Performance Comparison of the TR-UWB System Using Wavelet Pulse in Multiuser Environment

In this paper, the performance comparison of the TR-UWB System using Wavelet Pulse, DPSS pulse, and second Gaussian pulse in multi-user environment is analyzed. The data signal and the reference signal is sent with some time intervals in TR-UWB system. At this time the two signals are through the same channel. In the receiver the reference signal is used as a template. This advantage results in demodulation without channel estimation and low complexity of it. However the conventional TR-UWB system based on a Gaussian signal in a multi-user environment has the disadvantage of poor performance due to the interferences between the users. To overcome this disadvantage, DPSS (Discrete Prolate Shperoidal Sequence) is used to reduce the interferences between the users. We propose the system with multiresolution function of orthogonal wavelet reducing the interferences, which has a better performance in multi-user environment when they are sent in transmission side.
A VoIP Transcript System for Call Recording in IP Contact Center

In this paper we describe a VoIP transcript system which is able to record call conversation between counselor and customer in an IP contact center based on IP telephony environment. The transcript system, designed and implemented in this paper, uses packet sniffering to capture packets without imposing network overhead on overall system. It can decode H.323 and SIP which are used to setup call sessions in VoIP environment and captures voice data and record without any loss of contents. Implemented transcript system can be integrated with CTI system in that it can manage and record call more effectively. It is designed generically so that it is implemented both on Windows and Linux environment.
A Near Optimal Data Allocation Scheme for Multiple Broadcast-Channel Environments

Broadcast-based data dissemination has become a widely accepted approach of communication in the mobile computing environment. However, with a large set of data items, the expected delay of receiving a desired data increases due to the sequential nature of the broadcast channel. This paper explores the issue of designing proper data allocation on multiple broadcast channels to reduce this wait time, and proposes a new data allocation scheme named near optimal data allocation(NODA). The proposed scheme first partitions all data items in K group based on the theoretical lower-bound of the average expected delay to determine data items which each broadcast channel has to broadcast. Then, NODA further partitions each group of data items in B groups using extended dynamic programming algorithm to broadcast data items allocated on the same broadcast channel in different frequencies. The proposed scheme is capable of minimizing the average expected delay time since it can broadcast data items allocated on the same channel reflecting their popularities.
A RSS-Based Localization for Multiple Modes using Bayesian Compressive Sensing with Path-Loss Estimation

In Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)s, the detection of precise location of each node is essential for utilizing sensing data acquired from sensor nodes effectively. Among various location methods, the received signal strength(RSS) based localization scheme is mostly preferable in many applications because it can be easily implemented without any additional hardware cost. Since a RSS-based localization scheme is mainly affected by radio channel or obstacles such as building and mountain between two nodes, the localization error can be inevitable. To enhance the accuracy of localization in RSS-based localization scheme, a number of RSS measurements are needed, which results in the energy consumption. In this paper, a RSS based localization using Bayesian Compressive Sensing(BSS) with path-loss exponent estimation is proposed to improve the accuracy of localization in the energy-efficient way. In the propose scheme, we can increase the adaptative, reliability and accuracy of localization by estimating the path-loss exponents between nodes, and further we can enhance the energy efficiency by the compressive sensing. Through the simulation, it is shown that the proposed scheme can enhance the location accuracy of multiple unknown nodes with fewer RSS measurements and is robust against the channel variation.
Collaborative Wideband Spectrum Sensing with Distance Based Weight Combining for Cognitive Radio System

In this paper, we analysis wideband spectrum sensing with distance based weight combining for Cognitive Radio (CR) systems. CR systems is implemented the spectrum of the Primary User(PU) by using a energy detection method. Threshold is determined in accordance with the constant false alarm rate (CFAR) algorithm for energy detection. The signal of PU is BPSK signal and the wireless channel between a PU and CR systems is modeled as Gaussian channel. From the simulation results, the wideband sensing with distance based and Distance based weight Combing (DWC) methods shows higher spectrum sensing performance than single CR user spectrum sensing.

In the current wireless communication technology, the digital radio system replaces the analog radio broadcasting. Since the in-band digital radio systems are used in the existing analog radio frequency band, interference problems of digital radio are caused. It is important to effectively analyze the interference. In this paper, to analyze SINR and BEP (bit error probability) of digital radio system, we propose the analysis method considering angular effect. The angular effect means a method to analyze the interference when the receiver is located in different directions around the transmitter. These results are able to give basic information for the allocation of digital radio networks.
Mode Behavior of Circular Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser

The resonance properties of circular vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) are studied by using a newly developed equivalent network approach. Optical parameters, such as the stop-band or the reflectivity of periodic Bragg mirrors and the resonance wavelength, are explored for the design of these structures. To evaluate the differential quantum efficiency and the threshold current density, a transverse resonance condition of circular modal transmission-line theory is also utilized. This approach dramatically reduces the computational time as well as gives an explicit insight to explore the optical characteristics of circular VCSELs.
An Extended TIP Technique for Android Platform

TIP technology enables navigation of the internal contents of images by extracting geometry information from two-dimensional drawing or a picture and generating three-dimensional effects from extracted information. The technology can be applied to a variety of practical fields including game, entertainment, education, public relations and so on. This paper proposes extended application of TIP technology and realization method for smart devices using OpenGL ES Library for Android platform. Considering problems associated with a foreground object extraction, the proposed method uses vanishing points chosen by the user to facilitate more realistic scene configuration. Then, method acquires three-dimensional background model using OpenGL ES Library, develops three-dimensional virtual space and enables image navigation via camera viewpoint conversion. The experimental image is made on Android 2.1 and OpenGL ES 1.0 using the image taken on devices built on the Android platform. Thus, the proposed technology can be implemented to various smart devices built on the Android platform at lower cost and in less time.
A Study on Enhancement of Digital Image Performance Using Dual Tree Wavelet Transformation in Non-separable Image Processing

In this paper, we explore the application of 2-D dual-tree discrete wavelet transform (DDWT), which is a directional and redundant transform, for image coding. DDWT introduces limited redundancy and allows the transform to provide approximate shift invariance and directionally selective filters while preserving the usual properties of perfect reconstruction and computational efficiency with good well-balanced frequency responses. Also, quincunx lattice yields a non separable 2D-wavelet transform, which is also symmetric in both horizontal and vertical direction. And non-separable wavelet transformation can generate sub-images of multiple degrees rotated versions. The proposed 2-D non-separable DDWT can provide efficient approximation for directional features of images schemes, such as edges and contours in images that are not aligned with the horizontal or vertical direction. Finally, non-separable image processing using DDWT services good performance.
Road Extraction by the Orientation Perception of the Isolated Connected-Components

Road identification is the important task for extracting a road region from the high-resolution satellite images, when the road candidates is extracted by the pre-processing tasks using a binarization, noise removal, and color processing. Therefore, we propose a noble approach for identifying a road using the orientation-selective spatial filters, which is motivated by a computational model of neuron cells found in the primary visual cortex. In our approach, after the neuron cell typed spatial filters is applied to the isolated connected-labeling road candidate regions, proposed method identifies the region of perceiving the strong orientation feature with the real road region. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, the accuracy&error ratio in the confusion matrix was measured from road candidates including road and non-road class. As a result, the proposed method shows the more than 92% accuracy.
A Study of Security Weaknesses of QR Codes and Its Countermeasures

Recently, due to widespread use of smartphones, the number of applications of the QR code is increased rapidly. QR codes, a kind of 2-dimensional barcode, is used to encode information such as simple URLs or namecards, especially for corporates' advertisement. Users can get some information easily by taking picture of the target QR code, however, fake or altered QR codes can cause serious problems, e.g., URL hijacking or infringement of private information because no one can identify the buried information in the QR code by his naked eye. In this paper, I summarize threats to the QR code and present how to tackle these threats.

Ad-hoc networks can be used various environment, which it is difficult to construct infrastructures, such as shadowing areas, disaster areas, war area, and so on. In order to support to considerable and various wireless services, more spectrum resources are needed. However, efficient utilization of the frequency resource is difficult because of spectrum scarcity and the conventional frequency regulation. Ad-hoc networks employing cognitive radio (CR) system that guarantee high spectrum utilization provide effective way to increase the network capacity. In CR based wireless ad-hoc networks, cluster-head decides the existence of primary user using sensing information of primary user from each ad-hoc device. However, it is still defective research to decide cluster head among the a lot of ad-hoc devices. So, in this paper, we show the decision method of cluster head in CR based wireless and detection probabilities of primary user based on decision method of cluster head.

The Internet is becoming increasingly diverse and complex, the needs of user's convenience is also various and increased. The task forces have been working on how to design the future Internet in satisfaction of user's require and mobility management is one of the key issues to be considered. mobility management in the future Internet is still being designed in an "all-in-one" way where all management functions are tightly kept at a single location and this results in cost inefficiency that can be an obstruction to constructing flexible systems. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective function-distributed mobility management scheme that can enable more flexible future Internet construction. Furthermore, we show the effectiveness of our proposed system via a cost analysis and computer simulation with a random walk mobility model.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is aimed to implement IT(Information Technology) to develop the next-generation transportation system in order to improve traffic conditions. In order to provide traffic information, the methods that provide available traffic informations to the public are needed. In this paper, analysis of the transportation applications in smart-phone and currently available methods of traffic information's sharing and providing were discussed. Finally, OPEN API was discussed and shows its effectiveness for transportation information area especially in smart phone.
A Study on Frequency Response in LED-LED Communication

In this paper, we demonstrate that indoor wireless optical communication is possible with lighting LEDs without a photo diode or a solar cell. A LED is used for both light emitting and light signal detection. This scheme is very useful because transmission is possible without any additional communication systems. In experiments, wireless optical communication will be carried out at a higher signal frequency of 5MHz using a lighting LEDs with both light emitting and light detection characteristics in the future.
Generating Test Data for Programs with Flag Variables using Goal-oriented Concolic Testing

This paper presents a goal-oriented test data generation technique that specializes concolic testing. The proposed technique, referred to as GCT (Goal-oriented Concolic Testing) produces test inputs which execute a specific target. Concolic testing can be seen as the brute force approach to search the space of all possible paths until a required test input is found. In contrast, GCT restricts the number of program paths that are explored by using data flow information to identify statements that should be executed beforehand in order for the target to be executed. We conducted experiments to evaluate the performance of GCT with programs with flag variables to show its effectiveness.
A Point-to-Point Shortest Path Algorithm Based on Level Node Selection

This paper suggests an algorithm that can shorten the complexity
of Dijkstra algorithm that is applied to the shortest path searching in real-time GPS Navigation System into an up-to-date O(n). Dijkstra algorithm manipulates the distance of the minimum length path by visiting all the nodes from the starting node. Hence, it has one disadvantage of not being able to provide the information on the shortest path every second, in a city that consists of sophisticated roads, since it has to execute number of node minus 1. The suggested algorithm, firstly, runs by means of organizing the set of out-neighbourhood nodes at each level of the tree, and root node for departure node. It also uses a method of manipulating the distance of the minimum path of all out-neighborhoods and interior of the out-neighborhoods. On applying the suggested algorithm to two sophisticated graphs consisted of bi-direction and uni-direction, we have succeeded to obtain the distance of the minimum length path, just as same as Dijkstra algorithm. In addition, it has an effect of shortening the time taken 4 times from number of node minus1 to number of level minus 1. The satisfaction of the drivers can be increased by providing the information on shortest path of detour, every second, when occurs any rush hour or any traffic congestion due to car accident, by applying this suggested algorithm to the real-time GPS system.
A Critical Path Search and The Project Activities Scheduling

This paper suggests a critical path search algorithm that can easily draw PERT/GANTT chart which manages and plans a project schedule. In order to evaluate a critical path that determines the project schedule, Critical Path Method (CPM) is generally utilized. However, CPM undergoes 5 stages to calculate the critical path for a network diagram that is previously designed according to correlative relationship and execution period of project execution activities. And it may not correctly evaluate
(The Earliest Time), since it does not suggest the way how to determine the sequence of the nodes activities that calculate the
. Also, the sequence of the network diagram activities obtained from CPM cannot be visually represented, and hence Lucko suggested an algorithm which undergoes 9 stages. On the other hand, the suggested algorithm, first of all, decides the sequence in advance, by reallocating the nodes into levels after Breadth-First Search of the network diagram that is previously designed. Next, it randomly chooses nodes of each level and immediately determines the critical path only after calculation of
. Finally, it enables the representation of the execution sequence of the project activity to be seen precisely visual by means of a small movement of
of the nodes that are not belonging to the critical path, on basis of the
of the nodes which belong to the critical path. The suggested algorithm has been proved its applicability to 10 real project data. It is able to get the critical path from all the projects, and precisely and visually represented the execution sequence of the activities. Also, this has advantages of, firstly, reducing 5 stages of CPM into 1, simplifying Lucko's 9 stages into 2 stages that are used to clearly express the execution sequence of the activities, and directly converting the representation into PERT/GANTT chart.
A Study on Statistical Approach for Nonlinear Image Denoising Algorithms

In this paper robust nonlinear image denoising algorithms are introduced for the distribution which is Gaussian in the center and Laplacian in the tails. The distribution is known as the least favorable
-contaminated normal distribution that maximizes the asymptotic variance. The proposed filter proves to be the maximum likelihood estimator under the heavy-tailed Gaussian noise environments. It is optimal in the respect of maximizing the efficacy under the above noise environment. Another filter for reducing impulsive noise is proposed by mixing with the myriad filter to propose an amplitude-limited myriad filter. Extensive experiment is conducted with images corrupted with
-stable noise to analyze the behavior and performance of the proposed filters.
Video Player for Online SVC Stream in Android Platform

This paper introduces an implementation of SVC player which runs on Android platform and can play SVC video stream on line from SVC video server. SVC(Scalable Video Coding) is a scalable video encoding technique which supports three scalability such as temporal scalability, spatial scalability, and quality scalability. To implement the SVC player on Android, we implemented a SVC decoder using JSVM open source written in C/C++ as a native part on Android and developed Android UI in Java. Also we built an SVC encoding system off line and an SVC streaming server to conduct on-line SVC streaming experiments. Finally, after we installed the SVC player developed in this paper on Motoroi mobile phone, we evaluated and analyzed on-line streaming performance of the SVC player. The result showed that the player worked well and it had no jitter in streaming with the size of QCIF and 10fps from a fully encoded SVC video source.

Integrated-optic asymmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometer at
wavelength and segmented electrode structure were designed and fabricated as a sensing part for the electric-field measurement system. The device was simulated based on the BPM software and fabricated utilizing Ti-diffused
channel optical waveguides and lumped-type electrodes. Almost half-maximum power transmission was observed for asymmetric interferometers with

In this study, cavity filter performing BPF function in Korea T-DMB system was designed by using of HFSS simulation tool, and we compared measured results with the simulated data. By simulation of HFSS that is magnetic and electric 3D simulating tool, we can save time and money maximumly by checking performances before actual filter implementation. Optimum conditions for the cavity filter were delivered based on the cylindrical waveguide characteristics. Measured results by implementation were compared with the simulation data.
LED Communication-based PC-PC Transmission System

LED is just a semiconductor which can produce light. Currently, there are active research works on LED lighting technologies according to the growth of energy-saving environmental industry. Especially, LED communication is one of the active research works in these fields. In this paper, we design a LED communication-based PC-PC transmission system. A transmission circuit system(transmitter) using LED and a receiving circuit system(receiver) using PD(photo detector) and Op-amp are designed, respectively. The experiments for the designed system are performed as follows. One computer is connected at the end of transmitter and receiver, respectively, and text files are transmitted by using text transmission programming. In this experiment, we test the performance with various baud rates, LED colors, transmission ranges.
A Study on Co-existence between DTV Transmitter and LTE Base Station according to DTV Transition

This paper is about frequency allocation of LTE Base Station(BS) in the spare band which is generated by DTV transition. In the case of frequency allocation of LTE BS in adjacent band with DTV channel 51 among the spare band, the guard bands that requires for no interference between LTE and DTV system were calculated. As a result, 5.5 MHz of guard band for LTE BS and 2 MHz of guard band for DTV receiver were suggested based on interference analysis between LTE BS and DTV BS, respectively.
Tracking Performance Improvement of the Double-Talk Robust Algorithm for Network Echo Cancellation

We present a new algorithm which can improve the tracking performance of the double-talk robust algorithm. A detection method of the echo path change and a modification method for the update equation of the conventional adaptive filter are proposed. A duration of the high error signal to scale parameter ratio varies according to the call status and this property is used to detect the echo path change. The proposed update equation of the adaptive filter improves the tracking performance by prohibiting wrong selection of the error signal. Simulations using real speech signals and echo paths of the ITU-T G.168 standard confirmed that as compared to the conventional algorithm, the proposed algorithm improved the tracking performance by more than 4 dB.

PMIPv6 is mobility support system from single domain, it actual network is composed with nested in a multiple domain structural system. The proposed technique in the domain of two or more, the LMA(Local Mobility Anchor) communication between LMA(Local Mobility Anchor) and MAG(Mobile Access Gateway) of movable domain can increase performance by handover delay and signaling.

Control Theory for continuous-time system has been well developed. Due to the development of computer technology, digital control scheme are employed in many areas. When delays are in control systems, it is hard to control the system efficiently. Delays by controller-to-actuator and sensor-to-controller deteriorate control performance and could possibly destabilize the overall system. In this paper, a new approximated discretization method and digital design for control systems with multiple state, input and output delays and a generalized bilinear transformation method with a tunable parameter are also provided, which can re-transform the integer time-delayed discrete-time model to its continuous-time model. Illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed method.

Time synchronization problems is very important in everyday life and a variety of industries, In this paper, we developed PLB(Power Line Broadcasting) system which broadcast time information to each device through power line modems. In our system, the smartphone synchronized to GPS time is used as a time source and we propose, develop and evaluate a relay system to solve the difficulties of long-distance transmission of power line modem technology.

The opinion mining is that to use the existing data mining technology also uploaded blog to web, to use product comment, the opinion mining can extract the author's opinion therefore it not judge text's subject, only judge subject's emotion. In this paper, published opinion mining algorithms and the text using speech recognition API for non-voice data to judge the emotions suggested. The system is open and the Subject associated with Google Voice Recognition API sunwihwa algorithm, the algorithm determines the polarity through improved design, based on this interview, speech recognition, which implements the model.

In 2011, Das proposed an effective biometrics-based remote user authentication scheme using smart cards that can provide strong authentication and mutual authentication, while eliminating the security drawbacks of Li-Hwang's scheme. In this paper, we have shown that Das's scheme is still insecure against several attacks and does not provide mutual authentication. Also, we proposed the enhanced scheme to overcome these security weaknesses, even if the secret information stored in the smart card is revealed. As a result of security analysis, the enhanced scheme is secure against user impersonation attack, server masquerading attack, off-line password guessing attack, and insider attack. And we can see that the enhanced scheme provides mutual authentication between the user and the server.

This paper proposes a electric resistor sensor to measure soil moisture. The soil moisture sensor uses resistance to measure the water content of soil. The main idea is the resistance between the sensor probes can vary according to the water content of soil. Then the resistance difference can be converted to the electrical signal. This sensor is very simple and cheap. In this paper several sensors are connected in serial and composed a sensor network. This sensor network is adopted in IMS(Internet Management System) and demonstrated.
Improvement of the Characteristics of PZT Thin Films deposited on LTCC Substrates

In this paper, the optimized growing conditions of PZT thin films on low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) substrates are studied. The LTCC technology is an emerging one in the fields of mesoscale (from 10 um to several hundred um) sensor and actuator against silicon based technology due to low cost, high yield, easy manufacturing of 3 dimensional structure, etc. The LTCC substrates with thickness of 400 um are fabricated by laminating 100 um green sheets using commercial power (NEG, MLS 22C). The Pt/Ti bottom electrodes are deposited on the LTCC substrates, then the growing conditions of PZT thin films using rf magnetron sputtering method are studied. The growing conditions are tested under various rf power and gas ratio of oxygen to argon. And the crystallization and ingredient of PZT films are analyzed by X-ray diffraction method (XRD) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The optimized growing conditions of PZT thin films are rf power of 125W, Ar/O2 gas ratio of 15:5.

ePUB is one of the most pervasive eBook formats since it was announced as a 2009 standard in IDPF(International Digital Publishing Forum). ePUB is compressed as a ZIP Archive format and structured as a standard format of OCF. Domestically and internationally, eBook services applying DRM into ePUB have currently been active, while it does not satisfy various needs from business because it does not support preview service which is due to the encryption of the whole ePUB as a single key. This study suggests a way to apply diverse business models by providing eBook content based on ePUB multiple key encryption method, not by encrypting it simply as a single key. The encryption method which applies a multiple key encryption method is suggested as a practically appliable form together with licence issuing and delivery method and decryption method in eBook readers. The multiple key encryption method suggested in this study will make it possible to support partial preview services of ePUB based eBook content. It will be applied to diverse service models and enhance the security level better then single key based encryption method.

The development of mobile devices and the spread of wireless network help share and exchange information and resources more easily. The bond them to Cloud Computing technology help pay attention to "Mobile Cloud" service, so there have been being a lot of studies on "Mobile Cloud" service. Especially, the important of 'Recommendation Service' which is customized for each user's preference and context has been increasing. In order to provide appropriate recommendation services, it enables to recognize user's current state, analyze the user's profile like user's tendency and preference, and draw the service answering the user's request. Most existing frameworks, however, are not very suitable for mobile devices because they were proposed on the web-based. And other context information except location information among user's context information are not much considered. Therefore, this paper proposed the context-aware framework, which provides more suitable services by using user's context and profile.

It is essential to have Context-aware technology for personalization recommendation services and the appropriate representation and definition of Context information for context-aware. Ontology is possible to represent knowledge freely and knowledge can be extended by inferring. In addition, design of the ontology model is needed according to the purposes of utilization. This paper used context-aware technologies to implement a user personalization recommendation service. It also proposed the context through OWL modeling for user personalization recommendation service and used inference rules and inference engine for context reasoning.
Virtual Topology Control System for Evaluating Semi-infrastructured Wireless Community Networks

Community network is a communication environment where heterogeneous devices can access and communicate with each other at any time and at any space to share information. To do so, mobile devices are required to be self-configured even in absence of communication infrastructures. Semi-infrastructured wireless ad-hoc network is a promising solution to meet with such a requirement. This paper proposes the VTC(virtual topology coordinator) system as an evaluation tool for examining network protocols that are intended to be deployed in the semi-infrastructured ad-hoc networks. VTC emulates multi-hops wireless network topology virtually using a mechanism of selective receiving MAC frame in a small area, where only a single hop communication is available. VTC system cannot consider all properties introduced in real wireless network, but do more wireless properties than verification through simulation.

Recently increasing usage of smart phones so, the application field of convergence industry between IT technology using smart phone-based mobile communication networks and other industry branches is expanding. In addition, R&D technologies in other fields are applied to smart phone applications effectively in order to develop products and support daily life more convenient. However, it is very hard to control these products and there is no efficient solution for this problem when many people are sent to specific area for big events, such as Biennale, Film Festival, EXPO, and so on. In order to solve this problem, this paper describes a network-based ticket reservation system and its organization using augmented reality on smart phone and mobile communication networks. In particular, we propose a method of designing and developing prototyping system based on smart phone application design technologies, prior to developing real smart phone application.
