A Search Interval Limitation Technique for Improved Search Performance of CNN
Han, Seok ; Oh, Duk-Shin ; Kim, Jong-Wan ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 1~8
With growing interest in location-based service (LBS), there is increasing necessity for nearest neighbor (NN) search through query while the user is moving. NN search in such a dynamic environment has been performed through the repeated applicaton of the NN method to the search segment, but this increases search cost because of unnecessary redundant calculation. We propose slabbed continuous nearest neighbor (Slabbed_CNN) search, which is a new method that searches CNN in the search segment while moving, Slabbed_CNN reduces calculation costs and provides faster services than existing CNN by reducing the search area and calculation cost of the existing CNN method through reducing the search segment using slabs.

In this paper, we describes the design of software architecture supporting for healthcare context information service platform based on multi agent in home environment. In this platform, the DOGF supports the execute object and healthcare sensors and device's logical services grouping. JADE framework can support mobility in heterogeneous environment. The multi agents on platform order to support a healthcare context information service it will be able to divide. An agent collects an environment information from distributed devices. Another an agent follows mobile-device specific and it does a different service. And an agent where it manages like this. The mobile-proxy&agent is an interface part between DOGF and JADE, support data interchange or mobility pattern. For DOGF and JADE to provide healthcare context information service, we describes the design of multi agent software platform and multi agent classification by services. Finally we showed the system environments which is physical environments and prototype based on platfonn for healthcare context information services.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 25~41
In this paper, we describes a Compact Distributed Object Group Framework(CDOGF) for mobile collaboration service in ubiquitous computing. CDOGF support network connections of sensors and devices, management of mobile computing devices, and grouping of objects for mobile collaboration service according to the logical area. For this, we defined methods for detail functions and interface. And, we classified into four interactions of that sensors and a application, the CDOGF and a application, between the components of the CDOGF, the CDOGF on a mobile device and the DOGF on a server. We also defined mobile collaboration environment by analyzing existing technologies. In this environment we used the TMO scheme for interaction and the TMOSM for distributed middleware. Finally, we implemented u-hospital application that applied this environment. This application collects environment and health information by PDAs in wards. Also, It provides the information service for patient management task.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 43~50
Authenticated Encryption scheme in RFID system is the important issue for ID security. But, implementing authenticated Encryption scheme in RFID systems is not an easy proposition and systems are often delivered for reasons of complexity, limited resources, or implementation, fail to deliver required levels of security. RFID system is so frequently limited by memory, performance (or required number of gates) and by power drain, that lower levels of security are installed than required to protect the information. In this paper, we design a new authenticated encryption scheme based on the EC(Elliptic Curve)'s x-coordinates and scalar operation. Our scheme will be offers enhanced security feature in RFID system with respect to user privacy against illegal attack allowing a ECC point addition and doubling operation.

Mateo, Romeo Mark A. ; Lee, Jae-Wan ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 51~58
Wireless sensor networks are used by various application areas to implement smart data processing and ubiquitous system. In the recent research of parking management system based on wireless sensor networks, adaptive sensing and efficient data processing are not considered. The effectiveness of implementing these distributed computing devices affects the performance of the applications in parking management. This paper proposes an adaptive sensing using fuzzy wireless sensor for the ubiquitous networks of parking management system. The fuzzy inference system is encoded in the sensor for efficient car presence detection. Moreover, a rule base adaptive module is proposed which wirelessly transmit the new values to each sensor for adapting the environment of car park area. The result of experiments shows that the fuzzy wireless sensor provides more throughputs and less time delays compared to a normal method of data gathering by wireless sensors.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 59~67
New system solves scheduling problem in medical services. The existing scheduling system by FCFS is for a hospital but new system expresses the condition of a hospital and the profit of separate system's parties by the automated negotiation. This system expresses user preference time as a priority number and is designed that the schedule is changed according to the priority number with a negotiation strategy for a patient. And a hospital makes a schedule according to the policy. The system supports customer satisfaction in medical services by considering not only equipment efficiency but also the patent waiting time unlike the existing system considering the idle time for a equipment.

Wang, Shi ; Kim, Hyong-Suk ; Lin, Chun-Shin ; Chen, Hong-Xin ; Lin, Hai-Ping ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 69~77
An algorithm for tracking the trace of structured light is proposed to obtain depth information accurately. The technique is based on the fact that the pixel location of light in an image has a unique association with the object depth. However, sometimes the projected light is dim or invisible due to the absorption and reflection on the surface of the object. A dynamic programming approach is proposed to solve such a problem. In this paper, necessary mathematics for implementing the algorithm is presented and the projected laser light is tracked utilizing a dynamic programming technique. Advantage is that the trace remains integrity while many parts of the laser beam are dim or invisible. Experimental results as well as the 3-D restoration are reported.

Park, Hong-Jin ; Kwon, Soon-Hwan ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 79~90
This paper introduces how we have designed and implemented an efficient starting line-up system of professional baseball players, using the forward chaining technology which is an expert system technology. The knowledge base adopted holds 286 players and 148 evaluation Items. Each player's competitiveness is measured as a numerical value in points through 2 different phases. The 1st phase point represents the static information of the target player and the 2nd his dynamic information. This paper gets a representative value of the player, which is used as the basis on which an efficient line-up system in views of both game environments and counterparts is constructed.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 91~101
This paper proposes component-based density propagation for tracking a component-based human body model that comprises components and their flexible links. We divide a human body into six body parts as components - head, body, left arm, right arm, left foot, and right foot - that are most necessary in tracking its movement. Instead of tracking a whole body's silhouette, using component-based density propagation, the proposed method individually tracks each component of various parts of human body through a human body model connecting the components. The proposed human body tracking system has been applied to track movements usee for young children's movement education: balancing, hopping, jumping, walking, turning, bending, and stretching. This proposed system demonstrated the validity and effectiveness of movement tracking by independently detecting each component in the human body model and by acquiring an average 97% of high tracking rate.

Joo, Han-Kyu ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 119~128
To use commercial software, most software users purchase the software. Some software users, who do not use the software frequently, regard purchasing the software as undue expense. Software rental service can be an effective substitute. To support the software rental service, charging scheme is necessary. Two categories of charging scheme can be considered. One is charging a fixed amount of fee for a fixed period of time and the other is charging a fee based on the actual usage time. In this paper, the software pay-per-use approach based on the amount of time that the software user has used is proposed. The proposed approach gives the capability to calculate the usage time.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 129~139
This paper proposes a Ubiquitous Greenhouse Management System (UGMS) based on USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) which can be real-time monitoring and controlling of greenhouse's facilities by collecting environment and soil information with environment and soil sensors, and CCTV camera. The existing systems were controlled simply by temperature. Also, it was possible to monitor only at control room in a greenhouse. For solving problems of the exiting system, our system can remotely monitor and control greenhouse by considering environment information. The detail components are as follows. The system includes the sensor manager and the CCTV manager to gather and manage greenhouse information with soil and the environment sensors, and camera. Also the system has the greenhouse database storing greenhouse information and the greenhouse server transmitting greenhouse information to the GUI and controlling greenhouse. Finally, the GUI showing greenhouse condition to users exists in our system. To verify the executability of the UGMS, after developing the greenhouse model, we confirmed that our system could monitor and control the greenhouse condition at remote GUI by applying the UGMS's components to the model.

Park, Yong-Jin ; Song, Eun-Ha ; Jeong, Young-Sik ;
Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 141~158
In this paper, we developed the GML Map Server which visualized the map based on GML as international standard for exchanging the common format map and for interoperability of GIS information. And also, it should transmit effectively GML map into the mobile device by using dynamic map partition and caching. It manages a partition based on the visualization area of a mobile device in order to visualize the map to a mobile device in real time, and transmits the partition area by serializing it for the benefit of transmission. Also, the received partition area is compounded in a mobile device and is visualized by being partitioned again as four visible areas based on the display of a mobile device. Then, the area is managed by applying a caching algorithm in consideration of repetitiveness for a received map for the efficient operation of resources. Also, in order to prevent the delay in transmission time as regards the instance density area of the map, an adaptive map partition mechanism is proposed for maintaining the regularity of transmission time. GML Map Server can trace the position of mobile device with WIPI environment in this paper. The field emulator can be created mobile devices and mobile devices be moved and traced it's position instead of real-world. And we developed POIM(POI Management) for management hierarchically POI information and for the efficiency POI search by using the individual tagging technology with visual interface.

Journal of Internet Computing and Services, volume 9, issue 3, 2008, Pages 169~178
In this paper, we propose a video summarization system which is based on activity in video acquired by multiple non-overlapping cameras for wide-area surveillance. The proposed system separates persons by time-independent background removal and detects activities of the segmented persons by their motions. In this paper, we extract eleven activities based on whose direction the persons move to and consider a key-frame as a frame which contains a meaningful activity. The proposed system summarizes based on activity-based key-frames and controls an amount of summarization according to an amount of activities. Thus the system can summarize videos by camera, time, and activity.
