In the next generation of mobile communication systems, high data rates and high capacity will be possible if multiple antennas are used at new frequencies. This paper presents the correlations between channel parameter path loss (PL), delay spread (DS), angular spread (AS) and K-factor established based on channel measurements. To avoid interference from Korean DTV broadcasting, we measured the channel characteristics in urban/rural/suburban areas on Jeju Island using a channel sounder and
antennas. The correlations between channel parameter show that the wireless channel characteristics can be determined and effective communication system design can be produced for use in similar environments.
Effects of Link Failures on Performance of Packet Scatter Schemes in Fat-Trees

Most of recent studies on data center networks are based on the assumption of symmetrical multi-rooted tree topologies such as a Fat-Tree. While packet scatter schemes are very effective for such a network topology, it is known that various failures can result in an asymmetric topology which degrades TCP performance. In this paper, we reexamine the effects of link failures on packet scatter schemes in Fat-Trees. Our simulation results show that in case of a single link failure in a large-scale Fat-Tree, packet reordering does not occur enough to degrade TCP performance. This implies that we do not necessarily need a complex scheme to make packet schemes robust to link failures.
A Multi-hop Cooperative Transmission Protocol in Mobile Ad-hoc Wireless Networks

In this paper, we propose a multi-hop cooperative transmission protocol over Rayleigh fading channels. In the proposed protocol, the multi-hop cooperative transmission is used to improve the system performance. Due to broadcast nature, we do not limit the receiving node to be only the next node, but the destination and all the nodes between the transmitting node and the destination. The proposed protocol can hence save the average transmit power, compared with multi-hop direct transmission protocol due to the skipped transmissions from some intermediate nodes or chosen relays. The proposed scheme is implemented and evaluated in mobile ad-hoc wireless networks.
Simple Bidirectional Transmission Protocols Cooperative Transmission using Network Coding and Digital Fountain Codes

In this paper, we propose a simple bidirectional transmission protocol using network coding and digital Fountain codes. In particular, in the proposed scheme, two sources use digital Fountain codes to transmit their message to each other with the help of relays. Then, relays use Fountain codes and network coding to forward the source messages to both sources. To evaluate performance of the proposed protocols, we present the average total throughput over Rayleigh fading channels via Various Monte-Carlo simulations. Results show that the proposed protocol outperforms the two-way relaying transmission protocol without using network coding technique at high SNR region.
Reduction Method of Network Bandwidth Requirement for the Scalability of Multiplayer Game Server Systems

Multiplayer games typically organized based on a client-server(CS) or peer-to-peer(PP) architecture. The CS architecture is not scalable with the number of players due to a large bandwidth requirement at the server. The PP architecture, on the other hand, introduces significant overhead for the players, as each player needs to check the consistency between its local state and the state of all other players. We then propose a method that combines the merits of CS and PP. In this method, players exchange updates with lower priority in a peer-to-peer manner but communicate directly with a central server for the other updates. As a result, the proposed method has a lower network bandwidth requirement than the server of a CS architecture and the server bandwidth bottleneck is removed. For another important issue about multiplayer games, this method always maintains state consistency among players correctly. The performance of this method is evaluated through extensive simulation experiments and analysis.
A Cooperative Spectrum Sensing Method based on Eigenvalue and Superposition for Cognitive Radio Networks

Cooperative spectrum sensing can improve sensing reliability, compared with single node spectrum sensing. In addition, Eigenvalue-based spectrum sensing has also drawn a great attention due to its performance improvement over the energy detection method in which the more smoothing factor, the better performance is achieved. However, the more smoothing factor in Eignevalue-based spectrum sensing requires the more sensing time. Furthermore, more reporting time in cooperative sensing will be required as the number of nodes increases. Subsequently, we in this paper propose an Eigenvalue and superposition-based spectrum sensing where the reporting time is utilized so as to increase the number of smoothing factors for autocorrelation calculation. Simulation result demonstrates that the proposed scheme has better detection probability in both local as well as global detection while requiring less sensing time as compared with conventional Eigenvalue-based detection scheme.

Nowadays, Advanced country have devised a plan energy-saving through lighting effectiveness and increasing performance of lighting control system. If it uses the LED as a source of light then conserve electricity by 50%. This paper implement LEMS(Lighting Energy Management System) that applicate and Smart Dimmer and Smart Switch that control the digital LED light, support wired-wireless communication using USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network). This system of validity and reliability control special purpose lamp including indoor and outdoor lighting and landscape lighting effectively. It minimize the use of indoor and outdoor lighting energy by USN remote integral control function of Digital System Lighting of LED and increase effectiveness of energy and is a collaborative system that can feedback the use of electricity by measurement itself through Web and Switch.
Data Visualization Design of Bus Information Terminal using Smart Client Platform

Smart client is a term describing an application environment which delivers applications over a web HTTP connection and does not require installation and/or updates. The term "Smart Client" is meant to refer to simultaneously capturing the benefits of a "thin client" (zero-install, auto-update) and a "fat client" (high performance, high productivity). A "Smart Client" application can be created in several very different technologies. Over the past few years, ITS has started to move towards smart clients, also called rich clients. The trend is a move from traditional client/server architecture to a Web-based model. More similar to a fat client vs. a thin client, smart clients are Internet-connected devices that allows a user's local applications to interact with server-based applications through the use of Web services. Smart Client applications in BIT bridge the gap between web applications and desktop applications. They provide the benefits of a web applicationwhile still providing the snappy look and feel inherent to desktop applications.

The central core of the Traffic Management System is an Incident Management System. Whole approach has been component-orientated, with a secondary emphasis being placed on the traffic characteristics at the sites. The first action taken during the development process was the selection of the required data for each components within the existing infrastructure of Algeria freeway system. After review and analysis of existing incident detection methodologies, Paramics was utilized to test the performance of APID, DELOS algorithms. The existing system of Algeria freeway was tested in a different configuration at different sections of freeway, thereby increasing the validity and scope of the overall findings. The incident detection module has been performed according to predefined system validation specifications. The Paramics simulation was done with the use of synchronous analysis, thereby providing a means for testing the incident detection module.
Performance of VSCA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm for 16-QAM Signal

This paper relates with the performance of VSCA adaptive equalization algorithm that is used for the minimization of the intersymbol interference due to the distortion which occurs in the time dispersive channel for the transmission of 16-QAM signal. In the conventional SCA, it is possible to compensates the amplitude and phase in the received signal that are mixed with the intersymbol interference by the constellatin dependent constant by using the 2nd order statistics of the transmitted signal. But in the VSCA, it is possible to the increase the equalization performance by adding the concept of distance adjusted approach for constellation matching. We compare the performance of VSCA and SCA algorithm by computer simulation. For this, the equalizer output signal constellation, residual isi, maximum distortion and MSE were used for perfomance comparison. It was confirmed that, the VSCA algorithm has better than the SCA in every performance index by computer simulation.

We presents a novel (2, 2) secret sharing (SS) scheme for all grayscale images. Generally, a secret image is distribute more than two shadow images, which are dealt out among participants. In order to find out secret image, participants print shadow images to transparent papers. Then, a secret image will appear as stacking transparent papers. The secret sharing scheme in this paper distribute secret image into natural grayscale images using multiplexer and data hiding scheme. After then, two participant have two shadow images respectively. The merit of the proposed scheme is that shadow images have small loss in aspect of the quality with steganographic features. Therefore, the proposed secret sharing scheme in this paper is not easily detected by attackers. The experiment result verified that the proposed scheme, obviously outperforms previous SS schemes.
Performance Improvement of MSAGF-MMA Adaptive Blind Equalization Using Multiple Step-Size LMS

An adaptive blind equalization is a technique using to minimize the Inter-symbol Interference occurred on a communication channel in the transmission of the high speed digital data. In this paper, we propose a blind equalization more improving performance of the conventional MSAGF-MMA adaptive blind equalization algorithm by applying a multiple step size. This algorithm apply a LMS algorithm with a several step size according to each region divided by absolute values of decision-directed error to MSAGF-MMA. By computer simulation, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithm has a performance highly enhanced in terms of a convergence speed, a residual ISI and a residual error and an ensemble averaged MSE in a steady status compared with MMA and MSAGF-MMA.
Implement of Finger-Gesture Remote Controller using the Moving Direction Recognition of Single

A finger-gesture remote controller using the single camera is implemented in this paper, which is base on the recognition of finger number and finger moving direction. Proposed method uses the transformed YCbCr color-difference information to extract the hand region effectively. The number and position of finger are computer by using a double circle tracing method. Specially, a user continuous-command can be performed repeatedly by recognizing the finger-gesture direction of single shape. The position information of finger enables a user command to amplify a same command in the User eXperience. Also, all processing tasks are implemented by using the Intel OpenCV library and C++ language. In order to evaluate the performance of the our proposed method, after applying to the commercial video player software as a remote controller. As a result, the proposed method showed the average 89% recognition ratio by the user command-mode.
Cost-Schedule Tradeoff in Software Project

Generally, software development schedule compression is decided within 75% of nominal schedule. However, there are some difficulties when we judge the possibility of development schedule compression because a nominal schedule has not been definitely. Therefore, this paper investigates various nominal schedule estimation models and decides the optimum range. Basing on the performance of ISBSG Release 8,614 projects are extracted from the actual 1,595 projects. We presented development effort estimation model from those data. Also, we derived the development schedule model from the development effort. When you apply the proposed model, you will be able to estimate development effort and schedule required for the development more actually.
Minimum Spanning Tree with Select-and-Delete Algorithm

This algorithm suggests a method in which a minimum spanning tree can be obtained fast by reducing the number of an algorithm execution. The suggested algorithm performs a select-and-delete process. In the select process, firstly, it performs Borůvka's first stage for all the vertices of a graph. Then it re-performs Borůvka's first stage for specific vertices and reduces the population of the edges. In the delete process, it deletes the maximum weight edge if any cycle occurs between the 3 edges of the edges with the reduced population. After, among the remaining edges, applying the valency concept, it gets rid of maximum weight edges. Finally, it eliminates the maximum weight edges if a cycle happens among the vertices with a big valency. The select-and-delete algorithm was applied to 9 various graphs and was evaluated its applicability. The suggested select process is believed to be the vest way to choose the edges, since it showed that it chose less number of big edges from 6 graphs, and only from 3 graphs, comparing to the number of edges that is to be performed when using MST algorithm. When applied the delete process to Kruskal algorithm, the number of performances by Kruskal was less in 6 graphs, but 1 more in each 3 graph. Also, when using the suggested delete process, 1 graph performed only the 1st stage, 5 graphs till 2nd stage, and the remaining till 3rd stage. Finally, the select-and-delete algorithm showed its least number of performances among the MST algorithms.
Efficient Retrieval of Short Opinion Documents Using Learning to Rank

Recently, as Social Network Services(SNS), such as Twitter, Facebook, are becoming more popular, much research has been doing on opinion mining. However, current related researches are mostly focused on sentiment classification or feature selection, but there were few studies about opinion document retrieval. In this paper, we propose a new retrieval method of short opinion documents. Proposed method utilizes previous sentiment classification methodology, and applies several features of documents for evaluating the quality of the opinion documents. For generating the retrieval model, we adopt Learning-to-rank technique and integrate sentiment classification model to Learning-to-rank. Experimental results show that proposed method can be applied successfully in opinion search.
Performance Comparison of the CCA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm based on Compact Slice Weighting Values in 16-QAM Signal

This paper compare the performance of CCA (Compact Constellation Algorithm) adaptive equalization algorithm by effect of the compact slice weighting value for minimization of the intersymbol interference in the communication channel. The CCA combines the conventional DDA and RCA algorithm, it uses the constant modulus of the transmission signal and the considering the output of decision device by the power of compact slice weighting value in order to improving the initial convergence characteristics and the equalization noise by misadjustment in the steady state. In this process, it is confirmed by computer simulation that the compact slice weight affects the performance of CCA adaptive equalization algorithm. The performance index includes the output signal constellation, the residual isi and maximum distortion and MSE that is for the convergence characteristics, the SER according to the signal and noise power ratio at the channel is used. As a result of computer, it shows that the large weighting value gives more good in every performance index. But in SER performance, it is known that the small values gives more good in low SNR and the large values gives more good in high SNR.

Performance Improvement of Web Document Classification through Incorporation of Feature Selection and Weighting

Automated classification systems which utilize machine learning develops classification models through learning process, and then classify unknown data into predefined set of categories according to the model. The performance of machine learning-based classification systems relies greatly upon the quality of features composing classification models. For textual data, we can use their word terms and structure information in order to generate the set of features. Particularly, in order to extract feature from Web documents, we need to analyze tag and hyperlink information. Recent studies on Web document classification focus on feature engineering technology other than machine learning algorithms themselves. Thus this paper proposes a novel method of incorporating feature selection and weighting which can improves classification models effectively. Through extensive experiments using Web-KB document collections, the proposed method outperforms conventional ones.
Design of Measurement Algoritms in the Smart CamRuler

With a rapid growth of smartphone technologies, various applications are developed and diffused actively nowadays. Especially, interesting applications using camera module in a smartphone are developed continuously, mobile users are able to use various useful mobile services in humdrum life. In this paper, we design and implement measurement algorithms which precisely measure the object taken by the camera module in a smartphone. We use 3-axis gyro accelerometer sensor in a smartphone to get the distance, incline and rotation angle in a real time when we take a picture of shooting object and can obtain precise size of it in the picture image. The measurement algorithms proposed in this paper are analyzed and evaluated by a simulation study.

The development of the latest media technology has changed the traditional broadcasting system. The traditional broadcasting system, which was operated by the mass media and the terrestrial broadcasters, is now transformed to the viewer-centered and bidirectional media through the convergence of internet and mobile. In terms of broadcasting environment, the function of the traditional TVs has been changed to the Smart TVs combined with an open platform which not only deliver visual contents, but also supply various applications and additional information linking the content providers and viewers. This ongoing broadcasting environmental change has made it possible for viewers to participate in the programs such as reality shows or sports events through SNS, texting or phone calls. Therefore, the purpose of this experiment is to present the ways to promote easier and more convenient viewer-participation in the programs by applying mobile messenger to existing broadcasting system in order to enhance the involvement of broadcasters and viewers of the programs and to diversify the roles of content providers and viewers in broadcasting.
A Design of Serious Game for English Words Study

A serious game is to design for not amusement but special aim. It can be defined of the game which have various useful aspects. It is a different game which exists important the proper function through interactive action compared to general games. English education games have a goal which is the English Study in addition to amusement. It's important one which is to have an immersiveness to be accomplished studying through games for users. In this paper, an effective analysis and design method of serious game using UML, that is Objected Oriented Analysis and Design Method, and Storyboard to develop a serious game "Guessing correctly english words over playing joyfully" is presented.
Performance Study of Multicore Digital Signal Processor Architectures

Due to the demand for high speed 3D graphic rendering, video file format conversion, compression, encryption and decryption technologies, the importance of digital signal processor system is growing rapidly. In order to satisfy the real-time constraints, high performance digital signal processor is required. Therefore, as in general purpose computer systems, digital signal processor should be designed as multicore architecture as well. Using UTDSP benchmarks as input, the trace-driven simulation has been performed and analyzed for the 2 to 16-core digital signal processor architectures with the cores from simple RISC to in-order and out-of-order superscalar processors for the various window sizes, extensively.
Quincunx Sampling Method for Performance Improvement of 2D High-Density Wavelet Transformation

The quincunx lattice is a non-separable sampling method in image processing. It treats the different directions more homogeneously and good frequency property than the separable two dimensional schemes. The high density discrete wavelet transformation is one that expands an N point signal to M transform coefficients with M > N. In two dimensions, this transform outperforms the standard discrete wavelet transformation in terms of shift-invariant. Although the transformation utilizes more wavelets, sampling rates are high costs. This paper proposed the high density discrete wavelet transform using quincunx sampling, which is a discrete wavelet transformation that combines the high density discrete transformation and non-separable processing method, each of which has its own characteristics and advantages. Proposed wavelet transformation can service good performance in image processing fields.
Performance of Network Coding with Best Relay Selection in Fading Channels

Recently, network coding has been actively studied to increase the spectral efficiency of two-way relay wireless channels such as cellular systems as well as broadcasting systems. In this paper, we derive the average transmission capacity and the outage probability of a network coding system, which utilizes two-way data transmission via the best relay rather than multiple relays. Since the data unbalance between the forward and the reverse link in two-way communication systems exists, we include the asymmetric link as well as the symmetric link in the analysis. It is noticed that the space diversity gain increases as the increase of the number of relays. Also we obtain 11.4 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain with 9 relays compared to that with single relay in symmetrical link at the given conditions. In asymmetrical links, we denotes that the outage probability is more sensitive to the number of relays rather than data unbalance between the links.
Design of An Open-Ended Coaxial Cavity Resonator

This paper is a study of an empirical design of an open-ended coaxial cavity resonator. It can be done by using the radius of the inner conductor, the inner radius and the length of the resonator. However, the basic coaxial transmission -line theory can be seen that the characteristics of the resonant frequency and the Q value are varied by the change of length, regardless of the value of radius of the inner conductor and inner radius of the resonator. We find out the impact of radius of the inner conductor, inner radius of the resonator and the length of the resonator parameter and propose the optimized empirical resonator design method by reducing the error between the theoretical value and the design value. Based on the simulation, several resonators are fabricated by the size of 14 mm for the radius of inner conductor, 2 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm respectively for the inner radius of resonator, and 8.5 mm for the length of the resonator. The resonant frequencies of the produced resonators were measured at 6.1, 5.7, 6.5 GHz respectively. According to the result of simulation and measurement, we know that we can design the relatively exact open-ended coaxial cavity resonator by applying the basic coaxial transmission-line theory directly when the length of the resonator is less than 10 mm, and adding the correction factor of 0.5 GHz to the calculated resonant frequency in case of more than 10 mm of the length of the resonator.

If a human is taken with a disease, the electric resistance of the diseased part is higher than the surrounding area. The inherent current of the human body does not flow well in the diseased part due to high electric resistance. In this paper, we simulated the process to calculate the exact time of electronic acupuncture suitable for patient's physical condition using fuzzy logic and inference. Moreover, In this paper, It utilizes fuzzy logic and fuzzy inference rule to estimate the proper treatment duration for each patient. Physical condition, related disease, and age effects are studied for electronic acupuncture.

Recently, death number of heart attack in the world is increasing rapidly. Therefore, to solve these problem, it is trend that is making mandatory automatic defibrillator AED establishment to airport, school, at home. However, AED use in an emergency or equipment failure caused malfunctions if equipped with AED may even become obsolete. In this paper, in order to improve this problem, AED Simulator using the fuzzy simulation technique in comparison to existing methods Tilt ambient temperature conditions and in consideration of the conditions, self-diagnostics, error detection at the time to determine whether the development of intelligent simulation. Moreover, in this paper, it proved that fuzzy AED Simulation improved fault detection probability results 30% more than conventional method.

In this paper, zero-energy house in order to monitor the energy savings come with Zigbee communication temperature humidity, smoke detection, illumination and CO2 to develop complex sensor board a protocol for handling about it dealt. In particular, indoor space to mount the sensor based on the location of the control algorithm, so it varies through the Zigbee wireless sensor mounting position is free, and the advantage of being able to change. Also, the energy loss that occurs through the window can be reduced to the room lighting can play an important role in the control system.

As demand for IT services increase, which are based on SOA and cloud computing, service level agreements (SLAs) have received more attention in the parties concerned. An SLA is usually a paper contract written in natural language. SLA management tools which are commercially available, implement SLAs implicitly in the application with a procedural language. This makes automation of SLA management difficult. It is also laborious to maintain contract management systems because changes in a contract give rise to extensive modifications in the source code. We see the source of the trouble is the existence of documentary SLAs (paper contracts) and corresponding executable SLAs (contracts coded in the procedural language). In this paper, to resolve the current SLA management problems we propose an active SLM (Active Service Level Management) system, which is based on the active SLA (Active Service Level Agreement). In the proposed system, the separated management and processing of dual SLAs can be unified into a single process with the introduction of active SLAs (ASLAs).
Analysis for SEM of ARCS Factor and Persistent Learning-Intension in Educational Mobile App

This study is aimed to perform the qualitative evaluation based on the ARCS Model of educational mobile applications for smart phones. The evaluation has been performed targeting 60 students who attending the subject of informational education in 3 different universities in 2012 by allowing them to select the available educational mobile App installed in their smart phone. After, the level of persistent learning-intension from each student and the efficacy of ARCS motivational strategy was measured at learner's perspective. The structural equation model(SEM) was established and analyzed with PLS method to understand the relationship between the ARCS motivational strategy and the persistent learning-intension. The results of the study could be summarized as followings. First, the educational mobile App in various the motivational strategies showed different results that is the highest attention as well as the lowest satisfactory level. Second, the relevance in motivation strategies had the statistically significant effect in attention, confidence, and satisfaction. On the other hand, the other factors of attention, relevance, and confidence showed statistically significant effect in satisfaction. Finally, result demonstrate that the relevance is the critical factor inducing the significant effect in persistent learning-intension among the motivational strategies.
