Design of Two-port MIMO Antennas without Space for Isolation

We propose a structure for a multiple input multiple output antenna which has no space for isolation. The antenna operates in a frequency range of 2.4-2.48 GHz and can achieve a high channel capability as a Bluetooth antenna. The MIMO antenna consists of two planar inverted F antennas with symmetric structure. We designed the proposed antenna using HFSS simulator, and we designed the fabricated antenna using PCB fabricator. The MIMO antenna's isolation

. The proposed antenna's specification satisfies Bluetooth antenna's criteria and has more space than the existing MIMO antennas, which have space for isolation.
An Adaptive Image Quality Assessment Algorithm

An improved algorithm for image quality assessment is presented. First a simple model of human visual system, consisting of a nonlinear function and a 2-D filter, processes the input images. This filter has one user-defined parameter, whose value depends on the reference image. This way the algorithm can adapt to different scenarios. In the next step the average value of locally computed correlation coefficients between the two processed images is found. This criterion is closely related to the way in which human observer assesses image quality. Finally, image quality measure is computed as the average value of locally computed correlation coefficients, adjusted by the average correlation coefficient between the reference and error images. By this approach the proposed measure differentiates between the random and signal dependant distortions, which have different effects on human observer. Performance of the proposed quality measure is illustrated by examples involving images with different types of degradation.
Fairness CSMA/CA MAC Protocol for VLC Networks

This paper presents a fair MAC protocol based on the CSMA/CA algorithm in visible light communication (VLC) networks. The problem of bandwidth sharing among differentiated priority in VLC networks can be solved by using number of backoff time and backoff exponent parameters with AIFS. The proposed algorithm can achieve fair allocation of the bandwidth resource among differentiated priority. The two dimension Markov chain is assisted for analyzing the proposed mechanism about throughput and delay metrics. Numerical results show that our proposed algorithm improves the fairness among different traffic flows.
Handover Call Admission Control for Mobile Femtocells with Free-Space Optical and Macrocellular Backbone Networks

The deployment of mobile femtocellular networks can enhance the service quality for the users inside the vehicles. The deployment of mobile femtocells generates a lot of handover calls. Also, numbers of group handover scenarios are found in mobile femtocellular network deployment. The ability to seamlessly switch between the femtocells and the macrocell networks is a key concern for femtocell network deployment. However, until now there is no effective and complete handover scheme for the mobile femtocell network deployment. Also handover between the backhaul networks is a major concern for the mobile femtocellular network deployment. In this paper, we propose handover control between the access networks for the individual handover cases. Call flows for the handover between the backhaul networks of the macrocell-to-macrocell case are proposed in this paper. We also propose the link switching for the FSO based backhaul networks. The proposed resource allocation scheme ensures the negligible handover call dropping probability as well as higher bandwidth utilization.
Double Binary Turbo Coded Data Transmission of STBC UWB Systems for U-Healthcare Applications

In this paper, we analyze and simulate performance of space time block coded (STBC) binary pulse amplitude modulation-direct sequence (BPAM-DS) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems with double binary turbo code in indoor environments for various ubiquitous healthcare (u-healthcare) applications. Indoor wireless channel is modeled as a modified Saleh and Valenzuela (SV) model proposed as a UWB indoor channel model by the IEEE 802.15.SG3a in July 2003. In the STBC encoding process, an Alamouti algorithm for real-valued signals is employed because UWB signals have the type of real signal constellation. It is assumed that the transmitter has knowledge about channel state information. From simulation results, it is shown that the STBC scheme does not have an influence on improving bit error probability performance of the BPAM-DS UWB systems. It is also confirmed that the results of this paper can be applicable for u-healthcare applications.
File Modification Pattern Detection Mechanism Using File Similarity Information

In a storage system, the performance of data deduplication can be increased if we consider the file modification pattern. For example, if a file is modified at the end of file region then fixed-length chunking algorithm superior to variable-length chunking. Therefore, it is important to predict in which location of a file is modified between files. In this paper, the essential idea is to exploit an efficient file pattern checking scheme that can be used for data deduplication system. The file modification pattern can be used for elaborating data deduplication system for selecting deduplication algorithm. Experiment result shows that the proposed system can predict file modification region with high probability.

Association Analysis of Parkinson's Disease using Apriori Algorithm

Parkinson's disease is representative degenerative diseases of the nervous system, which is from deficiency of dopamine neurons to pass in which the gradual degeneration of the body. In this paper, open UCI repository data of Parkinson's patients is used for experiments. The classification based on correlation analysis is examined. In addition, the relationship between groups is differentiated by cluster analysis based on patients with Parkinson's disease by apriori algorithm and correlation analysis. It is used to find the properties that distinguish cluster analysis. Though the disease is the same in the basic structure, each group is compared as each gender group with the most distinctive part of the characteristics.
Motor noise removal for determining gait events over treadmill walking using wavelet filter

The conventional method for filtering force plate data, low-pass filtering, does not always give accurate results when applied to force data from a custom-made, instrumented treadmill. Therefore, this study compares low-pass filtered data to the same data passed through a wavelet filter. We collected data with the treadmill running. However these include motor noise with ground reaction force at two force plates. We found that he proposed wavelet method eliminated motor noise to result in more accurate force plate data than the conventional low-pass filter, particularly at high speed motor operation. In this study we suggested the convolution wavelet (CNW) which was compared to that of a low-pass filter. The CNW showed better performance as compared to band-pass filtering particularly for low signal-to-noise ratios, and a lower computational load.

As inexhaustible clean energy, solar energy will be the most ideal green energy in the 21st century. The effective method to convert solar energy into electrical energy is by solar photovoltaic power generation technologies. LED Emitting Diode is a kind of component which can transform electricity into visible light. As the smart current control system for photovoltaic street lights, the proposed system has improved the battery charging and discharging mechanism to extend the lifespan and effectively controls the LED discharge current according to battery charge state and lighting.
Bi-directional fault analysis of evaporator inspection system

In this paper, we have performed a safety analysis on an automotive evaporator inspection system. We performed the bi-directional analysis on the manufacturing line. Software Fault Tree Analysis (SFTA) as backward analysis and Software Failure Modes, Effects, & Criticality Analysis (SFMECA) as forward analysis are performed alternately to detect potential cause-to-effect relations. The analysis results indicate the possibility of searching and summarizing fault patterns for future reusability.
