A Study for the Effective Classification and Retrieval of Software Component
Cho, Byung-Ho ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 1~10
A software development using components reuse is an useful method to reduce the software development cost. But a retrieval method by the keyword and category classifications is difficult to search an exact matching component due to components complexity in component reuse. Therefore, after different existing methods are examined and analyzed, an effective classification and retrieval method using XML specifications and the system architecture of components integrated management based on it are presented. Many discording elements of DTD which is component meta-expression exist in components retrieval. To compensate it, this retrieval method using estimations of precision and concision is effective one to catch considerable matching preference components. This method makes possible to retrieve suitable components having better priority due to searching similar matching components that are difficult in an existing keyword matching method.
Presentation Layer Framework using NOSCO-STOM
Kwon, Ki-Hyeon ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 11~20
One of the most important factor while developing web application is to separate presentation and business logic lowering the maintenance cost. There are various web application development tools mainly categorized as script based such as Servlet, JSP, ASP.NET techniques and dynamic server page development frameworks such as Struts, JSF (Java Server Faces), Spring MVC etc. These tools provide web tier processing solution but not the complete separation of presentation and business logic. In this paper, we developed custom tog component that separate presentation and business logic, to process them we also developed container. In addition, DOM tree is applied to the developed container to manage the presentation effectively.

Classification Criteria for Reuse Library Systems
Lee, Sung-Koo ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 41~50
In order to improve software development productivity and quality, reuse approaches and supporting library systems have been proposed. Library systems have applied various methods to classify, store, retrieve, and comprehend reusable components effectively. As the number of library systems grows, it is difficult to categorize, compare and analyze existing reuse libraries. In this paper, we present classification criteria for reuse library systems. A set of criteria is defined by integrating facet-based and attribute-based classification methods which encode the properties of a reusable component. In order to show the usefulness of the proposed classification criteria, representative library systems based on application domains, as well as component classification methods ore selected and reviewed. We then classify these library systems according to the proposed criteria.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 51~62
The load of this kind of gores, which is heavier than that of any other precedent, and on enormous seamless virtual world characterize the MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) genres. In this seamless environment, gamers can usually accept a set of independent spaces, which is being held by independent game servers, os a single big virtual world. Despite the efforts of some developers, gamers are suffered from huge message traffic which comes from the interaction between client and server and the interaction between fold sowers. In this paper, new gore server architecture using MigAgent is proposed which tries to reduce message traffic. Usually, message traffic reaches the climax when a PC(Player Character) is moving to other field server. MigAgent, designed in this thesis, tries to manage this kind of PCs and to ploy o role of user's agent to prepare for the unexpected situation. Improvement of this system is shown by the analysis of the effect of the size ratio of AOI (Area of Interest) and AC (Adjacent Cell).

Kim Hyung-Jinn ; Lee Jong-Suk Ruth ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 63~77
Nowadays as many Grid communities appear, the requirement of singlepoint-to-multipoint data transfer in Grid environment is growing. In a typical LAN or a special purpose network environment, a multicasting technology was used in such a data dissemination transfer case. However, compared with unicasting fouler performance transfer performance the multicating transfer is worse, and the obligation of a special hardware setting makes it difficult to implement in common Grid environment. Therefore, in this paper we propose on effective data dissemination mechanism for Grid environment named DDMG(Data Dissemination Mechanism for Grid), DDMG uses P2P(Peer-to-Peer) mechanism and Globus XIO library to improve the performance in a data dissemination process and to support heterogeneous protocols in Grid environment. We also evaluate the performance of DDMG mechanism in LAN and WAN environment by comparing with unicast transfer.
A Hybrid Concurrency Control without Deadlock based on Reordering
Cho, Sung-Ho ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 79~86
Many of concurrency control for client-sewer database systems have been proposed and studied in the literature. However, commonly known schemes do not manage to the case of dramatic changes in data contention because the data contention of database systems is changed for each cases. In this paper, we propose o hybrid concurrency control. The proposed scheme uses a optimistic scheme for the first-run transactions and a pessimistic scheme for the second-run transactions. By pre-claiming locks in the second phase, deadlocks which ore possible in pessimistic based concurrency control are prevented in our approach. In addition, the scheme ensures at most one re-execution even if the validation in the optimistic phase fails. By a detailed simulation, this paper examines the behaviors of the Distributed Optimistic Concurrency Control and the proposed scheme. The simulation study shows our scheme outperforms Distributed Optimistic Concurrency Control in our experimental result.

Lee, Seung-Ha ; Kim, Yang-Woo ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 87~103
Advances in computer and network technology provide new computing environment that were only possible with supercomputers before. In order to provide the environment, a distributed runtime system has to be provided, but most of the conventional distributed runtime systems lack in providing dynamic and flexible system reconfiguration depending on workload variance, due to a static architecture of fixed master node and slave working nodes. This paper proposes and implements a new model for distributed job allocation and management which is a distributed runtime system is P2P environment for flexible and dynamic system reconfiguration. The implemented systems enables job program transfer and management, remote compile and execution among cooperative developers based on P2P standard protocol Jxta platform. Since it makes dynamic and flexible system reconfiguration possible, the proposed method has some advantages in that it can collect and utilize idle computing resources immediately at a needed time for distributed job processing. Moreover, the implemented system's effectiveness and performance increase are shown by applying and processing the crawler jobs, in a distributed way, for collecting a large amount of data needed for internet search.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 113~121
To reduce switch cost, the optimum numbers of tunable wavelength converters (TWCs) and internal wavelengths required for contention resolution of asynchronous and variable length packets like internet traffics, is presented in the optical packet switch (OPS) with the shared fiber delay line (FDL) buffer. To optimize TWCs and internal wavelength related to on OPS design cost, we proposed a scheduling algorithm for the limited TWCs and internal wavelengths. For three TWC alternatives (not shared, partially shared, and fully shared cases), the optimum numbers of TWCs and internal wavelengths to guarantee minimum pocket loss are evaluated to prevent resource waste. Under o given load, TWCs and internal wavelengths could be significantly reduced, guaranteeing the same pocket loss probability as the performance of on OPS with full TWCs and internal wavelengths.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 157~174
Ajax interaction model changes the posture of web application to become a stateful over HTTP. Ajax applications are long-lived inthe browser. XMLHTTPRequest (XHR) is used to facilitate the data exchange. Using HTTPS over this interaction is not viable because of the frequency of data exchange. Moreover, switching of protocols form HTTP to HTTPS for sensitive information is prohibited because of server-of-origin policy. The longevity, constraint, and asynchronous features of Ajax application need to hove a different authentication and session fondling mechanism that invoke re-authentication. This paper presents an authentication and session management scheme using Ajax. The scheme is design lo invoke periodic and event based re-authentication in the background using digest authentication with auto-generated password similar to OTP (One Time Password). The authentication and session management are wrapped into a framework called AWASec (Ajax Web Application Security) for coupling to avoid broken authentication and session management.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 7, issue 6, 2006, Pages 175~183
An ad-hoc network is a group of mobile nodes acting as routers. The of hoc node has a precondition of mobility, allowing path to be easily disconnected when transmitting data, thereby increasing network overhead. However, most of hoc routing protocols set up the path based only on the number of hops without considering other practical factors. Here we consider a path with the least substantial number of transmission (SNT) from source to destination based on reliabilities of links. This includes retransmissions due to unreliable links. In this paper, an efficient ad-hoc link reliability based routing (PU) protocol suitable for mobile ah-hoc network in terms of SNT, is proposed. The network overhead and data transmission delay ore reduced, by considering both ad-hoc link reliability and the number of hops. Our empirical performance evaluation comparing to AODV (8) shows that the enhancement is up to about 31% for SNT depending upon the mobility of nodes.
