Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 9~21
Researches on enhancing the searching function of the web service using the ontology concept have been studying. One of them suggests a searching method for UDDI using DAML and DAML+OIL. However this approach has inconveniences to use operations proper to the circumstance and to define respective ontologies according to them. To solve these problems, we introduce an effective method of dealing with N-Triple, filtering care Triples, merging Triples, semantic connection between Triples and searching Triples for searching information and recommending the results in semantic web environment. Furthermore, we implement this proposed method in a system to test it. Finally, we test the system in the virtual semantic web environment for out research analysis.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 23~35
This work presents o novel method which extract facial region und features from motion picture automatically and controls the 3D facial expression in real time. To txtract facial region and facial feature points from each color frame of motion pictures a new nonparametric skin color model is proposed rather than using parametric skin color model. Conventionally used parametric skin color models, which presents facial distribution as gaussian-type, have lack of robustness for varying lighting conditions. Thus it needs additional work to extract exact facial region from face images. To resolve the limitation of current skin color model, we exploit the Hue-Tint chrominance components and represent the skin chrominance distribution as a linear function, which can reduce error for detecting facial region. Moreover, the minimal facial feature positions detected by the proposed skin model are adjusted by using edge information of the detected facial region along with the proportions of the face. To produce the realistic facial expression, we adopt Water's linear muscle model and apply the extended version of Water's muscles to variation of the facial features of the 3D face. The experiments show that the proposed approach efficiently detects facial feature points and naturally controls the facial expression of the 3D face model.

A mobile device like ceil phone is the necessity of modern people, of ich con be easily connected to a wireless internet through such a mobile device. The demand for a wireless data communication is growing rapidly. However, agencies have not yet completed standardization of a markup language. Due to the development of the Mobile Device, agencies in this field have provided different data formats with each Mobile Device Platform. Traditionally, contents is hand-tailored to suit the target device. A key problem is that the characteristics and capabilities of the mobile device are too diverse to service the most suitable mobile contents. Because of these problems, the need for a re-usable document description language increases. In this paper, we defined Template file that is common data to service mobile devices. We proposed a method that could be an effective wireless web service though design and the implementation of the Call manager & the XSL Generator. In the methodology, when requesting a wireless internet service, a mobile device finds out markup language and a hardware specification of the mobile device through the Call Manager component supports. The XSL Generator component creates the XSL file dynamically that is the most suitable to a device. Finally, contents is serviced to each device by XSLT. It can generate a wireless page more easily by reusing the existing web contents through such course. Therefore, it can save the time and expense for generating a wireless page.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 53~69
Recently as the Internet services become popular, the number of practical approaches to tackle social problems by using computers is increasing rapidly. One of the typical problems is the surveying system that handles a large amount of various data and thus requires much effort in time and manpower. As the necessity of the computerized surveying system is increased, there have been many tries to develop the surveying system based on the web or standalone software for public opinion collection, market research, and so on. In this paper, we design and implement a respondent based real-time surveying system using XML and QCL in order to efficiently process a various style of questionaries.

In web search engines, there are two main methods: directory searching and keyword searching. Keyword searching shows high recall rate but tends to come up with too many search results to find which users want to see the pages. Directory searching has also a difficulty to find the pages that users want in case of selecting improper category without knowing the exact category, that is, it shows high precision rates but low recall rates. We designed and implemented a new web search engine to resolve the problems of directory search method. It regards a category as a fuzzy set which contains keywords and calculate the degree of inclusion between categories. The merit of this method is to enhance the recall rate of directory searching by expanding subcategories on the basis of similarity.
Mobile M/VC Application Framework Using Observer/Observable Design Pattern
Eum Doo-Hun ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 81~92
Recently, the number of mobile phone and PDA users has been rapidly increased. Such monitoring and control applications as geographical and traffic information systems are being used widely with wireless devices. In this paper, we introduce the mobile M/VC application framework that supports the rapid constructions of mobile monitoring and control (M/VC) applications. The mobile M/VC application framework uses the mobile Observer/Observable pattern that extends the Java's Observer/Observable for automatic interactions of server and client objects in wireless environments. It also provides the Multiplexer and Demultiplexer classes that supports the assembly feature of Observer and Observable objects. To construct an application using the framework, developers just need to create necessary objects from the Observable and MobileObserver classes and inter-connect them structurally(like the plug-and-play style) through the Multiplexer and Demultiplexer objects. Then, the state change of Observable objects is notified to the connected Observer objects and user's input with Observer objects is propagated to Observable objects. These mechanism is the main process for monitoring and control applications. Therefore, the mobile M/VC application framework can improve the productivity of mobile applications and enhance the reusability of such components as Observer and Observable objects in wireless environments.
Diffusion Patterns of Telecommunications Services with Network Evolution
Kim Moon-Soo ; Kim Ho ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 93~102
Traditionally, diffusion of telecommunications services has been considerably affected by presence of critical mass and network externalities, and thus shown the so-called late take-off phenomenon. However, as telecommunications network evolves from circuit switching to packet switching, enabling diverse new services such as Internet access, Internet banking and web hosting, it seems this traditional diffusion patterns are changing. By comparing diffusion of the packet-based services with those of circuit-based services and durable goods, we have found the late take-off phenomenon is not involved in diffusion of newly introduced the packet-based services. Moreover, we concluded diffusion of the packet-based services is much faster than that of durable goods, thus showing early take-off phenomenon. Based on this empirical result, we suggest Telcos and ISPs should pay as much attention to the growth state as the introduction stage in order for their packet-based services to be successful in the markets.

Communication Protocol and Role Assignment for Efficient Agent Cooperation in Computer Game Environments
Kim In-Cheol ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 137~149
In this paper, we suggest a message-based communication protocol and a dynamic role assignment mechanism for efficient cooperation and teamwork of agents in computer game environments. This role assignment mechanism is a new one different from both existing static and dynamic mechanisms, in which all decisions related with role assignment are made at once in design phase or execution phase. According to our mechanism, all possible role sets are determined in design phase. Detail decisions regarding which agent takes what role, however, are made in execution phase. This mechanism for role assignment can minimize the negotiation effort in execution phase. Therefore, this mechanism is quite effective especially in real-time multiagent environments. Through experiments, we show the superiority of the new dynamic role assignment mechanism.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 2, 2006, Pages 161~172
As the innovative technologies related to ubiquitous computing are being rapidly developed in recent IT trend, the concern for IT dysfunction(e.g., personal information abuse, information risk, threat, vulnerability, etc.) are also increasing. In our study, we suggested how to design and implement to multiple schemes for strong authentication mechanism in real system environments. We introduce the systematic and secure authentication technologies that resolve the threats incurring from the abuse and illegal duplication of financial transaction card in the public and financial institutions. The multiple schemes for strong authentication mechanism applied to java technology, so various application programs can be embedded, Independent of different platforms, to the smartcard by applying the consolidated authentication technologies based on encryption and biometrics(e.g., finger print identification). We also introduce the appropriate guidelines which can be easily implemented by the system developer and utilized from the software engineering standpoint of view. Further, we proposed ways to utilize java card based biometrics by developing and applying the 'smartcard class library' in order for the developer and engineers involved in real system environment(Secure entrance system) to easily understand the program. Lastly, we briefly introduced the potential for its future business application.
