Algorithm Applying Reversed Direction Method for High Accuracy of the Shortest Path Searching

The studies on the shortest path algorithms based on Dijkstra algorithm has been done continuously to decrease the time for searching.
algorithm is the most represented one. Although fast searching speed is the major point of
algorithm, there are high rates of failing in search of the shortest path, because of complex and irregular networks. The failure of the search means that it either did not find the target node, or found the shortest path, witch is not true. This study proposed
algorithm applying method that can reduce searching failure rates, preferentially organizing the relations between the starting node and the targeting node, and appling it in reverse according to the organized path. This proposed method may not build exactly the shortest path, but the entire failure in search of th path would not occur. Following the developed algorithm tested in a real complex networks, it revealed that this algorithm increases the amount of time than the usual
algorithm, but the accuracy rates of the shortest paths built is very high.
Combined Filtering Model Using Voting Rule and Median Absolute Deviation for Travel Time Estimation

This study suggested combined filtering model to eliminate outlier travel time data in transportation information system, and it was based on Median Absolute Deviation and Voting Rule. This model applied Median Absolute Deviation (MAD) method to follow normal distribution as first filtering process. After that, Voting rule is applied to eliminate remaining outlier travel time data after Median Absolute Deviation. In Voting Rule, travel time samples are judged as outliers according to travel-time difference between sample data and mean data. Elimination or not of outliers are determined using a majority rule. In case study of national highway No. 3, combined filtering model selectively eliminated outliers only and could improve accuracy of estimated travel time.

This study aims to propose the location selection method of car-sharing services in Daejeon Metropolitan city. In order to select locations for car-sharing, Daejoen area was divided in
cell size using GIS Arc/Info 10, and input factors which may affect car-sharing service were determined, and then each input factor was standardized for analysis. The weight for each input factor was determined through experts` survey and index of goodness of fit was estimated in each cell (
size) using AHP method. Also, This study proposed the method to select 30 service facility location using Location-allocation Model in Network Analysis module. The proposed method for the location selection of car-sharing service in this study can be used for preliminary data for initial car-sharing introduction. Henceforward, appropriate demand forecasting and economic evaluation for the location selection of car-sharing service are needed for the further study.
Estimation of Vehicles Evacuation Time by using Lane-based Routing Method

This study is the fundamental research to establish evacuation planning and to analyze evacuation planning characteristics in Gumi-city based on existing network and traffic characteristics data. Assuming an emergency situation, it compared with evacuation time estimates between using existing traffic signal system and proposed lane-based routing method through micro simulations. As a result, using existing traffic signal system could not affect the evacuation times in each level of emergency conditions. However this study found that proposed lane-based routing method is very effective to reduce an evacuation time compared with using existing traffic signal system. Also the proposed method is verified to reduce an evacuation time especially in extreme emergency circumstances.

In this paper, an UWB (Ultra Wide Band) band-pass filter with open stubs using SIR (Stepped Impedance Resonator) structure is presented. The proposed band pass filter (BPF) has SIR structure instead of open stubs for UWB application with low insertion loss. Ongoing SWIM(System Wide Information Management) with the United States and European countries as the center is a part of the ASBU(Aviation System Block Upgrade) program improved performance of aeronautical data system in the International Civil Aviation Organization and a core technology of Integrated Aeronautical Data Management Network to elevate service through digitally aeronautical information management. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze SWIM architecture and network applied the concept of SOA(Service Oriented Architecture), and propose methods of implementation transforming applications operating established legacy aeronautical data system into integrated aeronautical data management network through adapter technology. This will allow development of middleware and application suitable for the next generation infrastructure network environment for efficient ATM(Air Traffic Management)and provide timely required information for users.
An Analysis of Diversion Rate by The types of Display and The levels of Delay on VMS (Variable Message Sign)

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the diversion rate by the levels of delay and the types of display. For this study, we developed the logit model by analyzing the result of SP survey of drivers who have driver`s licence after manipulating a virtual driving simulator. The result of analysis was that the types of display was not statistically significant to the diversion rate. On the other hand, the levels of delay was very meaningful factor with the diversion rate. When the main road was flowing smoothly, drivers started to detour at the levels of delay 125% under the traffic free flow state. Similarly, when the levels of delay got worse, the diversion rate kept the same percentage as it was at the levels of delay 125% state which represented a smooth road condition. Likewise, when the main road`s traffic flow was slow, drivers appeared to make detours at the same state of the levels of delay 125%. It was found that as the levels of delay got worse, the diversion rose higher than the diversion rate at the condition of slow traffic flow situation with the levels of delay 125%. The result of this study suggests the criterion of drivers detour point. For the conclusion, the result of study would be a reasonable reference for establishing transportation strategies by reflecting drivers` detouring property and would improve the efficiency of traffic flow.
A Study on the Measurement of Intruding Vehicles Enforcement System of Traffic Jam

This study suggested experimental study results of congestion detection method for intruding vehicle enforcement system. This congestion detection method is developed to determine optimal operation criteria of intruding vehicle enforcement system as detecting traffic congestion. In ITS sector, traffic management systems generally have used a sectional travel speed for congestion detection. However, image sensors have high error rate of congestion detection because of speed error. This study suggested comprehensive congestion detection criteria based on speed and occupancy rate using field studies. As field study results, the proposed intruding vehicle enforcement system using image sensor is capable of accurately detecting the traffic congestion using sectional speed of 20km/h and occupancy rate of 60% as congestion detection criteria.
Development of a High-Performance Vehicle Imaging Information System for an Efficient Vehicle Imaging Stabilization

In this paper, we propose design of a high-performance vehicle imaging information system for an efficient vehicle imaging stabilization. The proposed system was designed the algorithm by divided as motion estimation and motion compensation. The motion estimation were configured as local motion vector estimation and irregular local motion vector detection, global motion vector estimation. The motion compensation was corrected for the four directions for compensate to the shake of vehicle video image using estimate GMV. The designed algorithm were designed the motion compensation technology chip by applied to IP for vehicle imaging stabilization. In this paper, the experimental results of the proposed vehicle imaging information system were proved to the effectiveness by compared with other methods, because imaging stabilization of moving vehicle was not used of memory by processing real-time. Also, it could be obtained to reduction effect of calculation time by arithmetic operation through to block matching.
A Study on Priority Decision for Roundabouts Implementation using Analytic Hierarchy Process

Roundabouts are recently paid a lot of attention, but in the process of implementation, there are insufficient logical grounds for clear criteria and priority of introduction. As a result, in determining priority of introduction of roundabouts, a local government often depends on a policy maker`s subjective judgement. Therefore, this study was conducted to suggest methodology for priority decision of introduction of roundabouts. Assessment elements of six main elements including accident type at intersections and each one has three subelements. Survey was carried out targeting fifty-three public officials in charge and experts in order to analyze the significance of each assessment element. The theoretical background of analysis is based on AHP developed by Saaty, which is one of multiple criteria decision making methods. `Expert Choice 2000` was used as a software program. Five intersections representing different situations were selected as examples of analysis. It was also paired with sensibility analysis to grasp how priority might be changed by different weight. Through this result, it can be inferred that priority might change by manipulating field situation from other areas.
Study on the Installation warrants of staggered crosswalk traffic island on Urban Streets - Focusing on pedestrian safety and service level -

On the Staggered Crosswalks, pedestrians cross the crosswalks two times. This method can reduce the cycle, the vehicle delay and the walking distance by increasing the major direction of green time. The safety of pedestrians is also effective. This study suggests the warrant of the facilities of island width and length etc. by considering the road structure and pedestrians. Also this study suggests the standard of the safety through the accident analysis of Staggered crosswalks and General Crosswalks. In the results, accident rate of the Staggered Crosswalks 18.3(100 million vehicle-km) was lower than the accident rate of the General Crosswalks 28.3(100million vehicle-km). By understanding the start point of crossing of the Staggered Crosswalks, the analysis of the location and types of accident suggests the safety zone(spare space). The setting warrants of Staggered Crosswalks are 4 lane over the road and the 2 meter over sidewalk width of island. The minimum length of the Pedestrian island was doubled compared to the crosswalks width. And the maximum length was set by considering the wait time of the pedestrians.

A developed skill of an intelligent CCTV is also advancing by using its Image Acquisition Device. In this field, area for technique can be divided into Foreground Subtraction which detects individuals and objects in a potential observing area and a tracing technology which figures out moving route of individuals and objects. In this thesis, an improved algorism for a settled engine development, which is stable to change in both noise and illumination for detecting moving objects is suggested. The proposed algorism from this thesis is focused on designing a stable and real time processing method which is perfect model in detecting individuals, animals, and also low-speeding transports and catching a change in an illumination and noise.
A Study on Traffic-Flow Characteristic Changes on Expressway by Visibility

Weather factor to affect driver`s driving environment are due to changes in weather conditions is caused rainfall, snowfall, fog etc and the reducing of road capacity and because deteriorating weather could be affect the headway and vehicle speed and the decrease in lane caused by an accident occurs that was analyzed that bad weather occur congestion greater than on the clear day. Bad weather to reduce of the driver`s visibility was analysed the sensitive to changes in travel speed and traffic accident to appears high characteristics according to weather conditions on the expressway(higher speed) than general road. As a result, visibility have been determined to be important factor in changes of the highway traffic flow characteristics. Therefore, in this study, we selected traffic volume and travle speed that have a major impact on high-speed expressway basic segments as importance effect factor and we selected to subject of analysis among the Metropolitan Expressway that it could be obtained certain level of traffic volume data and we studied the changing of expressway traffic flow due to change visibility after the collecting of meteorological and traffic data. In order to perform this study, data collection and analysis methods were established through the existing literature and we had selected level of visibility of the expressway and we had performed the statistical verification. Finally, we had calculated the rate of change of expressway traffic flow characteristics due to visibility and we had come up with a way to apply at capacity and service level analysis.
Assessment of Improved Transportation Operating Systems in Changwon City

In order to improve the safety and efficiency of traffic signal operation, several core projects of advanced transportation operating systems were implemented in Changwon City. This project included 10 units such as the expansion of roundabout, the permitted left-turn signal operation and the effectiveness of the projects was assessed using before and after studies. This paper presented the quantitative and qualitative evaluation results for three projects: roundabout, permitted left-turn signal operation, and left-turn actuated signal operation. From the analysis results, average travel speed was improved by 16.8% from the installation of roundabouts and average travel time and control delay were reduced by 12.4% and 41.6% respectively, from permitted left-turn operation. It was found that average control delay was reduced about 26.7% from left-turn actuated signal operation. In addition, more than 57.7% of the surveyed people was satisfied with the operational performance of the roundabout implemented. It is expected that the operational performance of traffic signal can be greatly improved by incorporating the proper projects of advanced transportation operating systems in other cities.
