Development of 3-Dimensional Measuring System for the Antenna Mounted Small Radio Equipments

The brand-new small output radio equipment which is over than 800MHz has an all-in-one interior antenna. We suggested new measuring method and developed related equipment because all-in-one radio equipment's performance evaluation requests old way, which is measuring transmitter output and antenna capacity separately, to be changed. That is, origin of small radio equipments with the 360 degree field measured by measuring the TRP, and also 360 degree opposite reception level measured at the radio equipment by measuring the TIS to make a quantitative evaluation was to be. Furthermore, we made managing frequencies, all-in-one radio equipment's best design and capacity management efficiently by measuring the gain of an antenna mounted on a PCB, the circuit around the genetic material, conductive material on the effects of radiation or the reception level.
Effectiveness of DUPACK-independent TCP in Coded Wireless Mesh Networks

While the TCP throughput degradation problem in coded wireless mesh networks is well-known, few effective solutions have been proposed. Most schemes proposed attempts to mask packet reordering by ordering packets at a lower layer or to adjust a packet transmission rate to solve the scarcity problem of coding opportunities. Through the throughput comparison of traditional standard TCP variants, we show that losses and duplication of TCP acknowledgements in coded wireless mesh networks can impact throughput. In addition, we show that a TCP variant that does not rely on duplicate acknowledgements is more suitable for coded wireless mesh networks.
Beacon Node Based Localization Algorithm Using Received Signal Strength(RSS) and Path Loss Calibration for Wireless Sensor Networks

In the range-based localization, the localization accuracy will be high dependent on the accuracy of distance measurement between two nodes. The received signal strength(RSS) is one of the simplest methods of distance measurement, and can be easily implemented in a ranging-based method. However, a RSS-based localization scheme has few problems. One problem is that the signal in the communication channel is affected by many factors such as fading, shadowing, obstacle, and etc, which makes the error of distance measurement occur and the localization accuracy of sensor node be low. The other problem is that the sensor node estimates its location for itself in most cases of the RSS-based localization schemes, which makes the sensor network life time be reduced due to the battery limit of sensor nodes. Since beacon nodes usually have more resources than sensor nodes in terms of computation ability and battery, the beacon node based localization scheme can expand the life time of the sensor network. In this paper, therefore we propose a beacon node based localization algorithm using received signal strength(RSS) and path loss calibration in order to overcome the aforementioned problems. Through simulations, we prove the efficiency of the proposed scheme.
A Channel Selection Algorithm Based on Fuzzy Logic and Learning Automata for Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks

In this paper, we propose a channel selection scheme for secondary users in cognitive radio sensor networks, which includes learning automata and fuzzy logic system (FLS). In the proposed scheme, FLS is used as the channel selection mechanism while the learning automata algorithm is being used to learn the radio environment such as channel link quality. Signal to noise ratio of the link between primary user (PU) and secondary user (SU), the probability of choosing channel, and signal to noise ratio of the link between secondary users are chosen as input parameters for the FLS to decide one data channel among multiple channels. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme does indeed provide advantages in improving the throughput of CR networks, in comparison with some other previous schemes.
Performance of Equalizer Schemes in Power Line Communication Systems for Automatic Metering Reading

In this paper, we propose and analyze the equalizer schemes, zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) in power line communication (PLC) system for automatic meter reading (AMR). For efficient implementation of AMR system with PLC, effects of impulsive noise and multipath channel should be mitigated. To overcome these effects, the above equalizer schemes are employed. System performance is evaluated in term of bit error rate. From simulation results, it is confirmed that the equalizer can significantly improve bit error rate (BER) performance in PLC system, and MMSE equalizer provides better performance than ZF scheme. The results of this paper can be applied to AMR system as well as various smart grid services using PLC.
Energy-Efficient Data Aggregation and Dissemination based on Events in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we compare and analyze data aggregation methods based on event area in wireless sensor networks. Data aggregation methods consist of two methods: the direct transmission method and the aggregation node method. The direct aggregation method has some problems that are data redundancy and increasing network traffic as all nodes transmit own data to neighbor nodes regardless of same data. On the other hand the aggregation node method which aggregate neighbor's data can prevent the data redundancy and reduce the data. This method is based on location of nodes. This means that the aggregation node can be selected the nearest node from a sink or the centered node of event area. So, we describe the benefits of data aggregation methods that make up for the weak points of direct data dissemination of sensor nodes. We measure energy consumption of the existing ways on data aggregation selection by increasing event area. To achieve this, we calculated the distance between an event node and the aggregation node and the distance between the aggregation node and a sink node. And we defined the equations for distance. Using these equations with energy model for sensor networks, we could find the energy consumption of each method.
Analysis of Mutual Inductances between Power and Communication Lines above Ground

The mutual inductances between power line and communication line above ground are studied in this paper. A long power line is discussed and the terminal effect above ground is taken into account. By applying Carson's method, the analytical solution to mutual inductances is derived and numerically evaluated. The analytical solutions derived in this paper are valid for both oblique and parallel proximity between power and communication lines, and the numerical results are compared with previous published results.
Design of Optical Multimode Interference Couplers with Ultracompact Propagating Width

In this paper, to evaluate the design properties of 3D optical multimode interference (MMI) couplers with ultracompact width, modal transmission line theory and effective dielectric method are combined with together. A coupling efficiency based on the composed approach is defined, and the coupling length is numerically determined for the design of 3 dB coupler, cross coupler and bar coupler. The simulation result shows that the designed MMI coupler has a low insertion loss and a high splitting ratio.
Production Management System having Realtime Cost Calculation Function using RFID

In this paper, the implementation of a production control system has been studied in order to obtain Realtime Cost Calculation using an exact Machine Factor and Man Factor based on RFID reader data transferred through network. For the study, microprocessor built in the controller of production facilities is used and also RFID reader is built additionally. Control part, card reader used for check the beginning and ending working time of workers, and Machine Factor and Man Factor calculated are transferred to server via PLC transmission port, serial transmission port, or Ethernet transmission port. By using the system, the production cost or the production efficiency is calculated exactly. Therefore it is possible to improve production rate and cost reduction by the use of the proposed production control system.
Electro-optical Characteristics of LED Flat Light Source in Low Temperature Condition

Recently, LCD (liquid crystal display) industry is needed to goods of high reliability and wide range temperature condition and it is interested in products for extremely cold condition without failure of light-up. In this experiment, we made the LED backlight unit for Automotive-navigation under the extremely cold condition. And for making this backlight unit, we used to eight side emitting type white LEDs with 3W high power LED. We could know that this backlight unit releases to 18,000 nit in 24W power consumption and start up voltage time is under the 1ms in the ambient temperature at -40.
Design of Wi-Fi based Mobile Game App for a Smart Phone

With the rapid growth of recent smart phone technology, the interests for the design of online game in mobile computing environment are highly focussed on with great attention. Smart phone as a mobile terminal device, however, has many restrictions for implementing online mobile game since the limitation of relatively low performance of a processor, low resolution of GUI, small memory spaces, and short battery power. Therefore, most of games are very restricted on online and multi-play functions. In this paper, we design and implement mobile online game app in component based smart phone environment in order to take over these restrictions in mobile environment. Especially, the implemented mobile game is able to play online game among Wi-Fi based game server and another smart phone.
Cooperative Communication Method with Detection Probability on the Cognitive Radio

In the cooperative communication, The relay that transmit signal to destination can achieve diversity gain. But transmitter and relay must have own frequency to transmit signal to destination. If Relay is secondary user and does not have own frequency, relay can't transmit signal to destination. So, To analysis performance of cognitive radio We need to consider detection probability of secondary user. In the paper we propose cooperative communication system considering detection probability. And to compare proposed system and conventional, we also simulate incremental cooperative communication. Through the simulation result, we can know that BER performance of proposed scheme is better than incremental relaying in the cognitive radio.
MPEG-2 Video Watermarking in Quantized DCT Domain

Watermarking is one of the methods that insist on a copyright as it append digital signals in digital informations.(image, video, ets) In this paper, we proposed a digital watermarking algorithm which improved Gradient of DCT Coefficient. This method targets MPEG-2 TM5 system and watermarking process is to be performed during Quantization DCT. Watermark was inserted on Y components of each frames. The PSNR difference between the compressed images with and without watermarking was only 0..23dB. In each case that the resulting image was reusable the normalized correlation between the extracted watermark and the original one was above 0.99.

Server overload is directly proportional to requested image data size in a image processing. If request data are increase then system is overloaded in a image processing system. For the reduce of server bottle neck, we will be able to consider a distributed processing. Simple distributed processing system can solve server bottleneck and system overload but high cost system requirements. In this paper, Proposes a new distributed image processing system. Object activation technology are being grafted on to simple distributed processing system. It can optimize the user of system resources and can reuse idle system resources in network.
A Network Monitoring System with Automatic Network Configuration

In this paper we describe an efficient and easy to use network monitoring system which can identify network configuration automatically by means of capturing and analyzing the ARP broadcasting packets. After identifying network nodes, it gathers detail information of each node such as NETBIOS name and number of hop counts using ICMP and then shows subnet configuration with graphical method. This monitoring system also has a subset of intrusion detection system that can monitor any port scanning trial. With this automatic network configuration functions, it helps to lessen address keeping track overhead which is crucial for network monitoring so that it provides efficient network management.
Image Processing for Mobile Information Retrieval Service

The modern society with the wide spread recognition of the importance of informatics and for the development of information and communication technology is rapidly processing. Especially the rapid development in mobile technology boost up the general expectation that one can get the information he wants anytime anywhere. Accordingly image search for the convenient information retrieval is becoming common. However general image search has difficulties because inexactitude extracting character in the image and getting the detail information in extracted character. Therefore these paper make character recognition through the images that I photographed a sightseeing resort, a signboard of a lot of stores to a smart phone camera, so information offer to be convenient to users is a purpose. A user can get detailed information, by character extraction way called top-hat algorithm and connect to a server.

Recently, according to the development of ubiquitous computing, the u-GIS which not only used in u-Transport, u-Care, u-Fun, u-Green, u-Business, u-Government, and u-City but also used to provides various spatial information such as the location of user is being the core technology of the ubiquitous computing environment. In this paper, we implemented an mobile spatio-temporal Query Processing Systems for handling the Spatio-Temporal Data in mobile equipment.The mobile spatio-temporal Query Processing Systems provides the spatio-temporal data type and the spatio-temporal operator that is expanded by the spatial data type and the spatial operator from OepenGIS "Simple Feature Specification for SQL". It supports arithmetic coding compression techniques that is considered with a spatio-temporal data specific character. It also provides the function of data cashing for improving the importation and exportation of the spatio-temporal data between a embedded spatio-temporal DBMS and u-GIS server.
The Application of Load Re-configuration Using Genetic Algorithm for the Distribute Systems Mischance

Distribution system loss minimization re-configuration is 0-1 planning problem, and the number of combinations requiring searches is extremely large when dealing with typical system scales. For this reason, the application of a genetic algorithm (GA) seems a tractive to solve this problem. Although Genetic algorithms are a type of random number search method, they incorporate a multi-point search feature and are therefore superior to one-point search techniques. The incorporate of GAs for solving large combinational problem has received wide attention. Further, parallel searching can be performed and the optimal solution is more easily reach ed. In this paper, for improving GA convergence characteristics in the distribution system loss minimization re-configuration problem, a chromosome "Limited Life" concept is introduced. Briefly, considering the population homogenization and genetic drift problems, natural selection is achieved by providing this new concept, in addition to natural selection by fitness. This is possible because individuals in a population have an age value. Simulation were carried out using a model system to check this method's validity.
Recognition of Fire Levels based on Fuzzy Inference System using by FCM

Fire monitoring system detects a fire based on the values of various sensors, such as smoke, CO, temperature, or change of temperature. It detects a fire by comparing sensed values with predefined threshold values for each sensor. However, to prevent a fire it is required to predict a situation which has a possibility of fire occurrence. In this work, we propose a fire recognition system using a fuzzy inference method. The rule base is constructed as a combination of fuzzy variables derived from various sensed values. In addition, in order to solve generalization and formalization problems of rule base construction from expert knowledge, we analyze features of fire patterns. The constructed rule base results in an improvement of the recognition accuracy. A fire possibility is predicted as one of 3 levels(normal, caution, danger). The training data of each level is converted to fuzzy rules by FCM(fuzzy C-means clustering) and those rules are used in the inference engine. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated by using forest fire data from the UCI repository.
Intelligent Video Surveillance System using RFID Technology

lots of problems are emerged on the conventional surveillance systems at urban railway infrastructure. Many projects and research activities have been processing on those problems. Moreover, The interest in Intelligent Video Surveillance System that provides accident prevention and safe driving in urban railway service is dramatically increasing. This paper represents a drawback of existing studies and introduces a new solution using RFID TAG technology to improve the existing problems. Finally, it describes the practice test of automatic notification system based USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) for a dangerous situation.
A Cross-Layer Cooperative Routing Architecture for Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we propose a Cross-Layer Cooperative Routing(CLCR) architecture to support transmission efficiency in mobile wireless sensor networks. The main features and contributions of the proposed architecture and method are as follows. First, the clustering which uses the location information of nodes is utilized as infrastructure. Second, a cross-layer strategy which uses the technologies of network layer, MAC layer, physical layer together to support transmission efficiency and channel efficiency for cooperative-aided routing and transmission. Third, we consider realistic approach in the view points of the mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks while conventional methods just consider fixed sensor network environments. The performance evaluation of the proposed method is performed via simulation using OPNET and theoretical analysis. The results of performance evaluation of the proposed CLCR show improvement of transmission efficiency by the proposed CLCR.
Development of Web-based Network Diligence and Indolence Management System

In recent diligence and indolence management systems, server and client are not separated and data are not convert into data base. Therefore these recent systems have several weaknesses such as data modification and management. In this paper, we propose a new Web-based Network Diligence and Indolence Management system (WNDIM) to solve the weakness and improve the system performance of recent system. The main features and contributions of the proposed system are as follows. First, server and client are separated, and all data are converted into data base, Second, with the construction of APM server the data modification and management are efficiently operated. Third, a political decision of the system is defined. Fourth, the system can efficiently support user-oriented services such as the collection of diligence and indolence data and the sum of off-duty days. From the implementation and performance evaluation of the proposed WNDIM, we can see the system can efficiently support the diligence and indolence management, currently we are using the proposed WNDIM system in the real filed.
Development of 3-Screen Video Service based on Imbedded Web Browser

3-Screen service means that one video contents is operated on 3 different terminals(smart-phone, IP-TV, internet PC) with same service browser. In this paper, we developed 3-Screen video service system based on imbedded web browser. We evaluated and analysed of developed 3-Screen service system through Agribusiness video service offering test environment on the LG U+ network. As a result of tests, it showed that 3-Screen video service was well performed in each 3-Screen service terminals. The result of this paper will be utilized in various application developments for the 3-Screen video service in the future.
Dynamic Pfair Scheduling Using an Improved Reach Function

The Pfair scheduling algorithm, which is an optimal algorithm in the hard real-time multiprocessor environments, is based on the fixed quantum size. Recently, several methods that can determine the optimal quantum dynamically are developed in the mode change environments. These methods are based on the reach function and in many cases, we have to do the sequential search to find the optimal quantum. In this paper, we propose a new scheduling method, based on the improved reach function, that can determine the optimal quantum more quickly.
A Research on the Generalization of the Construction of an Attribute Grammar Using One Attribute

An attribute grammar is a set of semantic rules added to the syntax rules. This attribute grammar uses two attributes. It is difficult to write by its additional rules to the existing syntax rules with two attributes understanding the parsing steps. So this paper analyses attributes and an attribute grammar to construct the attribute grammar easily proposing three definitions and shows a possibility that an attribute grammar can be written with only one attribute in some cases.
A Research on the Efficient Type-Checking for an Expression Using LL and LR

One of the methodologies for the type-checking of an expression is the attribute grammar. But this attribute grammar is difficult to write because two attributes should be used with the full understanding of parsing steps. So this paper proposes a methodology to construct an expression attribute grammar easily. It shows the possibility to check the type of an expression with only one attribute through a grammar construction method.
Local Context based Feature Extraction for Efficient Face Detection

Recently, the surveillance system is highly being attention. Various Technologies as detecting object from image than determining and recognizing if the object are person are universally being used. Therefore, In this paper shows detecting on this kind of object and local context based facial feather detection algorithm is being advocated. Detect using Gabor Bunch in the same time Bayesian detection method for revision to find feather point is being described. The entire system to search for object area from image, context-based face detection, feature extraction methods applied to improve the performance of the system.
Cross-Platform Mobile System for Social Applications

As smartphone use has been steadily growing over the past year, social networking on the mobile phones appears to be increasing. In this paper, we propose a cross-platform mobile architecture for supporting social applications. The key design objectives for developing the proposed system include: 1) providing personalized data through filtering information which is supplied by various social applications, 2) providing a cross-platform architecture for adapting various smartphones such as Apple iPhone and Google android. We verified system design by implementing a smartphone application which displays the filtered pictures from social network services such as Flickr and Picasa.
Research on the Feasibility of DAP-NAD for Wideband Tactical Ad-hoc Network

This paper evaluates on the feasibility of MIL-STD-188-220 protocol as a medium access protocol over WNW(Wideband Network Waveform) by simulating and comparing with IEEE 802.11e-based protocol. WNW is newly designed waveform for next-generation broadband tactical communication system. This paper shows the feasibility of using the MIL-STD-188-220 protocol that shows better performance than IEEE 802.11e-based protocol on the particular environment.
