Channel Reordering and Prefetching Techniques for Efficient Channel Navigation in IPTVs

As IPTV has become one of the major Internet services, IPTV users and channels increase rapidly. However, the increased number of channels makes users difficult to find their desired channels. Along with this, the channel switching time of IPTV incurs serious user-perceived delay. To alleviate these problems, this paper presents hybrid schemes that combine channel prefetching and reordering schemes. Simulation experiments show that combining adjacency based prefetching and popular channel reordering reduces the channel seek time by up to 44.7% in comparison with the conventional channel seeking interfaces.
Buffer Cache Management based on Nonvolatile Memory to Improve the Performance of Smartphone Storage

DRAM is commonly used as a smartphone memory medium, but extending its capacity is challenging due to DRAM's large battery consumption and density limit. Meanwhile, smartphone applications such as social network services need increasingly large memory, resulting in long latency due to additional storage accesses. To alleviate this situation, we adopt emerging nonvolatile memory (NVRAM) as smartphone's buffer cache and propose an efficient management scheme. The proposed scheme stores all dirty data in NVRAM, thereby reducing the number of storage accesses. Moreover, it separately exploits read and write histories of data accesses, leading to more efficient management of volatile and nonvolatile buffer caches, respectively. Trace-driven simulations show that the proposed scheme improves I/O performances significantly.
Secure Configuration Scheme for Internet of Things using NFC as OOB Channel

The PSK (Pre-shared Secret Key) based method is appropriate for the IoT environment consisting of lightweight devices since this method requires less computing time and energy than the method to configure the session key based on the public key algorithm. A fundamental prerequisite for the PSK based method is that PSK should have been configured between the communication entities safely in advance. However, in case of a small sensor or actuator, no input and output interface such as keyboard and monitor required for configuration exists, so it is more difficult to configure PSK for such lightweight devices safely in the IoT environment than the previous Internet devices. Especially, normal users lack expertise in security so they face difficulty in configuration. Therefore, the default value configured at the time of manufacturing at factories is used or the device installer configures PSK in most cases. In such case, it is a matter for consideration whether all installers and manufacturers can be trusted or not. In order to solve such problem, this paper proposes a secure bootstrapping scheme, which utilizes the NFC (Near Field Communication) as an OOB (Out-Of-Band) channel, for lightweight devices with limited resources.

File Time information has a significant meaning in digital forensic investigation. File time information in Linux Ext4 (Extended File System 4) environment is the Access Time, Modification Time, Inode Change Time, Deletion Time and Creation Time. File time is variously changed by user manipulations such as creation, copy and edit. And, the study of file time change is necessary for evidence analysis. This study analyzes the change in time information of files or folders resulting from user manipulations in Linux operating system and analyzes ways to determine real time of malware infection and whether the file was modulation.

A financial institution operated by cooperatives, abiding by the principle set by the cooperative federation, is comprised of a numerous financial institutions. Most of these small institutions are operated within local areas, providing financial services for coop members. The Financial Supervisory Regulations that supervises security professionals, organizations, and budgets are established entirely based on commercial banks in which the application of these regulations on coop financial institutions may not be proper. This paper aims to provide an efficient IT security policy for nation-wide financial institutions operated by the Cooperative Federation by analyzing its security personnel managements and adequacy.

For several decades, Korean corporations have achieved remarkable success in the world market pursuing a quantitative growing strategy by benchmarking developed countries such as the United States, Japan and European Union. Recently, however, since not only the world economy enters into low growth age of New Normal, but the continuously increasing pressure of emerging countries like China and India, the global position of Korean corporations has ruffled. For these reason, the purpose of the study based on searching the strategy for Korean corporations to promote sustainable growth while gaining a competitive advantage in the world market. The study uses two analytical tools, Porter's Diamond Model and Productivity Frontier by analyzing the smart phone industry where Korea, the United States and China are competing desperately. The study is aimed at analyzing and comparing the global competitiveness among Apple as a leader, Samsung Electronics as a follower and Chinese corporations as newcomers in the smart phone industry. Based on the analysis and comparison, the study focuses on searching the strategic decision of Samsung Electronics, and suggests the future strategic positioning of major corporations in different industries in the world market.

As smartphone was distributed widely usage of SNS is growing. Because of ots characteristics, SNS can sustain only when user uses SNS, users' intention to persist use of SNS is very important. Therefore in this study, psychological needs and immersion, the quality of SNS were chosen as impact variables to verify whether they affect the persistance of Facebook usage. A survey was conducted to 165 of Facebook user, and the result showed that compentence and relatedness significantly affeted immersino, and compentence and system quality significantly affected Facebook persistence.
A Study on Effective Plan for Manpower Development of CCTV Sectors

The purpose of this research is to study, through the Delphi method, using an expert panel of 14 persons, effective workforce plans for CCTV applications. The need for professional manpower for activities related to CCTV has emerged through technological development and increased utilization of the CCTV industry sectors. Efficient workforce improvement for the CCTV sector presented in this study are in regards to student education. This study proposes an appropriate description for curriculum and related promotional information. This study should create an environment for overcoming the lack of student involvement and commitment to the environment and ensure training after qualification status after the training provided, including measures to maintain. In order to prevent employee turnover, CCTV training is necessary to actively review government support measures. This study also proposes providing a proper educational environment and supply of replacement staff members brought on by training courses. In terms of education administration bodies, we propose that education and training in CCTV management provide a variety of benefits including participation in education, adequate publicity through cooperation with relevant institutions, and introduces new educational programs. We propose providing adequate training that meets the needs of consumer, as well as education, course selection and expanded curriculum in accordance with operating options and the costs of training. In addition, senior student-selected personnel are needed to address the shortage of operators starting work-experience or training.
Performance Comparison of Relay Selection Methods for Incremental Cooperative Relaying Systems with Spatially Random Relay

Cooperative relaying systems have been studied actively to improve the system performance effectively in wireless fading channels. Most of the cooperative relay studies are assumed fixed relay, recently the performance analysis of the cooperative relaying systems with spatially random relays considering the practical mobile environment are introduced. However the comparative studies for relay selection methods of incremental cooperative relay systems, the performance of which is influenced by the selection methods, have not been studied. Therefore we derive the performance of the system which has MRC(Maximal-ratio combining) with Max SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) selection or Max-min SNR selection, respectively. And the outage performances of the system with Max or Max-min selection method are compared for different transmit power allocation to the source and to the relays. The analytical results serve as useful tools for relay selection and power allocation to transmit nodes for opportunistic incremental relaying systems.

We had introduced the backgrounds, history and physical meanings of Jong Nang in "Jeju Jong Nang Channel Code I, II and III". In "Jeju Jong Nang Channel Code II" paper, we have introduced practical the root of digital human binary coded Jong Nang communications as the wooden gate in Korea Jeju Island custom and investigated Jong Nang gatemodels as an approximation of the AWGN model. The objective was to find a deterministic model, which was accessible to analysis the capacity. Jong Nang communications mean the normal 3 rafters placed on two vertical stones with three holes to convey the family's whereabouts that is deterministic signal. In this paper we find the capacity of deterministic signal processing about the linear deterministic signals approximately.
A Performance Analysis of AM-SCS-MMA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm based on the Minimum Disturbance Technique

This paper analysis the AM-SCS-MMA (Adaptive Modulus-Soft Constraint Satisfaction-MMA) based on the adaptive modulus and minimus-disturbance technique in order to improve the stability and robustness in low signal to noise power of current MMA adaptive equalization algorithm. In AM-SCS-MMA, it updates the filter coefficient applying the adaptive modulus and minimum-disturbance technique of deterministic optimization problem instead of LMS or gradient descend algorithm for obtain the minimize the cost function of adaptive equalization. It is possible to improve the equalizer filter stability, robustness to the various noise characteristic and simultaneous reducing the intersymbol interference due to the amplitude and phase distortion occurred at channel. The computer simulation were performed for confirming the improved performance of SCS-MMA. For these, the output signal constellation of equalizer, residual isi, MSE, EMSE (Excess MSE) which means the channel traking capability and SER which means the robustness were applied. As a result of computer simulation, the AM-SCS-MMA have slow convergence time and less residual quantities after steady state, more good robustness in the poor signal to noise ratio, but poor in channel tracking capabilities was confirmed than MMA.
Performance Evaluation of a Dual-Mode Blind Equalization Algorithm Using the Size of Decision-Directed Error Signal for High-Order QAM Signals

In this paper, we propose a dual-mode blind equalization algorithm that two of the blind equalization algorithm using the size of the decision-directed error signal is automatically switched. The proposed algorithm has a faster convergence speed due to operation of the MSAGF-SMMA with large fixed step-size mainly in the initial equalization. After the equalization has been made to some extent, the proposed algorithm has a smaller residual error in the steady- state by operation of the MSAGF-SMMA with a variable step-size mainly. The variable step-size is determined by multiplying the size of the decision-directed error signal of a fixed step-size. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the proposed algorithm. The computer simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has a significantly improved performance in terms of a residual inter-symbol interference and residual error in the steady-state compared with the MMA, SMMA, and MSAGF-SMMA.
Effect of CFO on UFMC System

The UFMC(Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier) is one of multi-carrier transmission technique as a candidate of transmission method for the recent 5G communication system. The UFMC can be considered as the system which has both the advantages of OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) and the simplicity of FBMC(Filter Bank Multi-Carrier). CFO(Carrier Frequency Offset) causes the problem to lower the BER performance due to a mismatch between the sub-carriers in multi-carrier transmission scheme. The effect of CFO on UFMC is not greater than the OFDM. But it still degrades the system performance caused by interference between the sub-band. In this paper, we analyze the SNR degradation due to changes in the value of EsNo and CFO on UFMC system.
Stress status classification based on EEG signals

In daily life, humans get stress very often. Stress is one of the important factors of healthy life and closely related to the quality of life. Too much stress is known to cause hormone imbalance of our body, and it is observed by the brain and bio signals. Based on this, the relationship between brain signal and stress is explored, and brain signal based stress index is proposed in our work. In this study, an EEG measurement device with 32 channels is adopted. However, only two channels (FP1, FP2) are used to this study considering the applicability of the proposed method in real enveironment, and to compare it with the commercial 2 channel EEG device. Frequency domain features are power of each frequency bands, subtraction, addition, or division by each frequency bands. Features in time domain are hurst exponent, correlation dimension, lyapunov exponent, etc. Total 6 subjects are participated in this experiment with English sentence reading task given. Among several candidate features,
shows the best test performance (70.8%). For future work, we will confirm the results is consistent in low price EEG device.
A David Star Magic Square Algorithm for Efficient LED Control

In this paper, we propose efficient LED lighting control algorithm using a David star magic square. Such algorithms increases the power reduction, the heat efficiency and LED life cycle and the efficiency of the LED lighting control consumption. Lighting system using existing Magic square algorithm could be reduced to increase the heat efficiency of the LED because the LED lighting time of the reduced cross-lighting. but it has a limit to the lighting control. If should apply the this proposed algorithm, can reduces power consumption and increases LED life-cycle, heat efficiency of LED lighting module and efficiency of the lighting control of the LED. This paper proposed that algorithm is by using a David star magic square on the LED Matrix. Divided into twelve areas to move the pattern in constant time interval, to perform the cross rotation and inversion techniques to thereby light up. In this paper proposed algorithm of this paper was compared with existing Magic square approach. As a result, power consumption and heat-value and luminous flux was reduced as the conventional lighting system. And, the LED lighting control increase the efficiency.
Driver Assistance System for Integration Interpretation of Driver's Gaze and Selective Attention Model

This paper proposes a system to detect driver's cognitive state by internal and external information of vehicle. The proposed system can measure driver's eye gaze. This is done by concept of information delivery and mutual information measure. For this study, we set up two web-cameras at vehicles to obtain visual information of the driver and front of the vehicle. We propose Gestalt principle based selective attention model to define information quantity of road scene. The saliency map based on gestalt principle is prominently represented by stimulus such as traffic signals. The proposed system assumes driver's cognitive resource allocation on the front scene by gaze analysis and head pose direction information. Then we use several feature algorithms for detecting driver's characteristics in real time. Modified census transform (MCT) based Adaboost is used to detect driver's face and its component whereas POSIT algorithms are used for eye detection and 3D head pose estimation. Experimental results show that the proposed system works well in real environment and confirm its usability.
Research and Development of Electrode Surface Inspection System

In manufacturing processing of a secondary battery, the visual inspection system is studied and developed to check the surface defects of the electrode plates. It consists of two parts, one is the hardware control and the other software implementation. The former is made up to the system configuration and the design of the optical system, the illuminations and the controllers. The latter is the detection algorithms of the surface defects. This system achieves the quality improvement of the electrode process and the price competitiveness. By using the proposed defects detection algorithms this system demonstrates the high reliability of spot, line, manhole, extraneous substance, scratch, and crater defect of a electrode plate surface.
A Portable Micro-display Driver and Device for Vision Improvement

There are many visual enhancement devices for people with low vision. However, almost conventional devices have been simple magnifying and high cost. The symptoms of people with low vision are very variety. It needs to control of image magnifying, brightness, and contrast to improve the visuality. We developed a portable microdisplay driver and device for visual enhancement. This device based on our suggested four methods such as image magnifying, specific color control, BLU brightness control, and visual axis control using a prism. The basic clinical experiments of the proposed Head Mounted Visual Enhancement Device (HMVED) have been performed. The results show beneficiary effects compared with conventional devices, and improve the life quality on people with low vision on account of low weight, low cost, and easy portability.
A Circuit Complexity Optimization ILP Algorithm of High-level Synthesis System for New Multiprocessor Design

In this paper, we have proposed a circuit complexity optimization ILP algorithm of high-level synthesis system for new multiprocessor design. We have analyzed to the operator characteristics and structure of datapath in the most important high-level synthesis. We also introduced the concept of virtual operator for the scheduling of multi-cycle operations. Thus, we demonstrated the complexity to implement a multi-cycle operation of the operator, regardless of the type of operation that can be applied for commonly use in the ILP algorithm. We have achieved is that standard benchmark model for the scheduling of the 5th digital wave filter, it was exactly the same due to the existing datapath scheduling results.
Impact of Pay TV Market Structure and Competition on Digital Switch Over of Cable TV

Cable TV with largest subscription base in pay TV market has difficulty in managing the task of digital switch over. This study analyzed the factors in delay of cable TV switch over and examined the impact of pay TV market structure and competition. The delaying factors turned out to be the lack of incentives and resources of cable TV operators, insufficient policy measures and acceptance tolerance issues of subscribers. Since cable TV operators with monopolistic status in pay TV market had continuous profit from analog service, they were not responsive to digital switch over which requires additional investment. Policy measures including support for the low income household and mandatory cut-off point for stopping analog broadcasting. Subscriber's willingness to accept digital broadcasting in terms of price sensitivity and preference for convenient operation also played a role. Introduction of IPTV in pay TV market influenced the speed of digital switch over of cable TV operators. MSOs with economies of scale showed higher digital switch over rate than independent SO.
User Convenience-based Trading Algorithm System

In current algorithm trading system, general users need to program their algorithms using programing language and APIs provided from financial companies. Therefore, such environment keeps general personal investors away from using algorithm trading. Therefore, this paper focuses on developing user-friendly algorithm trading system which enables general investors to make their own trading algorithms without knowledge on program language and APIs. In the system, investors input their investment criteria through user interface and this automatically creates their own trading algorithms. The proposed system is composed with two parts: server intercommunicating with financial company server to send and to receive financial informations for trading, and client including user convenience-based user interface representing secondary indexes and strategies, and a part generating algorithm. The proposed system performance is proven through simulated-investment in which user sets up his investment strategy, algorithm is generated, and trading is performed based on the algorithm
A Problem of Disqualified Fee Imposition Standard in Public Cremation Facilities on Internet Reservation of e-Haneul Funeral Total Information System and an Improvement Proposal

This study conducts an analysis of a problem on internet reservation of e-haneul funeral total information system by disqualified fee imposition standard in public cremation facilities through research and investigation focusing on the operational realities and an ordinance related to public cremation facilities made by each local government across the country, and then is to suggest a policy proposal to improve the drawn problem. As a result of the analysis, as a way to improve the drawn problems, this study suggests a policy proposal that prevents an illegal camouflaged move-in to reduce fee by restricting residence period in requirement of local residents inside the jurisdiction who can use public cremation facilities, raises fee of public cremation facilities of local residents inside the jurisdiction into the optimum level that is set cheaper than production cost, and unifies age norm of an object to apply adult fee in the central government about a difference of age norm of an object to apply fee of adult with the highest availability of public cremation facilities between local governments, resolving a fee difference through fee cutting of local residents outside the jurisdiction priced higher than production cost.
A System Design and Implementation for Geotechnical Engineering Field Application of Drone

Many studies have been carried out on monitoring the target by cooperating a drone with remote sensors recently. This monitoring system uses static sensors to measure environmental data and drones to collect measured data. In geotechnical engineering, inspectors go around measuring the safety of construction site and it is impractical to compose a network among numerous sensors in terms of the cost efficiency. In this paper, we propose a data collection system based on interaction between a drone and a few sensors that are installed around the target structure for geotechnical projects. Through experimental results, we also verify the availability and the time and cost efficiency of the proposed system comparing with using inspectors.
A Study on Crash Analysis of Vehicle and Guardrail using a LS-DYNA Program

A study is to research crash barriers for vehicles that prevent road breakaway of vehicles and protect car passengers and pedestrians as absorbing impulse. Protection performance tests on vehicle passengers were simulated by using a LS-DYNA program. Through repetitive simulation on various speed and angles, passenger protection performance according to different impact condition was contemplated. Variable setting for the simulation was calculated as the mean weight of domestic car sales. By analyzing NASS (National Automotive Sampling System) of NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) of the U.S., the actual speed and collision angle section of accidents were computed. As a result, we confirmed that THIV (Theoretical Head Impact Velocity) and PHD (Post-impact Head Deceleration) are increased according to the impact speed and angle. Smartphone Usage Experience of College students

The purpose of this study was to analyze the smart phone usage experience structure for college students. The phenomenology approach was used by conducting 4 times in-depth interviews with the 7 college students age between 20~23. Collected Data was analyzed by Giorgi's phenomenological method. There were 4 general structure descriptions and 28 themes. General structure descriptions were 'Dependence on smart phone', 'Phenomenon of smart phone usage', 'Results of smart phone usage' and 'Relationship between stress and smart phone'. Themes consisted of 'Ambivalence', 'Positive feelings for smart phones', 'Separation anxiety', 'Negative feelings for smart phones'. 'Dependent feelings for smart phones', 'A sense of unity with smart phones', 'Helpful for my life', 'Deeply involved with my life', 'Useful tool in my life', 'Study, communication, relaxation and health care', 'Maintain personal relationship', 'The most important thing in my life', 'Shallow relationship stress', 'Interference with personal relationship', 'Forming a negative relationship', 'Invasion of privacy', 'Forming a Incorrect relationship', 'Unwanted participation', 'No effort to improve relationship', 'Poor concentration', 'Interference with academic study', 'Study assistance', 'Limited help for study in depth', 'Shelter from the stress', 'Amplification of the stress', 'Obsessive focus', 'Feel separation for the reality' and 'Waste of time'. Smart phone usage make college students dependent on smart phones and had negative influence on both personal relationship and academic results. Usage of smart phone also amplified stress. Therefore we need fundamental principles on usage of smart phone and propose to build cultural etiquette that provides reasonable way to use smartphone.

The genetic code is a key to bio-informatics and to a science of biological self-organizing on the whole. Modern science faces the necessity of understanding and systematically explaining mysterious features of ensembles of molecular structures of the genetic code. This paper is devoted to symmetrical analysis for genetic systems. Mathematical theories of noise-immunity coding and discrete signal processing are based on Jacket matrix methods of representation and analysis of information. Both of the RNA and Jacket Matrix property also have the Element(Block) - wise Inverse Matrices. These matrix methods, which are connected closely with relations of symmetry, are borrowed for a matrix analysis of ensembles of molecular elements of the genetic code. This method is presented for its simplicity and the clarity with which it decomposes a Jacket Matrix in terms of the genetic RNA Codon.
