Secure Configuration Scheme of Pre-shared Key for Lightweight Devices in Internet of Things

The IoT(Internet of things) technology enable objects around user to be connected with each other for sharing information. To support security is the mandatory requirement in IoT because it is related to the disclosure of private information but also directly related to the human safety. However, it is difficult to apply traditional security mechanism into lightweight devices. This is owing to the fact that many IoT devices are generally resource constrained and powered by battery. PSK(Pre-Shared Key) based approach, which share secret key in advance between communication entities thereafter operate security functions, is suitable for light-weight device. That is because PSK is costly efficient than a session key establishment approach based on public key algorithm. However, how to safely set a PSK of the lightweight device in advance is a difficult issue because input/output interfaces such as keyboard or display are constrained in general lightweight devices. To solve the problem, we propose and develop a secure PSK configuration scheme for resource constrained devices in IoT.
Reversible Watermarking For Relational Databases using DE (Difference Expansion) Algorithm

Generally, watermarking can be used copyright for contents such as audios, videos, images, and texts. With the development of Internet, many malicious attackers illegally copy relational databases synchronized applications Therefore, it is needed for the protection of databases copyright, because databases involve various sensitive information such as personal information, information industry, and secret national intelligence. Thus, the protection of relational databases is a major research field in the databases research topics. In this paper, we will review previous researches related the protection of relational databases and propose new method for relational data. Especially, we propose watermarking scheme for databases using reversible method in this paper. As an experimental result, the proposed scheme is very strong to malicious attacks. In addition, we proved our proposed scheme is to apply real application.

As a reversible Jacket is having the compatibility of two sided wearing, the matrix that both the inside and the outside are compatible is called Jacket matrix, and the matrix is having both inside and outside by the processes of element-wise inverse and block-wise inverse. This concept had been completed by one of the authors Moon Ho Lee in 1989, and finally that resultant matrix has been christened as Jacket matrix, in 2000. This is the most generalized extension of the well known Hadamard matrices, which includes both orthogonal and non-orthogonal matrices. This matrix addresses many problems in information and communication theories. we investigate the properties of the Jacket matrix, i.e. determinants, eigenvalues, and kronecker product. These computations are very useful for signal processing and orthogonal codes design. In our proposal, we provide some results to calculate these values by using a very simple mathematical model with less complexity.

In order to solve the problems that fingerprinting technologies and image identification technologies for digital music and videos identification scanned have not yet been enough to identify scanned cartoon books, the copyright project granted from the Korea Copyright Commission(Project title: Identification and Copy Protection Technology of Scanned Text/Comic Books) secured basic solutions for scanned cartoon books. The first result of the research project in 2013 was focused on the identification technology applied to abnormally scanned cartoon books. As subsequent research for the project, studies in the year of 2014 has been to provide solutions to identify cartoon books which abnormally scanned and occurred with transformations and distortions and solutions to protect the system from trials to devitalize functions of the identification system through various attacks. This paper is to propose a model for a system for identifying abnormally scanned cartoon books as a way of enhancing the identification rates for identifying abnormal bookscans and transformation attacks.

At the same time the uses's position on the map is the starting point of the Humanities Story. That means our current position is the place for stories of tales, children's song, fictional characters, the film background, lyrics and the birth of great people. This study points out that service has the limited to cafe, restaurant and hospital, and suggests the Humanities fusion Map Service which is combined with the POI information.
Implementation of Companion Animal Management System using Smartphone

In this paper, we tried to broaden a width of practical use field for applications through combining to existing contents after constructing various contents for companion animals. For this, we designed and developed our new companion animal management system(PET-IN) by adding various contents such as information management, schedule management, health management, QR code, SNS, shopping, map service for companion animals to smartphone applications. By PET-IN accessibility and satisfactory level tests, we found out that new synergy effect have appeared through combining each contents, and connectivity is increased. So, practical use field is broaden. These tests show us that comprehensive content composition is necessary for companion animal applications, and this study can be used as important data when new companion animal application contents are constructed in the future.
Design and Implementation for Construction Method of Management Network in MPLS-TP Network

To build a flexible network than traditional transport network, the carrier ethernet technology is emerging in network industry recently and MPLS-TP technologies are being applied as a major standard technology for the carrier ethernet. However, network management technologies required to handle equipment installed in MPLS-TP network are not clear. This paper propose an efficient method to build a management network automatically without any additional configuration when network equipments are installed in MPLS-TP network. The proposed scheme reduce cost required for both equipment installation and network maintenance by minimizing configuration procedures of connecting management system with network. We evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed scheme by applying the scheme to a real MPLS-TP equipment.

In this Paper, we proposed optimization of system performance, power splitting protocols applied to relay in the cooperative communication undergo co-channel interference. When relay adjust power distribution factors undergo co-channel interference, it is possible to optimize and maximize the channel capacity of the receiver. Because of energy haversting, interfence transfer to new power source. If finding the optimal power levels, to solve inability in system, and to increase the efficiency of the network. Finally, performance of the proposed protocol is analyzed in terms of outage probability, capacity of system.

In this paper, we propose energy harvesting apply to spectrum sensing. In this case, we can be spectrum sensing without consume energy. Algorithms of sensing and harvesting are determine active or idle of primary network, Compares with the threshold energy and the amount of energy that is harvested by energy harvesting scheme. If the secondary network want to send a message while the primary network is active, secondary users will change frequency to use the spectrum. Further, if the secondary network has not message, it will continues harvest energy. Therefore, spectrum sensing applied the energy harvesting method, energy of secondary network is remove waste and charge energy. So, efficiency and utilization of cognitive network can be increase.
BTC-based Image Compression using Pattern

Block Truncation Coding, or BTC, is a type of lossy image compression technique for grayscale images. It divides the original images into blocks and then reduces the number of grey levels in each block to compute the mean and standard deviation. BTC has also been adapted to video compression. Another variation of BTC is Absolute Moment Block Truncation Coding. AMBTC is computationally simpler than BTC. In this paper, we proposed new image compression method based on BTC, which is applied patterns to improve compression rate and image quality. This method make two codebooks to extract 36 and 64 patterns from the highest frequency patterns in BTC. When you are compressing an image, you compare many block patterns to that of codebook and use to compress indexes of identical patterns. We experiment our proposed scheme with 36 patterns and the experimental results showed the compression rate of 1.37 bpp. In this paper, our proposed scheme showed higher compression rate rather than that of BTC. In experiment, we used standard images for the performance evaluation.

As the population in Korea is feastly aging, various issues for living environment for elderly people are reported. Context-aware-based smart home system is also considered as one of the issues and the needs of it increases. Even though many researches are recently reported about context-aware-based smart home system, it is hardly found for elderly-people-optimized system. Therefore, in this paper, we surveys in three categories: general context-aware system, system for smart home, and context-aware home system for elderly people. After analyzing the surveys, we address issues to be solved for elderly-people-optimized context-aware-based smart home system and proposed appropriate research directions for the system.
A Study on Multi-Site Radar Operations Based on LFM Signal

As one of solutions to obtain efficient use of limited spectrum resource, we suggest a methodology for the co-channel multi-site radar operations with a shifted linear frequency modulation (SLFM) based on GPS clock. The proposed algorithm is that we find a candidate set of SLFM signals with the minimum acceptable level of the correlation from the cross-correlation characteristics among selected SLFM signals. To verify the proposed methodology, numerical analysis has been accomplished for several radars operating in the same channel with a sawtooth or triangle LFM signal. The computational results of detected distances as well as range profiles are also examined for interference, noise, and algorithm limitation including the error of clock synchronization.
Convergence Speed Improvement in MMA Algorithm by Serial Connection of Two Stage Adaptive Equalizer

This paper deals with the mMMA (modified MMA) which possible to improving the convergence speed that employing the serial connecting form of two stage digital filter instead of signal filter of MMA adaptive equalizer without applying the variable step size for compensates the intersymbol interference by channel distortion in the nonconstant modulus signal. The adaptive equalizer can be implemented by signal digital filter using the finite order tap delay line. In this paper, the equalizer is implemented by the two stage serial form and the filter coefficient are updated by the error signal using the same algorithm of MMA in each stage. The fast convergence speed is determined in the first stage, and the residual isi left at the output of first stage output is minimized in the second stage filter. The same digital filter length was considered in single stage and two stage system and the performance of these systems were compared. The performance index includes the output signal constellation, the residual isi and maximum distortion, MSE that is measure of the convergence characteristics, the SER. As a result of computer simulation, mMMA that has a FIR structure of two stage, has more good performance in every performance index except the constellation diagram due to equalization noise and improves the convergence speed about 1.5~1.8 time than the present MMA that has a FIR structure of single stage.
A Study of Call Admission Scheme using Power Strength Threshold value between APs in Wireless LAN Environments

A smart phone and the number of wireless terminals are mobile-to the nature of the AP mobility are many call transfer between wireless terminals and AP (Access Point). Each wireless terminal that is the call processing process for each is relatively large to cause the wireless traffic, and a factor that inhibits the efficient use of the radio band on the AP. In this paper, we use the power intensity threshold and threshold timer of the AP received by the mobile station to reduce the amount of switching traffic between the AP's cause and traffic generation factors between the wireless device and the AP that can effectively utilize the radio traffic from the AP the measures proposed. The proposed method and the conventional method is improved by simulation to handle the amount of radio traffic from the AP it was confirmed that it is possible to effectively utilize the whole of the radio band.
Hand-Held Power Quality Monitoring System for Factory Electrical Installation

High-power semiconductor devices and microprocessors in factory electrical installation so sensitive to power quality measurements such as harmonic currents, voltage fluctuations, flicker, current imbalance. Therefore, the little change of power quality can influences the productivity of factory electrical machines. Troubleshooting these problems requires accurate measurements and analysis of power quality with monitoring instruments that can effectively locate issues and identify solutions. In this paper, the author presents hand-held power quality monitoring system to locate issues and identify solutions. The proposed system consists of two parts, One is to develop hand-held power meters by using NI(National Instrument) DAQ(Data Acquisition) and WLAN. Another is develop power quality monitoring MMI(Man-Machine Interface) using LabView software. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm, variable tests are carried out.
An Adaptive Location Detection Scheme for Energy-Efficiency of Smartphones

As Location-Based Services (LBSs) of smartphones increases, the power consumption of a smartphone due to Global Positioning System (GPS) is becoming increasingly serious. This paper presents a new location estimation scheme for smartphones called Adaptive Location Detection (ALD). ALD adaptively detects the location of a smartphone considering the movement pattern of a user, category of applications executed in the smartphone, and the battery level. Simulation with various real applications and scenarios show that ALD reduces 37% of energy consumption compared to GPS. Nevertheless, it satisfies the accuracy requirement of each situation.
Development of a Command and Control System Based on Network Emulator

In this paper, a command and control (C2) system development using a network emulator is treated. Due to the development of information and communication technologies enabling reinforcement of information exchange and computational capability, an operational concept network centric warfare (NCW) was introduced. In here, it summarizes a developmental test environment build based on dummynet, one of the software based network emulator, and an operational concept of target command and control system. Moreover, I explain command and control system developmental test cases and results, and suggest an operational concept to overcome limitations of target communication system. I expect this concept will reduce data traffic of proposed C2 system especially plot messages which is distributed same data with short interval.

The feasibility study is an evaluation and analysis of the potential of a proposed project. It is based on extensive investigation and research to support the process of decision making. A systematic approach to determining the optimum use of scarce resources, involving comparison of two or more alternatives in achieving a specific objective under the given assumptions and constraints. Economic analysis takes into account the opportunity costs of resources employed and attempts to measure in monetary terms the private and social costs and benefits of a project to the community or economy. Cost-benefit analysis (CBA), sometimes called benefit-cost analysis (BCA), is a systematic approach to estimating the strengths and weaknesses of alternatives that satisfy transactions, activities or functional requirements for a business. It is a technique that is used to determine options that provide the best approach for the adoption and practice in terms of benefits in labor, time and cost savings etc. The CBA is also defined as a systematic process for calculating and comparing benefits and costs of a project, decision or government policy and projects.
Response Time Analysis Considering Sensing Data Synchronization in Mobile Cloud Applications

Mobile cloud computing uses cloud service to solve the resource constraint problem of mobile devices. Offloading means that a task executed on the mobile device commits to cloud and many studies related to the energy consumption have been researched. In this paper, we designed a response time model considering sensing data synchronization to estimate the efficiency of the offloading scheme in terms of the response time. The proposed model considers synchronization of required sensing data to improve the accuracy of response time estimation when cloud processes the task requested from a mobile device. We found that the response time is effected by new sensing data generation rate and synchronization period through simulation results.

In order to design and plan a city, the importance of collecting traffic information increases. However, current method to collecting traffic information by using sensors layed on the roads is not appropriate for exceptional cases such as national highway or newly planned city area, where sensors are already not layed. To scope the cases, the traffic information is estimated from traffic information of surroundings area. This paper develops portable traffic volume measuring equipment utilizing two or radar detector, so that more useful traffic information can be obtained in any environments. Furthermore, the system allows users to be able to instantly analyze gathered data on the site. The system has been tested in the field and proved the excellences theough the field test.

An Energy Efficient Re-clustering Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

Efficient energy consumption is a one of the key issues in wireless sensor networks. Clustering-based routing algorithms have been popular solutions for such an issue. Re-clustering is necessary for avoiding early energy drain of cluster head nodes in such routing strategies. The re-clustering process itself, however, is another source of energy consumption. It is suggested in this work to adaptively set the frequency of re-clustering by comparing the energy levels of cluster heads and a threshold value. The algorithm keeps the clusters if all the cluster heads' energy levels are greater than the threshold value. We confirm through simulations that the suggested algorithm shows better energy efficiency than the existing solutions.
Implementation of 433/856MHz Dual Band Antenna Using IFA Structure

In this paper, 433/865MHz dual band antenna is proposed by using IFA structure of a PCB antenna, the performance was improved by changing of the space between the feed point and short strip, varying the gap between the radiator and the ground plane and adding the branch line in the proposed antenna. To confirm the characteristics of the antenna parameters, HFSS from ANSYS Inc. was used for the analysis. RFID frequency band of ISO-18000-7 is 433MHz and EU-RFID frequency band of ISO-18000-6 is from 865.5 to 867.5MHz. Each of the 433/865MHz bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 5.2MHz and 18.2MHz. The maximum 433MHz antenna gain is -5.74dBi, the maximum 865MHz antenna gain is -3.36dBi. The Jig size of the proposed antenna is

. The results proved the possibility of the practical use on 433/865MHz by using the IFA structure that came from comparing and analyzing the measured and simulated data of the antenna.
A Linear Change of Leakage Current and Insulation Resistance of 22 kV Cables

This study is to predict the life exponent by measuring, over 7 years, the insulation resistance of high-voltage cables in 22 kV operation for 13 years. We found out the lifetime index in order to determine the time-dependent trend of deteriorating performance of power cables. The insulation resistances decreased according to elapsed time. We found that: the initial measurements of the cable systems were in agreement with the deterioration properties of the Arrhenius Law. By analyzing the life curve of the cable system, we also verified that the value of the life exponent (n) in the v-t characteristics defined by Weibull distribution has values from 10 to 11. When designing the cable system, the initial value of life exponent was chosen as 9 without any grounding. We have verified that the theoretical grounding based on the design safety of n=9 was actually the best one available. In the short term, we apply our research result to the diagnosis and evaluation of the power cables. In the long run, however, we plan to reduce the cost of the installation and management of cable systems in operation at power stations.

With progress in industrialization, facilities for generating, delivering, and receiving high levels of electric power are in great demand. The scale of electric power equipment is increasing in both size and complexity. This has contributed to the development of our modern, high-tech and information-based society. However, if the generation of electric power is suspended due to unexpected accidents at power facilities or power stations, a range of equipment the operations of which are dependent on electric power can be damaged, causing substantial socioeconomic losses in an industrial society. A great deal of time and money would be expended to repair damaged facilities at a power station, causing enormous economic loss.In order to detect the deterioration processes of power cables, and to prevent the destruction of power cables, the operation status of power cables should be monitored on a regular basis. We have installed equipment at Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., located in Taean, in order to predict and prevent the destruction of power cables. This is an entirely new installation: a set of equipment invented specifically to measure the insulation resistance of power cables. Installation of the equipment does not cause the flow of earth fault current. This ensures accurate measurement of insulation resistance values by the equipment. We have been studying this equipment in order to develop preventive technology that would show the deterioration processes of power cables.

As a study on entrepreneurship and venture companies to support, this research is to find how to inflow the fund which is provided by private companies. This is to propose a shared platform for Information for connecting producers and consumers, corporate investors to help fund inflows to private companies and utilization of the enterprise information collected by government. Entrepreneurship support policies, as one of economy activation have a limit in the size of the support of the government therefore support continued growth through aggressive inflow of private funds is needed. It is significant to provide the environment that private funds could spill into the environment to provide for excellent start-up companies.
Identification of the Predictability of SNS Intention to Use and Related Variables in Collaborative Learning

The purposes of this study are to examine the predictability of variables related to SNS intention to use in collaborative learning and provide some new implications. Based on Technology Readiness and Acceptance Model (TRAM), we hypothesized that optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, insecurity as personal disposition variables, subjective norm as a social variable, and perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as cognitive variables would predict SNS intention to use. For this study, 274 'Share Leadership' students in E university completed surveys and it was analyzed by multiple regression analysis. The results of this study showed as follows. First, optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, and subjective norm predicted perceived ease of use. Second, optimism, insecurity, subjective norm and perceived ease of use predicted perceived usefulness. Third, subjective norm, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness predicted SNS intention to use. From this, it is revealed that positive technology readiness predict much more than negative technology readiness do and the role of teacher and peers is very important.
A Study on Side Impact from Car-to-Car using Finite Element Analysis

The deformed degree of car body varies largely with the collision part from side collision of car-to-car. In case of deformation of car body caused by collision, the movement is different as speed energy changes to strain energy. Generally, in the analysis of traffic accident, the movement of car after the collision is analyzed by law of conservation of motion and the error of energy absorption rate along the deformation of car body can be calibrated by inputting coefficient of restitution, but it is current situation that coefficient of restitution applied by referring to the research results of forward collision and backward collision because the research results of side collision is rare. Vehicle model of finite element method applied by structure of car body and materials of each component was analyzed by explicit finite element method, and coefficient of restitution and collision detection time along contact part of side collision was drawn by analyzing the results. Analysis result acquired through the law of conservation momentum by applying finally-computed coefficient of restitution and crash detection time compared to collision result of actual vehicle. As a result, the reliability of analysis was higher than the existing analysis method were acquired when applying the drawn initial input value that used finite element method analysis model.

This paper introduces a 'divide-and-conquer' algorithm to the travelling salesman problem (TSP). An Authoring Tool for Hangul Soft Keyboard in Android

Most mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets have a soft keyboard implemented on the LCD touch screen to receive text inputs from the user. Because the size of the LCD screen is small, many efforts are going on to develop efficient soft keyboard with less key buttons. Especially, Hangul soft keyboard needs much time, effort, and deep software technology in developing an Hangul automata program module. This paper introduces design and implementation details of our authoring tool for Hangul soft keyboard running in Android. The tool supports the user to build an unique soft keyboard easily. The authoring tool downloads the soft keyboard app to the user's smartphone and makes it run immediately.
