSL document written in XSLT to maintain the extensibility of conversion and the validity of documents, In order to allow it to efficiently work together with WAP l.X's legacy services, the system has been built in a way that can have modules, which analyze information about CC/PP profiles and mobile device headers.

Park, Pil-Seong ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 23~34
In a large scale parallel computation, failures of some nodes or communication links end up with waste of computing resources, Several fault-tolerant MPI libraries have been proposed so far, but the programs written by using such libraries have a portability problem since fault-tolerant features are not supported by the MPI standard yet, In this paper, we propose an application-level fault-tolerant linear system solver that uses the asynchronous iteration algorithm and the standard MPI functions only, which does not have a portability problem and is more efficient by adopting a simplified recovery mechanism.

Hwang, In-Ah ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 35~44
It is essential for any public institution to establish a systematical scheme and a management system to maintain the contents and securities of its ever-expanding web-site with efficiency. The general users want a reliable system and a simple and stress-free web environment and expect the public institutions to maintain the accuracy and conformity of information they provide to the public. In this study, I examined a web-site owned by a certain governmental research institute for the current maintenance status and problems to seek an effective and easy-to-use scheme for both users and web managers. Based on what I learned from my study, I moved on to design a web integration system and tested it on the above mentioned web-site for analysis.

Hong Sung-Chan ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 45~56
With rapid advances in IT and introduction to the concept of business process reengineering, many companies have used tremendous resources in implementing ERP systems to improve cost saving and operational efficiency, However, researchers and IT professionals have not clearly explained the roles and values of ERP systems in achieving business objectives. The purpose of the research is to analyze the differences of organizations' performances based on the organizations' ERP readiness, and to identify the roles of ERP systems in enhancing the organizatons' information capabilities and improving business performances, The findings illustrate that ERP systems implementation do not guarantee business performance improvements, and imply that the implementation of ERP systems is likely to enhance organizations' information capabilities, and information capabilities enhanced by the implementation of ERP systems can improve business performances.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 71~83
In this paper, we developed the Distributed Programming Developing Tool(DPDT) which can make distributed application program efficiency based on the distributed object group framework supporting group management and dynamic binding for object resources requested from clients on distributed systems. The distributed object group framework we constructed provides not only the group register/withdraw, the access right and the name/property services for server objects from a point of view of group management services, but also dynamic binding, replicated object supporting, load balance, and federation among the object groups from a point of view of the supporting services of distributed application, When developing distributed application, by using our tool, server programming developer implements objects in each server system, next registers the properties to need for service provision to the object group. Client programming developer can also develop client program easily by obtaining the access right for the object or the object group and using the properties of objects with the access right permitted to the client. For providing above application developing environment in this paper. we described the definition of object group, the architecture of the distributed object group framework which our tool supports, and its functionalities, then specified the 3 GUI environments of DPDT implemented for providing efficient interfaces between the distributed object group and distributed applications. Finally, by using the DPDT, we showed the group register/withdraw and the access right grant procedure of objects which are server programs, the developing process of client program, and the executing results of the distributed application developed.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 85~97
In this paper, we construct the traffic information database by using the acquired data from the traffic information devices installed in road network, and, by referring to this database, propose the intersection simulation system which can dynamically manage the real-time traffic flow for each section of road from the intersections, This system consists of hierarchical 3 parts, The lower layer is the physical layer where the traffic information is acquired on an actual road. The traffic flow control framework exists in the middle layer. The framework supports the grouping of intersection, the collection of real-time traffic flow information, and the remote monitoring and control by using the traffic information of the lower layer, This layer is designed by extending the distributed object group framework we developed. In upper layer, the intersection simulator applications controlling the traffic flow by grouping the intersections exist. The components of the intersection application in our system are composed of the implementing objects based on the Time-triggered Message-triggered Object(TMO) scheme, The intersection simulation system considers the each intersection on road as an application group, and can apply the control models of dynamic traffic flow by the road's status. At this time, we use the real-time traffic information collected through inter-communication among intersections. For constructing this system, we defined the system architecture and the interaction of components on the traffic flow control framework which supports the TMO scheme and the TMO Support Middleware(TMOSM), and designed the application simulator and the user interface to the monitoring and the controlling of traffic flow.
Optimization of Bi-criteria Scheduling using Genetic Algorithms
Kim, Hyun-Chul ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 99~106
The task scheduling in multiprocessor system Is one of the key elements in the effective utilization of multiprocessor systems. The optimal assignment of tasks to multiprocessor is, in almost all practical cases, an NP hard problem. Consequently various modern heuristics based algorithms have been proposed for practical reason. Recently, several approaches using Genetic Algorithm (GA) are proposed. However, these algorithms have only one objective such as minimizing cost and makespan. This paper proposes a new task scheduling algorithm using Genetic Algorithm combined simulated annealing (GA+SA) on multiprocessor environment. In solution algorithms, the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and the simulated annealing (SA) are cooperatively used. In this method. the convergence of GA is improved by introducing the probability of SA as the criterion for acceptance of new trial solution. The objective of proposed scheduling algorithm is to minimize makespan and total number of processors used. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown through simulation studies. In simulation studies, the results of proposed algorithm show better than that of other algorithms.

Kim Hyung-Mok ; Kim Kwang-Hoon ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 107~115
A workflow procedure has recently become more complicated and large scaled. In this paper, we propose an advanced workflow modeling methodology, called a fragment driven cooperative workflow modeling methodology. which enables several real workflow designers to cooperatively define a workflow model. The methodology is a Bottom-Up approach in terms of integrating a set of fragment ICNs to compose a complete workflow model. Each fragment ICN is defined by each participant in the cooperative modeling session, We also use the ICN based formal description and the ICN based graphical notation as well. Finally, we prove the feasibility of the methodology by implementing a cooperative workflow modeling system.
Implementation of Effective Dominator Trees Using Eager Reduction Algorithm and Delay Reduction Algorithm
Lee, Dae-Sik ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 117~125
The dominator tree presents the dominance frontier from directed graph to the tree. we present the effective algorithm for constructing the dominator tree from arbitrary directed graph. The reducible flow graph was reduced to dominator tree after dominator calculation. And the irreducible flow graph was constructed to dominator-join graph using join-edge information of information table. For reducing the dominator tree from dominator-join graph, we implement the effective sequency reducible algorithm and delay reducible algorithm. As a result of implementation, we can see that the delay reducible algorithm takes less execution time than the sequency reducible algorithm. Therefore, we can reduce the flow graph to dominator tree effectively.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 127~137
This paper presents implementation of client-based VOD service using multicast delivery, Conventional system provide server-based system in multicast delivery but implemented system provides on-demand client-based multicast system. The Multicast Agent Scheduler aggregates clients' request and it generate multicast group addresses and port numbers according to requested video items and service request time. Then it transmits immediately multicast address to VOD server and client who request service. And then VOD server transmits requested streams with a multicast group address and the client joins the group automatically. The Multicast Agent Scheduler assigns the same multicast group address when other clients request an identical video within the same scheduling duration. The proposed system can reduce load of server and support many clients at the same time and applies it to WMT(window media technology) of Microsoft.
An Application-Independent Multimedia Adaptation framework for the Mobile Web
Chon, Sung-Mi ; Lim, Young-Hwan ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 139~148
The desired level for multimedia services in the mobile web environment, the next generation web environment, is expected to be of PC level quality. And great efforts have been made in the development of hadware technology, communication technology, various kinds of services and standardization to support these services, In the mobile web environment, multimedia contents adaptation services should be available through supporting various kinds of devices, network abilities and users' preferences. It means that due to the variety of both desired devices' hardware specifications, called destinations, and desired QoSes, the QoSes in the destinations are not fixed or defined. If a new user wants to stream multimedia contents in a server through a new kind of terminal device, it should be considered whether the existing transcoders are able to adapt the multimedia contents. However, the existing libraries for multimedia adaptation have heavy transcoder figures which include all adaptive functions in one library, The challenge of universal access is too complex to be solved with these all in one solutions. Therefore, in this paper we propose an application independent multimedia adaptation framework which meets the QoS of new and varied mobile devices. This framework is composed of a group of unit transcoders having only one transcoding function respectively, Instead of heavy transcoders. Also, It includes the transcoder manager supporting the dynamic connections of the unit transcoders in order to satisfy end to end QoS.
Range finding algorithm of equidistance stereo catadioptric mirror
Choi, Young-Ho ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 149~161
Catadioptric mirrors are widely used in automatic surveillance system. The major drawback of catadioptric mirror is its unequal image resolution. Equidistance catadioptric mirror can be the solution to this problem. Even double panoramic structure can generate stereo images with single camera system. So two images obtained from double panoramic equidistance catadioptric mirror can be used in finding the depth and height values of object's points. But compared to the single catadioptric mirror. the image size of double panoramic system is relatively small. This leads to the severe accuracy problem in estimation. The exact axial alignment and the exact mount of mirror are the sources that can be avoided but the focal length variation is inevitable. In this paper, the effects of focal length variation on the computation of depth and height of object' point are explained and the effective focal length finding algorithm, using the assumption that the object's viewing angles are almost same in stereo images, is presented.
Personal Information Management Based on the Concept Lattice of Formal Concept Analysis
Kim, Mi-Hye ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 163~178
The ultimate objective of Personal Information Management (PIM) is to collect, handle and manage wanted information in a systematic way that enables individuals to search the information more easily and effectively, However, existing personal information management systems are usually based on a traditional hierarchical directory model for storing information, limiting effective organization and retrieval of information as well as providing less support in search by associative interrelationship between objects (documents) and their attributes, To improve these problems, in this paper we propose a personal information management model based on the concept lattice of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to easily build and maintain individuals' own information on the Web, The proposed system can overcome the limitations of the traditional hierarchy approach as well as supporting search of other useful information by the inter-relationships between objects and their attributes in the concept lattice of FCA beyond a narrow search.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 179~186
We can extract spectrum of the voices and analyze those, after employing features of frequency that voices have. In the spectrum of the voices monophthongs are thought to be stable, but when a consonant(s) meet a vowel(s) in a syllable or a word, there is a lot of changes. This becomes the biggest obstacle to phoneme speech recognition. In this study, using Mel Cepstrum and Mel Band that count Frequency Band and auditory information, we analyze the spectrums that each and every consonant and vowel has and the changes in the voices reftects auditory features and make it a system. Finally we are going to present the basis that can segment the voices by an unit of phoneme.
Camera Extrinsic Parameter Estimation using 2D Homography and Nonlinear Minimizing Method based on Geometric Invariance Vector
Cha, Jeong-Hee ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 6, issue 6, 2005, Pages 187~197
In this paper, we propose a method to estimate camera motion parameter based on invariant point features, Typically, feature information of image has drawbacks, it is variable to camera viewpoint, and therefore information quantity increases after time, The LM(Levenberg-Marquardt) method using nonlinear minimum square evaluation for camera extrinsic parameter estimation also has a weak point, which has different iteration number for approaching the minimal point according to the initial values and convergence time increases if the process run into a local minimum, In order to complement these shortfalls, we, first proposed constructing feature models using invariant vector of geometry, Secondly, we proposed a two-stage calculation method to improve accuracy and convergence by using 2D homography and LM method, In the experiment, we compared and analyzed the proposed method with existing method to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithms,
