A Development of The Road Surface Decision Algorithm Using SVM(Support Vector Machine) Clustering Methods

Road's accidents caused by Ice, snow, Wet of roads surface conditions and weather conditions situations that are constantly occurring. That is, driver's negligence and safe driving ability of individuals due to lack of awareness, and Road management main agent(the government and the public, etc.) due to road conditions, if there is insufficient information. So Related research needs is a trend that is required. In this study, gather Camera(Stereo camera)'s image data, and analysis polarization coefficients and wavelet transform. And unlike traditional single-dimensional classification algorithms as multi-dimensional analysis by using SVM classification techniques, develop an algorithm to determine road conditions. Four on the road conditions (dry, wet, snow, ice) recognition success rate for the detection and analysis of experiments.
Development and Effectiveness of Private Parking Information Algorithm

Super high-rise buildings of combined use such as large shopping malls and multiplex etc. have larger parking facilities than general buildings and are characteristic of an increase in the number of the entrance and the exit connecting internal external space of the parking lot. These features cause a congestion of internal traffic by increasing car driving distance in the parking lot, and vehicle idling increases by drivers wander the parking lot in order to find parking space. In addition, they make drivers suffer from lots of difficulties due to parking including increasing their walking line after parking. Therefore, in this study, we developed individual parking information provision algorithm to specify the optimal parking place for drivers according to the purpose of visiting a building and the drivers' moving path, and selected new construction site for the second lotte world in order to evaluate the algorithm developed and performed evaluation. As a result of the evaluation, it was analyzed that in the case of applying the individual parking information provision algorithm compared to the existing parking information provision algorithm, moving distance in the parking lot decreases around 7.43~83.4%, and that in the case of
emission, it decreased about 47.7% on average, which indicates that the efficiency resulted from application of the individual parking information provision algorithm is very high as the application effects are tested.
Improvement of Representative Value through Comparison of the Reliability of point detector : focusing on traffic volume

With the increase in image detectors, concerns about the reliability of traffic information are increasing. In this paper, we propose a method to generate reliable traffic volume using analysis of the point detector data as a representative value. Therefore, targeting expressway, we analyzed the difference in traffic volume collected by loop and image detector, and verified statistically using t-test, and finally analyzed the error rate compare to the real traffic volume. Analysis revealed that there was a statistically difference the traffic date collected by the loop detector and the image detector, in the same period, the same time, respectively. In addition, the difference between the actual traffic volume and traffic that have been collected in a loop detector was the lowest Therefore, creating a traffic volume of representative value, we proposed a method to use loop detector than the average traffic volume collected by each detector. It shows that it is more important to use one high-quality data rather than various low-quality data to produce a representative value.
Development of a Shortest Path Searching Algorithm Using Minimum Expected Weights

This paper developed a new shortest path searching algorithm based on Dijkstra's algorithm and
algorithm, so it guarantees to find a shortest path in efficient manner. In this developed algorithm, minimum expected weights implies the value that straight line distance from a visiting node to the target node multiplied by minimum link unit, and this value can be the lowest weights between the two nodes. In behalf of the minimum expected weights, at each traversal step, developed algorithm in this paper is able to decide visiting a new node or retreating to the previously visited node, and results are guaranteed. Newly developed algorithm was tested in a real traffic network and found that the searching time of the algorithm was not as fast as other
algorithms, however, it perfectly found a minimum path in any case. Therefore, this developed algorithm will be effective for the domain of searching in a large network such as RGV which operates in wide area.
Dual-band RFID Tag Antenna Applicable for RF Power Harvester System

In this paper, a dual-band antenna is proposed for the RF power harvester system as well as RFID tag. The proposed antenna operates as the passive and active RFID tag antenna in the UHF and microwave band, respectively. In addition, to charge the battery of an active RFID tag in the microwave band, it harvest the RF signal for tagging from the passive RFID tag antenna in the UHF band. The proposed antenna operates in the UHF band (917~923.5 MHz) and microwave band (2.4~2.45 GHz). In order to obtain the dual-band operation, the dipole structure and meander parasitic elements are proposed as the
dipole antenna, respectively. The radiating dipole structure in the microwave band acts as the coupled feed for the meander parasitic elements in the UHF band. The impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 2) of the proposed antenna covers 917~923.5 MHz (UHF band) and 2.4~2.45 GHz (Microwave band). Measured total efficiencies are over 45 % in the UHF band and over 70 % in the microwave band. Peak gains are over 0.18 dBi and 2.8 dBi in the UHF and microwave band with an omni-directional radiation pattern, respectively.
Handover performance evaluation by a IEEE 802.11p based handover algorithm and its parameter under high-speed driving environments

ITS technologies are in the research and development around the world as a solution for maximizing the efficiency of the existing road infrastructure, solving the complex traffic problems and providing the convenient driving services. The core of these ITS technologies is to provide the information for the requesting users in fast and accurate way from the server. In real driving conditions, there are many communication barriers around the vehicles and the base stations so that an accurate and robust handover technology is needed in order to ensure seamless ITS services. This paper introduced an WAVE handover algorithm implemented in a real communication device and five parameters mainly affecting the handover performance are evaluated. The handover performance is measured by changing the parameter values at a highway testbed. The test results show that the handover algorithm parameter values should be configured carefully to remove the handover ping-pong problems.
Design of u-Transportation Communication Systems for Next-Generation ITS Services

Next-generation ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) adopts WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment) system which is capable of the bidirectional communication system in vehicular environments. u-Transportation system adopted WAVE communications system to show the optimal performance in terms of various services with regard to vehicle safety and traffic. In this paper, we introduce testbed of ubiquitous-Transportation system and its service. Then, we describe WAVE system for supporting next-generation ITS service. Also, we carried out tests in real road environments in order to verify communication functions of WAVE systems and its performance. We confirmed that our communication systems for supporting services meet the communication performance.
Development of Measuring Instrument and Driver's Approaching Maneuver Experiment on the Roundabout

This study aimed to measure the behaviors of drivers approaching a roundabout and analyze the characteristics of them. For these objectives, a system to measure the in-vehicle behaviors of a driver when he/she approaches a roundabout. The reliability of the system was analyzed, and the result were applied to a driving test in a roundabout. The result suggested that drivers showed cognitive responses to the accelerator pedal
ahead of the approach zone. And they showed cognitive responses to the brake pedal and the speed of the vehicle
ahead of the approach zone, respectively. As for drivers' cognitive changes between the start and end points of their cognitive responses at a roundabout, the standard deviation of the time of response was
, and the standard deviation of the end point was
, which meant that there was a 3.71-fold gap between the two deviation values. During the test, differences among the drivers were observed, but no difference was observed among trails.
A Study on the Heterogeneity of Leisure Travel Time between Elderly and Non Elderly People - Focusing on urban and rural areas in south Chungcheong province -

This study tried to explore the quantitative travel heterogeneity between elderly and non elderly people, focusing on urban and rural areas in south Chungcheong province. For the analysis, a PLS(Partial least square) model is applied with economic and traffic environment characteristics of the urban and rural areas. The characteristics of elderly and non elderly people in the urban and rural areas are derived from the 2011 person trip survey. As a result, the study found out that the key factors affect on elderly people in the urban and rural areas are bus operation interval, number of bus operation routes, number of household member, and a monthly average income of household. In case of non elderly people, areas economic factors such as GRDP, the rate of economic activity, and employment status as well as those of elderly people. Meanwhile, female elderly people in rural area have more sensitivity compared to male elderly people and the gender heterogeneity is not revealed in non elderly people.
