Development of Integrated TCU for Multimedia Communication Devices Control

Companies almost don`t use an integrated control system using expensive network system in multimedia like TV and DID, despite IP-Broadcasting and communication equipment have expanded rapidly. The proposed integrated TCU(terminal control unit) is a control device that supports TV power On/Off check and remote control, power control reservation function, TV channel change, a variety of interface supports of input/output AC power & Lan port, RS-232C and IR using existing IP network after there is installed the Wake-on -Lan in the set-top box. The TCU can control and monitor 24 hours unlike existing low-cost control system RF method. In existing control equipment markets without expandability and low price, the TCU development including 24 hours monitoring and automatic control functions is expected to secure a wide range of companies.
Performance Analysis of Cooperative Diversity on the Usage of Opportunistic Relay

The data forwarding transmission is an important function of the relay in cooperative communication in wireless communication systems. However, additional relay cause the waste of power consumption and cost. Therefore, in this paper, we consider how to use the user mobile devices in stead of relays to deal with this problem. In this paper, we proposed the protocol that divide each relay into two states of idle and non-idle. The receiver has two functions of base station and user mobile device. In this case, it is possible that no additional cost, and improve the spectral efficiency and network capacity. We verified BER performance for the proposed protocol over Rayleigh fading through Monte-Carlo simulation.
Development of Direct-Information-Sharing Mobile System between Group Members Based on Wi-Fi Direct Technology

Improvement of performances of potable communication devices such as laptops, tablets, and smart-phones enables people to do group meetings in any place. However, even though group members in a meeting locate close, data or information to be shared in the group are exchanged through the cellular networks. This increases unnecessary traffic loads in the wireless/backbone networks and as consequence it increase delays in communications. To resolve the problem, an android-based application is developed in this paper. The application utilizes Wi-Fi Direct so that all members in the meeting can direct exchange materials for the meeting without using cellular networks.

In this paper, we propose VLC(visible light communication) based multi-hop multimedia data transmission system. The main contributions and features of the proposed system are as follows. First, the contribution of this research is to develope the LED communication based multi-hop transmission network system which can transmit multimedia data(audio data, video data) with long distance. Second, the developed system has the following features: In transmitter, audio data and video data are transmitted via multi-hops using two channels. The relay in audio channel receives digital audio signal by using photo diode and then transmits the signal to receiver after error checking and amplifying. The receiver receives the encoded audio data via photo diode and then converts to analog audio signal by using decoding and amplifying. The relay in video channel receives video signal by using photo diode and then amplify the video signal using OP-AMP and then transmits the signal to receiver. The receiver amplifies the received signal from photo diode and then sends it to the monitor. The performance evaluation of the proposed system is conducted in the laboratory with fluorescent light source. The results of the performance evaluation confirm that the system can provide high quality multimedia data transmission from transmiter to receiver via multi-hop relays in a long distance while we can see there are differences in the transmitted multimedia(audio and video) quality according to the used LED colors.
Analysis of VLC-based Transmit Systems and Application Technology

In this paper, we summarize and analyze recent VLC based transmission systems and application technologies by identifying the main issues and challenges and by using several performance parameters. First, we explain the main characteristics of VLC as well as the comparisons of VLC with other technologies. Second, we describe the current issues for VLC technology. Third, we classify and explain the several technologies among VLC based transmission systems in the state of arts in the view points of features, advantages and disadvantages. Fourth, we make a quantitative comparison table for the selected current VLC based transmission systems. Finally, we explain the main application technologies of VLC.This paper.
A Study on Transmission Performance for Optical Duobinary Transmitters at 40Gbps

This paper presents a theoretical study of transmission performance for an optical duobinary transmitter employed a Mach-Zehnder modulator and a electrical low pass filter at 40Gbps optical communication links. It depends on the bandwidth of the low pass filter in the transmitter, the optical filter and the filter in the receiver. Also, each filter affected to the various parts of the optical power spectrum. By optimizing the bandwidth of each filter, we could control the side robes and the ripples and improve the dispersion tolerance of the transmission system.

TETRA(TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) provide specialized disaster radio communication services as a standard European for digital TRS(Trunked Radio System). Especially, DMO(Direct Mode Operation) feature is used effectively in the radio shadow areas which base station does not propagate radio signal because it can communicate directly with terminal to terminal without base station`s relay function. However, to effectively used DMO feature, radio coverage prediction information should be provided to users. Therefore in this paper, we were calculated link budget of TETRA DMO terminals which were distributing and operating in the country and then predicted reaching distance about radio propagation to be applied with path loss model.
Performance Improvement of MCMA Equalization Algorithm Using Adaptive Modulus

This paper proposes the improving the equalization performance using the adaptive modulus concept to the MCMA blind equalizer in order to the reduction of intersymbol interference which occurs in the band limited and time dispersive communication channel. In MCMA blind algorithm, it is possible to reducing the amplitude and phase rotation of intersymbol interference without training sequence, the fixed constant modulus of transmission signal is used. But in proposed algorithm, the modulus are adaptively varies according to the equalizer output signal, then the improved equalization performance were obtained by the computer simulation. For this, the recovered signal constellation that is the output of the equalizer, the convergence performance by MSE, MD (maximum distortion) and residual isi characteristic learning curve were used. The propose algorithm has fairly good performance compared to the traditional MCMA algorithm in the same adaptive equalization algorithm.
Adaptive Equalization Algorithm of Improved-CMA for Phase Compensation

This paper related with the I-CMA (Improved-CMA) algorithm that is possible to compensates of phase in CMA adatpve equalizer which is used for the elemination of intersymbol interference in the multipath fading and band limit characteristics of channel. The new cost function is proposed for the eliminate the amplitude and phase simulataneous by modifying the cost fuction for get the error signal in present CMA algorithm. It has a merit to the algorithm simplicities and eliminats the PLL device for phase compensation after equalization. For proving this, the recovered signal constellation that is the output of equalizer output signal and the residual isi and Maximum Distortion charateristic learning curve that are presents the convergence performance in the equalizer and the overall frequency transfer function of channel and equalizer were used. As a result of computer simulation, the I-CMA has more good compensation capability of amplitude and phas in the recovered constellation. But the convergence time is slow due to the simultaneously phase compensation.

Numerious agencies are trying to install many surveilance systems in their jurisdiction. A mashup,is a page, or application, that uses content from more than one source to create a single new service displayed in a single graphical interface. The main characteristics of a mashup are combination, visualization, and aggregation. It is important to make existing data more useful, for personal and professional use. To be able to permanently access the data of other services, mashups are generally client applications or hosted online. This study is utilizing mash-up technology to provide suitable location scheme for monitoring and surveilance system in order to utilize existing infrastructure and to provide better service to the public.

Transportation culture is an inseparable part of a group`s overall culture. Since the term "transportation" is directly related to vehicular movement, I would like to propose the more general term: transportation culture and use that in the following paragraphs. Transportation culture is on one hand expressed by the consumers of transportation services reflecting their overall social culture and on the other hand taken into account by transportation professionals. Ministry of Land and Transportation conducted the Transportation Culture Index, a nationally representative survey, to assess a few key indicators of the degree to which ttransportation culture is valued and is being pursued every year. In this study, recommendation for TCI are explained based on theoretical framework and changing environment.

These days the researches using IT technologies have been done to decrease the traffic accident. Especially, the optimal safety speed considering the weather conditions have to be calculated in real time to protect the traffic accident on the high way in the case of the rain and snow. In this paper, we have simulated the automatic warning broadcasting system for the freezing and foggy regions based on Web to protect the traffic accident. Also, we have developed the simulator that can provide the drivers with the optimal safety speed in real time to protect the traffic accident even under the worst weather conditions using the Fuzzy Reasoning rules.

In this paper, we propose real-time program that measure open-close frequency of mouth and eyes to detect drowsiness of a driver. This program detects a face to the CCD camera image using OpenCV library. Then that extracts each area using CDF for eye detection and Active Contour for mouth detection based on detected face. This system measures each frequency of Open-Close using extracted area data of eyes and mouth. We propose foundation technique how to perform sleepiness decision of users based on measurement data.

In this paper, the authors propose a multi-transmission mechanism of heterogeneous network environment which is applicable to the SMART screen services over wire and wireless convergence network. This paper presents study results including a SMART screen handover algorithm among multiple collaborative devices under wire and wireless convergence and heterogeneous network environment, and a service operation and management system and a NAS system providing SMART services of AV streaming and contents files. These validate implementation feasibility of a call processing engine for seamless SMART screen collaborative services, AV streaming services and SMART screen collaborative services supporting mobility management and multiple users/multiple streams.

Feature-oriented software product line engineering is to develop various products by developing product line core assets in terms of features and composing those features. However, the developed product may not behave correctly if the feature interaction problem has not be properly taken into account during the feature composition. This paper proposes techniques for identifying and modularizing undesirable feature interactions effectively. The scientific calculator product line is used for evaluating the applicability of the proposed method.

In this paper, we propose the active rule system applying with emotional margin for power saving control. The proposed system in this paper is a part of the system which derives smart power saving by adjusting the illuminance using active rules within compromising the user`s emotion. For this, we set the specific range of standard illuminance and the lower bound of user`s emotional margin of illuminance based on measurements and analysis, and use these data in design of active rules. And then, we design and implement the active rule system using mobile agent. The mobile agent in the proposed system migrates to the destination sensor nodes, acquires and transmits sensor data according to the purpose and needs through the active rules, and directly executes the actions corresponding to the optional events(changed sensor data and/or time etc.). And then, we show the potential applicability of the proposed active rule system in various active sensor network applications through the interaction with the rule base and mobile sensor network middleware system.

According to the lunching of Google glass, the interest for wearable computer is increasing. This paper is about how to apply humanity or humanist metaphor to the development and application of wearable computer. Humanity is consisted of dream, imagination and desire of human mind. However the software development methodology and application design of engineering part are consisted of the logical language and also they are testable. In this paper the different academics are combined and researched to develop the human-friendly application which are the design of humanities-applying wearable computer and the service scenarios. This paper shows the specific examples of services to search, share and analyze the information with wearable computer also presents what kinds of humanistic metaphor is able to apply in this process.

The advent of various smart devices like smart phones and tablets has triggered the changes in information systems of medical centers. Especially, diversifying devices of clients and the need for N-Screen services increase necessities for sharing effectively information in medical centers. However, developing and managing clients for each OS like iOS and Android cost high and make it hard to provide seamless service through multi devices. Also, in the aspect of security it is necessary to share information between clients and health information systems. In this paper, we develop a smart health information client based real-time health information sharing framework. The developed client is based on hybrid app, that enables to share information in real time between N devices through health information sharing framework and to adopted to developments of various clients.
Video-based Facial Emotion Recognition using Active Shape Models and Statistical Pattern Recognizers

This paper proposes an efficient method for automatically distinguishing various facial expressions. To recognize the emotions from facial expressions, the facial images are obtained by digital cameras, and a number of feature points were extracted. The extracted feature points are then transformed to 49-dimensional feature vectors which are robust to scale and translational variations, and the facial emotions are recognized by statistical pattern classifiers such Naive Bayes, MLP (multi-layer perceptron), and SVM (support vector machine). Based on the experimental results with 5-fold cross validation, SVM was the best among the classifiers, whose performance was obtained by 50.8% for 6 emotion classification, and 78.0% for 3 emotions.

In this paper, we propose smart emotional lighting control system based on the android platform. The proposed smart emotional lighting control system be configure android platform and sensibility lighting equipment, expansion device, zigbee module. Smart emotional lighting control system based on the android platform is automatic control possible using the illumination sensor, and by selecting the desired lighting partial control can be designed. The experimental results of the proposed smart emotional lighting control sensitivity than conventional lighting control system decreased the power consumption and efficient lighting control was possible. Office acts will be suitable conditions to control the color and brightness, so they can be controlled from the improves concentration and ability to work.
An Efficient Shaking Correction Techniques for Image Stabilization of Moving Vehicles

In this paper, we propose an efficient shaking correction techniques for a moving vehicle image stabilization. The proposed shaking correction techniques was calculated cumulative histogram for the conversion and the separating information via color separation of video image frame of the input received. And it were to matching the histogram for match the color information as compensation result of the shaking vehicle video imaging. In this paper, the proposed the shaking correction techniques was obtained to the restoration result when compared to the existing shaking correction techniques that the smallest noise and better the naturalness of image through stabilization of luminance level and color level. Also, the imaging stabilization method was demonstrated the efficiency compared to other methods through to the real-time processing without the use of the memory.
Performance Study of Asymmetric Multicore Processor Architectures

Recently, the importance of multicore processor system is growing rapidly. Multicore processors are classified either as symmetric or asymmetric. Asymmetric multicore processors consist of a high performance complex core and number of low performance simple cores, and are known to be more efficient than symmetric multicore processors. Therefore, performance impact on various configurations of asymmetric multi-core processor needs to be studied. Using SPEC 2000 benchmarks as input, the trace-driven simulation has been performed for different asymmetric quad-core and octa-core processors and compared to the corresponding symmetric ones.
Ultracompact Polarization-Insensitive Directional Coupler based on Double Sandwiched Rib-Type Waveguide

The polarization characteristics of ultracompact polarization-insensitive directional coupler (PIDC) based on double sandwiched rib-type waveguide are explored in detail by using longitudinal modal transmission-line theory (L-MTLT). To obtain the polarization-insensitive condition of ultracompact directional coupler, the coupling length and coupling efficiency as functions of the refractive index and thickness of sandwiched rib-type waveguide are analyzed for quasi-TE and quasi-TM modes. The numerical results show that the ultracompact polarization-insensitive coupler with hundreds of micrometer scales is realized by properly choosing structural and material parameters of double sandwiched layers. Furthermore, the influence of fundamental mode profile, which is distributed in lateral waveguide of coupler, on the coupler performance has been investigated.

With the fast increment of smart phone users and extension of wireless internet the number of SNS user is also increasing. Twitter among lots of SNS takes the lead in SNS market. Twiter users express their thinking and feelings. In this paper, by analyzing twitts near the distribution enterprise using opinion mining. And by analyzing concern degree using the number of twitts and positive, neutral, negative degree we deliver marketing message to marketer. As the result, we propose that marketing and management of this distribution enterprise can reflect the demand of customer who is near there.
Optimization of Economic Load Dispatch Problem Using Linearly Approximated Smooth Fuel Cost Function

This paper proposes a simple linear function approximation method to solve an economic load dispatch problem with complex non-smooth generating cost function. This algorithm approximates a non-smooth power cost function to a linear approximate function and subsequently shuts down a generator with the highest operating cost and reduces the power of generator with more generating cost in order to balance the generating power and demands. When applied to the most prevalent benchmark economic load dispatch cases, the proposed algorithm is found to dramatically reduce the power cost than does heuristic algorithm. Moreover, it has successfully obtained results similar to those obtained through a quadratic approximate function method.

At present, the effect of oriental treatment system is proved in the west and using the data of tongue and pulse of body, the doctor can decide the patient`s body state without Xray and CT data of large machines. In this paper, the patient`s medical data is transmitted to the doctor and the real time decision algorithm is developed and so the doctor can decide the medical treatments. Using the mobile phone, the pulse data and bio data can be sent to the doctor and therefore the patients, who can`t care in real time, can be treated in real time in the impossible medical treatment areas. Therefore in this paper, the oriental medical treatment system algorithm and artificial intelligence electrical needle simulation are processed for real time and checked and treated, so anyone can decide patient`s state using mobile phone.
