Design and Implementation of an IEEE WAVE Multi-channel Transmission Emulator

IEEE WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment) is being developed to operate in 5 GHz DSRC band to provide cars moving at high-speed with vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside communication. IEEE P 1609.3 of the WAVE protocol stack defines how multiple channels are used based on the exchange of provider-service-tables (PST) and user-service-tables (UST) for rapid link establishment and data transmission. This paper presents the design and implementation of an IEEE WAVE multi-channel transmission emulator that we have developed to study the operation of protocol and applications. Applications for a public-safety and a download service have been implemented and are shown to operate effectively on top of the emulator.
A Route Information Provision Strategy in ATIS Considering User's Route Perception of Origin and Destination

Route travel cost in transportation networks consists of actual route travel cost and route perception cost. Since the route perception cost is differently perceived according to each origin and each destination, route search has limitation to reflect the note perception cost due to route enumeration problem. Thus, currently employed advanced traveller information systems (ATIS) have considered only actual route travel cost for providing route information. This study proposes an optimal and a K-route searching algorithm which are able to reflect the route perception cost but encompass route enumeration problem. For this purpose, this research defines the minimum nit of route as a link by adopting the link label technique in route searching, therefore the comparison of two adjacent links which can be finally expanded the comparison of two routes. In order to reflect the characteristics of route perception in real situation, an optimal shortest cost path algorithm that both the forward search from the origin and the backward search from the destination can be simultaneously processed is proposed. The proposed algorithm is applied for finding K number of shortest routes with an entire-path-deletion-type of K shortest route algorithm.
A Study on Estimation of Car Travel Time By using Bus Travel Time

It is essential that is the collection of more accurate data to provide reliable traffic information. Currently collection of traffic information which uses the taxi or the passenger car by the probe vehicle is low reliability. If it develops the model which estimates car travel-time by using bus travel-time, it means that the sheep or duality of information using the passenger car and the taxi by the probe vehicle than will improve. Consequently the research which develops to each situation in accordance withtraffic volume and bus whole aspect car execution yes or no and bus stand form.
The Study of Volume Data Aggregation Method According to Lane Usage Ratio

Traffic condition monitoring system serves as the foundation for all intelligent transportation system operation. Loop detectors and Video Image Processing are the most widely common technology approach to condition monitoring in korea Highways. Lane Usage is defined as the proportion of total link volume served by each lane. In this research, the lane Usage(LU) of two lane link for one day. Interval is 56% : 44%. The LU of three lane link is 39% : 37% : 24%. The LU of four lane link is 25% : 29% : 26% : 21%. These analysis reveal that each lane distributions of link are not same. This research investigates the general concept of lane usage by using collected loop detector data and the investigated that lane distribution is different by traffic lane and lane usage is consistent by time of day.

Estimation of Bus Travel Time Using Detector for in case of Missed Bus Information

To improve the quality of bus service, providing bus ravel time information to passenger through station screen. Generally, bus travel time information predict by using previous bus data such as neural network, Kalman filtering, and moving average algorithms. However, when they got a difficulty about bus travel time information because of the missing previous bus data, they use pattern data. Generally, nevertheless the difference of range is big. Hence in this research to calculate the bus travel time information when the bus information is missed, use queue detector's data which set up in link. The application of several factors which influence in bus link travel time, we used CORSIM Version 5.1 simulation package.
A guideline for freeway incident management manual

This paper is designed to report the results of response manual development in relation to the freeway Incident Management System(FIMS) development as part of Intelligent Transportation Systems Research and Development program. The central core of the FIMS is an integration of the component parts and the modular, but integrated system for freeway management. The whole approach has been component-orientated, with a secondary emphasis being placed on the traffic characteristics at the sites. The first task taken during the process was the selection of the required actions for each step within the Incident Management System. After through review and analysis of existing incident response procedures and manuals, the incident response manual led to the utilization of different technologies and actions in relation to the specific needs and character of the incidents. FIMS also provides Integrated Incident Management according to the verified incident information provided by the each components The deployment of containment and mitigation strategies for incidents will be automatic or manual depending on the configuration of the system. It is anticipated that, over a period of time, operators will be able to response the incident using integrated and organized Procedures and action items.
A Stepped Impedance Resonator Bandpass Filter with Superior Cut-off Response for ITS Application

In this paper, a bandpass filter with excellent cut off characteristic due to transmission zero using bypass coupling capacitor and with superior harmonic characteristic by interdigital capacitor is suggested. The measurement results for SIR bandpass filter with bypass coupling capacitor and interdigital capacitor show that the insertion loss is less than 1.9 dB and the return loss is better than 15.4 dB with 4.2 % bandwidth at the center frequency of 5.78 GHz.
