Implementation of a Dynamic High-performance Notch Filter applying CIC Filter Scheme

Power Line Communication (PLC: Power Line Communication) to propagate the current power lines are in every household of the existing infrastructure is the most extensive network configuration. In addition, the cost required for network configuration, the advantage of almost zero for the investors and is sufficient to attract the attention of operators. The PLC is supply power to power lines used the voice and data communication technologies put it on KHz ~ tens of hundreds of high-frequency signal MHz. But because uses power lines as existing wireless communications systems will occurs interference. The notch filters of a common way to eliminate the interference are used. In this paper, a dynamic high-performance notch filter applying CIC filter performance was verified through MATLAB and was implemented using a TI's TMS320C6416T DSP board.
A Study on the Electrical Properties of Transition Metal Oxides Thin Film Device

Performance Analysis of a Double Opportunistic Cooperative Diversity System with Uniform Power Relay Selection

Cooperative diversity system can be applied to an ad-hoc network for reduction of the power consumption, for expansion of the communication range, and for improving the system performance. In a selection relay cooperative diversity system which selects the maximal SNR(Signal-to-noise ratio) relay for transmitting the source information, the selected strong relay transmits continuously under slow fading channel, consequently it reduces the network lifetime. To overcome this defect, recently the uniform power relay selection has been studied to expand the network life time. We apply the uniform power relay selection to a DOT(Double opportunistic transmit) cooperative system that select the transmit relays, of which the SNR of the transmit relays exceed both of the source-relay and the relay-destination threshold. And the performance of the system is analytically derived. The performance comparisons are made among SC(Selection combining), MRC(Maximal ratio combining), and uniform power relay selection of the cooperative diversity system. We noticed that the performance of the uniform power relay selection is inferior to that of others. It is interpreted that the uniform transmit opportunity to the selected relays for extension of the network lifetime degrades the performance.
QoS-guaranteed Routing for Wireless Sensor Networks

In some applications of wireless sensor networks, requirements such as energy efficiency, real-time, and reliable delivery need to be considered. In this paper, we propose a novel routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks. It provides real-time, reliable delivery of a packet, while considering energy awareness. In the proposed algorithm, a node estimates the energy cost, delay and reliability of a path to the sink node, based only on information from neighboring nodes. Then, it calculates the probability of selecting a path, using the estimates. When packet forwarding is required, it randomly selects the next node. A path with lower energy cost is likely to be selected, because the probability is inversely proportional to the energy cost to the sink node. To achieve real-time delivery, only paths that may deliver a packet in time are selected. To achieve reliability, it may send a redundant packet via an alternate path, but only if it is a source of a packet. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is suitable for providing energy efficient, real-time, reliable communications.

For rapid formed the ad hoc wireless backbone network in disaster scene, It is necessary for real-time deployment scheme of wireless ad hoc relay devices by first responders without pre-planning. However, in order to realize this scheme, redundant deployment should be minimized, as well as optimal location of relay devices should be selected to expand communication coverage. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new deployment scheme of relay devices to optimize communication coverage and then through simulations showed that improved performance of algorithm.
The Performance Improvement of MCMA Adaptive Equalization in 16-QAM Signal using Dual Weight Vector

This paper is concerned with the DW-MCMA(Dual Weight vector Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm) adaptive equalization algorithm using the dual weight vector in order to improve the convergence characteristic and residual inter-symbol interference which are used as the performance index for an adaptive equalizer. The equalizer is used to reduce the distortion caused by the inter-symbol interference on the wireless and the wired band-limited channel that connect the transmitting system and receiving system. The CMA is widely known as the representative algorithm for equalization. In order to transmitting the mass information with a high speed through the channels, a fast convergence speed in the equalizer performance that is able to minimize overhead needed for equalization is acquired. In this paper, By the computer simulation, we confirmed that the proposed DW-MCMA has the faster convergence speed and the smaller residual inter-symbol interference than the conventional CMA and MCMA.
A Study on the Fuzzy control of Optimum Design System for Bicycle Frame

Leisure bicycles are fabricated in a variety of ways these days. Although, the bicycles are designed and manufactured in a variety of ways by numerous companies, customer has a difficulty in gaining information of bicycle which suits them. Accordingly most of buyers purchase bicycle considering body size. Employing the method is one of the ways to decide bike size on the ground of standard body measurement. However, the method above to purchase bicycle is not appropriate for customer considering his/her body. The research mainly aims to design bicycle which allows buyer to adjust optimal design system by himself/herself considering his/her body size. In addition, a device employing fuzzy controller implemented bicycle run test. Using on the result, the research explored an optimal bicycle system which makes a decision whether a bicycle fits body of customer.
A Study on the Efficient LT Decoding Scheme using GE Triangularization

In this paper an efficient LT decoding scheme using GE triangularization is proposed. The proposed algorithm has the desirable performance in terms of both overhead and computational complexity. Belief propagation algorithm is a fast and simple decoding scheme for LT codes. However, for a small code block length k, it requires a large overhead to decode, and OFG which has a small overhead has a large computational complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm noticeably reduces the computational complexity by more than 1/5 with respect to that of OFG and also its overhead has a small value about 1~5%.
Discovering News Keyword Associations Using Association Rule Mining

The current Web portal sites provide significant keywords with high popularity or importance; specifically, user-friendly services such as tag clouds and associated word search are provided. However, in general, since news articles are classified only with their date and categories, it is not easy for users to find other articles related to some articles while reading news articles classified with categories. And the conventional associated keyword service has not satisfied users sufficiently because it depends only upon user queries. This paper proposes a way of searching news articles by utilizing the keywords tightly associated with users' queries. Basically, the proposed method discovers a set of keyword association patterns by using the association rule mining technique that extracts association patterns for keywords by focusing upon sentences containing some keywords. The method enables users to navigate the space of associated keywords hidden in large news articles.
Development of Remote Management and Control System for VoIP Terminal

In this paper, we design and implementation of effective remote management system for VoIP(Voice over IP) terminal. Ordinary VoIP terminal is connected inside of NAT(Network Address Translation) assigned private IP address. NAT provides address mapping between outside public IP address and inside private IP address, for outside system telephone call is connected to inside VoIP terminal. In this paper, we also design and implementation of UDP hole punching function that the outside calls pass through the NAT, for outside management system call is connected to internal VoIP terminal, and gathered to management information of the VoIP terminal. Also, we evaluated and analysed of developed system in the test environment. As a result of test, It showed that it was well performed without any data error and data loss in the connectivity, and It showed that it was well gathered management information of the VoIP terminal.
TCP Performance Improvement in Network Coding over Multipath Environments

In one of the most impacting schemes proposed to address the TCP throughput problem over network coding, the network coding layer sends an acknowledgement if an innovative linear combination is received, even when a new packet is not decoded. Although this scheme is very effective, its implementation requires a limit on the coding window size. This limitation causes low TCP throughput in the presence of packet reordering. We argue that a TCP variant detecting a packet loss relying only on timers is effective in dealing with the packet reordering problem in network coding environments as well. Also we propose a new network coding layer to support such a TCP variant. Simulation results for a 2-path environment show that our proposed scheme improves TCP throughput by 19%.
An Adaptive Deinterlacing Algorithm Using a Median Filter

In this paper, we propose a new deinterlacing method that converts the interlaced images into the progressive images using a field. Firsr of all, it estimates the direction of edge. If it makes an accurate estimate of the direction, then it interpolates a pixel using ELA(Edge-based Line Average). Otherwise, it estimates the new direction of edge, and then,, it interpolates a pixel using a proposed median filter. From simulation results, it is shown that the proposed method improves both subjective and objective image quality as compared with previous deinterlacing methods.
An Internet Stopper Using ARP Spoofing with Automatic Node Identification

In this paper we describe an efficient and easy to use internet stopper, which is called AINS (Automatic Internet Stopper), which uses ARP spoofing scheme. Instead of forwarding packets to router for the case of hacking, in ARP spoofing, the AINS ignores all the packets so that internet stopping operates. The AINS program needs to be installed only in manager computer that does not require additional agent program. In addition to setting manually the stopping computer list, it is able to indentify network nodes automatically by analyzing broadcasting packets. The experimental results show that less than 4 secs for spoofing interval is enough for blocking internet usage regardless the number of computers and therefore network overhead is negligible. The AINS can indentify and control network nodes not only on same subnet but also on different subnet only if they are connected onto same ethernet switch physically. It is being used for an efficient tool for controling internet usage of university computer laboratory and also for an efficient network management.

This paper shows a u-Health management system in user's Life environment, which is different from previous ones by enterprises. It's designed for users(citizens) and service provider(especially providing medical service). This paper is discussing on the proof on the service model being operated near the Tancheon stream in the city of Sung-nam. To maximize users' satisfaction, this service has been designed on four disciplines(so easy, so simple, well-customized, funny feedback) in the viewpoint for users. Its algorithm has 4 levels which are measurement, prescription, monitoring and feedback. In the system. there are HCBs(health check boothes) checking out status and assessment of users, customized health prescription customized a health management service prescription engine, exercise programs customized on exercise equipments near the stream and monitoring system.
An Implementation of Mobile Game using JBox2D Physics Engine in Android Platform

As a software component for computer game, the physics engine simulates objects' movement according to the laws of physics. This paper introduces a design and implementation of mobile game on the Android platform, where we used JBox2D physics engine library and Android graphics APIs. We borrowed the key idea of this game from Crayon Physics which is known as a famous PC game. This game starts with no way from user character to destination character. The game user has to make a way to destination character from user character by creating polygon objects between them. The user wins when user character meets destination character. However, the game user has to decide the time to create objects and their shapes well because all objects in this game are governed by the laws of physics. As an important thing of this paper, we introduced into this game new input methods of LCD touch and sensors embedded in mobile devices but not in PCs. Game users can create objects by drawing polygons with LCD touch and move objects or characters according to sensor values from accelerator sensors by tilting the mobile device.
A Study on Wireless Data Quality Measurement Method for u-Healthcare Service in HSDPA Environment

Recently, the wireless data communication infrastructure appearing before the footlights crosses the limit in the wire and develop into the fast speed. Particularly, the issue about the u-Healthcare service using this increases. And the investigation of the quality guarantee of the wireless data network is important for the smooth service providing. However, the quality control research about the wireless network is insufficient because the existing research performs the quality control between the termination about the wired network continually. This paper presented the mobile service quality measurement reference considering the radio environment,that is the method for satisfying the quality guarantee of the wireless data network user offered the u-Healthcare service as the research about this and user needs. For this purpose, wireless data quality measurement indicator and standard was selected. The quality measure evaluation plan was presented according to the service. And each service presented the quality index especially.
The Efficient Allocation Method of DAB Channels on T-DMB Frequency Band

Analog medias are converting to digital with the development of the digital communications. The Korean radio broadcasting services yet on analog and the research for the digital radio is progressing. The digital conversion of radio broadcasting has already progressed in foreign countries because of the technical limitation of analog broadcasting(The radio-frequency efficiency is poor). DAB is one of the digital radio mode, it doesn't use on AM/FM band and uses on T-DMB frequency band. So, it has an advantage of being able to broadcast with the existing radio without interference at once. On the other hand, it has the potential to cause interference to existing T-DMB broadcasting. In this paper, we propose an efficient DAB channel allocation method for digital radio on T-DMB frequency band. This paper allocates the DAB channel without interference to existing T-DMB broadcasting and proves the proposed method through simulations for the interference analysis.

In this paper, we intend to implement system of the automation of foul/waste water disposal plant by using processed sensor data. We designed the model of communication system based on wireless indoor environment, implemented monitoring and control system based on IP. In the implemented monitoring system, it is possible to control and monitor through not only PC but also smart device(tablet PC, smart phone) anywhere, if WEB is connected.
The Model Proposal of Mobile Cloud Security Technology

The Korean domestic cloud market will reach a value of 2 trillion Korean won by 2014. The domestic market is expected to grow rapidly in size despite the fact that there exist activation barriers in mobile cloud services, concerns about the reliability of service, and concerns about security and confidentiality of data. Under these circumstances, existing IT security technologies may be be utilized to provide sufficient response characteristics. Despite this, they must be optimized for mobile cloud computing and enhanced to mitigate inherent security flaws. In this study, mobile cloud security is covered along with use cases that cover the cases where mobile devices are particularly vulnerable and suggest ways to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Implementation of a T-DMB Single Element Cavity Filter Using HFSS

In this study, we design and implement a cavity filter for the Korea T-DMB broadcasting transmitter station and repeater system. HFSS 3 dimensional field simulation tool is used for this study. T-DMB filter has to be high quality factor Q, and cavity filter is applying in T-DMB system due to high handling power. We use HFSS simulation tool for design to obtain exact resonant frequency with easy design. A cavity filter is implemented based on the simulated results, and test results are compared with simulations. Measured resonant frequency and bandwidth are 211.8MHz and 0.1MHz, and correspond with design values.
An Emotion Transfer System Based on LED Using Bluetooth and ZigBee

In this paper, we propose an emotion transfer system based on LED, which presents and transmitts users emotion through Bluetooth and ZigBee using LED light. We propose an emotional LED system interacting multiple LED lighting system and implement the proposed system using smartphone and WPAN network with Bluetooth and ZigBee. For the transmission of data, ZigBee is adopted for each LED lighting system and Bluetooth is utilized for the smartphone. Also, the LED lighting systems which are connected to smartphone have both ZigBee and Bluetooth module for the heterogeneous network. The implemented system shows the validity and applicability of the proposed system.
Mobile IP Router in Ad Hoc Network

This paper addresses mobile IP router which communicate between nodes in Ad Hoc network as well as supply attachment to outer Internet. Ad Hoc network is one which exchanges information through cooperations among nodes without wire infrastructure, mobile IP router considers the network as one mobile unit, and supports Internet connection in mobile as well as fixed spaces. Therefore, this router can accommodate the routing of Ad Hoc network, and provide nodes in Ad Hoc network with Internet connection. So mobile IP router can provide Ad-Hoc terminals with the diverse wireless services, such as Internet connection service, routing, mobility, and so on.
Scheme for Communication Service in Coastal Area Using Mobile IP Router with Multiple Interfaces

These days as there are growing the number of vessel sailing, diverse aquaculture industries, fishing works, and leisure activities in coastal area, the diverse communication services have been required for secure voyage information. This paper addresses the scheme for costal area service using mobile IP router with multiple interfaces. For this, this system has the wireless interfaces, such as WiBro, HSDPA, and WLAN that can provides vessels with divers communication services, and can provide the vessels with the diverse information communication services in real-time through wireless communication network installed in costal area. So this can provide the infrastructure that supplies the authorized seamless information communication services.

This paper suggests emergency medical service vehicle (ambulance) algorithm when the emergency patient occurs in order to be sufficient the maximum permission time T of arrival about all sectors in one city that is divided in the various areas. This problem cannot be solved in polynomial times. One can obtains the solution using the integer programming. In this paper we suggest vertex set (or dominating set) algorithm and easily decide the location of ambulances. The core of the algorithm decides the location of ambulance is to the maximum degree vertex among the neighborhood of minimum degree vertex. For the 33 sectors Ostin city in Texas, we apply
minutes. The traditional set cover algorithm with integer programming cannot obtains the solution in several T in 18 cases. But, this algorithm obtains solution for all of the 18 cases.

In this paper, using Zigbee-based wireless sensor networks and Lego MindStorms NXT robot, a remote monitoring and navigation system for mobile robot has been developed. Mobile robot can estimate its position using encoder values of its motor, but due to the existing friction and shortage of motor power etc., error occurs. To fix this problem and obtain more accurate position of mobile robot, a ultrasound module on wireless sensor networks has been used in this paper. To overcome disadvantages of ultrasound which include straightforwardness and narrow detection coverage, we rotate moving node attached to mobile robot by

Causal Information Transmission Protocol Between Publishers and Subscribers for Overlapping Groups

Communication infrastructure of wireless sensor networks significantly tends to depend on application requirements. Gossip communication is becoming one of the promising solutions for addressing its scalability problems in providing information propagation functionality based on the P (publish)/S (subscribe) paradigm. In particular, despite the importance of both guaranteeing message delivery order required and supporting overlapping groups in sensor networks, there exist little research works on development of gossip-style dissemination protocols to satisfy all these requirements. In this paper, we present the latest causal information transmission protocol between publishers and subscribers for overlapping groups. In this protocol, sensor leaders as publishers might guarantee consistently causally ordered message delivery among themselves by aggregating causality information. On the other hand, only the latest causal information piggybacked on each multicast message is transmitted from publishers to subscribers through gossip-style dissemination. Its scalability feature might be highly suitable for the area of the applications requiring only the minimum meaningful information.

There may be a discrepancy between the syntactic phrase in security policies and that in queries, called semantic gap problem. New access control derive semantic implications from context and purpose hierarchy tree and control the exceed privileges using semantic gap factor calculating the degree of the discrepancy. And then, We illustrate prototype system architecture and show performance comparison with existing access control methods.
A Study of ePub-based Standard Framework Supporting Mutual Comparability of eBook DRM

EBooks refer to electronic versions of books which are accessible via internet with forms of digital texts. In recent years, Amazon's Kindle digital eBooks has revealed the possibilities of success of the e-book market, which leads other companies to launch eBook service such as Google's eBook stores and Apple's iPad and eBook service. These reveal that the eBook market is finally showing a substantial amount of growth. Although the issue of technical support of eBook copyright protection emerges from the fast growing eBook marketplace, current technic of commercial DRM for protecting eBook copyright protection still has problems of non-comparability. Therefore, with the current technical status, DRM comparability problems, which have already occurred in music DRM environment, would also happen in eBook environment. This study suggests a standard framework to support eBook DRM comparability. When development of the standard reference software for eBook DRM comparability is completed, the sources will be registered as shareware to be open to public.
Automated Brightness Control Using Distance Measuring Sensor for Reducing the Power Consumption of Emotional Lighting

In this paper, we propose and implement the automated brightness control system using distance measuring sensor for reducing the power consumption of emotional lighting device. In order to reduce the power consumption of emotional lighting devices which express continuous color changes, the proposed device measures the distance continuously using ultrasonic sensor and by using this, it also performs PWM Dimming control. The lighting device is composed of micro controller, LED driver, ultrasonic sensor, communication module and so on. And the device performs the real time brightness control by adapting the measured distance information from ultrasonic sensor to PWM signals. From this experiment, we implement the active lighting system which minimizes unnecessary power consumption during user's absence by adapting existing energy reducing techniques.

The security issue in urban transit system has been widely considered as the common matters. The safe urban transit system is highly demanded because of the vast number of daily passengers, and providing safety is one of the most challenging projects. We introduced a test model for integrated security system for urban transit system and built it at a subway station to demonstrate its performance. This system consists of cameras, sensor network and central monitoring software. We described the smart camera functionality in more detail. The proposed smart camera includes the moving objects recognition module, video analytics, video encoder and server module that transmits video and audio information. We demonstrated the system's excellent performance.

Recently, Internet web services including bulletin board of companies, public intuitions, or governments became the main ways of personal information leakage. However, it is hard to succeed to detect personal information and protect it from leakage manually by system administrators, because the number of web boards and attached files is so huge. Therefore, automatic scanning and filtering methods are needed to protect personal information like resident registration numbers from unexpected exposure. To do this, we developed a novel and advanced web security system for automatic personal information scanning and filtering.

Current service discovery protocols such as UPnP, Jini, SLP provide the basic function which is message exchange pattern, service representation and description, in service discovery. They does not guarantee service interoperability among service discovery. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement CLAM (Component-based Autonomic Layered Middleware) agent platform to enable an efficient service discovery through extension of DF agent function in FIPA-compliant specification. Also, we propose an efficient service discovery mechanism using DHT-Chord algorithm to guarantee scalability and interoperability in DF agent.

This paper have proposed an object retrieval using the corners area variability based on correlogram. The proposed algorithm is processed as follows. First, the corner points of the object in an image are extracted and then the feature vectors are obtained. It are rearranged according to the number dimension and consist of sequence vectors. And the similarity based on the maximum of sequence vectors is measured. The proposed technique is invariant to the rotation or the transfer of the objects and more efficient in case that the objects present simple structure. In simulation that use Wang's database, the method presents that the recall property is improved by 0.03% and more than the standard corner patch histogram.
Display System Design for Signifying the Received Signals of the Mobile Phone

In this paper, we developed a phone call display system or "alimi" for displaying the received phone data at limited space that can not carry a mobile phone and and its validity was confirmed. It consists of a data communication application transmitting the phone data via bluetooth, a RF data repeater to extend the range of data communication, and a display system part for displaying the received phone data to the phone user. It has economy in terms of system installation because the implementation of the proposed system is simple and low cost installation is possible. As ordinary mobile phones users using the system can easily utilize it by downloading the application on the app. store, it has economy and convenience checking whether a call is received.
Interference Cancellation On-Channel Regenerative Repeater for the Single Frequency Network of ATSC Terrestrial Broadcasting

In this paper we consider technological requirements to broadcast digital television signals using single frequency networks(SFN) in the Advanced Television Systems Committee(ATSC) transmission systems and propose Interference Cancellation Digital On Channel Regenerative Repeater(IC-DOCR) thar overcomes the limitation of EDOCR(Equalization Digital On Channel Repeater) proposed by ETRI. The proposed IC-DOCR maintains the benefits of EDOCR that have good output signal quality removing multi-path, additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN). In additional, since the Interference Cancellation algorithm using the 8-VSB symbol demodulation of received signal removes the Interference of feedback signal, IC-DOCR improve the weakness of EDOCR that have low isolation between receive and transmit antenna so that can overcome the limitation of output signal power. we did analysis and verification of the proposed system performance using computational simulation.
Improvements of a Dynamic ID-Based Remote User Authentication Scheme

Recently, many user authentication schemes using smart cards have been proposed to improve the security weaknesses in user authentication process. In 2009, Wang et al. proposed a more effective and secure dynamic ID-based remote user authentication scheme to improve the security weakness of Das et al.'s scheme, and asserted that the improved scheme is secure against independent of password in authentication phase and provides mutual authentication between the user and the remote server. However, in this paper, we analyze the security of Wang et al. scheme and demonstrate that Wang et al.'s scheme is vulnerable to the man-in-the-middle attack and the off-line password guessing attack. In addition, we show that Wang et al. scheme also fails to provide mutual authentication. Accordingly, we propose an improved scheme to overcome these security weakness even if the secrete information stored in the smart card is revealed. Our proposed scheme can withstand the user impersonation attack, the server masquerading attack and off-line password guessing attack. Furthermore, this improved scheme provides the mutual authentication and is more effective than Wang et al.'s scheme in term of the computational complexities.
Implementation of Image Enhancement Using DSP Chip

In this paper, we proposed realtime image enhancing method on the three noise types of input images, such as haze, low contrast and back light images. Some conventional de-hazing algorithms have good performance but need large memories and high computational burdens. We proposed the efficient algorithm which not only removes the haze but also reduces memory usage and computational complexity. We implemented the realtime system by using DM6446 DSP chip, and it showed the excellent result in these three problems; haze, low contrast and back light. We implemented the system with the processing speed at 15 frames/sec.
Compensation of Skin Surface Temperature Variation on the PPG for the U-Healthcare System

This study aims to investigate statistical variations and relationships of blood pressure (BP), phtotplethysmography (PPG) and cardiovascular parameters on changes in local skin surface temperature (SST) during gradual cooling and heating. Results showed that local SST changes affected the Finometer BP, the PPG waveforms and total peripheral resistance, but not oscillometric BP, heart rate, stroke volume and cardiac output. Therefore, in order to reduce for the errors, temperatures should be controlled or compensated when components of the PPG waveform are used to evaluate cardiovascular status in temperature variation environments.
